They promised me as tribute.
Youngest of six, I’m untouched.
Unblemished.
And in the world of the Irish mafia…
Wanted.
I’m given to a man I’ve never met.
Forced into a union I didn’t condone.
Owned by a dangerous rival.
He may take what’s his, but he won’t steal my heart.
I love this series so much!!! Every time I think that I have a favorite from this author, she comes out with the next one. Cormac was so awesome, and now has become my favorite, which was Keenan. Have you read any of Jane Henry’s books yet? If you have not, I would highly recommend that you do. She is an awesome writer that always writes stories that I cannot put down and end up loving.
In Cormac, we have the second son of a mafia boss who is forced to marry a girl name Aileen. Who is fresh out of college. She is of a rival clan of Cormac’s are the match is in hopes of uniting them. The question Aileen has is her new husband cruel? Will he hurt her? Will she be a prisoner in her own home?
What can I say, I love a good mafia story and this series has proven so far to be at my top fave. If you like a good dominant man, which Cormac is, and spitfire female leads who take no crap. This story is for you!!!
I read this via ku and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is book 2 in the series. Can be read alone but best if you start with Keenan. If you love a possessive, domineering man – Cormac is your guy.
Triggers: assault, murder, spanking
**spoilers**
Cormac, 2nd son and enforcer for the McCarthy’s.
Aileen, youngest daughter of the McCarthy’s rival, forced to marry Cormac to keep peace between the families.
It starts rough. Aileen doesn’t want to be married and fights against Cormac’s domineering ways. An accident happens, Aileen loses her memory and Cormac uses the time to woo her.
More action, drama and I don’t want to give all the details but eventually a HEA.
This is the second book in the Dangerous Doms series, but don’t worry if you haven’t read book 1 because it won’t affect your enjoyment or understanding of this standalone read. I didn’t read book 1 and didn’t have any issues. This is the story of Cormac and Aileen, from opposing Irish Mafia families, who have to marry to stop a war. I hesitated to read this book because while I’m a fan of the author, I’m over the bad boy/mafia genre. But I gave this a shot (I think the cover sucked me in!) and I loved it. The characters make this story worth it with their sass and energy, each of them willing to work at an arranged marriage before it stops becoming just an arrangement. I couldn’t help reading along and hearing those wonderful Irish accents in my head.
This was a good story with great characters, but very little in the sexytimez. There was losing virginity sex, reconnect sex, and oral in a limo sex. They went to a sex club and there wasn’t any sex club sex?!!? What?! I was disappointed. There was also a plot element that made me scratch my head and wonder why it was even necessary. I liked it overall, but it could have been way better.
Aileen is given to Cormac to keep the peace between mob family’s.
Aileen has been used and abused, wed and bred, punished and tamed. Cormac has done his duty to his “family”, but feelings are developing for both of them.
Enemies, danger, manipulation, pain, betrayal, loss and new life await.
Their journey to a HEA in a world fraught with danger, rules and consequences will form a heart/family bond nothing will break!
Well since I am staying at home for awhile I have been making the most of my KU subscription and Cormac fit today’s mood. I read Keenan and enjoy a good Irish mafia type story so I was happy that Jane Henry is continuing with the series. Cormac is second in command and his brother has arranged for a marriage between him and a rival gang’s last single daughter. Aileen hasn’t had many happy moments in her 22 years and being forced into an arranged marriage isn’t to her liking. She tries to flee but is brought home to be punished and married nonetheless. It isn’t going to be smooth sailing for these two strangers but hopefully through a lot of adversity they will be drawn together. It was an enjoyable escape from reality and was low on angst and high on heat! It’s told from dual POV and I recommend reading it but read Keenan first so that you understand the full family dynamics.
Book 2 in this Dark Irish Mafia series, this is Cormac’s tale, Keenan’s brother and his second in command. In restitution to their father being shot in book 1, the Martin clan have offered a virgin bride to them in order to grant peace between the clans, and it is Cormac that must do his duty and marry the girl.
