“Of course, no matter where in the world she was, she could never have stayed hidden, not as long as he was willing to kill innocent people until he found her. Outstanding story well written with a good pace
A great story of mob loyalties (and many not so loyal) while a woman gets caught up in a marriage that isn’t to a businessman who isn’t.
Very good, found it hard to put down
This was a suspenseful read. The ending was surprising and just right.
Awesome reading
I lived this book. The plot was great kept my interest throughout.
A great story. The book was drawn out. There were a lot of typos.
Loved the characters even the bad ones. Ultimately love triumphed!
Convenient Lies by Robin Patchen
Hidden Truth Series Book One
Rachel Adams may not have been completely honest with her husband when they married—but he definitely had not been honest with her. Rae had changed her name when she left her hometown of Nutfield, New Hampshire and went to college—leaving a past behind her. Now, truths have come to light and she needs to get away and start over…again.
Brady Thomas has returned home to Nutfield. He’s been through some tough times, but survived. What he’s not sure he can survive is having Rae back home. Especially since she’s just planning on leaving again—like she had done twelve years ago.
A great story. This is told from three separate point of views. The author has done an excellent job of keeping the story moving and building emotions and letting the reader see the different sides of the characters. It’s hard to describe the uniqueness of it without spoilers.

Convenient Lies is the first book I have read by Robin Patchen, but it will not be the last. I initially read it because it was Christian Romantic Suspense and takes place in my home state of New Hampshire. I stayed because the story was compelling. The characters were well developed and felt real, both in their actions and conversations. The suspense was there (as opposed to some books where you wonder why suspense was added into the description at all). The stress Reagan felt was nearly palpable; I found myself continuing to read long after I should have been doing something else, just to see how things would end. The story shows the result of a life lived outside of Christ without feeling like the author was forcing the issue. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the series.
loved the story, if you like suspense and romance you have to read the book, there is murder, bombings, a new mother running away from her husband, that is not a good guy, glad I read it.
I couldn’t put it down! Would have crafted a different ending but it was very well done!
Wonderful character and story development. Suspenseful, hard to put down. I loved it!
Loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. A real page turner.
I really enjoyed this book. Does not drag and characters are well developed.
Robin’s a gifted writer who threads together a good story of both romance and suspense. This novel was my first entry into the romantic suspense genre. Good choice! I can’t wait to dive into more of Robin’sRobin Patchen long list of completed works.
I wish I could give this book more than five stars! I also wish I could find about 50 more books this good!!!! I love mystery and romantic suspense It’s my favorite genre and this book is so well written. The plot is deep and thick, the characters are rich and well-developed.
Kept me turning the page to see what would happen next
This is a fabulous book that has everything a romantic suspense book should have.
Rae is married to a dangerous man, a prisoner in her own home. She escape Paris returning to her home town in New Hampshire.
When Rae returns, Brady is determined to keep her safe. As the danger ramps up can they rekindle an old flame?
Convenient Lies checks all the boxes. I loved this book.
What a page-turner! I couldn’t put it down since page one. I finished it in two days. Patchen created a wonderful story full of suspense. I could feel Rae’s anxiety as her husband got closer to finding her. The end was realistic and unexpected! Patchen had me always wondering how the story would end, which I love. If you’re looking for a good book to spend your free time on, this one won’t disappoint you!
