I thought I knew how to bring a man like him to justice, but there are no men like him.He walked the Earth millennia before I was born. My ancestors fought him over the centuries, and fate has driven me to take my turn. But this time things are different. This time he has a plan.
Scintillating and sinister! The best kind of filth to while away the darkest hours of night.
I felt this story was superbly written, I loved the imagery, the writing, the way the visions the author’s words inspired grabbed you by the throat & then swirled you away into a harrowing psychological & metaphysical Alice in Horrorland where neither Kassandra (heroine) or the reader knows what is reality & what is imagined.
The first portion of the story, laying the foundation of Markos the Evil, the Warriors of Light, the ancient prophecy & war as well as how Kassandra & Markos meet in Greece & what frightening erotic actions transpire between them were riveting, intense & harrowing. I was mesmerized & the intensity of the first portion of the story sucked me into the tale. However, once Kassandra found herself back in New York the story began to lose me. Markos was such an overwhelming physical presence with Kassandra in Greece & afterwards, although he swirled around Kassandra repetitively in New York, his character’s presence was too distant ( this was intentional on the author’s part), neither the reader or Kassandra could tell if he was really there or not. I understand the author’s intent was to ‘confuse’ things, to make the story events murky, unsure, to wonder if Kassandra was swirling into madness or the only one to realize what exactly was happening, but again this made things just too detached for me.
However, as I mentioned earlier, this (IMO) is a wonderful work of words, in some ways the writing style after the 1st portion put me in mind of a Tanith Lee heroine (this is my feeling) if they had been possessed of an intense emotional personality. The writing makes the reader feel as though on one of those Mad Teacup amusement park rides, where things spin & twirl in multiple & dizzying ways, where you aren’t able to truly focus on anything or recognize exactly what you’re seeing. You feel Kassandra’s panic & frustration at rationalizing that she understands what is happening only to be ripped away to be returned to a new reality.
I think if this were to be promoted as more of an erotic horror fantasy as opposed to a dark romance I would have had a more appropriate headset for the story itself.
BUT, a superb story superbly written with a chilling & horrifying anti-Hero & plot & a confused heroine working to survive her addictive need for him.

This new book Consumed by Sara Fields blew my mind. I found it different from the books I usually read by her, it was dark and suspenseful. I found the storyline intriguing and the characters memorable. The main characters Markos and Kassandra were evil vs good and dark vs light. The intensity and passion that they felt for each other transcends all boundaries, reality and fantasy become a blur. I think Sara Fields has found a new genre that she is very good at and I hope she writes more. I would recommend this book to all my friends.
You get exactly what it says with this one. I was completely consumed from beginning to end. It was so much more than I was expecting! It was dark, twisted, intense, hot, dirty, and full of twists. I am afraid of saying too much, because I think this is one of those stories that is better enjoyed without knowing what you are getting into, but I will say that I was blown away. Ms. Field’s has surpassed herself and the bar has risen. I am excited to see what depraved tale she comes up with next.
A good book. Vampires are not my typical reading choice. A well written very dark noncon vampire story. This is not a love story or a romance. It is as the title suggests a story of claiming and possession. Overall a good story if you like a dark tale.
The story had a really great beginning that got me engaged, and couldn’t stop listening, it kept me engaged throughout the whole book. The scenes are really hot, steamy, and well written (though you’ll need a cold cold shower). I would’ve like to know more about the prophecy, or about Kasandra’s background and why she didn’t have any idea of whom he was or about the warriors. But besides that it was really good.
As for the narration, Meghan Kelly performance was really really good, you could listen to every emotion in her voice, and her paced and cadence were great. She has a really good male voice which is a great addition, and it made listening
Fast paced scorching hot with a lot of dark elements that will keep you on edge.
It is a story that has some D/s elements and that will keep you entertained..
Kasandra has been assigned in an undercover task that she is not really ready to achieve as she didn’t expect him to be that intense and hot..
Marko is a very Alfa and strong hero determine to play and manipulate Kassandra to get what he needs and wants..
The intensity and chemistry of the main character is strong.. no matter how much the heroine tried to stay in her goal Marko and their chemistry made it imposible for her to stick with..
It was good and hot. But I felt a little rushed into the story.. give the story a try and make your own conclusions
Undercover agent Kassandra thought taking underworld mogul Marcos into custody would be a cake walk. But the billionaire has been at the game longer than she’s been alive and won’t go in without a fight. And although she tries to break free, it doesn’t matter where in the world she is because Marcos has her twisted around his little finger and wants to show Kassandra what he does to girls who don’t play by his rules.
Marcos isn’t an easy man to please. He has rules and standards one must abide by, or suffer the consequences. His hard hand has made him a master of the boardroom and a devil in the bedroom. The way he weaves himself into Kassandra’s mind and dreams leaves you wondering if he’s more incubus than vampire. It also begs the question of if she will stick around long enough to find out.
While I expected a ton of sex, I was hoping for some more story between the spankings. I have a lot of unanswered questions and felt as if it was more erotica than romance, which is fine, I was just left wanting more. More character development, backstory, and a well rounded ending with no loose ties. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the audiobook is only about four and a half hours long, and for that length, Fields did manage to fill the time with a lot. Maybe one day we’ll get an extra large version with plenty of plot to go around.
Overall, I dub this book best for readers and listeners that are looking for some darkness and some serious heat in their stories. This is no 50 Shades level fire, this is a whole other level.
Consistency is what makes a book.
Like I said in the title consistency is what makes a great book, and this book definitely has good consistency when it comes to characters. Usually when you’re reading a dark romance it’s sketchy at best with no consistency and no real character development.

