I am a corrupt king, ruling a sinful empire. I wasn’t born to the crown.Nevertheless, I wear it well.Aislinn Granville is the Crown Jewel of my empire—my queen. To my enemies, she’s my Achilles heel—a perfect pawn. Without her, I am a wounded warrior. A ruthless, relentless beast. There is nowhere she can be taken that I won’t find her.No adversary I won’t crush to get her back.Even if I have to … won’t crush to get her back.
Even if I have to burn this city to the ground.

This book really shows off Damon’s personality. If you’ve read Cruel Sanctuary then you know how the book starts. That cliff hanger! This one is action packed till the end.
I feel like anything I say in this review can in no way be good enough for what I just read. Corrupt Savior was everything I wanted for Damon and Aislinn. If you’re checking out this book than I hope you’ve read Cruel Sanctuary… if you haven’t, stop now… spoilers for book 1 ahead!! This book picks up right after Aislinn was grabbed. Damon is losing his shit and tearing up the city looking for his woman. Aisinn isn’t some damsel in distress waiting for her man though. Oh no, no this is one tough cookie and she’s totally trying to get away just as much as Damon wants her back! I had so much more respect for her after her kidnapping… not that I didn’t respect her before but now she was a fierce and strong woman.
I’m completely smitten with this book… Corrupt Savior is a top read of the year for me! Like it’s beyond 5 stars…. totally 10 stars of amazingness!!! I loved the playful side we get to see of Damon. I needed that side to him and it was that last bit that nudged me over the ledge and falling completely feet over head! He has this sweet side of him that I had no idea it was hidden in there.
Corrupt Savior was darker than the first book IMO.
Bloodier.
Violent.
Savage.
Sexy AF.
Damon comes out, literally, swinging. He takes them all down. Like I said before, Aislin gets a little dirty herself and she seriously earned her Queen title… to Damon’s King. They are a match… the ying to the yang… two halves of a heart… two rulers of their kingdom.
“But he is more savior than destroyer, more kind than cruel.
He is the king of our castle, as I am his queen. We rule as equals.
And we’ve found our forever, together.”
I had no idea Damon King could make me laugh when my tension is so high! But that is just what he did! I have no idea how Tara Leigh knows what emotion to put where but she does it, flawlessly. Just when I think I’m going to shriek and toss my Kindle, she surprises me with a simple statement that calms me before the real storm begins! I’m gonna stop before I just ramble on forever spouting my love for this book, for this entire duet. I’m impressed with Tara Leigh’s writing. She has earned her spot upon my automatic One-Click authors. Her words flow. She’s tragic and beautiful. Her characters are developed so much that I feel like they are real. When an author can make me feel the story deep in my bones… care for her characters like they’re my friends… hurt when the story is over… that is when I know I’ve found an author that resonates with me… that’s when I hold onto an author. You can’t shake me now Tara!!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
After the cliffhanger in Cruel Sanctuary, I was ready for this book. Aislinn continues to grow in strength and resilience. She is forced to face to corrupt underbelly of society because of her father. However, this princess doesn’t wait in the tower for her prince; she saves herself. Damon develops a softer side as his feelings for Aislinn grow. Add in a few plot twists and this made a nice end to this book duet.
I received an Advanced Reading Copy of this book. I am freely reading my honest review.
I’ve been waiting for this since the ending of Cruel Sanctuary and this book picks up right where it left off. We are wondering what is going to happen with Aislynn, is she safe etc. I was worried that Damon would go off the deep end and not be able to return, that his darkness would take control and he’d be lost in it for good, but I was surprised he did lose some control and was out of his element when he realized how much Aislynn meant to him and what he would do to get her back. I was also proud of the strength that Aislynn found, she was already a strong willed person but in this book she dug deep and found a strength she didn’t know she had and it was thanks to Damon. He showed her she could be resilient and someone who could be strong enough to live in his world. I also loved how they came together to find out he couldn’t just be her protector standing in front of her keeping her in the dark about things because the less she knows the safer she’s is mentality, no Damon had to realize they were better as equals doing things together and that’s just what they did. Also those epilogues!!! This book had it all suspense, those steamy moments, holy cow those steamy moments, and a Corrupt King finding his equal in his Queen.
The conclusion to Damon and Aislinn is much like the first book. A Push and Pull between them about who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s got twists and turns to keep you on your feet, but an HEA nonetheless. you can feel the love these two share come off the pages in this book. This is a great series of the Anti-hero getting the win.
