Cooper’s Charm is the perfect book! The resort sounds like an ideal place to live, work, visit & recover. Phoenix needs to recuperate & find herself after a traumatic event. She’s began to recover her strength but needs to get away from her familiar surroundings. This job sounds like it will be perfect! Just when she’s starting to live again, & stop looking over her shoulder, a series of events start to happen. Has her past comeback to haunt her?
Cooper lost his wife & unborn child years ago. He retreated into himself to grieve & purchased the resort to hide away. He’s come out of his shell & is beginning to live again when he meets Phoenix. He can tell something has happened & his protective instincts are up. Is there something more to it?
Who wouldn’t want to go to Cooper’s? The resort sounds perfect, the employees friendly & knowledgeable, & the scenery spectacular. Cooper & Phoenix, & even secondary characters Baxter & Ridley, have all been hurt in different ways. They all needed time to allow them to heal. The connections between them were plain to see the minute they met. The plot had several twists with the secondary plot line running throughout. This is a great start to a new series by a terrific author!
I loved everything about this book. I immediately fell in love with the characters and setting. This book is full of romance, humor, mystery, and included a sweet dog that was rescued from a terrible situation. As you read the story you couldn’t help but root for the characters and hoped that whoever was trying to scare Phoenix didn’t hurt her and was caught. I am looking forward to book two in the series.
I don’t know that I can say much more than others have about Cooper’s Charm. To say it is a wonderful story seems…small. I love Lori Foster’s books — always have — and this time was no different. It arrived via the postal service and I would normally put it in a TBR pile. This time, I was driven to read it because I enjoyed the “preview’ of the book I read online, I knew I would love the characters, and of course, the puppy on the cover.
I loved Cooper and Phoenix…and Sugar, of course. Both these characters are strong, working thru horrific events in their pasts, but you can tell from the start that they are meant for one another. They just have to figure that out! And the “secondary” romance between Ridley (Phoenix’s sister) and Baxter, the scuba instructor at the resort, is at times, hilarious. Ridley has attitude to the max and it is usually aimed at Baxter. Don’t go soft towards him; he can take it AND dish it out and it is that interaction that will make you laugh.
So very happy I read this story! A wonderful book that made me sigh and smile.
4 1/2 STARS!
The feel good romance of the season! With a quick wit filled with delectable sass, Lori Foster brings us the story of two sisters, both strong women who have been knocked down temporarily and are fighting their way through to the other side. One was hurt by the injustice of the world, while the other had someone she loved turn on her in a despicable way. Both are trying to find themselves again and figure out where they go from here. The love and support they give each other is inspiring as they settle into a new place filled with kind, generous souls and slowly make the journey towards redemption … and their sexy and sweet happily-ever-afters. Heartfelt, well-developed and oh so fun!
Phoenix Rose was living a good life with a fiancee by her side, a successful business keeping her busy and the world at her fingertips when a burglary and assault stole away her confidence in life and most of all in herself. She walked away from everything she knew and attempted to pick up the pieces of her wounded soul. This new job at the lakeside resort Cooper’s Charm is meant to center her again and give here some time away from everything she used to know to start to trust herself again. Friendly co-workers and a sexily brooding boss just might help ease her transition a little faster!
Ridley Rose is worried about her little sister and when she’s not getting the answers that she wants from her from afar, so she show’s up unexpectedly at Cooper’s Charm to check up on her. She stubbornly refuses to leave and ends up taking a temporary housekeeper job to keep herself busy and help out around the resort while she hounds Phoenix about her life. She recently had her own world turned upside down by her louse of an ex-husband, and now she’s determined to live it up … and the sexy scuba instructor giving her the eye might be just the way to do it!
Phoenix (love the unique name) and Cooper’s romance was a wonderful mix of sensual and sweet! I enjoyed so much about them-their work ethics, dynamic personalities, and their shared love of animals, just to name a few. I also loved the delicious build up of sexual tension. Foster writes some of the best chemistry scenes between couples, so I knew the anticipation would be worthwhile. And when the fireworks finally erupted…yowza!
