Kira is the bada** Rebel Leader of a small band of survivors. The little group of resistors includes mostly women, but a few men too. Her sisters are part of the group and are now old enough to help lead and protect. The Vakaarans, aliens that took over the earth’s humans have taken the men for slave labor and the women
as breeders. The Vakarrans can only have male children so more females are needed to continue their race. Kira is smart and very resourceful, she has been caught a few times, but has been able to use her intellegence and survival skills to get free. As Kira defeats each group of Aliens that try to catch her, the Commander sends his best group of warriors to finally bring her in. Commander Strohass lost good friends and fighters to Kira and he has lost all patience with the little rebel. Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan and Aedan are the best warriors and their group is assigned to catch Kira and finally bring her in for punishment and training. The Vakarrans accomplish their orders and bring Kira back to start her training as a submissive breeder. The four warriors that are now Kira’s mates are dominant, tough, but do not harm her, they hurt her of course, she is a slave in training, but they care for her and make sure she is never truely harmed. Kira resents her position of submissive slave to four lusty aliens, but the guys do everything they can to train her and show they care for her well being at the same time. Kira can only think of one thing, escape and find her sister and their band of survivors. Although Zaavyr,
Coltan, Aedan and Jax take Kira sexually and some of her training is painfull, they do care for her and try to do the best for her. Unfortunately Commander Strohass has his eye on Kira too and her men know that should the commander get his hands on Kira, he will hurt her, do her harm and probably kill her. They do everything they can to keep her from meeting up with Strohass but eventually, everything they do is not enough. Kira is a real rebel, she fights her captivity as hard as she can, but is no contest to four big tough Aliens who never leave her by herself. The guys are all different in some ways, one is very caring, one is very tough and harsh, another is firm and serious while another shows caring and consideration right from the start, but don’t get me wrong, they all want Kira and will do everything they have to, to teach her how to be submissive and like it. I totally enjoyed this story, Kira was skilled and smart, the aliens she ends up with are all dominant and sexy as hell and do actually favor Kira and treat her as well
as they can as they take on her training. The sex and training scenes were steaming hot and sometimes cringe worthy but so enjoyable. I look forward to more books about the Vakarrans and to learn more about Kira’s sisters that were still on Earth.
This is a sizzling hot sci-fi romance. I could not stop reading it until the end. The sci fi adds a wonderful dimension to the whole story.
Kyra is a strong woman who has protected her sisters from being taken and enslaved by the Vakarrans. She has been able to outsmart and evade them for years. But when she is tricked, they capture her. She is made an example of for all the other enslaved humans. But for Kyra, it takes four Vakarrans to dominate and subdue her.
The chase is fun to follow. Kyra slowly accepting her fate is even better! Sara Fields is the only sci fi romance I truly enjoy and look forward to reading. I highly recommend this book.
Sara Fields is taking a walk in the dark with this one. I really loved it. I’m grooving on the current popularity of the reverse harem thing. It might not be everyone’s cup of rum, but I’m all for it. And putting in the dark and kinkery part of the spectrum and I’m even happier. I need to have a lot more of these books.
Years ago, the Vakarrans invaded the Earth. The men have all been taken as slave labor and women are taken as slave labor of another sort. Among other things, the Vakarrans need human women to be breeders. They don’t have female babies, so if they don’t want their species to die out, they need breeders. That’s why they go and raid planet after planet. I have to wonder if they let human men and women breed at some point, otherwise, they are going to have to go on to another planet in the near-ish future. Hmmmmm. Anyway, all human women were supposed to report to training camps. Women who didn’t and do get caught get punished.
On the day of the invasion, Kira’s parents shoved her and her two younger sisters out into the forest in back of their house and told them to run. The girls, for girls they were, teenagers and younger, thought that their parents would soon follow them, but they never saw them again. Now, all these years later, Kira and her sisters lead a rebel group. Mostly, the group is just a bunch of women, with a few men, who are hiding and trying to stay away from the Vakarran. Kira would like to have an active resistance, but maybe sometime in the future, not right now.
