Complimentary series to the Seabreeze series!
I’m part of Jan Moran’s ARC and was sent this book for an honest review. I enjoyed the story line and the characters in it. This is a book about beginnings and makeovers. About reinventing yourself. Marina and Jack’s life’s have taken a turn which made them stop and consider their options. There is also mysterious Ginger and a whole bunch of characters from the previous Seabreeze series. Nicely written Jan. I like the way your characters develop and how you make your readers care for them.
Jan Moran, what can I say about her writing?
Her books are incredible with wonderful characters and an interesting plot.
The characters are lovable, hardheaded, strong, and independent.
The plot was well-written and keeps you reading and wanting more.
I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.
This was such a fun summer time read. I enjoyed it very much. It had a very positive vibe to it. I could see this place as real and the situations as well. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Solid 4.5 star
This was a great read, I just love the characters Marina is having to reassess her life, her sister Kai is having a love crisis and her their grandmother Ginger is a hoot and very mysterious in what she does, while Jack is looking for a new direction in life after a bombshell revelation, thankfully he has Scout the most ridiculously lovable dog ever. Everyone’s individual story flows through the others making this a thoroughly addictive read where you laugh, cry, roll your eyes and chew your lip as you see new relationships grow, self discovery happen, surprise revelations and old friends are found. I can not wait for the next book to see what happens next for the Coral Cottage and those who live there!!!

Another great one by Jan Moran. If you loved the Seabreeze Inn books, you don’t want to miss this one. Fantastic characters you’ll love and a story line that captures you and holds you as you get swept up in the pages. Wonderful small town romance you’ll love escaping in. Fans of romance by the seaside will love this one.

Re-Inventing Life at The Beach
This is the first book of the new Coral Cottage series which is a spin-off of the Sea Breeze Inn series. It takes place in the same southern California a beach town and shares many characters. This is primarily a story of family, but also has several romances going on. One of the main characters is a yellow lab which is so perfect for a So-Cal beach town. This author does such a fine job of integrating real-life problems with the laid back vibe of the beach. It is not hard to imagine living the life she describes so well. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
Entertaining and enchanting story with a great romance with some secrets and mystery thrown in. Small town is a great location for a romance with twists and complicated relationships. Would recommend. Good read.

An excellent beginning to a new series. I have read the series set at the Seabreeze Inn and this is a continuation to that. This series is equally as charming and entertaining. The characters are wonderful and make you wish you could be their friend. I love the setting of the cottage and the family coming together. Marina has to overcome a loss of job and dignity but shows how to do that with grace and humility. Lots of characters to love and root for in this book. It runs the gamut of emotions from anger at bullying to tears of fear and joy. Wonderful book!

From the author of the bestselling Seabreeze Inn at Summer Beach book series, the Coral Cottage is a new chapter on the sunny coastline. This story is of family, sisters, Grandmother, and friends both old and new and the things that happen to the people there. Once I started reading I was not putting this book down. I would recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story of Marina and Jack. She is spending time at Coral Cottage, her grandma’s beach house to recoup from a scandal. Jack also finds himself in the sunny coastal town of Summer Beach to write his book. These two are about to find more than they bargained for. I enjoyed this romance as they go through changes in the next chapter of their lives. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Coral Cottage is a fun, entertaining summer read. The characters are realistic and well developed, and the book delves into a range emotions and responses — embarrassment, sadness, longing, secretiveness, love, betrayal. The book also incorporates several generations, so the reader gets different perspectives.
Jan Moran not only writes a delightful story, she weaves in some famous people and historical storylines, which adds another dimension.
I’m a realist and a literalist, so, I look for that in the books I read. The books have to make sense and be plausible. The only thing I didn’t find realistic was the ease with which people made career changes and started down another path. Although Marina, Kai and Jack are at crossroads, suddenly they each have a new skill set that has been hidden for years. However, aside from that, there is lots going on in Summer Beach.
Looking forward to reading Coral Cafe when it comes out.
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the raw honesty of this story. I loved the chemistry. I loved watching these two navigate the world together. This is a story of love, forgiveness, romance, and how secrets have a way of coming out. I loved every second of this sweet, swoon-worthy, small town story. I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Marian has escaped the city after being humiliated live on TV and having her heart shredded and now she is on her way to Summer Beach to see her grandmother Ginger who always seems to be able to calm her shattered soul with her wisdom only to find that she has gone away for a few days so now she is staying at the Sea Breeze Inn to regroup while waiting for her grandmother to arrive home. Jack is a reporter and he is in Summer Beach to hopefully write a book plus deal with the news that he has been given. Jack has moved around a lot but Summer Beach calms his soul and he wants a place to call home which is something that he has never had but has wanted for a long time. I love this book and series so much as it shows you that life can take you on a different journey if you allow it to and embrace it as Marina and Jack did in this story. There connection was strong but both had obligations that they had to deal with but will this be there time for a chance to be together. Jan Moran is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy of this book.
Although this is the first book I’ve read by Jan Moran, it definitely won’t be my last. I loved this story about Marina, a single mom to two college students (twins), who has just lost her job and boyfriend on the same day. She goes to her grandmother’s cottage in Summer Beach, but Ginger isn’t there. She ends up at Seabreeze Inn, where she meets Jack, a journalist taking a break to write a book. I loved all the characters I met while reading this book and I highly recommend this book to everyone. I won’t leave any spoilers, but if you love reading about family relationships and friendships, then this will be a great book for you.

