Sweet Small-Town Romance
I love the hero in this story. He makes a few missteps at the very beginning, but not only is he a serious, responsible, and hard-working guy who loves his family, but he’s also a gentleman and treats the heroine with such respect. I love seeing that in a contemporary romance. Surprisingly, that doesn’t happen as often as it should. The first scene shows us that the heroine is trying to juggle two men at the same time, kind of at the suggestion of her roommate, but it is not going well. She’s just not that type of girl. The first scene is where we see her with the guy who is clearly not going to be the one. He is definitely a player, making nearly every sentence laden with innuendo and flirting with the waitress right in front of her! I got an inkling right away of how the story might unfold once we found out a little more about the hero’s background and family, but the author didn’t fully reveal things until much later than a story, leaving a little niggling question in the back of my mind as to how it would all shake out in the big scene that had to be coming. The couple is adorable, and when things finally got steamy, they did so in a sweet and appropriately passionate way. This is a fun small-town rancher romance with a sweet and lovely couple at its core. Sometimes you just feel that need to read a contemporary romance with just such a couple in such a place. I quite enjoyed this gentle love story.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.
Elise just started dating Conway a month ago and he does not call or ask for a date on a regular basis so she thinks he is dating other women so she goes out with Wyatt a few times but he is a big flirt and also drinks too much so she tells Wyatt she does not want to date him any more. She decides to focus on Conway and see how that goes after he tells her it is calfing season and it will take up much of his time until it is over. Things with Conway are going great until she goes to meet his family only to find out that his brother is Wyatt and things quickly go badly. Can Elise and Conway salvage the relationship that they started?
When Conway says he wants to keep things casual, Elise assumes he’s dating other women. She begins to also date Wyatt, not knowing his relationship to Conway. There’s no spark with Wyatt, though, certainly nothing like what she feels with Wyatt. This is a wonderful opener to this new series by one of my favorite authors. I love that it’s set in the past, as a background for the series. The dating issue nearly tears his family apart. Elise and Conway are just wonderful together, even if it was a bumpy road to their happy ending.

Kiss me, Conway
This was so damn cute. I loved Conway and Elise together. They matched each other perfectly. And whilst they had a little trouble finding their way to their HEA, it was a very satisfying one. What a beautiful set up to what I know is going to be another fabulous series! I so cannot wait to meet their kids!
* I received an advanced copy from the author. This is my honest review given freely.
