I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
I love that this story takes place in a charming little RV Park. The employees are like family and there are plenty of alpha males to keep things interesting. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Cooper’s sweet relationship as they worked to overcome their pasts.
As an added bonus, Cooper’s Charm also includes the love story of Phoenix’s fun & flirty sister, Ridley. Her romance with Baxter was entertaining & she knew just what buttons to push to keep him riled up. I look forward to the next book in this series. I would love to know what happens with Daron and Maris.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
“Cooper’s Charm” (Love at the Resort Book 1) by Lori Foster is a terrific read. I loved this story. It’s a wonderful start to this new series. It was great getting to know Cooper, Phoenix, Ridley, Baxter, and the other employees at Cooper’s Charm. This story has romance, passion, entertaining characters, action, suspense, humor, overcoming tragic events, new beginnings, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters! Highly recommend to all fans of romance, action, and series.
“Cooper’s Charm” by Lori Foster is charming, sexy, and includes those alpha-heroes we’ve come to love.
Cooper Cochran now owns the resort, Cooper’s Charm, having moved there to escape the grief of losing his wife five years before.
Phoenix Rose arrives looking for a job and a place that will help her take back her life after a traumatic event.
Interest and attraction are apparent between these two from the very beginning, but both hold back. When they do give in, their chemistry is as hot as the summer sun.
There is a secondary storyline amidst the budding romance between Coop and Phoenix. Phoenix’s sister, Ridley and scuba instructor, Baxter McNab. Their scenes are sexually-charged as they follow their own path to happily-ever-after.
“Cooper’s Charm” wouldn’t be a Lori Foster book without a bit of suspense. Who is targeting Phoenix at the place she thought would be her safe haven? Will Cooper be able to protect her?
Ms. Foster continues to bring sexy stories featuring alpha heroes and strong heroines. In this book, listed as book 1 of the series, readers will wonder – who will be next to find Love at the Resort?
COOPER’S CHARM- Phoenix and Cooper, and all the secondary characters made one brilliant story. The connection between all the characters was riveting and had me unable to put this book down once I started. And we had the adorable Sugar, you can never go wrong with a cute puppy in a novel. A great fast paced, summer fun book.
This cast of characters is one of the best groups I have read. Phoenix and Ridley have an incredible sister relationship. Their love, support and witty banter is such an amazing element to this book. Their dynamic is like a caffeine high – full of energy. Cooper, Baxter and Daron are the super sexy alpha males in Cooper’s Charm, an RV camping resort. They are strong, opinoninated and they love women. Maris, Joy and Sugar round out the very endearing ensemble.
After Phoenix’s horrific and traumatizing experience, she decides to get her fresh start in Cooper’s Charm as the groundskeeper. Shortly after, Ridley follows Phoenix and sets herself up in an RV to be close to her sister. From there, the sisters become a part of this close knit group of friends and the loyalty and love found in Cooper’s Charm is the answer to their prayers.
I needed a book that wasn’t a compulsive read but something that I could escape in on my breaks in the day and before bed. This was the absolute perfect fit. I still anticipated picking it up but still able to have adult responsibilities.
This was third person point of view which I sometimes struggle with reading but this had a really great flow. It was well written.
The story is of two sisters that find new beginnings after struggles of their own.
One a victim of a robbery, the other recently divorced.
The bond between the sisters was strong, more than sisterhood but a strong friendship.
Phoenix may have been the quieter type but Ridley was certainly her opposite and clearly was missing a filter. She was hilarious, stubborn, and entertaining.
This was a sweet dual love story with a touch of suspense.
The first book I read by Lori Foster. Enjoyed it! The name says it all!
Loved this book. Wonderful characters. Great romance with a taste of danger/mystery. Sisters Phoenix and Ridley Rose, both in need of healing/recovery, find their way to Coopers Charm, a charming lakeside resort. Both sisters take jobs at Coopers Charm, and what starts as a temporary detour, may turn out to be just what they both need; for healing and fresh starts, and possibly so much more. Highly recommend.
Terrific story about two sisters who want to take back their lives, and the men who help them do it. It’s also a story of family, support, and love, letting go of the past and taking chances.
Phoenix had a happy life until a burglary and assault threw it all into turmoil. After months of drifting, she’s determined to find her independence and reclaim her life. Taking a job as the groundskeeper at Cooper’s Charm will get her back into the career she loves with enough physical activity to keep her distracted from her past. She doesn’t expect the bigger distraction of her sexy, widowed boss. Cooper purchased the resort several years earlier, after the murder of his pregnant wife. The first two years were spent just trying to make it from day to day, but he’s slowly found peace in his surroundings and the varied life of the resort. He still grieves for his wife, but he’s more at peace, until a sexy, hurting Phoenix starts to get under his skin.
