A great book that I love to reread time and time again. Caleb is a big time MMA star that has returned to the place he use to vacation with his family to get some much needed rest and relaxation along with training for an upcoming fight. Honor has struggled all her life, the only family member she had, her grandfather, passed away leaving her all alone. She lives in a run down shack and is the town outcast, so she does what she has to to get by and survive. She cleans the vacation houses in town and has known Caleb for years but he use to hangout the town bully who treated Honor like crap so she stays away form him. Caleb has always had a crush on Honor and doesn’t quite understand where her animosity towards him is coming from so he starts to pursue her. These two had amazing chemistry and fought hard for each other.
I have loved every ‘Fighting’ book written by JB Salsbury to date. This one, I loved even more because it was combined with two of my all time favorite series, Corp Security and Hope Town. Everything about Caleb touched every button inside me. And I adored Honor, from her fierce protection of anything weaker than herself to her random facts when she’s nervous! Together these two are perfect!!! Add in the fact I got to touch base with some of my all time favorite alpha males and their families and it made for a fantastic book!!!
I really enjoyed this book which joins J.B. Salsbury’s Fighting Series and Harper Sloan’s Corps Security series. Caleb has been training fighters in England for a few years, but he is now back in the states to train for an upcoming fight. He goes to Hope Town, Georgia where he vacationed as a kid. Honor has had a terrible time growing up. She was horribly bullied and things haven’t really gotten any better. When these two reconnect the sparks begin to fly. Will they be able to find their way together or will insecurity and the past keep them from forging a future? It was great checking in with some of the characters I love from each of these series.

Fighting for Honor was written by JB Salsbury, who is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
Fighting for Honor was a cross over for Salisbury’s Fighting series and Harper Sloan’s Corps Security series.
Caleb “The Destroyer” Dean was a popular MMA fighter. As a child, his favorite vacations were spent in Hope Town, Ga and he decided that would be a great place to hide out and train for his next big fight.
Honor Cartwright was born and raised in Hope Town but she was an outsider since she was poor and the granddaughter of a war vet that some called crazy. She was currently scraping by through cleaning rental houses and cooking for vacationers.
Fighting for Honor was aptly named. Honor was bullied her entire life by the locals. She remembered Caleb from childhood. He was two years older, usually nice to her but he always hung with the bullying crowd so she wanted nothing to do with him. The moment Caleb laid eyes on her again he was bound and determined to earn her friendship and win her over.
Salsbury took us through a journey of overcoming bullying, healing, learning confidence, standing ground and learning to live a life of self worth. Simultaneously she took us through the rigorous schedule of training for a fight. And lastly, she gifted us with our long time favorites from both series.
All in all, it was entertaining, well written, fun, humorous and a quick read. I’m not sure Salisbury’s direction next, but wherever she chooses to lead, I’ll follow.
I am a huge fan of JB Salsbury’s Fighting series and I really enjoyed Harper Sloan’s Corps Security series. So it was a no-brainer for me to pick this book up. Normally, I find novellas to be on the short side and find it difficult to fully connect to the characters. However, that was not the case with Fighting for Honor. I was surprised with how much of a complete story the author was able to tell with this book. There was no rushing and nothing seemed forced. JB did an incredible job with the plot and characters. Caleb was protective but not overbearing, Honor was a very strong woman that had been hurt in the past. Honor definitely didn’t make it all too easy for Caleb to come into her life, but I was also glad that she didn’t play hard to get.
These two were made for each other. This was a great contemporary romance, with very steamy sex scenes. Even though, I was satisfied with this novella, I would’ve still loved for them to get a full-length novel. After finishing this book, I am even more excited for the last book in the Fighting Series: The Final Fight.
The setting for this book was done in Harper Sloan’s Corp Security world. The main characters and story are from JB Salsbury’s Fighting series. Normally we dont get a slew of characters from the “world” the author is writing in but this time we got plenty of familiar characters from both series who interacted through the whole book..
Caleb Dean grew up vacationing in Hope Town. He always loved the town and when he needs a place to train for a big upcoming UFL fight he picks to train there right on the lake he has such fond memories of. What he didn’t expect to find is the grown up version of the young girl who he always had the hots for all those summers is the cook hired to feed him during his training.
Honor Cartwright grew up poor, living in basically a shack with her eccentric Grandfather who filled her head with tons of history of previous wars. She always loved him, no matter his eccentricities. But she never had the confidence to reach out and make friends of those in the town she grew up in so now that her Grandfather has past she basically a slave to one of the town bullies she grew up with who owns the shack and the land she grew up on.
This book had it all.. A sweet romance with a man full of honor who in turns fights with honor for Honor.. Plus, plenty of humor and characters from two series I love.
This book is a part of the Corps Security in Hope Town series, a Kindle Worlds book. It’s part of the Fighting series by JB Salsbury and has characters from the Hope Town and the Corps Security series by Harper Sloan. I’ve read most of the Fighting series books, all of the Corps Security books, and all but one of the Hope Town books. I can honestly say, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all!
Fighting for Honor is (so far) the last book in the Fighting series and features Caleb and Honor. Caleb has come back to the US after training UFL fighters in England for a few years. As a kid, his family vacationed in Hope Town, and since it’s close to the venue for his big fight, he’s chosen to live and train there for a few months. Since he’s a big name prepping for a big fight, the men of Corps Security are featured as his security team. A couple of the women also make an appearance, too. And who could forget Sway?! He’s got a cameo in here as well. Honor is working for the owner of the house Caleb is renting and is the housekeeper and cook for him. When Caleb figures out she’s the girl he had a bit of a crush on his last summer in Hope Town; it’s game on for him. Since Honor was bullied by a group of guys he used to hang with those summers, she’s not interested at first. But since he was nice to her, despite the others, there’s a glimmer of something, and she finally gives him a chance.
What I love about books like this is that you get a glimpse of old favorite characters who bond together with the new guy to save the girl. And Caleb really IS a good guy. So I totally rooted for him from the beginning. Honor is understandably shy and unsure of herself and others. But, I really felt for her after all that she’d been through in her life. And Honor is still being bullied, so seeing the bullies get their due did my heart good. The character development in this story is excellent, and you know right away who to love and who you need to hate. This book had me interested and hooked from page one. It’s a stand-alone book, but if you truly want to appreciate all the minor characters and their personalities, you will get more out of the story if you read the Fighting books, the Corps Security books, and the Hope Town books. And all of those are worth the price and the time, in my humble opinion!
Rating: I’m giving this a book a solid 5 stars!
