Really enjoyed this book!
As fan of Little House on the Prairie and loving to hate Nellie Oleson, I really enjoyed Alison Arngrim’s Confessions of a Prairie Bitch. I wish she could have gone into a little more detail about her on set experiences but understand that one has to walk a fine line when talking about celebrities. She handled the issues with her brother in a …
Some really interesting background about a key character on an iconic show. I always liked Little House on the Prairie but never considered myself a die hard fan. Looking back, though, I can see what a memorable show it was. The author’s story is part sad, part fascinating, and part heroic. It was interesting to read, and shocking the degree of …
Amazing book
I not finished …. but really enjoining so far
Funny! Inspiring! I have to recommended this book! Whether or not your are/were a fan of Little House on the Prairie this book is a MUST read! I actually listened to the audible version which is read by the author herself and it was great! In between stories of life on set she talks about the abuse she experienced as a child and how she used that …
Very informative and entertaining
Hollywood life, behind the scenes
As a fan of Little House on the Prairie I appreciated what the author shared about her life and growing up on a popular tv show. I also enjoyed hearing about her life on and off the set.
This was just a really fun and easy read memoir. I enjoyed the author’s candidness and humor. There was a tragedy involved but the author seems to have weathered the storm.
Don’t bother
Alison Arngrim has faced some bad stuff in her life. She lays it out in this book with honesty, a positive attitude and a lot of humor. If you were a fan of Little House or are a fan of celebrity biographies, you will enjoy this. Alison’s life story draws you in and keeps you entrenched. This is highly recommended.
I loved this book! Allison seems like one of the nicest people and just the type of person that I would love to do lunch with. She definitely had a very rough childhood, but she is a shining example of someone that made “lemonade from lemons”. I really enjoyed reading about Allison’s life story, her great friendship with Melissa Gilbert and …
I thought it would be fun to read some behind the scenes stories from making the Little House TV series. However, this isn’t The Nellie Oleson Story. Alison Arngrim has led a fascinating life, from birth through the present time. She is funny and forthright, and her strength and resilience is inspirational. I could barely put this book down. I’ve …
Great story
This was very well written and entertaining. I was surprised because I didn’t expect it to be. Though the author has experienced some severe abuse by her brother and in my opinion neglect by her parents, there is not a hint of self pity in her writing. This says a lot about counseling to me. I had to mention the abuse because it is part of the …
Didn’t care for it. Slow reading. Didn’t finish. Not what I expected
it was barely ok
I have read all the books written by the various actresses from Little House on the Prairie. This one was a bit unexpected as I did not know a lot about Alison Arngrim. She is one to be admired and respected for all that she has done with her life.
I really enjoyed this book. It was honest and gave me a better insight as to the “Prarie Bitch”. Watching a loving Little House on the Prarie, Nellie was not my favorite character. But, after reading this book, I’ve gained a lot of respect for the real person she is, and what a talented actress she is. I’m so glad she wrote it and so glad a read …
