With over 600 “Five Star” reviews. Let’s face it. Most of us are clueless when it comes to praying. Why is that? And how come we’ve never done anything about it? In Confessions of a Prayer Slacker, author Diane Moody traces her own personal prayer journey with a touch of humor and a healthy dose of transparency. ‘‘I want my readers to stop the merry-go-round of prayerlessness, … stop the merry-go-round of prayerlessness, quit acting like a bunch of spiritual babies, and get serious about this thing called prayer. Without it, we’ll never experience the warm, one-on-one relationship God desires to have with each one of us.’’

She got me at the Title! Although I praise the Lord with reading and worship and song, I admit that my prayer life though frequent is “deep”. I find myself saying the same prayers of years gone by. Rather than having an ongoing dialogue with my Lord, who I profess my full love to. Diane Moody self professes not to be an expert in prayer. …
Best book I’ve read on prayer
I found this book one of the best I have read. It really impacted me. I prayed while I was reading and I’m beginning my new prayer life this morning. Thank you Diane, how I would like to have a chat over coffee one day.
Just like the book of James, an “ in your face” all excuses confronted, joy filled book that will encourage you in your faith walk.
A great read! I saw myself in so many pages of this book. And even though I’d rather some of these situations were different, I wasn’t left there feeling stuck. The encouragement I received from this book was much appreciated! If a deeper relationship with Jesus is burning in your heart but you’re not quite sure how to get there, this book will …
Reading this for the second time to let it sink in. Could hardly put it down so had
to go back and take each chapter separately. Has helped tremendously in my
pursuit of a regular prayer time.
An honest look at our missing prayer lives. Very straightforward in dealing with excuses.
This is a well written book, easy to read and well worth the read.
Great challenge for everyday life. I read it when God was really working on me.
This book helped me get my prayer life in order and made me look at praying in a different way.
I thought this was a really great book to use as a Bible study book. I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the book when i found a study guide. I believe this would generate some interesting and thought-provoking discussions.
One to read and re-read often. Honest and empathetic insight into starting and maintaining a daily prayer journey. It’s as if the author is sitting face-to-face with the reader and sharing her most personal self and prayer journey.
I enjoyed this book on a surface level. I was looking for help in my own prayer life. Not sure it helped much, but it was very entertaining.

Great tips on motivating yourself to pray more and how to pray, told in an interesting way, with great analogies to illustrate important points.
I did not care for the book.