What a perfect ending to this duet! The continuing story of Damon and Aislinn is so full of intrigue, sadness, happiness, tragedy and most definitely lust. But can their love prevail? So much goes on in this story that your head will spin and I loved every word. As Damon and Aislinn struggle with their new relationship, events happen that make them rethink everything. Can Aislinn really live in Damon’s world knowing what he does? And can Damon prove to Aislinn his devotion to her without ever saying those three little words? These two have incredible chemistry and I loved how Aislinn showed that she was no pushover, even when faced with life issues. And as for Damon, is he really all that bad of a person? His feelings for Aislinn are foreign to him, but he would move heaven and earth for her. I really enjoyed this duet and highly recommend that everyone read it as well.
Corrupt Savior, using concise writing and riveting events, left me obsessed, with my mind consumed and fixation intensified. Dark and full of angst, this thrilling conclusion contained enough danger and needed grit to give this duet and couple’s relationship justice it deserved. Nothing is held back as we’re thrown straight into an action filled scenario that will leave your heart beating frantically as suspense ridden events unfold.
“The one woman I shouldn’t have has become the one woman I can’t live without.”
Damon’s allure only increases in this duet’s closure. We’ve witnessed this anti-hero be ruthless and merciless—this goes up tenfold when someone threatens Aislinn—though this seeming careless and emotionless attitude is pushed aside by an unforeseen, hidden tenderness. Damon demonstrates an uncharacteristic sweetness that leaves your emotions soaring in absolute glee, because there’s nothing better than seeing an asshole anti-hero have a soft spot for the heroine.
In adversity, Aislinn transforms into a heroine with newfound strength. Despite the unfortunate circumstances she’s in, Aislinn’s feistiness and determination doesn’t wane, and her unwavering confidence and resolute nature reminds us that she’s a perfect woman for Damon. She’s managed to unveil Damon’s emotionally vulnerable side hiding underneath a facade of conceited arrogance and raw dominance that leads towards a more heartfelt, emotionally charged relationship.
“I don’t know what it’s like not to love you, princess.”
Seeing Damon’s connection with Aislinn change is beautifully romantic and dramatically exciting. It started unconventionally with no affection, but the draw between them is undeniable and inevitably leads towards a blooming romance that flourishes into something formidable. Even when their relationship is tested by sudden internal threats, the deceit that threatens to separate this couple only strengthens the connection they’ve forged.
Delivered in short though sweet sentences, Corrupt Savior doesn’t lack excitement or intense suspense. It delves into a titillating dark but tame romance and delivers a sensuous, uninhibited narrative that won’t disappoint. You’ll be rendered enamoured and enthralled by this closure, with all of the complicated situations the characters find themselves traversing.
I really loved the action in this book but Aislinn was kind of pissing me off. She kept changing her mind over and over about being with Damon like in a flash. The writing was good and the story was good. I just don’t know if I could connect with Aislinn in the conclusion.
This was book 2 of the Wages of Sin Duet, and it did not disappoint! This was an excellent dark and twisted series!
5 Stars
Corrupt Savior is the second and final book in the Wages of Sin Series by Tara Leigh. As with the first book, this is a romantic suspense with plenty of danger, violence, action, emotion, intensity, drama, mystery, intrigue, and Sizzle. The story picks up where book one left off- so this is not a standalone- you really must read book one before starting this one as there is vital information and character details contained in the first book which you will need in order to follow the story.
Aislinn and Damon are really great characters- I was wrapped up in their story, following along expectantly, while everything played out. This conclusion to the series doesn’t disappoint- it certainly packed a punch on many levels. The story is brutal in parts, while delivering some gripping suspense, heartaching emotional scenes, sweet and tender moments…. and plenty of steamy encounters! The ending was superb- tying everything up beautifully!!
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Leigh does next!
Thank you, Ms. Leigh!
Corrupt Savior was the riveting and explosive conclusion to Tara Leigh’s Wages of Sin duet. The first book, Cruel Sanctuary, ended with the most terrific cliffhanger, and this book did not disappoint with a dark and sensuous journey for Aislinn and Damon.
Once again, Aislinn and Damon had amazing chemistry that sizzled off the pages. In many ways, you know these characters complete each other’s soul, but they don’t know how to love each other.
“Aislinn Granville is my gift from a god I stopped believing in years ago. An angel bestowed to a devil. I’ll take her. I’ll treasure her. I’ll live for her. I’ll die for her.”
Nevertheless, the absoluteness of Damon’s feelings are known to the reader, but Aislinn has her doubts and deservedly so with Damon’s reluctance to open his heart to her.
“I’m not running away because I’m mad at you. I’m leaving because you’ve shown me I have nothing to stay for.”
This gut-wrenching tension amidst the intrigue of trying to figure out who was friend and who was foe, kept me turning the pages of this book until the very end.
