A perfect mix of sweet, sassy, and sexy with a dash of suspense and danger to give the story an excellent and edgy, life-altering conflict Lori Foster’s new series is indeed charming and won my heart over completely.
Excuse me for fangirling here, but Ms. Foster writes such well balanced, smoothly flowing stories with intriguing and original characters, with lots of deep emotions and hot, sizzling heat, that they got to be addictive and you just don’t want them to end.
I loved the two sisters, Phoenix Rose and Ridley Rose. They are so alike yet so different, just like sisters are. The bond between them is sacred, they get each other, they understand each other, there is nothing that would ever break that bond, and they are very secure with that knowledge.
Phoenix has gone through the unimaginable, a personal attack that left her mind battered and jumpy. She is a tough woman, she is a survivor, and she is working so hard to find herself again, to feel joy and love, and to dare to let herself go, surrender to the wild and burning attraction she feels towards Cooper. I loved that Phoenix is a curvy, independent, resilient woman, it is so easy to admire her, to relate to her, and to like her.
And Cooper, with his wounded soul, with his wit and kindness, his patience, and tenderness, I just loved him from the very first moment. And I loved him and Phoenix together, the way they center each other and balance each other, how safe and secure they felt with each other. And despite their personal imperfections or because of them, Cooper and Phoenix had the potential to be a true match, soulmates, if they dared to open up their hearts and minds and love again.
Ridley and Baxter took the foreplay type of mind games and banter to the next level. They are such a mix of contradictions, they argue and challenge the other, but are never hurtful or mean, they pull and then push but never too far away, they are sweet and tender with each other right after ravishing the other against the wall. They are entertaining, adorable, and just so deliciously delectable. With all the trouble, danger, and deep wounds Phoenix and Cooper have, Ridley and Baxter, they bring the balancing bliss and glee to the table – until the things get real.
I know Lori Foster’s fans, and readers in general, are going to be delighted with the beginning of the new series. It is filled with intriguing, piquant characters, humor and joy, and even danger and sorrow, as well as the adorably satisfying and ardent love stories that will sweep the readers off their feet.
Unputdownable, not to be missed passionate romance novel with a touch of danger to spice it up even more

How does one go on when they are faced with adversity? Cooper is a man who uprooted his life to start over after the tragic loss of his wife. Phoenix winds up in Cooper’s Charm after being subjected to a horrific burglary and needing to find herself again. They are drawn to each other by an emotional force greater than themselves. Can they help to heal the wounds of the past together? Adding to the storyline are the inclusion of some wonderful secondary characters: Ridley, Phoenix’s older sister, Baxter, the devilishly sexy scuba instructor, Devon, the handsome and young handyman who can “fix” anything and not to be outdone but the cute little rescued beagle, named Sugar, will just make you melt. Lori Foster creates a slow build with regards to the romances that are blossoming in this story but when they finally connect, fireworks and steamy scenes abound. This is just one feel good story that will give any reader warm fuzzies and will inspire him or her to take a trip to visit this magical place where everyone is just like your family. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
I volunteered to read an advance copy provided by Netgalley.
There is a lot to like about this story – family atmosphere of the employees of the resort, believable characters, the interaction/closeness between Phoenix and Ridley, and the romance. I have to admit that I did find myself wanting to see more the relationship between Ridley and Blake – I found myself chuckling a lot at how Blake had Ridley’s number. I also enjoyed how the backstory of both Cooper and Phoenix was revealed over time in the story. Would recommend reading this book.
This is such a sweet story from Lori Foster, where we are treated to 2 romances. Phoenix Rose left her town after being attacked & robbed & went to Cooper’s Charm to work with on their landscaping. She is healing slowly but the scenery & great work ethics of her co-workers & boss help. She develops a relationship with her widowed boss & they help heal each other. Meanwhile Phoenix’s sister Ridley, dealing with a bitter divorce moves to Cooper’s Charm to check on her sister. While there she works for them as a housekeeper & takes pride on doing a great job and develops feelings for the resort’s scuba instructor. I can’t wait to head back to Cooper’s Charm again.
Love Cooper’s Charm! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved Phoenix and Cooper! Lori Foster writes the best couples and stories!
What a wonderful new story by Lori Foster. This story was filled with such wonderful characters who were so engaging and fun even though they had some hurts they had to work through. I loved that no one was looking for love but they found it anyway. And the best part? There are two love stories in Cooper’s Charm. Although the main hero and heroine was Cooper and Phoenix, there was also a secondary love story between Phoenix’s sister, Ridley and another hunky character. Both couples had their own sexual chemistry and their love stories were both sweet and sexy hot at the same time. And there’s a little mystery involved in this story too. This story is not very action packed and fast paced as her previous Bodyguard Series but more of a sweet and slow progression of events. It had a calmer feel that I really enjoyed. Made me relax and really enjoy all the aspects of the story from the beautiful location I wish I could visit too, to the family feel of all the characters. They were like a big happy family at Cooper’s Charm and I can’t wait for some of the other secondary characters to have their stories.