This is a dark, paranormal, twisted romance. Markos recognizes Kassandra as a Warrior of Light, while he knows he is an evil demon. He believes that together, they are meant to rule the world.
This story combines exquisite pleasure and excruciating pain and humiliation that mingle and surge into a roller coaster of extremely combustible erotic experiences that captivates and enraptures Kassandra.
I found this story wicked and dirty and totally engrossing.
This has everything you could look for in a paranormal romance; Greek mythology, the devil, vampires and next level out of body sex with BDSM elements. It’s honestly unlike anything I’ve ever read, but I would be interested in finding more from this author and genre. The writing is great and keeps you engaged with the story even when it is melting your brain. Meghan Kelly is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators.
I would recommend this to fans of PNR meets BDSM and vampires.
Kassandra is investigating Markos Valera a suspected criminal that Interpol hasn’t been able to get anything on until her. Markos turns out to be the ultimate evil and a huge surprise for Kassandra. This is a very dark and twisted story with spanking and other kink elements. A different take on an old tale.

Sinfully twisted, Sara Fields give us an enticing taste of vampires in a delicious tug of war I wished would never end!! Five savory stars!!
There has only been one other book in the over 50 years that I have been reading that I quit reading in disgust at the material (the other one was HELTER SKELTER when I was 17 years old).
This is NOT NOT NOT domination and submission. It is rape. D/s is consented. It is safe. It is sane. That is why I couldn’t listen anymore.
So, why did I give it 2 crowns instead of the minimum 1? Because the author can write. She can set a scene and before we met the rapist, Kassandra (the victim) is set up as an undercover agent with edge-of-your-seat anticipation.
Narration: Then there is the wonderful voice of Meghan Kelly. She gives drama that brings you into a story. Unfortunately, this time it was bringing me into the scene of a rape disguised as a D/s scene.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

It took me a little time to settle into this audiobook. I’m not sure if the story is written slow or whether it’s just the pace that Meghan Kelly was narrating at. I did know who was who just through listening rather than being told which is a great advantage.
The story itself intrigued me. I wasn’t quite sure where it was going or where it was going to end up. I had a few theories that I carried till they got shot down, lol. To be honest I would have liked it to continue on just a smidge as it felt unfinished where it ended up. I wanted to know more how they would carry on.
Consumed by Sara Fields is a Standalone Dark Paranormal Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Meghan Kelly. This is the second book of Sara’s that I have read and she did not disappoint. I highly enjoyed the twists in the story, it kept me highly engaged and wanting to know how it ends. The book does include rough, intense sexual scenes and strong BDSM Themes.
Meghan did an amazing job narrating and using different voices for Kassandra and Markos. She is very talented and always leaves me wanting more. This is the third book I have listened to that she has narrated and she never leaves me disappointed.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Dark Romances, Paranormal Romance, and Alpha Males.

Consumed by Sara Fields have left me a little unsure and confused as to whether I liked it or not.
Kassandra is an agent on a mission when she stumbles onto a dark and dangerous man by the name of Markos. Markos is literally the Devil and he catches Kassandra while she was snooping. When he realizes she is the descendant of a family out to destroy him with whom he has had a vision about he decides to make her his. He then proceeds to assault her. I know it’s a story but it got super strange here. Kassandra puts up a good fight but then gives up. No matter what you wouldn’t stop fighting against something you don’t want. Moving on though I get confused by her visions and his mind control over her and then in the end I am just shaking my head as to how easily she went to the dark side.
I have enjoyed other books by this author but this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. I just didn’t connect at all to the story.
Meghan Kelly did do a good job with the narrative and was entertaining to listen to. She brought a good sound to the story and I wish I enjoyed it more.
This book starts of hot and only gets hotter throughout the whole thing. In addition to that, you find yourself questioning all that is happening and when the answer finally comes, shocked to your core. An amazing story with a fantastic ending.
Narration was absolutely phenomenal with this book!
This a dark romance with a strong paranormal aspect, lots of D/S and punishment, as well as plenty of sex.
From reading the description, I did not foresee the paranormal aspect and was expecting more of a spy/mafia type story, so this caught me off guard. I found the story to be well written and enjoyable, but I could never quite recover from this unexpected twist. I run hot and cold on paranormal romance, so on another day I might not have even noticed. You mileage may vary.
In any case, it was an easy read and kept me entertained for several nights.
Recommended for fans of dark paranormal romance.

Consumed: A Dark Paranormal Romance with a saber-rattling between uncover agent Kasandra and underworld mogul Marcos. The beginning of this dark paranormal romance captivates your mind. Danger & mystery lurking through the pages of this mind-bending listen. I love the aspect of vampires. My only gripe is I wish their was more of their history, also character’s are not as well seasoned as I would prefer. As the narrative unfolds it moves more towards erotica than the actual suspense and an ending that leads you into craving a more savvy & polished ending.
Narator Meghan Kelly is the perfect example of how a narator can make or break a tale. Her flawless performance and impression accurately portrays the characters in my mind . Her performance was impeccable. She has the ability to articulate each character in a way that gives them their own voice. She is able to perform a variety of characters with different tones and voice accents with perfect pace.