4 ½ stars
I’m so happy to be back in Summer Beach, and delighted to get to see the characters from that series make appearances. But this is a new series, and I found it and its characters equally enjoyable. You don’t need to have read the earlier Seabreeze Inn series to read this one. It can stand on its own.
Marina has just lost her job as a television news anchor in a most unceremonious manner. She’s upset and worried, and decides to head straight from the set to her grandmother’s, Ginger’s, house in Summer Beach, Coral Cottage. It’s named for its coral colored exterior. Her bad luck remains as she finds Ginger away from home, doesn’t have her key, and then sprains her ankle. Luckily, a good neighbor steps in and sends her off to the Seabreeze Inn, where Ivy, Shelly, and Poppy take excellent care of her. While there, she meets Jack, a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter. Marina isn’t impressed by his demeanor, and doesn’t yet know his background.
Things start to change when he rents Ginger’s guest cottage that lies behind the main house. While Jack tries to come up with a subject for a book he intends to write while on sabbatical, Marina must figure out what to do with her life. She thinks she has a plan, and she begins taking steps to make it a reality. She has to do something to help pay college tuition for her twin children.
In the midst of her turmoil, Jack discovers some surprise from his past that will impact on his future. And more surprises come to the forefront about Ginger’s past, and maybe present. And even more when Marina’s sister, Kai, turns up suddenly, recently engaged, but uncertain about whether she should go through with it.
Like the Seabreeze Inn books, this book will draw you in and keep you reading. The characters are lovely, and the setting is a delight. I did feel that things developed a bit too quickly and, sometimes, conveniently, but overall, I thought this was an enjoyable and delightful read. It’s perfect for beach reading, or with Coronavirus, backyard reading. It’s light, with just the right amount of seriousness to make it an interesting read.
Do know that there is a sad aspect to this book concerning one of the characters having a terminal illness. Nothing bad happens to her in this book, but if you are easily disturbed by such things, just know that it is there.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
The main characters in this book are all looking for changes in their lives doesn´t matter if they are 30, 40 or 80 and it´s so easy to relate to them cause in real life that how things are as well. We end parts of our lives and have to start over, hopefully being able to do things that we love and not things that we need in order to survive. The location is beautiful and the descriptions are so acurate that you can almost see the see, the cottage and beautiful sunrises and sundowns. It also is a huge story about friendship, family, partnerships and obviously love in all its shades and colours. I believe, as with the characters in this book, I also have a spring in my pace after reading this most enjoyable story. Looks of food for thought in my next steps !

Jan’s books never disappoint me. When I pick one up, I know it will be a fun read with wonderful characters. The women will be intelligent businesswomen and loyal to their families and friends. There will be sweet romances. The perfect beach or weekend read.
I always love the characters in Jan’s books and am sad when a series ends. But one of the things I really love with her books is that I do not have to say goodbye to my “new friends”. When I started reading the Seabreeze Inn at Summer beach series, I was thrilled when characters from her Love, California series made appearances. And now in her new Coral Cottage at Summer Beach series, I nearly cried when the beloved characters from Seabreeze Inn welcomed the new Coral Cottage characters to Summer Beach. (Note: Each series can be read on their own, but why not read them all for the full “experience”?)
It is refreshing to have a series in which not all the central characters are “Barbie doll” types in their 20s. In Coral Cottage, Marina Moore is 40ish while delightful, yet mysterious Ginger is nearly 80. The storyline was engaging and perfectly paced. In the first installment of the series, Marina seeks comfort from her grandmother Ginger after her news anchor career collapses on her. And investigative reporter Jack Ventana has some major changes in his lifestyle so comes to Summer Beach to sort out his life. There are some beautifully written moments of tenderness with Jack at the core. Marina’s sister Kai, an entertainer, seeks solace at Coral Cottage as she reassesses her relationship with a Broadway producer. But her life gets even more complicated when she finds herself attracted to a local contractor. Then there is Scout…I could just see the overeager, overgrown pup with his silly grin and wagging tail.
Settle in for an unforgettable summer with your new friends at Summer Beach.
“Jack had never imagined this summer unfolding quite the way it was. And in the recesses of his mind was the notion that nothing would ever be quite the same again.”
Marina Moore is the meme of the moment as she escapes to her grandmother Ginger’s home in Summer Beach to figure out just where she goes from here. Jack Ventana, slightly burned out bachelor is taking a sabbatical from his life as a journalist as he and his new furiend Scout settle into Summer Beach while he works on a book. Then, a phone call from an old friend changes everything.
Life can change when you go from a job to work at something you’re passionate about. Look at the Bay family over at the SeaBreeze Inn. Is this the chance Marina and Kai get to change their futures? And what’s all this fuss about Ginger’s past? How will Jack’s life shake out? And why does Scout dig the way he does?
Make another trip to Summer Beach and meet and greet even more residents as Jan Moran shares her passion for life with her readers. Believe me, your life might be changed too. Highly recommended 5/5
