My cheeks and stomach are hurting with laughing and smiling like crazy while reading Conheartists by K. Webster and JD Hollyfield. This story was equally hilarious and steamy. The dynamic duo created a set of absolutely adorable and unforgettable characters here. And the story line will give some of my very favorite con movies run for money.
Francis and Leo are the lead characters and lead couple in the story. Francis is so cute and lovable with her a bit loony, a bit odd, a bit quirky and a bit of innocent personality. She was born and brought up in a small town where nothing ever happens. And she has this boring life there with her old but young friends, chandler aka her dog aka her best friend, love for smutty romance and VHS. Leo, the supremely notorious and hunted by all law enforcement has to kidnap her and deliver her to mob boss holding his sister and niece captive. During this unexpected journey Leo finds out this sheltered woman is a bombshell with many feathers in her cap. And Francis finds Leo can be actually one of the romance heroes she always fantasize about. The authors will take you to a funny as hell, action packed and entertaining path. What lies at the end? Well you have to see. The secondary characters are equally insane and surprising.
The way Francis helped Leo to pull out con was so amazing to read. They do impossible tricks together. I could not stop laughing out loud at their shenanigans as they make a cross country joureny in full con artist style. I am in love with Francis! She is so fearless, compassionate, smart and sweet with own brand of craziness. Leo gets upset and irritated with her stunts but slowly feels a camaraderie and then love for this incredible woman. Today they will take down the biggest enemies as they can be really ferocious while protecting people they love. It blended con movie suspense, rom com, steamy passion and sweet love perfectly.
Conheartists by K Webster and JD Hollyfield will stage a con on your heart and steal it from right under your nose. I had a blast while reading it and I am sure you will too.
Received ARC for Honest review
This heart racing adventure had me laughing at the ridiculous antics of these wonderful characters, heating up, swooning, crying, and turning pages like an addict. Never have I laughed so much and cried so hard from the same book. Conheartists is a special blend of comedy, thriller, gangster, romance. 100% loved this story, and all the craziness. I really hope these characters all get other book!
These gifted authors’ have done an amazing job with Francis and Luca’s story. This is a beautifully written story which is hilarious from the very beginning, with crazy shenanigans, which lead to a fun, entertaining, steamy read with a tad suspense, which all had me totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all readers.
So funny! I loved how quirky & odd Francis was! She’s kind of lonely and not always with it, but I found her so enjoyable to read! Luca is oddly swoony. He’s not the best guy around but I enjoyed watching him take in Francis & Chandler! They got into the craziest situations and I haven’t laughed so hard at a book in the longest time!!
The Conheartist by K Webster & JD Holyfield is a whole lot of tomfoolery and shenanigans. I loved it. I haven’t laughed this much and out loud while reading a book ever. Luca is a con artist who finds himself in hot water. When he thinks he might get free he gets a phone call. Someone has his sister and niece, if he doesn’t deliver Frannie to Mr. Death his family will get hurt. Frannie has lived a sheltered life and she is a tad quirky. The trip from New Jersey to California was hilarious between Luca and Frannie. I couldn’t get enough of this story. I loved Frannie’s naivete. She was so clueless that she was down right funny. I couldn’t help but laugh my way through this story. I could have read more about these two. 5 belly laughing stars for me. Book 2 please! I definitely want more from this duo.
I don’t even know if I have enough words to describe this. From the very beginning I was intrigued with what was going to happen. It quickly turns into an adventure I wouldn’t have thought possible. Francis is quirky and funny and so naive but pairing her with Luca was just the icing on the cake. Francis’s love of romances is right up my alley and the shenanigans these two get up to is just perfect. It also helps that her dog Chandler Bing is also along for the ride. I could not stop laughing. I had to take breaks because I couldn’t breathe from all the laughing. I was left smiling at the end and I didn’t want it to end.
Omg my stomach hurt so bad from all the laugh
These authors duet is crazy and dirty! Don’t, and I say again, don’t read this book in public unless you want to be taken to the Looney house
I laugh so hard from the moment Frannie eldery bestie give her smuth romance to read. The lady sure got more action then Frannie
Then when she’s so “excited” to be kidnapped by Luca and their crazy, wild, unexpected Cross country journey begins.
I trully enjoy Conheartis specially after my dark reads. Don’t over think this book. Enjoy and have fun laugh all through this book.
And by the end of the book, don’t drink. Cause you’ll find your self choke your drink for what Billy the goat tongue done to Chandler Bing the dog
So freaking funny! I kind you not Francis had me dyingggggg. The stuff she came up with was unbelievably funny. And Luca let us just swoon over how much her cares about his sis and niece. But also holy moly that man knows how to be dirty! Id react a book scene too with him if he let me haha! Mabel and Beatrice these two were hoots and lets not forget Henry, Gordon, and Mr. Death This cast of characters were a riot to read and i can’t wait for more!
Conheartists is the story of a kidnapper and his sheltered kidnappee, one who may be a better con than he is.
Full of humor, witty one-liners, and bold side characters, Conheartists is funny and lighthearted.
