“A hilarious tale . . . hijinks worthy of classic I Love Lucy episodes . . . too good to pass up.”—USA TodayBecky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London’s trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season’s must-haves. The only trouble is, she can’t actually afford it—not any of it. Her job writing at Successful Saving magazine not only bores … Successful Saving magazine not only bores her to tears, it doesn’t pay much at all. And lately Becky’s been chased by dismal letters from the bank—letters with large red sums she can’t bear to read. She tries cutting back. But none of her efforts succeeds. Her only consolation is to buy herself something . . . just a little something.
Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life—and the lives of those around her—forever.

Praise for Sophie Kinsella and Confessions of a Shopaholic
“Kinsella’s Bloomwood is plucky and funny. . . . You won’t have to shop around to find a more winning protagonist.”—People
“If a crème brûlée could be transmogrified into a book, it would be Confessions of a Shopaholic.”—The Star-Ledger
“A have-your-cake-and-eat-it romp, done with brio and not a syllable of moralizing. . . . Kinsella has a light touch and puckish humor.”—Kirkus Reviews

This is one of my favorite series to reread when I’m looking for a good laugh. Becky Bloomwood is delightfully messy when it comes to her own life, but manages to keep a poised outward appearance as everything around her falls apart. Between shopping for Gucci and praying someone magically pays her MasterCard bill, she finds love, a little …
This is the book and author that made me a reader. It’s also the series that made me want to be a writer.
Absolutely love this book.
One of my favorite authors! This series isso funny and , sadly close to my shopping habits…lol. Enjoy this awesome first in the series. I have read it several times!
I love Sophie Kinsella’s novels and the first installment in the adventures of Becky Bloomwood is one of my all-time favorites and one I’ve read many times over the years. The voice in this novel is so fun and witty. It’s the perfect book when you are looking for something that will leave you with a smile on your face and make you laugh out loud. …
The best book to read this weekend so you don’t feel so bad about maxing out your credit card..Sophie keeps it fun and quirky in this one and you are sure to fall in love with the entire series.
I know this is a popular series, but I just couldn’t handle the main character. She was spoiled and bratty, and lied all the time to get her way. She just wasn’t likeable to me.
Loved her Amazon purchases shopping for anything on sale whether she needed it or notl
Entertaining read.
Crazy funny, like all Kinsella’s stories.
A very fun read
It was a fun read. Good escapism
I read this book years ago and then a stay-at-home movie night highlighting the big screen version with Isla Fisher made me want to re-read it again. Isla is the perfect “Rebecca Bloomwood,” the fast-talking, lovable protagonist who gets into a mountain of debt, but let’s face it… has the best wardrobe of anyone I know. I recommend this easy …
Cute, quirky leading character.
I really enjoyed this book. As a woman, I can identify with Becky (the main character), specifically her spending habits. Her spending is out of control and it causes many hilarious situations in the book. I had some good laughs.
Review after reading book for the second time:
I loved the main character, Becky. Her thoughts and actions while …
Shopaholic can only be described as classic chick lit. Kinsella does a great job with this book, her first big chick lit seller, and launched a 1000 other wannabes most of which were not as good. She has of course gone on to write many other books many of them also excellent reads. If you haven’t read this already you should definitely jump in.
Love, love, love this series!
Hilarious and warm hearted. Wonderful surprises and insightful messages. Main character is delightfully unaware of her short comings…
Becky Bloomwood is hysterical in every installment of the Shopaholic series. She has a naivete that is so endearing, relatable experiences, realistic relationships and the funniest ability to get herself in (and then out) of all sorts of mayhem. It’s the most fun to watch her get out over and over again.
Always a pleasure to read Sophie Kinsella’s books and will always be better than the film version released in 2009. Wonderful characters that will stick to you and a complete page-turner that gets to reading until the end.