Aileen has had a rough upbringing, all her siblings having been sold off to other clans or men, she is the youngest and the last, and is not planning on sticking around to marry one of the McCarthy clan.
Aileen is taken aback at how different the clans are, hers are rough and mean having no family values whilst the McCarthy’s value their family and their women, are fiercely loyal and will protect them at all costs. Cormac is taken with her fierce ways and sassy mouth and is determined to make her his. But there is an accident or is it an attempt on her life, and Aileen is injured.
This was a decent enough read, I didn’t warm to the characters really until later on in the book, when Cormac’s protective and vulnerable side came out, making him a bit more human. Aileen was a bit hit a miss for me, seemingly having two different personalities which hampered the ability to connect with her for me. Still I enjoyed the story line and look forward to reading the next one in the series.
Well DAMN!!! This is quite an exciting story of two rival clans uniting through marriage in order to maintain peace. Cormac is the brother of the chief of the McCarthy clan. He is an extremely strong, powerful, alpha male, who must be obeyed. As next in line as leader, he agrees to marry Aileen from the Martin clan to maintain peace. Aileen is a sassy, feisty, independent woman. Aileen is given no choice; she is being forced into this marriage. The Martin clan is violent and abusive to everyone, including their women. Expecting the same from the McCarthy clan, Aileen runs away. She is quickly found, soundly punished (by Cormac), married and bedded.
This story took me on a twisted journey that was dark and charged with danger and violence, but it was also full of intensity, caring, humor, respect and excitedly HOT sex. While Aileen tried Cormac’s patience, he was magnificently in control and determined to protect her as well as win her heart.
As with all of Jane Henry’s books, this one was hot and thoroughly enjoyable and I cannot wait for more!
A union is what it is Cormac must marry from the Martin clan to stop a war. Aileen was going to be a lamb to the slaughter, so she done the best thing run, now she’s caught, and whipped by a stranger until she sees the stranger at her wedding and his her husband. Wow and that’s the opening, everything is so alpha there is no softness in Cormac until Aileen what he saw as a burden quickly turns into something else, absolutely loved this you can’t put it down. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
A thrilling go from the beginning. An arranged marriage for peace, that does not start out that way. Cormac, second in command to his Clan, is to marry Aileen, from a rival clan. It does not start off in the peaceful way it’s supposed to, Aileen is a bit mouthy and has attitude, but Cormac has no problem working on getting that taken care of. Their relationship is new, they’re getting to know each other, and in the midst of that, the ladies are attacked, Aileen has amnesia, and they have to start over, again. I really loved Cormac, his bad a**ness, but his sides of caring & protectiveness to Aileen. He never falters even when she’s lost & confused. And of course, there’s the danger that goes with being around the mafia. But I so loved the setting of Ireland. Loved this!!! Can’t wait for more!!!
A fabulous read from a new to me author!
Cormac was completely dominant, completely alpha, and completely swoon-worthy.
Second in command, he took his duties to his family very seriously, so when Aileen was betrothed to him to keep his clan and the Martins from war, he wasn’t going to let his family down.
Aileen was a feisty Irish lass who wasn’t meek or a pushover, she gave her new husband as good as she got. Jane takes you into a dark world where one false move could be your last.
Keep your friends and family close and your enemies even closer you never know who you can trust. A great book, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, and will definitely be checking out her other books.

Sexy and intense Cormac!
WOW! Cormac is one sexy, intriguing and very intense alpha male! His dominance and possessiveness made me fall hopelessly in love with him and this story. It is one intense wild ride from beginning to end that you won’t want to put down.
Cormac and Aileen’s story is full of suspense, twists and a whole lot of passion. Right from their first meeting you could see that these two were going to have an exciting relationship filled with passion. Their chemistry was phenomenal and thrilling. The push and pull for dominance between them was highly entertaining.
