I am a corrupt king, ruling a sinful empire. I wasn’t born to the crown.Nevertheless, I wear it well.Aislinn Granville is the Crown Jewel of my empire—my queen. To my enemies, she’s my Achilles heel—a perfect pawn. Without her, I am a wounded warrior. A ruthless, relentless beast. There is nowhere she can be taken that I won’t find her.No adversary I won’t crush to get her back.Even if I have to … won’t crush to get her back.
Even if I have to burn this city to the ground.

What a most perfect book 2 that was packed with such intensity that had me staying up to the wee hours reading (and then dreaming about the book). The steam level is extremely spicy and I am so sad this is only a duet. I think the author did a great doing with the dual perspective and really gave such a depth to the characters
We finally get to get the end of Damon and Aislinn and let me tell you I fell in love with how it all ended. Through this whole book you will get your questions answered that you had from the first book. Which I would love to tell you more about it, its best you go into this book with an open mind because man you will come out with BOOOMMM!!! your mind will be filled with the love between these two. Be ready for the angst and the sexy scenes and the feisty Ms. Aislinn for sure!
Corrupt Savior by Tara Leigh
5 Stars +++++
Amazing! Spectacular! Characters are phenomenal. Very exciting story! A lot of twists and turns I didn’t see coming.
“Even the darkness in you is beautiful to me, Damon. You are my dark prince, my vengeful devil, my corrupt savior.”
“The brightness of her light remaining, not only undimmed but expanding to include an infinite range of colors. This woman embodies an entire universe of beauty. Spectacular, indeed.”
“Thank you for being the light to my dark. Thank you for being the queen to my king. Thank you for everything.”
Highly recommend this and the duet!
Twisted love – Epic Situations
A romance book that you will be able to read over and over – if simply for the amazing, sexy, and alpha Damon King.
Omg. This book has been on my mind since I finished cruel sanctuary. This freaking book is amazeballs!!! Her characters are so strong, but very very real. She creates a world of corrupt people, but you are a part of it and crave every word that you read!! This a masterpiece of epic characters and love that can endure anything. They’re sizzling hot together and their passion consumes them when they are together.
Aislinn and Damon are a hot couple with a lot of issues from the past and present between them. They have issues that are below the surface and are hard to face due to their positions and circumstances. Their story started out rather difficult, and with his job, it only gets harder. But, it is worth it all and endures all – including attacks, lies, and conspiracy.
“And I am definitely Damon King’s ally. His partner in life and love. His princess and his queen. “
The things happen in this book will shock you to your core, but you get all the happy, steamy feelings back by the end. In the end, NO ONE messes with Damon King and comes out of it unscathed. He is one strong, alpha male that I would love to meet in real life!! He shows his love in a different way than others but it is true and genuine, the best he can do. How he shows his love is original and oh so sweet (for Damon King).
“Thank you for being the light to my dark. Thank you for being the queen to my king. Thank you for everything.”
So to wrap up, go buy this book! If you love alpha males who require control and will do anything to have their woman- this book is for you!!
Wow! Finished in one day! I was very much looking forward to the conclusion of Wages if Sin…. Love Damon and Aislinn!!! So many questions at the end of the last book… all of them answered in this explosive book. It had me feeling things! A time or 2 I felt like I was being punched in the gut. These 2 had my emotions all over the place. Absolutely love them… love the way their story went. Now my only question is….. Will Finley get her own story? Because I kind of want to see her get a HEA!
Soooo I was waiting impatiently for this book like forever and I can only say that I was speechless while reading it because there are so many things happening that I didn’t expect and Omg it’s so much more than you can imagine.
When Tara said she will go darker, this is so much darker than you expect.
There are moments of suspense that left me mouth opened and I just couldn’t wrap my head around, I was like Who is this author, where is she coming from because this rollercoaster of events and emotion are hard to keep up with.
Oh, let’s not forget the chemistry between Aislinn and King, they light up fireworks when together and surely the author has raised the hot limits for the written sexy time because you gonna need a drink or 5 to cool down for sure.
I just can’t say enough how much I love this book.
The perfect balance of suspense, angst and sexy scenes that are so hot.
‘I thought I was a strong man. Invincible and invulnerable. Physically. Financially. Mentally. Emotionally. The woman in my arms has taken that away from me even as she’s proved it true.’
