Culinary queen Angie Amalfi has put aside her gourmet utensils to concentrate on planning her upcoming wedding to San Francisco homicide detective Paavo Smith. What could possibly go wrong?
Instead of the answer to her heart’s dreams, she scrambles to deal with wedding planners with bizarre ideas, wedding dresses that don’t flatter, squabbling relatives with hurt feelings, a long-suffering … long-suffering groom, and worries over where she and Paavo will live after the wedding. But all of that pales when Angie finds the perfect house for them, except for one little problem–the house may be haunted.
Many years ago, the newlyweds who lived in the house were murdered, and the case was never solved. While Angie pursues what happened to the couple who now may be haunting the house, Paavo obsesses over his own case involving the murder of unlikely lovers. The trail leads to ghosts, murders, unhappy families, and enough obnoxious wedding buttinskis to fill a graveyard. But when eerie happenings turn deadly, Angie fears she may be spirited away for good!

This was a good read. Enjoyed the story and the plot twist. Couldn’t figure out who dunnit.
A cozy mystery that takes place in San Francisco. Obviously part pf a series with well developed characters. Still with wacky wedding planners a few murder mysteries both old and new, not to mention a haunted house, you cant help but like it. A little bonus for those who like to cook at the end.
Great story. Many twists. Sort of like life just keeping you around , having fun seeing how you will react!
Enjoyable with enough earthiness to keep it light but intriguing.
I enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the characters. However, this is the first one of the books I have read and I found that there was a lot of detail about the characters that I didn’t know or understand. They lacked a depth that I think they would not have lacked if I had read the others. So, it might be that you would want to read some of the other Angie & Friends series first. Also, it it was two totally separate mysteries that really didn’t connect at all other than the main characters are in a relationship and he saved her life at the end. The mysteries themselves were intriguing and I enjoyed trying to figure out who did it, but I kept trying to tie the two together in some way and they really don’t connect.
Nice treatment of characters and locations
This was an easily read book. I enjoyed as a summer vacation read. I would like to read other books with these characters.
It was a cute book. Nice characters.
Great summer read! Entertaining and well written.
I enjoy a good light mystery and this was that.
What can I say – I like cozy mysteries. But this one is a little different in that it has ghosts! Can the mystery of how the ghost died move it on its way?
I like the characters and It kept me interested.
i enjoy the Angie books by Joanne Pence.
Loved this book! Walked an extra 15 minutes on the treadmill to finish it. Considering getting the rest of the set
Cute mystery with supernatural twist. Multiple plots were interesting, and kept me guessing. Characters were fun but didn’t find myself getting overly attached to any of them. Ending was a bit abrupt and left some questions which I’d assume will be addressed in another book, but overall a fun, easy read for a day by the pool.
I liked the characters and their development and the story line kept me interested. However, most distracting were the typos. This one could do with a good proof-reading.
Gun poolside read.
This book was fun to read. It was light- hearted, funny, & entertaining. I look forward to more books from this author.
This is a great book. The characters are original and perfectly drawn. I loved this read!
Like the characters, fun read. Will follow up on the series.
