Garrett Wilder is rich, famous, and totally bad for me. After one night that ended with me wanting to punch him in his face, the self-absorbed rockstar has become a permanent fixture in my life…Whether I like it or not.Now I’m forced to see him every day, and that shield I put up to protect my heart is quickly crumbling to the ground. I’ve gone from hating him to craving him. And the scariest … the scariest part is that he feels the same.
He wants to know me.
He wants to own me.
He wants to corrupt me.
And if I’m not careful…
I just might let him.
AUTHOR NOTE This book is the first in the Civil Corruption series, but can be read as a standalone. All Civil Corruption books will have their own happily ever afters.

Jessica Prince: thank you!!!
This was a great book but I personally feel like the main Alpha didn’t grovel enough for forgiveness. The heroine was strong and feisty, which I love and halfway through the main man certainly became better but I felt that it wasn’t enough transition time for the forgiveness to set in. Loved how it ended and it was still a very enjoyable read!
I was an absolute mess reading this book and loved every minute of it! Prince is a new author to me and I randomly came across this book in my kindle unlimited recommendations and boy was I a happy reader.
Ladies and Gents gird your loins while reading this book because its one hell of a roller coaster of emotional romance and rock star heaven. This is the first book in the Civil Corruption series, there is going to be four total as there are four band members to get addicted too, and they are sexy as *bleep*.
Anyways this story follows the sweetly heartbroken Gwen, she has been hit with one blow after another, losing both her parents and trying to start fresh in a new city with her bestie. She takes a chance at a party that is supposedly hosted by a popular band. But feeling way out of her comfort zone, she leave the chaos of party to go to a quite part of the house, where she runs into Garrett. Unknown to her, he’s the drummer for the band whose throwing the party. They have a connection, they talk and bond through the night. But its not the same the next morning when reality hits and Gwen is face with the *real* Garrett. But life takes a crazy turn when she finds out after their night together she has another shocker to add to her list.
There is a lot of ups and downs for Gwen and Garrett, they may have a connection but Gwen has seen a side of Garrett that she is determined to have nothing to do with. And frankly I didn’t blame her one bit. I would do exactly what she did in her position. Gwen is very headstrong and independent, she is loyal, passionate and has such a good heart for her friends and family. I hurt for her when she was hurting and wanted her to find happiness for her and Liddy.
Garrett is a jerk and as the reader you will not like him for a lot of reason, redemption is key for him and he has a lot to make up for. But he is surrounded by so many negative things, the life of a celebrity is anything but happy, there are drugs, groupies, corrupt media and people who supposedly are suppose to help you, and don’t. So I was sometimes on his side but mostly 80% on Gwen side of things.
In the end I loved this story because neither of these characters are perfect, they are both trying to do their best and sometimes they fail without trying too. The secondary characters are freaking perfect, I loved Gwen’s bestie and Garrett’s bodyguard, they added a great amount of cuteness and humor. Then there are the other members of the band, they are all extremely flawed and a hot mess, so I can’t wait to see where their stories take them.
Corrupt is the first book in Jessica Prince’s Civil Corruption series. It follows four members of a band at the height of their success. Corrupt specifically focuses on Garrett, the drummer, and Gwen.
After one night together, Gwen finds herself pregnant. She and Garrett spend the next three years coparenting until Garrett decides that he wants more. Gwen, obviously hesitant, isn’t sure that’s what is best for not only herself, but for their daughter, Liddy. But Garrett is insistent and persistent in his quest to win Gwen’s heart.
I was a little hesitant about this book at first. I’m generally not a huge fan of guys who are complete jerks to a woman, and trust me, Garrett certainly was. But there is something about redemption that calls to me, as well. And Garrett does that, and does it well! I loved Gwen and her devotion to her daughter, and her desire to always put her daughter’s needs above her own.
I love a good rocker story! Corrupt was just what I was looking for!
Everyone kept saying, you have to read Jessica Prince. I kept putting it off and putting it off because my TBR was completely out of control. But I bit the bullet finally and have absolutely no regrets. I do enjoy a good Rock star story/series and Civil Corruption promises to be a great series. Gwen is the small town girl, feeling lost in the world, who has a night to remember….but must deal with the morning after pain and consequences. Garrett is the quintessential rock star…drummer extraordinaire who can have any woman he wants. He is also not the nicest guy….on the surface. But when he makes Gwen a deal she can’t say no to….Gwen finds herself falling for the man she sees under the surface. Can these two from VERY different worlds, find a way to co-exist? I can’t wait to read the other guys’ stories.
What a fantastic story. I laughed, I cried and I definitely swooned. Jessica Prince did a wonderful job writing an entertaining and completely believable story. The characters are fantastic, their thoughts, feelings, conflicts and story make the characters come to life. I easily and instantly related to Gwen and grew to love Garret right along with her. I look forward to reading more books in this series!
Garrett and Gwen had one night and were bound to each other… This is a story of second chances… fame and fortune can be a curse.. with it there is always price to pay… Gwen with her insecurity and low self confidence can be a pain sometimes 🙂 love the book with roller coaster emotion…
This book was a bit different then what I have been reading lately. However, with that said I did enjoy it. The only thing is the interaction between the characters was a lot of fighting. Don’t get me wrong I understand why it was happen and it never got physical, just lots of verbal. Other than that it was a good book.
Garrett Wilder is a famous drummer for Civil Corruption who is known for sleeping with anything that has legs. So, of course he has a one night stand that results in something more. He does have a place in his daughters life however, it is not much because of how often he is away on tour and doing everything else with the band. Garrett is also very demanding and does what he wants to get what he wants.
Gwen Carson has had so much happen in her life that it didn’t turn out the way she thought it would. So, when her best friend talks her into going to a party that Civil Corruption is throwing she goes even if she knows its not what she is into. She ends up having a one night stand with Garrett not knowing who he is, that ends up with so much more. She raises her daughter alone for three years before Garrett comes back wanting/demanding more. At first Gwen doesn’t want or need anything from him however, he has a way of breaking down all the walls that she has built up.
In the end they do end up with their happily ever after. This does not happen without a lot of struggle and outside interference that tries to end it before it can really happen.
I honestly don’t know what I was expecting when I picked this up to read this book. I seriously can’t even think straight after finishing it. I can only tell you that it’s Amazing in every way. I was glad for a strong female lead vs the normal pushovers in most books. Gwen wasn’t putting up with anyone without giving it right back. I just love that attitude part of her. I hated Garrett after how he dealt with things regarding Gwen at the beginning. Thankfully, he redeemed himself and became very likable. I absolutely loved this story. I’ll definitely be finishing this series. I also can’t wait to read more of this author’s other books.
Corrupt is the first installment in the Civil Corruption series and let’s just say it’s one heck of kick off to start the series. Garrett Wilder is the bad boy drummer with a heart of gold and sexy as all get out. Gwen Carson is the transplant to Seattle that’s been dealt some heavy heartache but is as tough as nails. Their relationship isn’t conventional. They have a past and some not so nice people to deal with to make it work. Told from Gwen’s POV, Corrupt is an awesome rock romance. Band members, management, best friends and other secondary characters add to a compelling storyline. The writing is smooth and flows with ease. Definitely a must read. Can’t wait for the next book in the series featuring Declan and Tate.
A new to me author and wow! Great read!!! Sexy rock star that is such an arsehole! A surprise twist and how redemption is oh do sweet. Can’t wait for more from this band.
