NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A seaside town helps one young woman reclaim the light after darkness in an uplifting novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.“Romantic, warm, and a breeze to read—one of Macomber’s best.”—Kirkus Reviews Annie Marlow has been through the worst. Rocked by tragedy, she heads to the one place that makes her happy: Oceanside in the Pacific … place that makes her happy: Oceanside in the Pacific Northwest, the destination of many family vacations when Annie was a teenager.
Once there, Annie begins to restore her broken spirit, thanks in part to the folks she meets: a local painter, Keaton, whose large frame is equal to his big heart—and who helps Annie fix up her rental cottage by the sea; Mellie, the reclusive, prickly landlord Annie is determined to befriend; and Britt, a teenager with a terrible secret. But it is Keaton to whom Annie feels most drawn. His quiet, peaceful nature offers her both comfort and reprieve from her grief, and the two begin to grow closer.
Then events threaten to undo the idyll Annie has come to enjoy. And when the opportunity of a lifetime lands in her lap, she is torn between the excitement of a new journey toward success and the safe and secure arms of the haven—and the man—she’s come to call home.
In this heartwarming tale, Annie finds that the surest way to fix what is damaged within is to help others rise above their pain and find a way to heal.
Praise for Cottage by the Sea
“Macomber never disappoints. Tears and laughter abound in this story of loss and healing that will wrap you up and pull you in; readers will finish it in one sitting.”—Library Journal (starred review)
“Macomber’s story of tragedy and triumph is emotionally engaging from the outset and ends with a satisfying conclusion. Readers will be most taken by the characters, particularly Annie, a heartwarming lead who bolsters the novel.”—Publishers Weekly

I always enjoy Debbie Macomber books and this was no exception.
more to the plot than usual
It was fast moving and suspenseful but romantic as well.
Really enjoyed this quick, feel-good read.
This was another good book from Debbie. Really enjoyed it.
Wonderful
I loved this book. The characters have wonderful depth, are interesting, imperfect, complex people whom I would love to meet.
Debbie Macomber reminds/enlightens us with the truths that we all have things in our lives that , if we languish without the help of love, we can get stuck within a self-created cage. A beautiful story wrought from the inspiration of tragedy.
Thank you for keeping it a lovely, curse free read. I highly recommend Cottage By The Sea.
very entertaining Read. Enjoyed the book.
I love Debbie Macomber books and this one did not disappoint. I always enjoy the story lines and the characters seem very real. Some you love, some you love to hate. Annie experiences a huge loss in her life. She will never be the same care-free young woman she once was. She seems to move through life in a haze now. In an effort to find her “happy place”, Annie decides to move to Oceanside, WA where her family once used to vacation. There are happy memories here and she hopes that she can remember those times and be happy once again. She meets many people and they seem to help her find a purpose and she seems to help them as much as they help her. Very inspirational and a “feel good” ending.
Thank you to NetGalley for the book in exchange for my honest review.

Fun-loving book!
Annie Marlow is trying to recover from her personal loss when she decides to return to the happy place of her youth. Oceanside, a quiet beach town where she and her family spent summers when she was younger might be the place that will help her heal. While sitting on the beach, Annie decides to move to the town full-time and goes about getting a job as a physician assistant and also seeking to rent the place where she and her family spent summers. Lucky for Annie, Keaton who she once defended when they were teenagers is in the realty office when she arrives and makes her dream of returning to live in the cottage come true. A wonderfully written story of loss, sadness, and pain and how these emotions slowly change into joy and love for the different characters in this book. This story of love and healing is beautifully captured.
Well written. Loved the character development. Another hit for Debbie Macomber.

“Cottage by the Sea” by Debbie Macomber
What an emotional read !! I loved this story. I felt this story. I was gifted an ARC via NetGalley … one of my truly lucky days. If you read the blurb you know … it’s a story of heartbreaking loss and sometimes the painful – recovery – survival – repercussions – of the losses suffered by those we love. A really good story of the power of love to break hearts, and, to heal hearts. Life is a learning journey.