Tara’s writing continues to be so decadent in its poetry. I find myself basking in her language and words whenever I read one of her books. She’s also such an amazing storyteller, unraveling the story at the perfect pace to keep the reader interested and sometimes surprised.
I highly recommend this duet! Corrupt Savior is not a stand-alone novel. Cruel Sanctuary should be read first. It is told from dual POV, and I guarantee you will be wanting more stories for some of the secondary characters from this world!
Hold my phone. Hold my kindle. Hold the remnants of my heart. Hold what’s left of my soul. Because Corrupt Savior by Tara Leigh has annihilated me. Corrupt Savior has ruined me. Corrupt Savior has destroyed every part of me. Every morsel of my being was left in pieces. Corrupt Savior shattered me. Wow, let me tell you, Tara Leigh truly wrote a special book. A special book with an all consuming story. A captivating book with incredible characters that hold a place in my heart. An incredible book that truly deserves to be on top of my list. Corrupt Savior will definitely give you the best reading journey you will ever hope for.
With intrigue and heart stopping suspense, Corrupt Savior is the titillating final book in Wages of Sin duet that delves into a powerful passion and dark romance of Damon King and Aislinn Granville. A beautifully intense and nail biting end to such brilliant story. Corrupt Savior corrupted me. Corrupt Savior cleverly manipulated me. Action-packed, Steamy. Dangerously epic. Heart pumping romance. Corrupt Savior is the perfect conclusion with a dramatic and explosive story. Thrilling ride. Exciting end. Mesmerising characters. Tara Leigh brings all the sparks, excitement and heat with perfectly executed writing that pulls you in. Her writing always draws you in. For me, it plunged me into her beautiful storytelling. Corrupt Savior is a bonafide amazing read.
Omg, Damon and Aislinn just sizzle. My goodness, I felt my kindle was going to explode with all the passion and heat Damon and Aislinn produced. In Cruel Sanctuary, Damon and Aislinn absolutely wrecked me with their attraction and sexy chemistry, In Corrupt Savior, they blew my mind with their deep love for each other and electrifying chemistry. Damon King as dominant and commanding as ever and Aislinn as strong and sassy as ever. They made the perfect couple to read about.
I am always emotional when I finish a series. The story lives in you and the characters become a part of you. The Wages of Sin duet truly became a part of my heart. I highly recommend this series. Seriously one of my 2019 top series.
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the duet and book one needs to be read first.
Damon King’s life has changed in a moment when he lets Aislinn Granville go and now he must live with the consequences and do what he can to bring her back.
But Damon learns that there could me a mole in his organization and could it be Finley or is it someone else that he trusts?
Can Damon put all the pieces together before it’s too late and he loses Aislinn for good?
This was a great conclusion to this duet!
Damon is a great character but we begin to see more of his weaknesses when he loses Aislinn and you get to see a side of him that is struggling with putting all of the pieces together. I really liked Burke and how well the two of them began to put everything together.
There was still some characters that I was unsure about and I really liked the way certain things played out and I knew a couple of things were changing when Sebastian Cruz did something in particular towards the beginning of the book.
I was super curious about the mole and I really hoped it wasn’t who Aislinn thought it was due to some other things that hadn’t been revealed.
I knew why Sebastian and Damon wanted Aislinn to work for her dad but she was determined to stay away and I was definitely worried about what was going to happen after Aislinn made a certain choice. I really liked that Damon was willing to do whatever it took to pick the pieces back up and win Aislinn back.
The end definitely shocked me about who was working together and I was glad that Damon was able to
get there on time!
I really hope we get more in this series as I don’t want to let go yet!! I think Finley needs a story of her
own! By Rebecca
CORRUPT SAVIOR is the conclusion of Damon and Aislinn’s story. Will the KING rescue the princess in time to admit that he wants her as his QUEEN.
Just when I thought this duet couldn’t get any better. The twists and secrets exposed made me glued to this book that I read it in one sitting. Aislinn was a BADASS and proved even more why she belonged to be by Damon’s side. Damon would do just about anything to get his Queen.
This duet is just another reason why I will read ANYTHING that Tara writes. She will give you the angst, tragic past/presents and steamy dirty love.
Four and a half stars!
I loved the continuation of Damon and Aislinn’s story in Corrupt Savior. In the beginning you get more of Damon’s point of view for longer chapters. Sebastian played an interesting role as well and the twists and turns throughout the book. This was an amazing duet that I recommend for anyone!
I don’t think the conclusion to Damon and Aislinn’s story could have gotten any better!
This book was everything I wanted, and more importantly everything I needed! The love between Damon and Aislinn can be difficult and rocky, not without it’s faults, but the love between them is also solid and passionately unwavering. On one hand you had the dark king, who never thought he could love or be worthy of love. And on the other hand you have the ice princess who tried to make her father happy and in the process living a half life.