Aileen is the perfect combination between sweet and sassy, with a big heart and a slight bratty side that fits just right with Cormac’s alpha maleness and his need to dominate and punish.
I loved this story so much, I think even more than Keenan’s story. There was just something special about Cormac that pulled me to him.
Fantastic writing and storytelling as always. I can’t wait to read where this amazing author takes us next in this series.
Aileen is given as a wife to Cormac as a deal between their families. Aileen is not used to anyone protecting her or looking out for her needs at any time. Cormac is part of the Irish mafia and a dominant alpha male. He is protective of Aileen but demands her obedience. A good dark read.
Can a book be suspenseful and sweet at the same time? I loved Cormac and Aileen’s story. It’s a sweet and touching story but suspense wrapped up in there.
I read an advanced copy of this book
5+ Stars for a Fantastic Book!!!
Fabulous book! Love these Irish men. I was captured from page 1. Cormac is the supreme alpha, good-looking, brother to the Clan Chef. Aileen, the gorgeous blond is promised to him. The only problem is Aileen is a strong willed Irish lass and they butt head constantly. It’s a great Irish romance. It has everything needed for a brilliantly written book. I hated to see it end.
I love these dark Irish Mafia stories. And I really love Aileen and Cormac as a couple. The McCarthy’s and the Martin’s feuds are as ruthless as any other mafia families but they do it the Irish way.
Jane Henry writes stories that capture the reader from page one and they are realistic and humorous at times.
Cormac is the second book in the Dangerous Doms series. Cormac and Aileen must get married to save their clans from war, and Cormac will make sure they do their duty, no matter what. But with pressures and danger looming in all directions, will this couple ever find their happily ever after?
Oh my goodness, I completely fell in love with this story! There’s a lot that happens between Cormac and Aileen and I could not put this book down! Cormac is the perfect combination of being all dominant male, possessive, and willing to go to any length to get done what needs to get done, but he has a softer side that is caring and protective and even romantic. While I never wanted to hate Cormac, he was harsh at times, but I completely swooned over him! Aileen is also a perfect combination between sweet and sassy, with a big heart and a slight bratty side. I loved her story and everything that she needs to go through and face. I thought their connection come alive through these pages of this book, and loved their steamy scenes just as much as their emotional, intense, and softer scenes. This book really shares the importance of trust, communication, and building the foundation to a true love. I am fascinated by this series so far and can’t wait to see what will come next!
Oh my Cormac is just yummy all possessive and in charge and weding Aileen who has a mind of her own and brings him to the brink of crazy I loved her, she is feisty and a brat who also has opened his eyes to life and emotion.
I could not put this down, danger and excitement on every page and hot!!! Love these Irish Mafia Men and the woman in their lives.
This book is spectacular! The characters had sparks flying from the get go! These two are something else. Cormac is 100% alpha male and used to having his commands followed without question. Aileen is an independent woman who is a spitfire and sassy. She does what she wants. She is true to what they say about redheaded women. The push and pull is a delight to read about! The chemistry is off the charts. The author gives such details that you feel like you could be right there with them! A highly recommended book. Check it out and see for yourself. So worth it!
This is the second book of the Dark Doms series, and it reads as a stand-alone.
Ms. Henry has done it again. This is my favorite book of hers, by far. She has such a way with words and developing a fast pace wonderful story that keeps the reader attention with plot twists. I was sad to finish this book.
Cormac McCarthy is second in line to the McCarthy Irish Mafia family. He is his brother’s enforcer. He his strong, demanding, and a very alpha dominate. Family first.
Aileen Martin is a mouthy brat from the rival clan. She is promised to Cormac to prevent a war between the two families.
Will they be able to find love? Will Cormac teach Aileen not all men are abusers? Will there be peace between the families? This story has a few twists and turns that will keep the reader on their toes.
This book is extremely well-written, the author can certainly write a fantastic story with great characterization. Jane’s writing is easy to read and captures the audience’s attention, with the steamy sex and dark scenes.
I’m eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.