So, our 4 Vakarran guys are kind of ruthless, but they aren’t bad to Kira. Well, depends on your definition of bad. They don’t harm her, but they do punish her, which does hurt her, but there’s a difference between being hurt and being harmed. I do like how much the guys pay attention to her so that they can figure out what she wants, how she’s handling it, if they’ve pushed her too close to her limit, etc. I also like how they make her their priority. Their whole relationship is about much more than just sex or anything.
I can’t wait to see more of these stories. I’m interested to know whether they will all be RH books or not.
Captured. Mastered. Subdued. This is what Sara Fields brings the reader in Conquered (Vakarran Captives #1).
Kira is the leader of a small group of refugees and has only known the Vakarrans to take, use, and breed human females. Not a life she wanted for herself or her sisters. She would do all that she could to make sure they were kept safe.
Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, and Aedan were members of the fifth battalion, led by Commander Strohass. The commander ‘reigned over our ship with an iron fist’. Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, and Adean were Vakarrans of honor.
When Kira is apprehended by the four Vakarrans, how will she react? Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, and Adean know her secret, but what does that mean for Kira?
White hot attraction fans the flames between Kira and her captors. Soon, she falls under their dominant hands in – what appears to be – her submission.
Does it spell the end of Kira’s fighting spirit and the refugees she loves?
kira is famous for successfully rebelling against the Vakarrans. The Vakarrans, unable to have female progeny, have to seek other species for reproduction. Rather than allying themselves with other species and going through traditional cultural mating rituals, they just take over world, forcing men into physical labor and women as subservient breeders. Kira is the leader of a group of young women who have yet to be captured by the Vakarrans. Though she has been caught a couple of times, she escape each time, killing her captors in the process.
Four Vakarrans have been tasked with finally capturing her. They put their brains into it, and use her biggest strength against her. They put a human woman in danger, and trap her when she comes to the woman’s aid.
These four Vakarrans admire her bravery, strength, and rebellious attitude, but they are culturally obligated to break her and make her like the other now-mindless women slaves. And they are eager to have her broken. I found a large part of the book extremely frustrating because these four are just too dumb. They recognize that they are attracted to her for her spirit, yet they eagerly set their minds to killing everything about her they love and admire. Also, despite the fact that they come to love for her, they turn a blind eye to all of the other human women who are obviously suffering. Even though they don’t agree with the stricter Vakarrans, they don’t feel a need to help the women suffering under them in anyway. Granted, this is a part of their culture, but they are going to mentally destroy Kira if they expect her to constantly see her species being brutalized and turned into subservient pets. And while they do give her far more liberties when they are in private, she’s still expected to act in ways she doesn’t want.
Kira has some sass to her, but there were a lot times I had hoped she would make better and more cutting remarks to the four. It’s also a bit distracting that she doesn’t point out to them just how much easier life would be for them if, rather than enslaving all compatible species, they instead allied with them and found consenting mates via appropriate courtship and mating traditions. These idiots don’t realize how much more enjoyable their partners would be if they were fully into it.
The highlight of the book is when the four realize they ought to take advantage of Kira’s talents rather than trying to beat them out of her. She single-handedly takes down their main rival, a man whose cruel nature and nepotism has made their lives difficult for years. It was also interesting to ponder how a species could come into existence that can only produce male progeny. What is it that would block a male from passing on an x-chromosome? Also, what would the evolutionary advantages be to suppressing this ability? It seems to be an evolutionary detriment, but the one theory I can see as being feasible is that it is something that encourages genetic diversity. If a species constantly has to bring in another species to reproduce, genetic diversity is guaranteed, perhaps even allowing the species to take on the best traits of each species they encounter.
Many scenes are always written with a wonderful degree of natural build up. There’s often a degree of excitement and trepidation that precedes each major plot point.
