This regency romance by USA TODAY bestselling and HOLT Medallion winning author BREE WOLF about an resourceful lady and a gentleman caught in a trap proves that there is one thing love cannot do: hide.
ABIGAIL ABBOTT knows that many young women would kill to be her: whisked away to London for the Season with eligible gentlemen clamouring to win her hand. Still, after only just losing her beloved … her beloved father, Abigail feels nowhere near ready to heed her grandfather’s demand of choosing an appropriate husband. What she longs for is a friend. Someone to soothe her broken heart. Someone to make her smile.
Not a slew of suitors hell-bent on getting their hands on her dowry.
Since Abigail’s grandfather refuses to acknowledge her objections, she is left with no other choice but to find her own means of discouraging the many men that flock to her side. Now, what would it take to send them running for the hills despite the incentive of her grandfather’s dowry?
GRIFFIN RAMSEY, EARL OF AMBERLY, seriously doubts his sister’s love for him when she insists he make the acquaintance of the most awful woman he’s ever laid eyes upon. Dressed like a giant insect, Miss Abbott seems to have made it her goal in life to inflict injury upon her fellow man. Was she insane? After all, what other explanation could there be?
Clearly, Winifred wishes him to suffer for some imagined slight against her; Griffin is certain of it. Until one afternoon in Hyde Park opens Griffin’s eyes and makes him look at young Miss Abbott with different eyes.

A light hearted sweet romance. While Abigail and Griffin had a bumpy road to falling in love do to Abigail trying to make Griffin believe she is a terrible choice for a wife her schemes almost seem to work. That is until his sister who choose Abigail for her brother sees past the charade and encourages her brother to the same and not let her false façade discourage him from courting her. Abigail’s schemes had me shaking my head and laughing at her determination to be the worse choice in a wife.
This is Griffin and Abigail’s story and tells us what his sister, Winifred, does to find him a wife – much to his dismay.
It is beautifully written (as is usual for this author) and packs a lot into a novella sized story which is full of twists and turns and mischief and shows very clearly that it is possible to go against the ‘normal’ and still have a great outcome.
I just loved Abigail’s cleverly thought out plan to not get a husband which she puts into action going against her father’s insistence that she get married very soon.
Bree Wolf has never disappointed me with her stories and this novella was yet another example of excellent craftsmanship.
I happily recommend this as a very enjoyable and entertaining story which I read as an Advance Reader and the review above is unbiased and voluntarily given.
Now it is Winifred’s turn to help find the perfect mare for her brother Griffin just as he helped her. He is some what nervous knowing his sister relies more on logic than emotions while Griffin leans towards love. When Winifred meets Abby and discovers her secret she just knows this is the woman for her brother, now she must convince her brother to give the most awful woman in England a chance.
Swooning with a smile!
A short but sweet read and what a delight! I love these characters that Ms Bree paints for us. I especially loved Abigail and her genuine selflessness. Also Griffith who was willing to look a little closer into Abigail’s character and felt her heart. I am left swooning with a definite smile on my face.

I loved the strength, love and caring quality of the h. The relationship she had with her aunt was for sweet. I also enjoyed how she thawed out her grandfather’s heart. He insisted she call him by his title HIS GRACE and everything she addressed him as grandfather.
There isn’t much tension or suspense, more on the humorous side with how the h dressed to discourage men who didn’t want to get to know her. The side story of her aunt was touching.
Both the h/H have many fine qualities. I thought the author did a great job on the main character’s until the end. It all came together too quickly. Yes, I know it is a short novella (really ends just over the 90% mark), but just another chapter would have made it a 5 star review.
This is a clean story, with only a few kisses near the end. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance and no spice. (ljb)
This was both delightful and aggravating at the same time. However, I loved it anyway. This continues the story of Griffin and Winifred Ramsey, brother and sister. This time it’s Winifred’s turn to choose Griffin’s bride. Unfortunately for Griffin, Winifred chooses the most awful woman in London, Miss Abigail Abbott. I was always aggravated with Abigail when she was at her worst.
After her father’s death, Abigail is summoned to her grandfather’s home to attend the London season and he offers a very large dowry for her. This brings the suitors out of the woodwork. Abigail can’t stand that they are only after her dowry. So, she dresses outlandishly and is rude and insulting, awful, to all the men to keep them at bay, until she meets Griffin. He hates her, but Winifred convinces him to give Abigail a chance, as she believes they are a match deep down.
Will Griffin accept Abigail? Will Abigail ever show he true colors? Are they a perfect match or a match made in hell? Check out this excellent read for yourself. Enjoy!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author without expectation of a review. I voluntarily give my honest review without compensation of any kind.
I love the novels I’ve read by Bree Wolf. Conquering Her Heart was no different. It
was my go to for a trip across south Texas. The characters were well developed and the storyline was a bit different and interesting, but I am not going to say too much about the ending or you may not read it.

