Culinary queen Angie Amalfi has put aside her gourmet utensils to concentrate on planning her upcoming wedding to San Francisco homicide detective Paavo Smith. What could possibly go wrong?
Instead of the answer to her heart’s dreams, she scrambles to deal with wedding planners with bizarre ideas, wedding dresses that don’t flatter, squabbling relatives with hurt feelings, a long-suffering … long-suffering groom, and worries over where she and Paavo will live after the wedding. But all of that pales when Angie finds the perfect house for them, except for one little problem–the house may be haunted.
Many years ago, the newlyweds who lived in the house were murdered, and the case was never solved. While Angie pursues what happened to the couple who now may be haunting the house, Paavo obsesses over his own case involving the murder of unlikely lovers. The trail leads to ghosts, murders, unhappy families, and enough obnoxious wedding buttinskis to fill a graveyard. But when eerie happenings turn deadly, Angie fears she may be spirited away for good!

A good murder mystery.
The title never really matched the story. I did like the addition of recipes after the story.
It has been a week since I read this and the only thing I can remember about it is that it was poorly written with inane characters, boring plot, sorry resolution.
Even though this book is part of a series, I had no problem engaging with these characters. Well written & easy to follow both mysteries at the same time. Some writers add so many characters that you often ask, WHO are they talking about?? These characters were fleshed out enough that I didn’t have that problem here. I would read this again, and be happy to read the entire series if my budget would allow. Enjoy!
The last few chapters were page-turners but the rest of the book dragged. I felt the characters were not developed enough; I could not relate to them.
surprised and delighted with story line
Very funny writing with lots of action and just a bit of sex to make it interesting.
Not so much about the food as the title would indicate, but still a good quick read.
This was funny but I’m not into the paranormal world so I won’t read it again. It did have some extremely funny scenes.
This was an okay read, I would have preferred more one on one conversations between characters, a little too much “mind thoughts”, so I did some skimming. But the story line was good, surprise ending, but I didn’t get the feel about her being a cook or chef, so the title is a little deceiving. Not much romance between her and detective, they didn’t connect for me.
Maybe I am not a fan of cozies, I couldn’t get interested in this book and deleted it. I didn’t find the characters to be interesting or the story to be compelling.
Not really sure because the plot bounces around too much!! I don’t love the book but I am gonna finish reading it to see what happens!!
Enjoyable read, it would be interesting to read more of the series to see if the characters are developed more. At least this book did have a conclusion, nothing more annoying than a cliff hanger book that tried to get you to buy more.
I don’t like books like this therefore I won’t finish it or recommend it