It was a little too over-the-top ridiculous. Some of the situations were just too much for me. Francis was too sheltered and wasn’t aware of so much about the real world, and Luca (while dreamy) just went along with the whirlwind that is Franny.
Definitely fun to read, but my eyes were rolling by the end.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

I am going to go ahead and warn you that this book is hilarious and you will not be able to put it down. This is the story of a conman who is going to kidnap an adorable sheltered woman and it turns into a cross country, hilarious adventure that just might lead these two to happily ever after. I loved this book and could not put it down. When these two write together it is absolutely magical. I loved it and can not recommend it enough.
So… go ahead and think of the CRAZIEST, INSANE, COMPLETELY OFF-THE-CHARTS thing ever to happen to you, or something you heard about or even something you thought would be way too wild to EVER do, TOO MUCH to ever do. That is ConHEARTists. It’s off the charts, it’s insane, it’s wild, and it’s so amazingly awkward and uncomfortable and HILARIOUS. I LOVED IT SO HARD!!!! Yes, I know, I’m yelling throughout most of my review… but it’s THAT AMAZE-BALLS!!!
Goodness gracious, these two authors are completely on another level with their humor. I adore the way they write together. The fun they must have. The fun I have while reading their words. I like me some funny books. I love a story to make me giggle and smile wistfully. I full out gut laughed. K. Webster and JD Hollyfield had me shouting out in surprised laughter. I don’t know how I was surprised when they tipped over into crazyland!! This level of insanity is my favorite ever!! I am pretty sure JD Hollyfield and K. Webster just gave a completely new sub-genre in RomComs… it’s called Pee-yourself-laughing-so-hard RomCom. It might be my favorite genre EVER!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
When these two authors co-write a book, absolute magic happens!
From funny to downright filthy Ms. Holyfield and Ms. Webster has it in spades!
Conheartists is the laugh out loud funny story of Luca and Francis with the K. Webster kink!
You really go down a rabbit hole with this story, there is so much going on that it epically crazy, yet flows so right! Make sure you check every chapter heading so you know which character is talking to you!
I always find it amazing when author’s co-write a story and it just meshes so well! I couldn’t tell you who wrote what and that’s what makes this dynamic duo really shine.
Francis is such a character, her rambling mind and take no prisoners attitude makes her so awkwerid it’s adorable. She sees the positive in everything and that just makes me love her more. We all need a little lightness in our world and Francis has it!
Luca is a true con-artist. He is witty and smart and he is loyal to the ones he loves. I fell for him when he fell for Frannie! What he wouldn’t do for her is a very short list.
Get your hands on this book and your heart will be conned just like the title says….Conheartists! You’re gonna love it!
There’s something to be said about a book that makes you laugh out loud and this book did that, over and over again. I can’t remember the last time I snorted while reading but gotta say it’s a great feeling. This was my first book by both these authors and it most certainly will not be my last. Francis is all kinds of quirky and crazy (in a good way) and you can’t help but love her for being the totally off centered person she is. What choice does poor Lucas have other than to fall head over heals for his loony road trip companion? With a host of incredible supporting characters and their goat companions this book is the perfect rom com mix that will have you gasping out loud and snorting pop out of your nose (seriously that happened – burned like a son of a biscuit) but it was a price I happily paid for the chance to read an ARC copy of this book. Add this to your TBR list right away, you won’t regret it.
What a hilarious read!
If your looking for something to make you laugh, shake your head at with how ridiculous some of the things Frannie comes out with or just swoon with how Luca is then this is the book for you!
It was kind of a whirlwind of a book, the conversations, the situations was up in the air 9 times out of 10.
Like i said Frannie was a hoot, she was kinda ridiculous sometimes but she was loveable. Her love for Mr Bing and Richard was concerning at first but then the more you read she just has a big heart.
Luca was amazing, yes he was a con-man but everything he done was for the right reasons and then lines started blurring because even though Frannie drove him crazy he couldn’t resist her crazy.
Seriously pick this book up if you need a laugh!
This book was hilarious, nothing about it can be taken seriously and that is one of the reasons I loved it. There are so many awesome characters, one cat that likes to dress up, six goats and little dog named Chandler Bing in it. Conheratists had me laughing from first to the last page. There were so many moments that had laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes and some moments that seriously freaked me out .I love K.Webster and J. D. Hollyfield writing together, and I really hope they never stop.
Francis is one of the most unique characters I’ve ever read about. She is obsessed with Richard Simmons, her two best friends are seventy years old twin sisters Beatrice and Mabel. She is completely nuts, sometimes immature, kind, irritating but at the same time so freaking adorable.I loved Luca and I think he was the only sane character in this book. He and Francis are complete opposites but at the same time so perfect for each other. I loved secondary characters just as much as the main ones. Specially Bet,she is awesome!
Conheartists is unlike anything I’ve ever read before, there is a lot of adventure, action and hilarious characters that will had you laughing all the time while you are reading it and brighten your day!
5 laughing my butt off stars!!! This book is strange, funny, over the top and add in a sprinkle of romance!!
