This is one of the best, if not THE best Harlequin book, I have ever read. Although I had not read the previous 2 books, with the always helpful Harlequin Cast of Characters at the beginning and the author inserting short explanations of what happened previously, this was easily read as a stand alone. Second chances are my favorite, but this story is also an action packed, can’t put it down, page turner with a surprise “I didn’t see that coming” toward the end, and they do get their HEA. This book has it all. Peyton Sterling and Colin McKenzie, best friends since 2nd grade and gradually becoming sweethearts should have been together, but her family blew their relationship out of the water. Ten years later they are united under very dangerous circumstances, when Peyton’s brother breaks out of prison. Peyton’s parents lied to both of them, but their love for each other eventually saves them. Can’t say any more without giving away spoilers,
Interesting, quick read. Very enjoyable!
While one family is dysfunctional, the other is not. Loved Conflicting Evidence…
Just finished Lena Diaz’s Conflicting Evidence part of the Mighty McKenzies series. From the beginning I couldn’t figure out how Collin McKenzie and Peyton Sterling could ever end up together or … how I as a reader could buy them ending up together without closing the book to a “Yeah, right.” But somehow Lena Diaz pulled if off. Filled with police procedure and info on U.S. Marshals (my favorite), I couldn’t put this book down. Ms. Diaz works hard to get the details right whether it’s a exploding car, coroner’s report or burn scars. And when you get to the mystery — look out. Pretty cool twists and interesting outcome. I never saw one character coming. Lena Diaz is a star.
Conflicting Evidence was a fast-paced, suspenseful read with great characters. From the first page until the last, this pulse pounding thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. Colin and Peyton were endearing characters that were meant to be together. This amazing read was full of action, suspense, intrigue and of but, it was the wonderful characters that pulled me in and kept me pulling for them until the end. I can’t wait to read what this talented author writes next.
A must read. I love this series. This is book 3-
We have US Marshall Colin McKenzie, and he won’t stop to put the man who broke out of prison back behind bars. Even if it is the women’s brother he has loved all his life. What he didn’t expect was to have said women interfere. Now they have to work together or things were not going to be easy for her.
Peyton knows Colin is doing his job, but she also knows her brother is not guilty of the crimes that led him to prison.
See what happens and order this book.
Also read the others in this series. Ms. Diaz is amazing in each book. So don’t miss any..
