Look for exclusive recipes in each book!Kandy Laine built her wildly popular food empire the old-fashioned way—starting with the basic ingredients of her grandmother’s recipes and flavoring it all with her particular brand of sweet spice. I love this new series from Peggy Jaeger. I usually don’t read contemporary Romance, I prefer a little magic in my tales, but I adore Ms. Jaeger’s big noisy families, butting their noses into everyone’s business. By the way, the recipes in the book are scrumptious too.
Kandy’s love is cooking and her family. She spends all her waking hours preparing for her top rated TV show and writing her cook books. Until strange things continue to happen, then she admits to receiving nasty phone calls from an unknown caller. Her team circle the wagons and hire a PI to find out what the heck is going on. Enter yummy former police officer Josh Keane, brains and brawn all wrapped in a delicious package. Kandy’s long buried emotions rise to the surface, passion catching her by surprise. Josh has baggage he rather not deal with as well and tries to keep Kandy at arms length.
The incidents escalate, who is endangering Kandy’s well-being and why? She’s the oldest daughter in a tight-knit, somewhat dysfunctional family. Her relatives mostly make up the work force of her food empire and she’s proud they all do a great job. But is there envy she doesn’t see? I’m not telling. LOL
As Kandy and Josh’s relationship sizzles as the bizarre events become more worrisome. With the beautiful Kandy on his mind, he finds it difficult to keep his mind on business until the distracting incidents turn dangerous. He’ll stop a nothing to keep her safe, whether or not they have a future together.
Ms. Jaeger’s characters are always well rounded and her stories never fail to entertain. I enjoy the amusing situations that Peggy creates for her characters. Laughter is good for the soul, so I hear. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next one. I highly recommend Cooking for Kandy.
I loved this book, as well as the others in this series! Peggy Jaeger has a way of writing characters that feel like they could be your friends – you end up really caring about them and rooting for that happily-ever-after. Totally recommend!
Kandy Laine is a young chef with a popular cooking show and bestselling cookbooks to her credit. She employs various members of her extended family in her empire. Family is everything to Kandy and so is her work. As the story opens, her cousin is worried for Kandy’s safety. There have been multiple accidents and near misses as well as threats. Someone wants to hurt Kandy. Enter Josh Keane, ex-cop and investigator who is hired to act as Kandy’s bodyguard, and figure out who is threatening Kandy and why.
The threats escalate and so do Kandy and Josh’s feelings.
I won’t give away any spoilers. The author weaves the threads of this well-written mystery with skill leading satisfying happily ever after. I’m off to check out the next book in this series.

This story was so much fun. Peggy Jaeger’s humor keeps me chuckling through out the story. I love the situations these two characters are thrown into and how they connect through the Heroine’s love of food. Heartwarming and funny a great rainy day read!
Kandy is a popular food show host and cookbook author to whom strange things have been happening lately. Family and co-workers think she needs a bodyguard to protect her against somebody who clearly is wishing to harm her. Kandy doesn’t want her life restricted. She eventually does agree to a bodyguard, and Josh–a private investigator who does a little protection sometimes–becomes a fixture in her life. As they spend time together and get to know each other, an attraction develops between them (though he was attracted to her from the beginning).
Will they be able to figure out who is threatening Kandy’s life?
Will Kandy and Josh give into their feelings for each other?

Kandy is a successful kitchen queen facing odd accidents and threats whose team has hired a private investigator to keep her safe. Josh took the job but never imagine he would feel so strongly for his charge. The characters mix well together but you might find certain behavior from secondary characters bothersome.

Kandy has built her cooking and food empire using her grandmother’s recipes and adding her own flair. Josh is a PI but is sought after to find out who is trying to cause trouble for Kandy. Will he get to the bottom and find the culprit or will his growing desire for Kandy distract him. Great story line, suspenseful and easy to read and fun characters. A definite page turner plus getting recipes in the book is an added bonus!

The book pulls you in right away as you see Josh on Kandy’s set while he’s waiting to talk with someone about the job. The author does a good job of describing the food show set and Kandy’s presentation. I wondered how much food TV she watched! I’ve never been on one of those sets but what she describes seems very realistic. Kandy seemed like a real person, with vulnerabilities, despite her fame. The author has created a fascinating set of secondary characters who are a delight to watch in themselves, especially Kandy’s mother and sisters. Josh and Kandy had good chemistry.
If you enjoy bodyguard romance or romantic suspense, you might like this delicious (recipes included!) book.
The book is a good romantic suspense read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Booksprout.
In the first book in the Will Cook For Love series, professional chef Kandy Laine hosts an insanely popular cooking show and is the author of several bestseller cookbooks. Despite her fame, fortune, and quick rise to the top, she’s a generous and humble person, and she cares a lot for her family and the people who work for her. She’s also extremely rigid and stubborn in her over-heightened sense of responsibility in both her personal and professional life, and has drawn the ire of someone who works for her. After a few attempts on her life and threatening phone calls, Kandy’s cousin calls in help.
Private investigator Josh Keane takes the case. Though he’s attracted to Kandy from the start, he’s all business and wants to find the person threatening her. As her fulltime bodyguard, Josh and Kandy get to know one another on a personal level, both sharing some deep secrets. The lines between lust, love, and professionalism blur, and what Josh wants and needs to do are two different things. As the investigation moves forward, several possible suspects come to light, and Kandy’s carefully crafted world, her sense of self, and her resolute trust in her friends comes crashing down all around her.
Kandy and Josh are amazing, well-rounded, career-driven characters. I felt connected to both of them. The sexual chemistry between them sizzled even though they tried to keep their hands to themselves. There’s only one sex scene, but quite a few sexual starts and stops due to outside interruptions.
Kandy’s family is awesome. Her mother and aunts are wild, flirtatious, and fun—the best part of the book in my opinion. Her sisters are strong and protective.
I loved the scenes when Kandy was on the set of her show. The author must have done a ton of research in how to successfully run a TV show, and I found all that info very interesting.
The story ends with a HEA, but there are a few unanswered questions. Hopefully, they’ll be answered in book 2 of the series. I really enjoyed the author’s crisp, fun writing style. The story was fast-paced and kept my attention.
Overall, I loved this story and would like to read more in the series.