Aislinn Granville was taken right under Damon King’s watch and there is nothing he won’t do in order to get her back even if that means he destroys the entire world in the process. Wow talk about a cliff hanger at the end of Cruel Sanctuary, I couldn’t wait to get my hands-on Corrupt Savior to see what happens next and I can certainly tell you it was worth the wait!! This book had everything from drama to betrayal to suspense to danger and plenty of heat thrown in.
Damon goes mad searching for Aislinn and there is no line he won’t cross in order to bring her home safe. Aislinn being the strong and resourceful determines that she is going to do everything in her power to save herself. Aislinn has really come into her own in this book and she continued to surprise and impress me. Damon went from needed no one to realizing that his life means nothing if he doesn’t have someone to share it with. There are a lot of twist and turns in this one so it makes it hard to say much without any spoilers, but what I can say is I loved every moment and look forward to reading even more by Tara Leigh in the future.
“Even the darkness in you is beautiful to me, Damon. You are my dark prince, my vengeful devil, my corrupt savior.”

Damon King is upset and doesn’t care who knows it. Him being upset makes him seem more human and that he actually has a heart under that tough exterior. Aslinn Granville was able to figure out what’s going on – me, I’d probably freak out. We women are good at problem solving and that shouldn’t be discounted.
There’s plenty of suspense and action to keep you riveted from beginning to end. The hot and steamy parts don’t hurt either. Of course the suspense has me curious as to what the author had in store, which made it hard to put down. What I liked about this was that because this is book two, secrets get revealed. But don’t worry they don’t all get revealed at once so it forces, bad choice of words, you to continue this adventure.
The battle of wills still seems to be there but not as much as in book one. That’s no surprise since Aislinn’s will is so strong. Damon’s is more alpha but that all comes from how much he cares for her. The story seems so real that just goes to show this author knows what she’s doing. She knows just what to create in order to get our emotions involved.
With this story, I can feel more of a connection between our main characters. As I see their bond strengthen, I try to slow down. I’ve come to enjoy our couple and I’m not ready for this duet to be over yet. At least until the suspense has come to an end – and a surprise to me was that part of that suspense was romantic. Our author was very sweet by including a treat at the end.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
You have got to go in blind to really appreciate this fantastic conclusion to the Wages of Sin duet.
The characters are great. Aislinn is one strong and determined heroine. I love her tenacity and grit. Damon has his match with her and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship and the direction it was going. I liked that we got a bit more from other characters, especially Finley and Sebastian. I would love a story on Sebastian just to know how his life panned out.
Make sure you have a change of knickers to hand, because OMG there are some real HOT and sexy scenes.
This book has all the feels. I liked all the thrill, action, and guessing. The twists and turns. I just devoured this book and loved it, and I’m now suffering from a book hangover!!!
I have been sitting here waiting for Corrupt Savior after we were left with a cliffy with book one. I had so much scenarios of how everything would play out and nothing compared to what Tara Leigh will bring you. I fell for Damon in book one and now I cannot get him out of my head after book two. He owns the key to my book world heart!
Aislinn has a lot of heart and character. Tara brings her beauty and brain to life with the Wages of Sin duet. I loved how she handle her own. She was a perfect match for Damon. They had their battles and they had their sexy moments that I could not get enough of!
Corrupt Savior is the final conclusion for Aislinn and Damon. The final chapter will have your heart pounding and full of angst. I could not wait to see who will become the ultimate King of NY. From the beginning I had my heart in my throat! I could not turn those pages fast enough. Then you go through more emotions and suspicious wondering who is on the same team or not. I cannot say it enough! Wages of Sin duet were my most anticipated books as of date. I loved these stories and the characters whole heartily!
Sure did not want to miss this one so when I saw it I was excited. Diving in you are quickly submerged once again into this world. You are wrapped around the characters watching their every move. Aislinn is front and center with her being able to have you sit up straighter and at times your mouth will hang open. Then there is Damon whom is also yanking our chain giving us anxious a new meaning. The chemistry will begin to take us in also and make us addicts to the two. There are also those will love to hate and if you could take them out haha. Needless to say you will eat it up from beginning to end coming away with that smile that says you just been satisfied.
This book starts where the first one left off with reminders to refresh your memory. Aislinn has been kidnapped and it determined to survive and get back to her king Damon. Damon is tearing the city apart looking for his Queen and woe to the people or person that is responsible for kidnapping her. The chemistry is hot between the couple and just as intense. This is such a good read and ending for the duet.