But when these two souls collide…fireworks.
They may seem like two pieces of a completely different puzzle, but in actuality they fit more perfectly than anyone could imagine. They are light and dark, fire and ice, justice and corruption. They might seem like polar opposites, but together they are completely whole. A fully functioning empire ready to take on the world, together.
The unmoving, undeniable love between Aislinn and Damon is beautiful, vulnerable, and raw. They fill the void each was looking for.
I can’t say enough about this incredible book. Tara Leigh has wrote a story I have no doubt will stick with me. A book that I will always refer to as a favorite and recommend to all I know. She has a fan for life!
Corrupt Savior is book two in The Wages of Sin duet by Tara Leigh. This book begins right where book one – Cruel Sanctuary ends. With a few subtle reminders the author sweeps you right back in to the seedy underworld of Manhattan politics and crime, and off of the cliff she left us on when book one ended! This book doesn’t miss a beat! Aislinn has been taken and Damon is tearing Manhattan apart looking for her! Aislinn isn’t quite sure Damon is looking for her after the last encounter they had, but she is determined to save herself!
And although she has been the victim in her childhood, she was not going to let it happen this time. Not now!
Damon struggles with the fact that he was supposed to be protecting Aislinn and he let her down! He is the one who was supposed to be her sanctuary when all hell is breaking loose! And he will go to any length to get her back. But it seems he may not have to!
Aislinn became the woman you knew she could be all along in this story! She doesn’t allow her past to bog her down in the present! And, while she loves being in Damon’s arms, she also can hold her own when she needs to! And she proves herself time and again!
The chemistry between these two main characters doesn’t miss a beat from book one to book two! And they connect on an even deeper levelin this book!
There are some sweltering love scenes in this book, but I must admit – it offers so much more! Jammed packed with action, mystery and mayhem, its an amazing duet series!
Highly recommend both books – Cruel Sanctuary & Corrupt Savior!
I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first book in the duet. It was anticlimactic after the cliffhanger ending to the previous one. I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
I liked Damon and Aislinn once again, but honestly, besides their emotional journey and growth, this book was underwhelming. I was expecting a high stakes, no holds barred finale…and I didn’t get that. Without spoiling something, I’ll just say I wanted more about Ace, more of actual things happening, more than sex and the characters being lost in their heads.
Another thing I noticed was a lot of repetition; I don’t mind some things being repeated throughout a book to remind us, but it felt like Aislinn’s appearance was being discussed every other chapter, and in the same words every time: her blue eyes, her silky skin, her ink black eyelashes, her golden hair, etc. We really only needed those kinds of things mentioned once, twice max. If the reader forgot what the character looked like in the span of a 250 page book, then let them imagine them however they want.
I thought Finley was going to have a much bigger part in this book, but that didn’t happen. We didn’t even see Aislinn’s parents, just saw some mentions/phone conversations with them. For being a decent sized book, and how much I love Cruel Sanctuary, I just expected more. This fell flat for me unfortunately.
Corrupt Savior picks up where Cruel Sanctuary leaves off. A forced separation has both our heroine, Aislinn, and our Hero, Damon, reflecting on how much the other person means to them. The story continues from a dual point of view so we feel the deep guilt and angst Damon experiences when he realizes Aislinn may always be in danger because of his lifestyle. Meanwhile, we see how tough Aislinn is when she decides to go on the offensive to get herself out of a dangerous situation. Later, once they are reunited and more truths are revealed, Aislinn is no longer sure her feelings for Damon are enough to overcome the secrets he’s kept from her. Is Damon capable of returning the love? Is she being used by Damon the same way her father used her? So many questions and plenty of twisty turns keeps the reader guessing until the end. Would have liked to see more details played out at the end, but instead it felt wrapped up too quickly. Solid finish to the duet!
Corrupt Savior is the final book of the Wages of Sin duet and continues the story where it left off. If you’ve read book 1, then you will know that it ended in a cliffhanger and I’m so thankful that I’ve read it when book 2 is near to be released. I’m getting old and I don’t think my heart can take anymore cliffies. LOL.
As Damon tried to find his princess, he came to accept his feelings for Aislinn and that he will do anything, everything even burn the whole world to get her back *swoon* While Aislinn grew to be more strong in character and as I’m sure she will be with all of these situations she was in. I don’t think anyone will be the same person if you’re in this kind of situation. Either this will break you or empower you.
This duet is one heck of roller coaster ride; from the suspense, the heat, the deceit, lies and mysteries which were finally answered, I must say that I have enjoyed this immensely and I’m looking forward to read from this author again.