As a double bonus, we also get Phoenix’s sister’s romance. Riley is coming out of a failed marriage while Baxter, the resorts’ scuba dive instructor, is kind of a ladies man. I got a kick out of Riley’s sarcastic, sassy mouth and loved Baxter’s charismatic personality. The playful edge to their sexually charged banter was absolutely delightful, but the chemistry…think sizzling and electrifying!
The secondary characters are just as much fun! Cooper has collected a hodgepodge of employees who act like one big, crazy extended family. And who wouldn’t love that?! Their nosiness could be bothersome..and have the world’s worst timing when a certain someone was romancing his girl…however, to know there’s always someone there to help lend a hand or a shoulder for support said a lot about the group.
And I have to mention Sugar, Cooper and Phoenix’s unexpected furry bundle of chaotic fun! Dogs can say so much with their expressions and the descriptions of Sugar’s soulful brown eyes and head tilts conveyed a lot. Plus, she was just a super cute character!
Protective heroes, feisty heroines, one adorable puppy rescue, and a madcap group of charming secondary characters made Cooper’s Charm a delightfully warm-hearted read! Mild suspense and two great romances round things out in style. I have my fingers crossed in hope that there will be a few more stories to come from Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved this story and setting! Cooper and Phoenix’s path to love and healing is a wonderful read.
I love books about sisters and a dog… And Lori Foster is one of my go-to queens of romance anyhow. And this one doesn’t disappoint.
Wonderful story. Loved it.
So glad I used my Audible credit on this book! I’ve never been disappointed by a Lori Foster book, but I liked the lighter mood set by the cover and the dog on it. In true Foster fashion, there was lots of mystery, romance, sexy times, danger and family thrown together to create a story I’m sure I will listen to again (and I don’t usually do that!).
Phoenix and Cooper were just meant for each other. Each had something painful in their past and being together helped assuage the ache and help them get past the traumas together. Ridley Rose, who was Phoenix’s sister (and who had a killer name by the way), was a bit of a surprise. She was a rather complicated character who scored the second romance in the book. I loved both of them! I loved Cooper most of all–protective guys certainly do it for me.
The narration by Erin Bennett was fantastic!
Definitely 5 stars and well worth reading!
Oh, Lori Foster! You are one of my favorite authors for a reason!!!
I abso-freaking-lutely LOVED Cooper’s Charm!!! The storyline was somewhat unique, with some twists and mystery and relationship, and love all mixed in. The characters and resort were so wonderfully described that I just want to move there right now!!! The Heroine, Phoenix Rose, is just an all around wonderful character, overcoming a bad situation. And Cooper…swoon! What he has overcome to be able to enjoy a relationship is the perfect pairing!
I love all the supporting characters! Ridley, Phoenix’s sister, who moves into the resort after an unannounced visit. Baxter, her banter/love interest. All the supporting characters who live and work at the resort are such a perfect combination!
I would COMPLETELY recommend reading Cooper’s Charm and I cannot wait for the next book in the Love at the Resort series!!!
What a great book, had a hard time putting it down. This is my first book by this author but will definitely read more of her books in the future.
First of all, let me just say, it’s a Lori Foster book, so I knew it was going to be great. I get so excited when a new book is released and can’t wait to start reading immediately. Cooper’s Charm had all of the components in a fabulous suspenseful romance novel that I love: a super handsome alpha male whose heart is as big has his biceps, an adorable, confident heroine whom I can identify with, mystery and intrigue – a need to find out what happens next, an adorable pet, and a bonus for this novel is a second sexy couple that we get to see develop their relationship as well!
I felt that the setting in this book was especially important and unique. The descriptions of Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort made me really want to be in that setting and relaxing where Cooper had created an oasis from his troubles and sadness. I imagined the park as a tranquil location that families would go to spend time together and enjoy each other and nature.
The chemistry between Cooper and Phoenix is really special. I felt like they connected immediately, even if both have pasts that leave them hesitant to trust. I just thought they were both adorable and the fact that they saved Sugar melted my heart.