I read this one without reading the first in the series. While there were obviously pieces I was missing, I was still able to figure things out. The author does a great job continuing the story from where it had left off while also keeping you on your toes about what was going to happen next!
Everything about this story was great, from the pervasive tension, to the storyline, jam-packed full of twists and turns, to the tangible passion and wonderfully detailed characters. The plot is unique, the characters dynamic, the angst substantial and love uncertain.
Aislin has been kidnapped again and there’s nothing to go on as to why or by whom. Damon will do whatever it takes to bring her back because she is his! Los Muertos drug cartel is still active on the streets of New York City, even though Damon has done all that he can to stop it, but there’s a new player behind the scenes. Sebastian Cruz, the son of the cartel’s leader, finds his way to Aislin, but is it to hurt her or help her. Her father hasn’t been involved with the cartel lately, at least not that she can tell. Loyalties are changing all around them and there are continual and growing plots, as well. Damon hears of a turncoat in his operation but he doesn’t believe it. All this time, the magic between the two of them continues to grow and then comes plummeting down over a misunderstanding or Aislin’s refusal to be treated any way but equally. Finally, having had enough, Aislin walks away from Damon and he fears this is the end. The drama that surrounds them takes a turn and Aislin faces death once more. With more surprises and twists, questions are answered and the loose ends are tied together neatly. One of Tara Leigh’s strengths as a writer is her ability to create a story that’s moving and delightful. Corrupt Savior is a joy to read!
This book continues right from book 1. Damon is frantically on the hunt to find Aislinn. With his team searching for any clues to her whereabouts, Damon feels distraught & fear of what’s being done to her. Aislinn is terrified of what’s happened to her, but knows she must fight to save herself so she can reunite with her king.
Damon realizes his true feelings for Aislinn can no longer be denied. These two are explosive together, with their love finally shining through each other. This book took us on many twists, turns, betrayals & uncovered truths, which gave us an amazing conclusion!
Corrupt Savior is the 2nd and final installment in the Wages of Sin duet. This book picks up right where Cruel Sanctuary left off. Set in a world of political corruption and drug cartels, there is a lot of suspense, action, intrigue, and betrayals. Aislinn really evolved into a strong heroine and is no wilting flower. I like that she pull a damsel in distress, but rather found her inner strength to fight and survive. Damon King. Oh how I love this alpha bad boy. As king of the crime underworld, he cannot afford to show emotion or be anything but calm, cool, and collected and so it was fun to watch him lose himself over Aislinn. The two continue to have intense chemistry and make a great couple. I could not help, but want them to get their HEA. This book keeps you on your toes and entertained until the very end. If you liked Cruel Sanctuary, then you will enjoy Corrupt Savior.

I’m dead! Gah, I had missed my King.
Book 2 was just as epic as the first one. Starting off just has Cruel Sanctuary had ended, we get to see Aisleen being the bada$$ she is. This woman proved exactly what I already knew, she is strong and brave and the perfect match for Damon. While we get to see Aisleen strong side come out, we simultaneously get to see Damon’s vulnerable side. He feels insane without his Queen and he will do anything to get her back but the girl saves herself in this one (sort of).
There were so many surprising and unexpected things happening while Aisleen was held captive, I really loved that part of the plot because it definitely caught me by surprise. And later on, when more things were revealed regarding the whole Los Muertos situation… and trust me I conjured up many teories of my own and I picked up clues that actually weren’t clues at all xD So kudos to you Tara, you got me!
When it comes to Damon and Aisleen’s relationship it was thriving in in the midst of all the chaos and surprises that had them making sudden actions you’ll be happy about and also making them suspicious over everything. It was all good between them until there’s this thing that happens (sorry for the vagueness) and suddenly things are not okay at all. And I just think that this ‘thing’ was taken out of proportion and was just for the sake of having a conflict between them, which to me was not necessary at all, specially with everything else already happening around them. BUT it made Damon finally admit to himself his feelings for Aisleen and want to say those three “little” words. Gah, Damon being romantic was both funny and so darn cute.
When Aisleen learned all the secrets Damon had been keeping about her past, I honestly thought that that would have been the thing that would have caused the conflict between them but no, Aisleen let Damon be there for her and I was so happy about it. Seeing Aisleen learn about her half sister was so emotional, I loved that that made their bond even stronger and that she had family other than Damon and her ailing mother.
