I’m a fighter, not a puppet warming a fancy chair. The great Council of Unnaturals has been around since the beginning of time, each member replaced by their eldest child when the time comes. And my mother is the head of the Oasis. Her eldest? Well, that would be me.But I’m not interested. I’d rather live above ground.Besides, there are much better things to do with my time, like saving a family … better things to do with my time, like saving a family of shifters, keeping humans from causing mass extinctions, and fighting back demon hordes.
Magic is my weapon of choice, and I wield it with precision.
But my people are relentless and send a small group of handsome men to capture me. An angel, a vampire, and a wolf.
Someone should have sent some luck along with them.
Before long, I’ve pulled them into cause—rescuing a family of shifters who’ve been attacked in their home.
We work to get the teenage kids who’d been kidnapped back, but a dream pulls at me.
My people in the Oasis are under attack.
Surely not.
If I leave, the kids will die, but if I stay, all I’ve ever known could be destroyed.
There is no right answer, and yet, I’ve gotta make my move.
My mother would be so proud.
This is book 1 of 4. There will be a cliffhanger and you will need to read the other books to finish the story.

Great paranormal romance! Halla doesn’t want to live bu the councils, or her mothers rules. She is out in the world and soon finds herself on a mission to protect a shifter family. She doesn’t know that 3 men have been sent to bring her back, each with their own interests in Halla. They agree to help her, in more ways than one, but she gets a vision of their home being attacked she is left with a crisis of conscious. Does she help the family she promised to protect, or save her people? This does have a cliff hanger, but it just makes you want the next book even more!
I read the prologue and I was really looking forward to this one. It didn’t let me down! It was action packed, has a wide array of supes, and magical in more ways than one. The story is fast-paced and the ending sort of slapped me in the face with its suddenness, but I knew it would have a cliffhanger ending so I wasn’t upset about that. The writing is great, the world-building has the perfect amount of detail, and the romance is passionate. It is everything I was looking for and I’m ready for the next one.
Very good fantastical read. You have a good imagination Ms. Lewis! This reader delved right into the story and got immersed with all the happenings in this fantasy world. Lots of action and adventure, some gore as well. The characterizations were wonderful, they just seemed to “pop” and were totally believable within the context of this story. Great entertainment value! Beware though, it appears there is more to come, so there must be a book 2 – woohoo!
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest and unbiased opinion. I have to affiliation to this author.
I loved this book. It has edge on your seat excitement throughout the book. I cannot wait to see if there will be more in this series. This is a true paranormal book with a slow burn which is great.
Having read the prologue, I was momentarily thrown off by the switch in lead heroines. And while I admit that I badly want to know more about Zora and her defenders, Halla and her champions are equally compelling. A word of warning: the ending of this book is a very abrupt cliff-hanger, so watch out for the sudden stop. It left me gape-mouthed, thinking ‘wait! You can’t leave me there.’ This book takes us deeper into the world of Oasis; its people, its politics, and its perils. The new monster that threatens all of the Nightwalkers is something I never saw coming and I desperately want to know what happens next. Who’s the mastermind behind it all and what will it take for the Nightwalkers to emerge victorious in the end? I also need to know more about all of Scarlett’s daughters. There are so many secrets that have already been hinted at, I don’t think I can rest until they’ve all been revealed.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
OMG, you do not want to miss this one.
Halla, wayward witch, has been on her own seeking to help those that did not go to The Oasis, an Unnatural safe haven. The governing council has sent Aurelius, an angel, Byron, a werewolf, and Greyson, a vampire, out into the world to find her and bring her home. As the story progresses they ate faced with Halla’s stubbornness, face a new foe and must overcome the tragedy that strikes. The first book in the Council of Consorts series has started out strong with epic quest and facing an unknown enemy that could lead to the destruction of all that they know. Jade Lewis has created a story line that allows for growth in the characters as well as the series. You do not want to miss out on reading this book.
First, this is book 1 of a series and is a cliffhanger. Second, this is the start of one of the best paranormal books I have read. Jade Lewis is a new-to-me author and I am really impressed with the quality of writing and plot. This is a book about Unnaturals; i.e., witches, vampires, shapeshifters, etc., and their battle for survival against black magic. Halla is a strong witch who has chosen to live away from the underground caves which is deemed a safe haven for all Unnaturals. She roams the earth to protect Unnaturals living outside of this sanctuary from humans who hunt them. She is joined by 3 others: an angel, vampire and werewolf who were sent to return her to the Oasis. Before their return they encounter creatures created by evil magic. Each chapter is a separte POV from these 4 characters but the story is so well-blended that it does not feel disjointed, but rather seamless. It provides opportunity to understand each character in a deeper way. A fabulous setting for a series!
This is a fantastic start to this paranormal series, from the storyline to the characters. You get danger, action, a reverse harem and so much more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
COUNCIL OF CONSORTS BOOK 1 By Jade Lewis
This is a new paranormal story that is continuing through 4 books. It is very well written and has very engaging characters. The Oasis is where the Unnaturals live. Halla is a witch with strong magic. She is meant to be on the council as she is the oldest daughter and it is her duty to replace her mother on the council. She wants to avoid that at all costs so she leaves. Halla has 3 men: a vampire, werewolf, and a angel that are with her to help her and protect her. This is as far as I am going to say, I don’t want to give too much away. If you like paranormal give this a try.
KICKIN ‘ EM TO DA CURB!!!