Oh I absolutely love this book! It it witty, funny, sexy, suspenseful and romantic all throughout the book with a little sugar on top. If you have read Lori Foster before you are going to love this and if you haven’t this is a fantastic place to start! Thanks Lori!
I loved this charming story that had the perfect mix of everything a romance should have. The characters are so well developed and just amazing. Lori Foster is just so good at this writing thing lol!
This is a book that will instantly suck you right in. It’s one that you want to keep consuming, but at the same time one you hate to see end. I loved all the characters in this book. They’re were entertaining and lovable. I love both Rose sisters had stories going on. Phoenix just breaks my heart with her back story, but the inner strength she gains from hew new job is inspiring. Cooper is just perfect for her. He also has a heartbreaking back story. These two lost, just going through the motions people are going to find new light to their future. Cooper is a rock for Phoenix, but can she believe a guy like Copper would want any type of future with her? I loved watching Cooper prove he is the man for her. I also enjoyed the secondary story of Ridley and Baxter. This book delivers on the feels with humor and heat. Lori Foster kicked of this series with a bang and I can’t wait for more from this series. I would highly recommend this one because you’re going to have a hard time putting it down.
I really liked Phoenix, Cooper, Sugar and the whole crew. Can’t wait to hear more from Cooper’s Charm. Phoenix has been hiding from life for a little while. Now it is time to get on with her life and that is why she came to Cooper’s Charm. She hopes to restart her life. When she goes for her job interview, she expects to find a nice little old man and instead she gets a really big, good looking man. She has to get over her fear of big men sometime, right? Coop did a background check on Phoenix and knows what she has been dealing with and it brings out his protective instincts. After losing his wife to violence, he has had a hard time coming back to life. He and Phoenix seem to be kindred spirits. Coop will do anything to protect Phoenix from someone who seems to be targeting her and Phoenix is a lot stronger than she realizes. Add in Phoenix’s sister, the other people who work for Coop and you have quite and adventure.
I have read every book that Lori Foster has written but I think that this is one of the best one yet! It makes me want to live and work at Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort. This is just one of those books that you enjoy reading, can’t stop reading, and hate when it ends. All of the characters in the book from Cooper to Phoenix to Ridley to Baxter and on and on are people that you would like to know and count as your friends. If you have never read a book by Lori Foster, you can’t go wrong with this one being your first. If she’s one of your go to authors, this is one that you have to read.
Phoenix is trying to get her life back after a terrifying robbery at her business that totally has her withdrawing from life . Cooper is a widowed man who owns a campground and looking for someone to take care of the grounds and maintain the equipment . This is a campground that everyone loves what they y do and a place I would love to visit . Ridley is Phoenix’s sister and visits to check how she is doing . This is a double romance and so with reading with Ridley attracted to the scuba instructor. I totally recommend this book !!
Phoenix needs to get away from her old life and has applied for a job at Cooper’s Charm hoping it will be the fit she is looking for. You see while at work late one night she was attacked by two masked men and she hasn’t been the same since. Realizing that she needs to make a change and needing to regain a semblance of who she was has her picking up and moving. When she arrives at her destination and meets her new boss she isn’t sure if she’ll be able to handle it or not, you see Coop is a very large and intimidating man. When Coop meets Phoenix he sees the hurt and lost soul that she is and wants to help her recover from her ordeal. The question is will she let him. Coop himself understands loss of self and the pain that comes with it because he is also dealing with a huge setback in his life. His wife, who was pregnant at the time, was killed and it has changed him in so many ways. Follow along as Phoenix and Coop dance around each other and the attraction they feel, will they both find they have been searching for. What an absolutely charming read this was, it took me on an emotional ride that I was happy to take. I laughed, I cried, and I feel in love with these wonderful characters.
What a great story of starting over! Phoenix comes to Cooper’s Charm to Finnish recuperating from an attack. Her whole life changed after she was robbed and attacked one night, and this small town seems like just the place to Finnish picking up the pieces.
Cooper bought the resort when recovering from his own tragedy. Here he is, having started over himself, and he hires Phoenix to be his groundskeeper. Can these 2 broken people help heal each other?
Also, Phoenix’s sister has grown tired of being away from her, and is dealing with a bad divorce. Will she find happiness at Cooper’s Charm as well?
I love when an author creates a world that makes me want to leave everything behind and jump right into the pages of a book. That’s what Ms. Foster has done with Cooper’s Charm. Now I’m not an outdoorsy person by any stretch of the imagination, I actually kind of hate nature except what I can see through my windows, but I want to pack my bags, rent an RV and move to Cooper’s Charm.
