It’s just a bet. Ten days until Christmas and all I have to do is avoid my roommate’s delightfully wrapped package. When the countdown to Christmas is over, I’ll be collecting my own present—a generous stack of pretty green bills. It doesn’t matter that every time he looks at me with those gorgeous hazel eyes, my knees quake. It doesn’t matter how every time he takes his shirt off, my heart skips … off, my heart skips a beat.
Despite what my body wants, I know to keep this charming heartbreaker in the friend zone.
This should be an easy ten days, that is until my roommate shares his best kept secret.
Now the countdown to Christmas has begun, and all he wants for Christmas is me.

Loved this Roommate (or More) Story!!!!
Sophia is “guilted” into allowing co-worker Jaxson to room with her. Her early crush on him was wiped out by his revolving door girlfriends and catching him “in the act” at the office.
Resolving to keep her distance and setting some ground rules will certainly keep their friendship and coworker status intact. I loved their interaction and learning their backstories. This is a delightful novella which will certainly put you in the Christmas spirit.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Countdown to Christmas is a fun, sexy, steamy Christmas romance. Sophia and Jackson are great characters with a lot of chemistry. It’s a fun read and I highly recommend it.
Sophia and Jaxson have an ever evolving relationship from working together to roomies. The closeness of being roomies makes the chemistry hard to avoid.
This novella is written is Sophias POV as she tries to friend zone Jaxson for the holiday season.
When these two come together with the build up and development it is a delicious as a cup of cocoa.
Great read to escape the holiday stress. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.
This was a very cute and sexy story. I was not able to put this done because it was so good.. I think you will enjoy this story..
Everyone loves a quickie!
Novellas like this hot and sexy read from Betty Shreffler is what Christmas is made for. Reward yourself!! Spend that hard-earned money on something you can enjoy more than once, because this little number is one fantastic read you’ll want to come back to.
I loved that the chemistry between Jaxson Parker and Sophia Ward was so thick that is was almost chewable, and I always enjoy the witty repartee between the characters when you read anything put together from this author.
Ms Shreffler has put together a full-flavoured book that is packed into a tight and tasty morsel that you’ll want to get through in one hit. It really is a lunchtime quickie! 5 Stars.
Sophia and Jaxson are as hot a couple as they come. If they can get past the hurdles. But getting there will be so much fun. This is a fast hot read from Betty that you can not miss. Some of the happenings will make you laugh while others make you swoon. What more could you want?
This is a perfect Christmas book to read curled up on the couch. Betty has outdone herself again with this novella. The chemistry is undeniable between sophia and Jackson. From the beginning of the book to the end. You could tell they were meant to be. Just needed a little help. There are also some recipes in the story and I’m so happy they are at the end of the book because I want to make them so bad.
I really liked this book so much. It had great characters with great chemistry. I loved the story itself though it pulled me.in from the beginning.
When Sophia is desperately seeking a roommate her boss pushes her to allow her coworker Jax to move in with her. With lots of flirting and steamy action this novella is well worth the read. I really enjoyed the book and the characters.
It is a hot and steamy holiday romance novella. The story is beautifully written and I loved both the main characters. It is one of those lighthearted and romantic stories which are perfect for reading on a cold day when you want something to warm you up. This book will have that effect on you. I enjoyed reading and would recommend it to all romance lovers. This sweet story is for you all.
It’s not an angsty romance, there is not much drama, just a sweetness overload. In my opinion, that’s perfection. Sophia and Jaxon work together and they are best friends. The only trouble is that there is chemistry between that and they have been ignoring it for the last three years. So, when Jaxon is in need of a room and Sophia is looking for a roommate, their boss decided to play matchmaker. One thing leads to the other and now, they’re both addicted to each other.
A must-read novella for all book lovers, especially if you like easy to read quickies. I highly recommend this book.
I loved this naughty Christmas novella. Betty delivers another awesome story with this steamy, friends to lovers story. We’re introduced to co-workers Sophia and Jaxson. They’ve been working together for 3 years now. Early into their work relationship, she put him in the friend zone. You must read this to see what happens between them that changes Sophia’s mind. This story is extremely hot and Jaxson is swoon-worthy.