I loved the development of the relationship between Cooper and Phoenix. I loved their first encounter, the sparks that were there between them, and the wary way they danced around them. Cooper is aware of Phoenix’s past, which brings out the protectiveness in him. Phoenix is still dealing with the aftermath of the robbery and the effect it had on how she sees herself. Cooper is patient in the way he lets Phoenix get to know him and become comfortable around him. She is surprised by the fact that, in spite of his size, she is never afraid of him. I liked the slow and steady growth of their relationship, as the chemistry between them builds. One of the things I liked best was their ability to communicate, not just the everyday job-related stuff, but also those things that were more personal. I loved their honesty, as both agreed that they weren’t into playing games with feelings. Phoenix also has some self-esteem issues about her body because she is quite curvy. Cooper finds her very sexy and has no trouble letting her know the effect she has on him. After a bit of excitement at the end, both Phoenix and Cooper were able to admit their feelings for each other and move on together.
Phoenix’s sister, Ridley, had recently been through a painful divorce, leaving her cynical and a little bitter. When she arrives at Cooper’s Charm to check up on Phoenix, she is at loose ends and impulsively offers to act as the resort’s housekeeper. This also puts her near Baxter, the resort’s scuba instructor. The sparks between them flew fast and furious. I loved the back and forth between them. Baxter is commitment-shy after a bad breakup and is known as quite the player, but there is something about Ridley that gets under his skin. Ridley is only looking for a fun time, however Baxter blasts right through the walls she has erected around her heart. It was fun to watch these two chase each other and try to keep their emotions out of it. An unexpected development forces them to face their feelings and make some decisions.
There was a bit of suspense involving Phoenix. It appears that someone is targeting her, and the question is who and why? There are several suspects, but I was pretty sure who it was from the beginning of the incidents. The resolution was a nail-biter with Phoenix’s life on the line. I loved how it turned out, especially seeing Phoenix regain that last piece of herself.
What an absolutely refreshing story set in a beautiful RV PARK!! I really enjoyed the fact that it had two romances simultaneously & a great because story for both Heroines!! They say write what you know , and I believe Lori has taken her love of RV traveling and managed to finagle her joy of camping into her wonderfully creative process of writing romance for all of us to continually enjoy … always bring something new to her table of Contemporary romance! The sizzling chemistry and passion for family and animals always add extra heart to her craft!
I really enjoyed this lighthearted book. The author created a community within a campground and I cared about what happened to the characters.
What a wonderful beginning to a new series!
Two sisters who are trying to get over past traumas both end up in the same quaint RV park and find more than they bargained for.
This book has so many things; a sisterly bond that is like no other; overcoming grief; regaining self confidence after being crippled by fear and even some new mystery and suspense thrown in to bring it all full circle!
Can’t wait to read the next book. I would love to be able to hang out in a place like Cooper’s Charm!
This is a lovely heart warming story of finding yourself and second chances. It took a little while to get into some of the characters, but once I did it’s very enjoyable. There is even a little mystery/drama mixed in. All the characters of Cooper’s Charm are like family and look out for each other. Which I always enjoy. I look forward to reading about the other characters in this series.
Loved it!
Delightful!
Cooper’s Charm is a wonderfully written story about overcoming fear, loss, and starting over stronger and happier. Phoenix Rose was the victim of a violent robbery in which the suspects were never caught, now she is trying to start over with a new job in a new location. Cooper Cochran is still grieving the loss of his wife but when he meets Phoenix, his protective instincts kick in. Both begin to heal and grow closer while danger is still present. Ridley Rose is worried about her sister but is also dealing with the harsh ending to her marriage. Now she is just looking for flings and fun, that is until she meets Baxter. Baxter is also avoiding anymore commitments until he see Ridley. Both stories are filled with several emotions that will keep the reader engrossed until the conclusion of the story. The characters are amazingly realistic and relatable.
This book was amazing. This was my first book by Lori Foster. I will tell you all I loved it.
I loved how Phoniex just became such a strong person. I love the story of both sisters. Hopefully we go in to the other sister in another book. I loved Sugar.
I loved this book! I loved all the people, I loved the setting, I loved the dog, but most of all I loved the story. It was such a great story. Lori Foster sure knows how to bring a story to life. I really wanted to be at Cooper’s Charm.
Cooper’s Charm is full of all the feels and charm that you could ask for. The characters are entertaining, with just a touch of troubles to keep you reading.
Phoenix is at the little resort to take some time to herself and recover from a traumatic experience. She’s definitely not expecting to be attracted to her new boss, especially a man who is working to overcome his own past. The timing may not be the best but these two troubled hearts may just be what each other needs.
Ridley is only at Cooper’s Charm to make sure that her sister is OK. Coming out of a bitter divorce she’s definitely not interested in getting involved again either. How do you think that works out?
I loved these people – they are complex and their interactions kept me entertained. I found myself cheering for them all as they work through their issues and move toward really living in the world again.
Foster is definitely one of today’s most popular romance author’s, with everything from sports romances to romantic suspenses, but I have to admit that her contemporary romances are my favorite. She’s just got such a wonderful way about crafting her characters and I always get so involved in their lives. I’m definitely looking forward to what she has in store next at the summer resort.