TOUCHDOWN!!!
Oh man what a tale. This is just one read that brought more than a smile to my face with such extreme actions to avoid unwanted attention. Bree nailed this bad boy. As the characters grow and blend together and suspense is digging their steps. They find a chemistry they didn’t expect. Bree did a magnificent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Btee, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
I loved this story! So many rich relationships show through the dialogue. The siblings love for each other is wonderful. The young woman who changes her grandfather’s life s beautiful. And of course..,the romance. This is part of a series and I definitely recommend the series. Bree Wolf can always be counted on for a great read!
Have you ever threw your fist in the air for a heroine? This heroine was by far the most clever and strong character I have come across in years. She knew how to throw off her vulture suitors in an entertaining way. Her relationship with her overbearing grandfather is another aspect that will leave you smiling. The romance is, as with all of Wolfe’s works, well crafted and moving. Read this novella if you want to smile.
Conquering her heart is a delightful quick read. I love how Abigail manages her grandfather and how they grew to love and respect each other. The hero also learned a valuable lesson, “Not all is as it seems”. I won’t give away the story but if your looking for a quick few hours of enjoyable reading, this one is worth your time.
Bree Wolf strikes gold again! This is a Regency romance that pokes fun at the snobby ton of London. Abigail, claimed to be “the most awful woman in London!” only wants suitors to see her and not her dowry. She schemes to chase away the men but then wonders if she’ll ever find someone to love. What a conundrum!
This wonderfully written story grabbed my attention from the very first page and the very likable characters kept me totally enthralled throughout the entire book! I look forward to reading more from this author!
Nice and concise story. I liked all the characters, most of all Abigail’s grandfather.
Dragged to London for a season, Abigail basically hides in plain sight, putting on an act to discourage unwanted suitors. Griffin’s sister quickly sees through the act and encourages him to take the time to do the same.
If you’re looking for a good laugh, this is the book for you
Conquering Her Heart by Bree Wolf is a light-hearted, clean and humorous Regency Romance Novella. #8 in “A Forbidden Love Novella” series, but can be read as a stand alone. Well written, well crafted with engaging, charming and entertaining characters. The storyline is witty, with laugh out loud moments, you will find yourself turning pages at the antics of the heroine. The appearance of characters from Ms. Wolf’s previous books in this series, help bring forth a satisfying conclusion to this story. An enjoyable and satisfying read.
“I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.”

A Love Worth Pursuing
While grieving her dear fathers passing, Miss Abigail Abbott must go to London for a Season she never asked for, and to meet her grandfather, the Duke of Ashold for the first time. Pursued by fortune hunters (for her enormous dowry), all Abigail wants is time and peace to grieve. What she needs is a plan to avoid suitors.
When he made a pact with his strong-willed sister, Griffin Ramsey, Earl of Amberly, knew he would live to regret it, and so he has. The thought of courting the strangest and worst woman in England leaves him with a lump of ice where his heart sits. What he needs is an out. No, what he needs is a plan to avoid his fate.
I do so love a historical romance that is filled with period descriptions, clever dialogue and humorous behavior. When all that is combined with a strong but genuine heroine, and a hero with a sincerely good heart, what you have is Conquering Her Heart by Bree Wolf. This book falls in the category of books that I wish would not end so soon. I absolutely loved it.
Ms. Wolf’s books prove that vulgar language and explicit sex are not necessary, only good writing and an interesting story. Bravo.
Disclosure: I received a complementary ARC of this book via Instafreebie from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.
Another great addition to this series. Griffin finds himself in a bet with his sister and is determined not to let her (Winifred) win because Abigail is considered the most awful woman in England. She wants to be loved not just matched to her future husband. They enter a pact together and find much more than they expected!
In this light-hearted romance, Abigail finds herself tipped out of the uncomplicated life she was familiar with and thrown into a lifestyle she had previously only dreamed about. In a bumbling attempt to right the wrongs of the past, her grandfather, the Duke of Ashold, sends Abigail’s aunt to escort her to London for a season. At first it would seem to be a dream come true, until she comes to the realisation that it’s not her the society men are desperately wooing, but her dowry and probably the connections being married to the Duke’s granddaughter will bring them. However, being the down to earth girl that she is, Abigail comes up with a plan that ultimately gives her the reputation of being the most awful woman in England. Griffin, on the other hand, rues the day he made a pact with his sister to allow her to find him a suitable wife if she let him find the husband she needed. Griffin was successful in his mission, but seriously doubts his sister’s sanity when she insists that he takes time to learn to know Abigail. The path of true love never did run smoothly and Griffin’s courtship of Abigail is fraught with disasters. Although I found Abigail’s antics somewhat immature, she does have a caring nature and is the first to admit she has made a mistake. Griffin, on the other hand, is a warm-hearted and kind person and when he looks beyond the persona that Abigail is projecting, he discovers her true nature. The story is well written, amusing and as with all the other books in the series, it is clean, making it suitable for any age group. Characters from the previous book in this series also appear in this one, nevertheless it is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
