Making out in stairwells has never been this hot.Las Vegas was just the beginning. After their sinful Easter weekend, Natalie and Steve must learn to work together.NatalieHow can I choose my battles when I am up against a rebellious inner teenager? And have I mentioned I’m waging a war against a persistent attraction to Mr. Stephen Clark? The way my breathing hitches means the painkillers are … rebellious inner teenager? And have I mentioned I’m waging a war against a persistent attraction to Mr. Stephen Clark?
The way my breathing hitches means the painkillers are kicking in.
It is not like I need Steve around or anything. I am just being practical. Getting rid of my tight skirt while battling drowsiness from the meds could cause further damage to my ankle.
What if I stumble and fall? No. Holding on to Steve’s brawny upper arms while he strips off my clothes makes perfect sense.
Right?
Steve
Warring with my body’s reaction to Nat’s proximity is taking a toll on me.
Who knew haggling over rates, fees, and deadlines could be this sexy?
Now, I’m caught up in this tight spot: prancing around hotels in New York with Natalie Todeschini by my side, while holding a briefcase as a shield to avoid public embarrassment.
But, when she needs a helping hand, I’m right there by her side, inching her skirt down her wide hips and shapely legs, supporting her staggering steps as she stumbles toward the hotel bed.
I’ll just sit on the chair and watch over her until she falls asleep. I want to make sure she won’t hurt herself. I can do this.
Right?

Cookie Wars by Liz Gavin is the 2nd book from A Year in Love series. Since this one begins where the first book left off, I would recommend reading the first book as well for better continuity. I really enjoy Ms. Gavin’s writing style. She included both humor and the right amount of detail which helps the reader feel as though they are there.
This book contains short stories, the first of which focuses on Natalie and Steve. These two are so strongly attracted to each other, but a misunderstanding in high school keeps them in a friends with benefits zone rather than allowing a true relationship to form. Unfortunately, a friend’s secret and a former girlfriend of Steve’s keeps things unsettled between them. Great characters that you are hoping will resolve their issues and finally find love. Looking forward to the next installment with this series.

Natalie and Steve’s crooked path to happiness continues in this book. It picks up the story very shortly after the first left off, and once again we’re off and running. We discover many of the details of what’s been keeping this pair frenemies. And just when we start to think there might be smooth sailing for a while, chaos erupts again. I am definitely hooked on seeing where their twisted path is going to take us next.

This is the second book in the A Year In love series. This continues Nathalie and Steve life story. It was easy to read. It does leave in another cliffhanger. I truly enjoyed reading this short story.

Natalie & Steve had a short thing in high school until Steve blew at Prom. Several years later they are pushed back together because of work. Can the pain from the past that Natalie feels and the continued lust that Steve feels bring the situation to a resolution? Bella is one of the issues standing in the way. Will she stand up and make things right so that a relationship can flourish or will she continue with a closed mouth? This was a quick but interesting read.

Natalie gets a little perspective on her current situation with Steve and their past. Now she has to decide if she can let go of the pain, forgive and move forward or let it keep her from the one person she’s loved since high school.
Right as I was starting to get into the story it ended. Hahaha
Sometimes I find it hard to rate short stories. This is one that I struggled with.
I like the characters and the storyline is good but I feel like I would like it so much more if the novelettes were combined to make a few bigger books. (3.5)
The series continues with another installment of Natalie and Steve’s life. Natalie just can’t seem to get over what Steve did to her at prom. But that doesn’t stop the two from hooking up. It is so sad to see how much the two really like each other, but can’t seem to do anything about it. Information comes into play that may help Natalie. Then something shocking happens that we will have to see what happens in the next installment. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
