Another good story from Ms. Worth and well worth adding to your reading list. Easy read with happily ever after ending. Strong characters. No sex or foul language. Some editing problems with missed or misspelled words but still enjoyable.
An exciting, clean story of falling in love.
It was a sweet story but the main character’s repetitive thought got a bit annoying. I found my self skipping pages to move on.
A fun romance with lots of great food ideas!
Two chefs in diffetent tpyes of business find trust, faith and compromise to make romance blossom
This was a sweet and warm and enjoyable romance. Little bit of a stretch to buy it. I think the author needed to do a bit more research on having a catering business. I am hopeful that staff does not work overnight for every wedding.
Great story with wonderful characters! Entertaining storyline. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
Although I didn’t read the first book in this series, I loved the the friendship between Sarina, Kayla and Mona and how supportive they are of each other. In Book #1, Sarina meets and falls in love with Drake Dunmore. Now it seems like it’s the turn of Kayla to find the love of her life.
Both having been hurt before, Holt and Kayla are wary of falling in love. Also with both of them being in the food business there’s a rivalry that causes Kayla not to trust Holt. How they work out their relationship, beyond the attraction, to build love and trust makes for a nice, easy read.
I’m certainly looking forward to reading the third book in the series – Designing His Bride.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Lenora Worth’s The Brides of Blossom, Texas is back with the second in series, Cooking Up Trouble. With chemistry, food, with a wedding in a Texas small town, Holt and Kayla’s romance is a one I couldn’t put down until the very end. I really enjoyed this sweet read and thought Holt was perfect with Kayla.
Cooking up Trouble is the second book in the Brides of Blossom, Texas series. Yes each book can be read as a stand alone but let me say i would highly recommend reading all the books. In this book we get to explore the chemistry of Hog Heaven Hunk Holt Collins and Kayla Burton Of Falling Waters Bakery. I love reading books that are based in the state i live in and this one kept me reading and thinking about how I wished they were real and close by. The story line has just the right amount of snap, crackle and pop that make it believable and our author’s descriptions of the Castle, wedding and oh the food. YUMMY.
Can a cupcake queen and a Texas bbq food truck master find a common ground?
Well, if you are a Lenora Worth fan, you know the answer to this already. They will find a common ground.
Holt Collins owns several successful BBQ trucks in San Antonio and has come to Blossom to look at Falling Blossoms as a possible wedding venue for him and his fiancé. His fiancé never shows and actually breaks up with him by text. He is devastated but he has promised to be best man to a long time friend so he stays around Blossom. He is also looking for another spot more permanent to locate another BBQ truck as well.
Kayla Burton has taken over the family business. She has not only taken it over but completely turned it around. Plus she makes the best cakes for miles around. When she meets Holt there is an instant attraction but she refuses to let herself act on them. She doesn’t want to be the rebound girlfriend. But sometimes things happen for the right reasons and both Holt and Kayla
My only compliant about this book is that the special Man Muffins recipe that Kayla creates for Holt is not including in the book. I really do want this recipe.
I did receive a copy of this book in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
This is a wonderful sweet romance about the power of love been able to heal even the most hurt and broken
Kayla Burton has had her heart broken and has no intention of ever letting it get broken again Then she meets Holt Collins as they both cater a wedding reception. He loves the site of the wedding so much he wants to show it to his fiance the only problem he received a break up text back from her. He decides to stay a few days to get over his shock When he heads to a local diner to eat he discovers it is owned by Kayla and she has a disaster fungoid on in her kitchen when he steps into help there are sparks in more way than one between them But is he just looking for a fling to get over his broken heart and engagement or is there really something between them Can two people so hurt with such huge walls built up around them going to help one another destroy those walls You will have to read to see
The Brides of Blossom, Texas book 2, Cooking Up Trouble by Lenora Worth is a delightful sweet story of two chefs who initially clash. I liked both characters immensely who choices of specialties are as different as they seem to be. I also liked how they continually kept running into each other through work.
