Culinary queen Angie Amalfi has put aside her gourmet utensils to concentrate on planning her upcoming wedding to San Francisco homicide detective Paavo Smith. What could possibly go wrong?
Instead of the answer to her heart’s dreams, she scrambles to deal with wedding planners with bizarre ideas, wedding dresses that don’t flatter, squabbling relatives with hurt feelings, a long-suffering … long-suffering groom, and worries over where she and Paavo will live after the wedding. But all of that pales when Angie finds the perfect house for them, except for one little problem–the house may be haunted.
Many years ago, the newlyweds who lived in the house were murdered, and the case was never solved. While Angie pursues what happened to the couple who now may be haunting the house, Paavo obsesses over his own case involving the murder of unlikely lovers. The trail leads to ghosts, murders, unhappy families, and enough obnoxious wedding buttinskis to fill a graveyard. But when eerie happenings turn deadly, Angie fears she may be spirited away for good!

Nice easy read. Didn’t know who did it until the end. There were two different murder problems to solve. One new case, one cold case. Plus the ghosts added a nice twist to the cold case. I would recommend it to cozy mystery lovers.
This was a very cute story that had you wondering if you knew what you knew or if you imagined it. Kept you guessing and wanting more.
Great book, kept my interest, glad I read it!!
Angie Amalfi, a talented cook, is planning her marriage to San Francisco Inspector Paavo. She currently lives in the penthouse of her father’s house but thinks it would be better if she and Paavo buy a house of their own. Her sister, a realtor, shows her a house in an exclusive neighborhood that would be affordable to her and Paavo. The house is cheaper than houses in that neighborhood because it has been n the market for 30 years. While she is searching for the reasons no one has bought or rented the house for 30 years, Paavo is investigating the murder of a man whose body is found being compacted in a garbage truck. Paavo’s and Angie’s investigations are happening at the same time and the solutions take twist after twist. Readers find the book hard to put down and may be surprised by the solutions to the murders.
I enjoyed reading another book about gutsy Angie and her fiance. I can picture a heroine from a loud, opinionated Italian family plowing through a mystery till the very end.
this book was part of my “reading vacation”. completely fabulous. kept me engrossed and entertained; and i finished it and another book in two days! i consider that a good read!
Really enjoyed this book and the characters in it!
Nice light read with strong characters.
Cute, easy read. Great for the afternoon.
Angie is house hunting for her and paavo. She finds a great house but is it haunted by a couple that may have been murdered? Pasco has a murder with a man and a woman he worked with. There wasn’t enough left of him to identify at first. Angies family is a little different.
Very Easy read. Kept me interested from beginning to end. Loved the characters! Highly recommend this book.
Interesting read if you like “spirits” theme
Great characters.can relate to main character’s family and relationship with siblings as well as close friends. Funny yet sad with a great ending
enjoyed it an found other of hers to read. Arthor in on my wish list
I enjoyed her writing and that there were two plots to be solved!
spooky & different
A fun book and no profanity
So much fun!
I enjoyed the book. It had a little more depth to it than I expected.
Well written, using multiple story lines, quirky & predictable family relations, with touches of the supernatural & course to follow.
At the same time, there’s that dose or the real world that is relatable. Oh – the Spaghetti Carbonara (less the white wine) is a delicious dish….