By the end, Kira has grown to love all four, and she agrees to stay with them in exchange for protection for her former group, who are all still free. I didn’t find this to be enough on their part, and I would like to see these characters in subsequent books teaming up to influence change in their culture so that they view compatible species as equals, and reach out to them with consent . I think I also struggled to see their real emotions and reactions to Kira as genuine, since in their attempt to break her, they took on roles that they played (good cop/bad cop), and it was difficult at times to tell when they were playing their role and when their affection was genuine. I could feel a minor affection was forming on Kira’s part, but I couldn’t quite follow the growing fondness they had for her in the same way; it almost seemed to be summed up quickly without showing the development as much as I would have personally preferred.
Holy hotness! This book has a good plot with some intense scenes. I really liked all the characters and look forward to more in the next book.
Women reduced to sexual slaves..
Well, this story was interesting, it was recommended to me and so I started reading it. The story of Kiera with Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, and Aedan is a reverse harem paranormal romance. The plotline was good, steam was good but I wished there was more into the story and less sex scenes, I knew what I was going to find so I already knew there will be a lot, just that I really liked the plotline story of it all and wished for more, I know there are more books in the series so I am hoping to continue them.
fun read but different
This book started off very strong for me. It sucked me into the pages with the science fiction aspect of the story. It’s also apocalyptic which I like as well. I enjoy the author’s writing style, but I found some problems with the plot moving too quickly. The way the heroine is built up as a rebel is very well done, but she capitulates far too easily and quickly. I will read more from this author to see how her storytelling builds. It’s a good basis for a series with only a few minor issues that deterred from the overall aesthetic. Shows great promise.
Vakarran Captives Book One
When Kira Stryke and her sisters were young, the Vakarran warriors took over Earth. After the bombing of major cities and the death of millions of people, humans lost the battle for the planet. Kira has kept her sisters and several other humans safe for several years by hiding in the forest. She devised traps and snares for any wandering Vakarrans, thus killing some of their warriors. Now, Zaavyr, Coltan, Jax, & Aedan are determined to catch the human that their brethren have underestimated for so long. As a captive, Kira’s spirit is not dimmed, but she doesn’t stand a chance against the four aliens holding her. She feels strangely safe with them. However, Kira killed several friends of her captors’ boss, and he is not as gentle as the others.
If you’re looking for an alien captive menage romance, this is the one for you! However, dubious consent is rampant in this story, so if this is a trigger please do not read.
Audio Review:
Heather Firth narrates both male and female voices flawlessly. In fact, I almost like her male voice better than her female one.

I love steamy, I love Reverse Harem, I love BDSM/dominance and I love PNR. Couldn’t go wrong with this. This was a bit more Sci-Fi than I normally read but I thought it was great! It was heavy on the steam which I will never complain about. It was also heavy on the dominance, training, and punishment of BDSM. I honestly can’t wait to read more of this series. Is there a ton of action- no. Is that ok with me- yes! The action it had was perfect for this sexy story.
Narration was great! I loved Heathers deeper voice for this role. She has a fantastic male voice as well! Every now and then I heard the Canadian come through but it was great!! Loved it!!
Onto Mastered I go!!

This was my first Sara Fields’s book. This is the first book in the Vakarran Captives Series. This is a Sci-Fi Romance, and dark Reverse Harem. You should read the Publisher’s Note before listening to this dark romance. It includes dark scenes. The storyline of this Fantasy Romance is really hot, and suspenseful. Kira is a warrior, a badass, and also a smart woman. Her four aliens, Jax, Coltan, Aedan and Zaavyr, are strong, and dominant, but also surprisingly caring and loving. The story was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I liked it. Heather Fith has a beautiful voice, and her male voice is really great! She did an amazing job with the narration. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series to know what happens next. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
The blurb describes itself as a dark sci-fi and it definitely lives up to that with a lot of BDSM sprinkled about. It puts dark BDSM fantasies into a story for you. Kira is a great character: strong, beautiful, intelligent and bad-ass. I loved her character but wasn’t crazy about the mind games the guys did. Even with all the sex and BDSM the story still gave you a plot. I would love to see more main characters like Kira.