Holt and Kayla have had some past experiences that cause them to be wary of love and relationships. I could see how Kayla would think that Holt is on the rebound. Still the couple fit together if only they could take a leap of faith.
An easy to read story that had me rooting for these two from the first seemingly ill-fated meeting. The appearances of Drake and Sarina along with Mona were wonderful parts of the story too. It is a serendipity kind of story that was heartwarming and smile bringing.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Cooking Up Trouble is book number two in the Brides of Blossom, Texas series byLenora Worth. This is Holt Collins and Kayla Burton’s story.
A sweet romance with likable characters. At times they made me want to knock some sense into them.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Follows are my own opinions. I have read and enjoyed several books by Lenora. This book is the second book in the series and I previously read the first book too. We return to Blossom, Texas and the 3 friends. This book is Kayla’s story. Kayla runs the Falling Waters Cafe. In the first book she meets her friend Sarina’s fiancé Drake’s friend Holt. Holt also makes his living cooking Barbecue meats and sides and owns a few food trucks. Kayla previously felt threatened by Holt and his food. She wasn’t too fond of him. Holt was engaged and had come to Blossom to look at the facilities for hosting his wedding. In this book we learned that Holt was dumped by his fiancé in a text message.
Holt is supposed to help cater Sarina’s wedding and be a groomsman for Drake. Kayla is also helping to cater the wedding and is a bridesmaid. They are determined to get along and not ruin the wedding.
Kayla and Holt start spending time together while he is in town and planning their parts in the wedding. They realize they have strong feelings for each other. Since Holt so recently broke up with his fiancé, Kayla is afraid he’s on the rebound and afraid she’ll get her heart broken again. Not too long ago she was in a relationship and the guy, her cooking mentor, insulted her and dumped her, then got back with his ex wife.
As time passes, they both decide to take the chance. There is some suspense and angst but in all it is an HEA. I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to read the final book in the series.
Sweet, charming story featuring two people who have major walls up by the pain from previous experiences. Kayla and Holt really are nice people with some great family and friends. Both chefs in a place in their lives where there businesses rule their lives. But it’s the hits and misses of their drama along with ups and downs of their romance that make the ending oh so sweet!
I received an advanced reader copy from Tule Publishing in exchange for my volunteer review.
Cooking Up Trouble is a lighthearted small town romance between two chefs, Holt and Kayla, that have been in some competition since they first met. But since their close friends are getting married to each other they can’t help but to be around each other. Pretty soon both are cooking up a storm in more ways than one. Cooking Up A Storm is sweet, funny and sexy with wonderful characters in a town full of great secondary characters. And the food sounds great too!
I really like storylines surrounding food trucks the last book was The Biscuit bowl food truck mystery by the late J.J cook. ,I read this one in one sitting.Loved the chemistry between Holt and Kayla.I can’t wait to read book 3 in this series.
Kayla met Holt at a wedding a while back. and they didn’t really hit it off at the time. This time it isn’t starting out so well either. She thought he was rude.
When he went to apologize and showed her the text he had received from his fiance she understood why. It was a break up text and she was supposed to meet up with him to plan their wedding. She kept putting it off and then she broke up with him.
Holt now has a past he needs to put behind him so maybe he can have a future with Kayla. Kayla too has a past she needs to put behind her to see if she can have a future with Holt. Kayla used to date a chef and it didn’t work out, and Holt happens to be a chef as well.
This is a really good book that I think you will enjoy, I know that I did. I would recommend it to all my friends.
I found this story so cute. I honestly have no idea how the author wrote this book and not eat while writing, I was reading and getting to hungry. Everything she described in the book it felt like I was either right there or could totally picture it happening, I loved that because it just made you feel like you were right there. I really loved the relationship with Holt and his family and how he wore his heart on his sleeve. I really enjoyed Kayla for the same reason but also because she was vulnerable. I have not read the first book in the series but I totally want too after reading this one and I can’t wait to see what the three friends are up to in the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”