If you want to talk about explosive chemistry, meet Ridley and Baxter…super hot for each other – but enough tension to keep you guessing. I don’t want to give away too many details except to highly recommend this book. I read a ton and have never been disappointed with Lori’s books.
Another great HEA from Lori Foster. Phoenix is looking for a safe place to rediscover her inner Amazon when she finds Coopers Charm. There waits the perfect job, beautiful scenery and Cooper. Cooper Cochran owns the RV park because he too needed a new start. As Phoenix begins to find her footing, she fights her growing feelings. But her big sister Ridley crashes in to help her stay true to herself. I loved getting to know these characters , laughed with them and was guessing till the end. I recommend this for any Lori Foster fan or anyone looking for their next book boyfriend!
Lori does it again with Cooper’s Charm. Phoenix and Cooper have lost souls. Not wanting to trust their hearts with so else. She wants to start a new life, he needs to get over loosing his wife. They sneak up on each other’s hearts and help each other out and rescue the poopr little pup, who falls for them both. Phoenix’s sister comes to check on her after her divorce and starts working at the camp to help out. Ridley falls for the scuba instructor. Believing she can’t conceive, she comes up pregnant. Both are excited after they deal with their misunderstanding. GREAT Read. I received and ARC in exchange fir and honest review.
Phoenix is rebuilding her life after a traumatic experience that turned her life upside down. She is finally finding some confidence to step back into the world. Cooper Charm is a beautiful retreat that is in desperate need for a landscaper and other workers. Cooper the owner and her boss is also damaged and they have an undeniable chemistry that can start a fire. The story has so many enjoyable characters that you don’t want it to end especially when her older sister Ridley shows up to check up on her. That’s when the a second romance takes form with Baxter the scuba diving instructor. Their story is so enjoyable I couldn’t help but smile especially when she decides to take on the job of housekeeper. I really hope there is more to Cooper Charm. I loved the cast of characters I could see this being a movie. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Cooper’s Charm by Lori Foster
Love at the Resort #1
What a delightful introduction to a promising new series of romances set in Ohio at a lake resort that has just about anything vacationers might be looking for – sites to pitch a tent, hookup an RV or camper, rent a cabin or stay in a larger building. There are watersports, hiking, activities for children and no doubt other options not yet mentioned in the first book.
The first book offers two romances (sisters find true love), a bit of a mystery that could prove life threatening, growth of characters dealing with pasts they need to work through and a whole lot of fun, romance and camaraderie.
What I liked:
* Phoenix’s ability to overcome the trauma she experienced – and her glasses
* Ridley’s ability to give as well as take in relationships
* The sister-love between Phoenix and Ridley
* Baxter – a match in more ways than one for Ridley
* Cooper – an alpha hunk that was a bit of a gentle giant till riled and in some ways wounded but not daunted
* Maris and Daron – will they star in a book soon?
* Joy and her son – wonder who she will meet?
What I didn’t like:
* The bad guy that was finally revealed
* The local louts that seemed rather lost (do wonder if perhaps Harry might be given a chance to turn his life around)
* Other than what I was supposed not to like…there wasn’t anything to diss in this book.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Will I read more by this author? Yes
Do I want to read the next book in this series? Definitely
Thank you to NetGalley and HQN for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
I listened to the audio version and I love this book. Lori’s writing is amazing, she wrote this one about two couples and the story just flows together as if it was just one couple.
Great book!! Strong men and women, an adorable dog.
A great new story from Lori Foster.
The book starts a little slow but then finds its feet and gets moving.
Phoenix is trying to get back to herself after a horrible robbery that lead to her hiding away. She sees an ad for a groundskeeper for an RV park. Cooper’s Charm is just where she needs to be. Cooper sees the wounds that Phoenix tries to hid.
Ridley wants to check up on her sister at Cooper’s Charm and maybe get away from a very bad divorce. She finds so much more than she was looking for at the park.
A great set of stories!