I love love love Jaxson and Sophia! You could tell the bet was not going to last because the chemistry between them was way too explosive. I love that they were friends before lovers but most of all I love that they had honesty. There was no second guessing or communication problems because even when it was a difficult discussion, they were honest. It made their relationship all the sweeter. I smiled, I laughed and I blushed. What a beautiful holiday romance.
Steamy and short friends to lovers/coworkers holiday read! Bonus, loved the mixed holiday drink recipes at the end.
Sophie had crush on Jaxson since she met him, but after witnessing him being a player, she buried everything deep inside. Jaxson needs a room to leave, Sophie is looking for a roommate, thanks to their boss Mick, Jaxson moves in with Sophie.
O boy, chemistry between those two is off the charts, you need cold shower reading this book. I loved it, it’s awesome and hot, very hot.
Love this amazing beautiful Christmas love story of Jaxson and Sophia
all the feels intense emotional beautiful heartstopping ready for more
This was my first story by Betty Shreffler and i really enjoyed it. Countdown to Christmas is an adoribale, quick holiday read packed with feels and cheer. Perfect for getting into the holiday feel.
Jaxon and Sophia were great. These two had chemistry for days. It spilled from the pages and their connection couldn’t be denied. I liked watching them go from coworkers to more and all the feels they gave me along the way. Along with the great chemistry and connection came plenty of steam. These two didn’t hold back and it was fab!
Betty Shreffler’s “Countdown to Christmas” was both steamy and fun, and reading it was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a chilly evening. Both of the lead characters were very likeable, especially Jaxson, who had kind of a “lovable scamp” vibe that I really enjoyed. It was easy for me to understand why Sophia was so attracted to him. Sophia was more cautious than Jaxson when it came to getting into a relationship, but he did his best to convince her that they were meant to be together. He was surprisingly sweet when he shared his feelings with her, but his other methods of persuasion were decidedly spicy.
My only (minor) complaint about this story is that I found the character development to be a bit lacking, but that’s a common issue I have with many novellas and short stories. As I was reading this story, I found myself wondering about Sophia and Jaxson’s families, for example. There was a brief explanation as to why Sophia wasn’t spending Christmas with her parents, but Jaxson’s parents were never mentioned at all. Even just a sentence or two to explain his family situation would have gone a long way to helping me understand his character better and increased my enjoyment of the story.
At any rate, I did enjoy “Countdown to Christmas” and would recommend it.

Christmas Romance
Countdown to Christmas is my first book by this author as I wanted to get a feel for her writing style as I’ve seen so many of her books out there that have intrigued me and I’m hoping to read more by Betty
Soph and Jaxson are work colleagues but also friends. Soph has feelings for Jaxson but after witnessing something at work, she puts him firmly in the “friends” category Now, she’s looking for a roommate and her boss suggests Jaxson with a bet attached
A good steamy story for Christmas time
I love nothing more than a sweet, sexy Christmas love story and I adored Jaxson and Sophia in this fun Friends to Lovers Holiday treat!
What could happen when two friends who work together all of a sudden become roommates? Jaxson and Sophia started off as flirty co-workers but after seeing how much of a manwhore Jaxson was Sophia decides to firmly put the man who is invading all of her fantasies in the “FriendZone”. Sophia wants to kill her boss when he lets the cat out of the bag that she needs a roommate. And it just so happens that Jaxson needs a new place to live! How perfect is that! NOT! At least not for Sophia. She knows that she can’t let her guard down, because she still has feelings for the perfectly charming Jaxson – and the last thing she wants for Christmas is a broken heart.
Such a cute, quick and super sexy Holiday read!
Be still my holiday cheer filled heart! Betty Shreffler delivers the sweetest, hottest, most adorable friends to lovers holiday read EVER with Countdown to Christmas. I’m talking sweeter than Christmas cookies, hotter than a roaring fire, gives you a bigger smile than anything Santa would deliver, perfection here. All I want for Christmas is to curl up with a dirty snowmen (yes I totally looked up the recipe for that drink after I read this, 10 out of 10 would recommend) and curl up with Jaxson!
The relationship between Sophia and Jaxson is filled with so much sweetness and incredible chemistry it’s impossible to not full on melt while reading their story. Even as friends they’re so freaking cute together it hurts! Then when all those feelings finally take over, *BOOM* explosive!