Corrupt Savior was everything I was expecting it to be. Damon and Aisleen were both better than ever and I just loved them both so much! You get so many sides of them both in this book. Damon is just as ruthless but you definitely get to see his softer side that only Aisleen can bring out of him. And she was so fierce, her character growth was just amazing! She was a Queen fit to rule alongside her King, there was no one better or no one who could stand beside him other than her. And if you thought that the last book was HOT, then you are not ready for this one! Prepare to be set to flames!
Corrupt Savior was definitely Tara Leigh’s darkest book to date and I loved seeing her venture into a different trope and absolutely rocking it. For someone who just recently started reading dark romances and learning to love them, Tara gave me two delicious books that I loved and devoured and will forever remember. This duet is possibly my favorite ever of her books and yes I have read and loved them all.
This author goes from strength to strength as she brings the concluding novel in this duet.
“She is the air I breathe. The beat of my heart. The light to my dark. The goddess of my dreams.”
Aislinn and Damon are dynamite together! Their relationship showcases fiery passion, all-consuming love, and a tenderness beyond words. Aislinn is an incrediblye strong female character who is more than a match for Damon. Damon is a tough man but Aislinn is definitely his Achilles heel. The author’s words were sheer romantic poetry as she describes both Aislinn and Damon’s feeling for one another. It was the stuff of swoony dreams!
Set against a backdrop of corrupt politics, vicious cartels, and wealth beyond measure, this was a fantastic story in a fantastic duet.
I can’t wait to see what the author delivers next.
Aislinn Granville and Damon King prove they are indeed two sides of a whole in the sexy, head spinning, nail biting conclusion to the Wages of Sin duet.
“An angel bestowed to a devil.”~ Could not have described these two any better! They are the perfect storm.
Picking up right where she left us at the end of Cruel Sanctuary, Damon King is on a mission to find his Queen, and he will let nothing or no one stand in his way. An interesting cast of secondary characters intertwined in the lives of Aislinn and Damon, proceed to take us on quite the rollercoaster suspense ride. Tara Leigh did an exceptional job keeping readers guessing right up until the very end. The what if’s, who’s who, and what’s next just kept on coming. I loved the mystique of this storyline just as much as the animal magnetism of our Corrupt King, and the courage of our feisty Queen. There was never a dull moment, just more and more questions keeping you hooked.
I feel the book is well written and expanded on the events from book 1 quite well. The H/h are easily liked even though our King is a definite alpha. Whenever he chose to throw his weight around, it typically seemed as if Aislinn was in more than just agreement with his show of strength and dominance. These two had incredible chemistry, and I loved the way they reacted to each other. Their banter was hot as heck, and very alluring. Damon King continues to display his prowess with words and deeds and did not disappoint!!
{“You’re not going to fall today, princess. In my arms, you’ll soar.” I hook one of her legs over my shoulder, then the other…..}
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to many more from this author. If you like angsty and edgy mixed into your romance, you’ll love Damon. He’s a swoon worthy, misunderstood, anti-hero that will lay claim to your heart and take pleasure in corrupting you!
The end of Cruel Sanctuary had left me high an dry with that cliffhanger and I couldn’t wait to read the sequel.
It’s been almost a week that I have finished Corrupt Savior, and I am still not sure what to feel about that couple and the story. I loved them, honestly and the story was full of intensity and the ups and downs I like experiencing in a book. But there were moments that I was confused about what it was making me feel and moments where I had lost the emotional connection I had first felt with Damon and Aislinn.
The story this time, I have to say that it was flowing much easier than the last time. I felt the angst, the fear, the pain, the betrayals, the hard situations the characters were finding themselves in and were going through. I loved the passion, the anger, the urgency that was pouring out of Damon while he was searching for Aislinn. I could feel his energy so clearly, it was unbelievable. Aislinn, form the other side, surprised me with her dynamic moments. Her love for Damon and to be the boss of her own life and how to live it, made her invisible and bowing-worthy powerful. A true woman. I love how she fought everyone and everything. Even Damon. Oh gosh, how I loved the moment she took the matters in her own hands and caused reality and his heart to slap her King in the face.
So many lovely moments. So many intense moments. And passion was the bond between all those. I admit that the Epilogue, whether sweet and a real HEA, was kind of dull. It felt kind of rushed if that makes sense. Beautiful but still needed something extra. These two lovers had set from the very start the bar very high. Either way, I loved the story and that extended epilogue had sweetened me even more.
Well done, Tara! I can’t wait to read more of your books in the future. I will be watching out for you. 😉