Cooper’s Charm is such a touching and heartwarming story of second chances. Recovering from a horrific event, Phoenix decides to uproot her life and move away from all she’s known to start over again. When she meets Cooper, the widowed owner of the resort, there’s an attraction neither of them can deny, even if it’s the last thing either of them is looking for. Cooper is such a kind and protective man, caring and tender with Phoenix, respectful on her feelings. For all Phoenix went through she’s a tough cookie and ready to take on life again.
Phoenix isn’t the only one who’s ready to start over. Soon after her arrival, her sister Ridley shows up at Cooper’s Charm as well, determined to make her own fresh start.
While Cooper’s Charm is really the story of Phoenix and Cooper, and how they both learn to move on after tragedy, I liked that Ms. Foster wove Ridley’s story in as well.
There’s a bit of mystery that’s introduced into the story, to add a little intrigue along side the romance. While it had great potential, and I would have loved to have seen it fleshed out more, it was just a little too predictable and unfortunately fell a bit flat for me. But that’s really my only con with this story, as once again Ms. Foster gives us a sweet story, of not just 2, but 4 people who find exactly what they needed, even if they weren’t looking! Oh, and did I mention there’s a puppy?!?
An easy, breezy summer read, Cooper’s Charm was really quite charming. Yes, I had to go there!
I’ll just go on the record right up front and say that I’m a huge Lori Foster fan. Her books have just the right blend of backstory, angst, sweetness, feels and sexy times to satisfy just about any romance reader. Cooper’s Charm is no exception, so it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that I enjoyed this one a great deal.
If I had to classify Cooper’s Charm, I’d call it a feel-good read. There’s some horrible stuff that happened in the characters’ pasts, but it wasn’t harped on in such detail that it scared me or bummed me out or anything. Just the right amount of detail was given to let me get to know the characters, but there definitely wasn’t TMI. (I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate that. I hate TMI and have had more than one book that gave me nightmares as a result. I’m looking at you, Lisa Gardner.)
Here’s some other stuff I really liked:
1. There are 2 main couples in the story. 2 romances for the price of one! You can’t beat that.
2. There’s a cute rescue beagle. I think all authors should write rescue dogs into their stories. What can it hurt, right?
3. It’s dual point of view, so you get the perspective of both male and female leads. I LOVE dual point of view in a romance.
4. There’s a little mystery thrown in, so even fans of romantic suspense would probably enjoy this one
5. Baxter is my new book boyfriend, and probably the only man I’d ever agree to take SCUBA lessons from. That is all.
6. I’d like to hang out with Ridley. She’s super interesting.
Long-story-short, this is another winner from an author I’ve come to trust. Cooper’s Charm would make a PERFECT beach read. I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series. (Please, oh please, oh please make it Maris’s story…)
Full disclosure: I received an ARC from NetGalley at no charge.
This was such a charming story and a quick read for me which was surprising since it is not a short story. Phoenix (love the name) has a tragic background with assault and PTSD and she has come to Cooper’s Charm for a job and to get on with her life. After several months she has finally decided she has had enough of hiding out in motel rooms and emerges to take back her life. Meeting Cooper Cochran, the owner, is surprising since he is so big and could be intimidating but he immediately gives her a feeling of safety. After being on the job for a few weeks her sister, Ridley follows her to the resort and she is a hoot. Ridley has her own demons but she is a firecracker. The characters in this story are all well written and intriguing. There is love and suspense and overall a very good story that kept me turning the pages. Both sisters come to Cooper’s Charm looking for a place to stay and they find a place to live and love. I definitely recommend this one! This is the start of a new series and I cannot wait to see where this series goes next!!!!
Lori Foster never disappoints. Her characters and story line is full of depth and emotions. Cooper’s Charm is a sweet story about finding yourself that includes romance, and so much more. The employee’s are everything you would expect from a high-end resort. They take pride in their work, and how they treat everyone. Including new comer Phoenix Rose who just signed on to work at Cooper’s Charm. They are more of a family vs. just being employees. If there is a Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort I would love to know where it is. The resort sounds like a lovely place to not only visit, but to reside. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Lori Foster can’t write a bad book, but I especially love the stories she writes specifically to benefit animal charities. Cooper’s Charm is one of these stories, and as much as I love it, I love even more that she’s donating money from the sales of this book to her local shelter. <3 <3 <3
Cooper’s Charm (Love at the Resort, #1) by Lori Foster ….. A great start to a new series… Lori Foster has another winner… I love how she takes me right into the story and I feel like part of everything that happens. Phoenix Rose… owned her own business..engaged…robbed at gun point and beaten badly .. she breaks her engagement and hides away until she takes a job at Cooper’s Charm.. a camping resort. Cooper …bought the resort to get over the tragic loss of his wife. Ridley Rose …divorced and Phoenix’s sister… Baxter… Scuba instructor at the resort… Maris runs the store and Daron is the maintenance man… and lets not forget Sugar….. this story has all the feels. laughs, tears, mystery and steamy sex anyone could ask for…. Yes there is a very HEA….I can’t wait for the next book….