What do you get with a con artist, a sheltered Richard Simmons loving woman, a Richard Simmons loving dog, two old but hilarious old ladies, a romance reading ex army man, a Jean Claude Van Damme look alike, a goat boss, a goat who is a whore and a man who dresses his cat up?!?! You get one funny ass book!!!
Omg I laughed so hard with this book. Like people entered the room I was is to make sure I was ok because I was gut laughing. The beginning of this book was a little more on the strange side but as the book went you realize strange and these characters go hand in hand.
The couple in this book are like complete opposites and I love it. He is there to kidnap her and she is just trying to live out her book fantasy. Except she ends up getting wayyyy more then that.
I could not even tell this was written by two separate authors. It was seamless. If you want a rom com that will have you laughing until you cry this is the book for you!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
4 Cranky Stars
This book is quirky, and I dig it. It’s like a bunch of troupes married into one crazy book. We have a mobster with goat minions, a rather strange 22 year old woman named Francis and a con artist with enough swagger and good looks to get him anything he wants within reason of course. Hijinks ensue and boy you must hold onto your seat for this ride. Kidnapping and running from the mob has never been so funny or make you swoon like the story of Francis and Luca.
Francis runs an antique shop that was once owned by her mother. Her only friends are two batty old broads one that works with Frannie and of course her precious dog Chandler Bing. This town is all she knows so she stocks her freezer with Lean Cuisine and hopes to get her hands on the next VHS of Sweating to the Oldies. One thing you’ll never see Francis do is curse she has a language all her own. She is totally not your typical 22-year-old woman. When suddenly out the blue as she’s about to sweat to the oldies a man starts beating on her door. She is scared and boy Chandler isn’t having it, but the man breaks in anyway and takes Francis with him. Luca is a con artist and his latest con didn’t go according to plan. When he is tasked with kidnapping a woman and getting her to LA in exchange for his family, he knows he’s about to add kidnapping to his list of crimes. He wasn’t expecting Francis and her wacky ways and her ankle biting dog. She annoys him and he just wants to get them to their destination in one piece. Slowly but surely Francis proves she an asset to his cons and invites her into the fold. He starts to slowly fall for her not expecting what will happen next to be why he was put in Francis path.
Like I said quirky and strange. I think at times Francis annoyed me. I know she was sheltered but man she’s a neurotic mess. Funny at times sure but I guess it takes someone like Luca to put up with her. This book was told from duel points of view of course then we get one weird chapter by an unlikely source and that made me go ok then. The most random things happen to Francis and Luca like skinny-dipping with pot heads and commandeering the Mystery Machine. I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like it. I really liked the last few chapters and I wish the book had more of that. Their road trip is one for the books that’s for sure. I’m happy to say I got to read this gem. Even the goatfather didn’t scare me.
5 SQUIRRELLY STARS!
This book is crazy hilarious! I had the best time reading it, had me laughing from beginning to the end. It was, a hell of ride, a nutty, funny, romantic, exciting, action filled road trip across country, and I loved it. The story had a natural flow to it. The characters are simply fantastic. Luca, is the serious one in the beginning, until he encounters Frances. She is a totally adorable, loony, naive small town girl, who flipped Luca’s world upside down, softened him, brought tons of lol moments in his life, and he didn’t have any other choice, but simply to fall in love with her. Frannie, with her bubbly, joyous personality, manages to turn the most serious situations into a fun adventurous experience, because, yes there are serious moments in the story too. The secondary characters, Frannie’s and Luca’s sidekick Bingy-boo; her friends, the Senior Squad: Mabel, Beatrice, Henry, and even Gordon at one point; not to mention Mr, Dr., I mean Poppa Death, his goats, Lindsey and Cala only add to the fun factor. This book is a must read for any ROM-COM fan, I also think it would make a great movie. Now don’t ponder anymore, just go grab it, and start reading. You’re welcome!
This was a funny, quirky adventure. I was a little leery when it started out but it soon captured my attention and kept me laughing for most of the book. The characters are unique and endearing. Especially Frannie. She is adorably naive and cracked me up on more than one occasion. Luca is not a good guy but his heart is in the right place and he soon falls for the crazy, quirky Frannie. They have a crazy dynamic but it works. Don’t even get me started on Mabel, Beatrice, Henry, Dr. Death. They were a hoot! You can’t leave out Mr. Bing and the goats either (you’ll just have to read to understand). lol. I loved all of the characters.
I really enjoyed this unique, and sometimes crazy story. There was action from start to finish with a little steam thrown in there. At times it was over-the-top & a bit ridiculous but it was so funny, I didn’t mind it. It was a quick read, and I am glad to have read it.
****ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.****
This story gets crazier as it keeps going. Francis is just coo coo and you don’t know if Luca is any better considering he likes her so much. This is one of those books that I would categorize as cleaning your palate type of book. It’s exactly what is needed after reading too many of the same stories. It’s refreshing. And honestly, it escapes me how these authors came up with so many twists and fun adventures. It’s like watching a mix of movies like “Something Wild” and “Weekend at Bernie’s” were you just wonder- WHAT JUST HAPPENED? It’s super entertaining sweet madness. You need this in your life.