Three words to describe this story… Dark. Dirty. Delicious! I can’t stop thinking about it. Holy crap what a story. It’s like an amazing action show but it’s gotta be on HBO cause it’s so freaking dirty and naughty. You will need some alone time with your bed and your b.o.b. I’m embarrassed to say that I absolutely loved the story!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and couldn’t stop reading. The author painted the perfect picture of the female lead and her men aren’t just normal guys. Each one has their own personality and behavior. I think I like Colton the best. Without spoiling anything I’d like to say this is without a doubt the best book from the author so far and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
When I was asked to listen to a sci fi romance, I was hesitant. Will it be cheesy aliens and spaceships? Not sure I was ready for that, I dug into my first book by Sara Fields and fell in love. Not only does she capture the essence of sci fi in this reverse harem, but she writes the eroticism with class and true feeling. The Vakarran have taken over earth, and are taking human women as their breeders. Kyra is a human female, taking care of her sisters, and is a true fighter. She is a warrior the Vakarran want to stop, but she has alluded their capture. When she is tricked though, seizing her is not only a surprise, but she has the necessity to escape. The four men have another plan for her. Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, & Aedan are going to break her down and make her theirs. She will submit! Each man with his own traits, slowly breaks her down. But what isn’t expected is the depth of their feelings for her. When danger does comes to her, will these men save her? Will they let her go? The story is full of passion, steam, and an underlying plot to keep the Vakarran on top. It’s told in 5 points of view and will keep you entranced the entire time.
Heather Firth is amazing at storytelling. This book with it’s 5 points of view, 4 of them being male was easy to listen to, we knew who was speaking and flowed effortlessly. I really enjoyed her narration of the story and can’t wait for the next in the series.
Out of this World! A Great Story & Audible Listen
Conquered: A Dark Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance
Vakarran Captives, Book 1
By: Sara Fields
Narrated by: Heather Firth
Sara Fields creates an imaginative universe, with equally imaginative characters. The earth has been invaded and taken over by aliens from outer space called the Vakarrans. They are all males & they enslave women to mate & breed with. Kira Stryke is the leader of a group of humans who have evaded capture, she is a warrior and a protected. She has been on the Vakarrans radar for quite some time, after several teams failed attempts, Commander Zaavyr and his team, Jax, Coltan & Aedan, capture her. They plan to break her spirit and keep her as their own. I enjoyed this fast paced story, the storylines and world dynamics are interesting containing angst, drama and twists that keep you on your toes. There are also some smoking hot RH BDSM scenes too. Sara Fields thank you for this enjoyable and entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition narrated by the talented Heather Firth. She is a wonderful voice performer and storyteller. She brings the characters to life from the pages to your ears. Thank you for another great & entertaining listen!!
Thank you AudiobookObsession
I read this book in an afternoon…couldn’t put it down. So many twists and turns and steamy scenes. Wow, I just had to get the rest of the books in the series. Fantastic reading.
The whole premise was a little ridiculous: An alien occupying force made up of just warriors that enslaves the local population then uses the women for breeding? Isn’t that a little unsustainable? Since they are breeding with what they consider to be a lesser species, wouldn’t they get weaker with each succeeding generation? Wouldn’t their children start identifying wit the planet they were born on rather than the occupiers? Assuming there is never an uprising, the whole thing would last about 100 years before the indigenous population dies off, leaving the occupiers with a planet they can no longer exploit for lack of people and no more women to breed. So do they just pick up and move on to the next planet? On top of that, the warriors fall in love with their breeding slaves and start acting all soft and emotional. Seriously? It wasn’t worth the $.99 I paid for it.
