Everyone treats Phoenix like the baby of the family. Well, she is, but she’s twenty-two now, so she’d appreciate it if her family stopped acting like she’s a thirteen-year-old who needs a curfew. Wanting to escape her family house, she takes a nanny job never realizing how appealing a single dad could be, until Griffin answers the door.
Phoenix has been wanting her brother Denver to introduce her to his friend Griffin Thorne for years and he’s always refused to but now is her chance, Griffin is moving to their quaint little town of Lake Starlight with his son and his looking for a nanny. No, Phoenix isn’t a nanny she has dreams of becoming a singer but she can watch a eight year old kid while his dad helps her dreams come true can’t she.
This story was so much fun I didn’t want it to end. The chemistry was great and I absolutely loved the way Phoenix became momma bear when Maverick was having trouble at school. Oh and Maverick totally stole my heart, just don’t call him Mav 😉
This series has been so much fun to read. I am always looking forward to the next book and I am sad that there are only a few more of the Bailey siblings to go, Phoenix was #6 out of 9 to find her HEA….what are we going to do when they are all happily married off with kids??? Well, I really do hope Piper and Rayne have plans to revisit them every now and then.
This book as well as the series is one I would highly recommend to all contemporary romance book lovers as well as those who enjoy ROM-COM. Phoenix and Griffin’s story is a May/December romance (age gap) as well as a Boss/Employee Romance so if either of those tropes interest you I would recommend this book as well. Each book can be read as a standalone but for the full enjoyment of the family dynamics I would highly recommend reading the series in order.
Happy Reading!!!

Phoenix has been struggling for a while now, trying to find her place. Everyone else in the Bailey family seems to have their life sorted out. All her siblings are finding partners and getting married. Sure she is the youngest but even her twin Sedona seems to have found love and a direction in life. When her move to LA didn’t quite turn out the way she planned, she came home to Starlight and everyone has been trying to help her find what she should do. She still want to sing damn it, she just needs to find her confidence and a new way into the business. When she hears ex music producer Griffin Thorne is moving to town, she thinks she has a plan. Man does she get more than she planned for.
Griffin has had enough of the wonderful world of music and LA and all that comes with stardom. Divorced from his cheating ex-wife, he decides that he needs to give his son, more than what LA has to offer. Determined to start anew in the one place that he has always loved. New house, new town and time to spend with Maverick. It sounds perfect. Now to find a nanny to help and he will be set. But in small town Alaska that is not necessarily an easy task. When he stubbles upon the beautiful and willing Phoenix.
After spending some time with Griffin and Maverick, she has come to terms with the fact that he is not going to help her out, but she can at least work and save some money to head back to LA for round two. Maverick and Phoenix get along great, and she is slowly bringing him out of his shell. Helping him to become a carefree kid, like he should be. Griffin and Phoenix have their work cut out for them, trying to fight off the attraction and chemistry they feel for each other. This is a line that shouldn’t be crossed. Griffin struggles with trusting that people don’t always want something from him, as was the way in LA.
Will Phoenix find her way back to LA and to a singing career she has dreamed of since she was little and her daddy told her she will hold the spotlight? Or will she find much more with a wonderful young boy and his dad?
In true Bailey fashion there was loads of humor in this book, but many other emotions as well. I was quickly sucked into the story and wanting to see if there would be an HEA at the end. Only a few more siblings to get their stories now.

I have been dying to get my hands of Pheonix’s story from the first time we met her. I just knew when she finally fell it would be an amazing story. And boy did Piper and Rayne deliver. They brought a story full of growing and healing and I loved every second of it.
The Bailey’s have had my heart from the start and this book is brings yet more reasons why I want to pack up and move to Alaska and become an honorary Bailey.
I am afraid to say too much about this one as I don’t want to give anything away. But I will say that I love love loved this one and absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next in this series! Juno’s story is another that I have been dying for.
Phoenix Bailey is 22 years old and has recently returned to Lake Starlight after her attempt at making it big in Los Angeles failed. Yet when she discover that a music producer, Griffin Thorne, has moved to town and needs a nanny she jumps at chance to work for him, even if she isn’t quite qualified for the job.
But what happens when the music producer declares he is no longer in the game and can Phoenix hold her secrets in long enough not to lose him?
This has to be one of my favorite series ever. I know when I pick up these books that I am in for a night of laughs and romance. It’s amazing how a book can just pick you up and get you out of the funk you are in and this series completely has the power to do it.
I love Phoenix and totally understood why she maybe exaggerated a little in order to get the job with Griffin. I loved that she really had no idea what to do with Maverick, his 8 year old son, but the two formed a close bond quickly and I loved everything that Phoenix did for him.
Griffin was a little more complex as I gave him credit for moving Maverick to a town where he could grow up away from all the glitz of Hollywood yet I really felt like he was running away from things that had gone wrong. I mean who picks Alaska to move to?
I knew things would blow up at some point for Phoenix as nothing ever goes smoothly for the Bailey clan and I was eagerly waiting! I was actually shocked when everything went down as I thought that Griffin really would have been much more understanding than he was but boy was he ever mad!!
I was extremely happy when things began to get better between the two of them again but I must admit I was pretty worried about their different goals in life and i knew that would definitely throw a wrench in things. I loved when everything went down and how Phoenix really said what she needed to and I totally agreed with everything that she said to Griffin.
The end was awesome and I was so happy for how everything turned out!! I am eager to see what happens in the future with them and how they plan to balance it all out!
The very end was super exciting and I can’t wait to see what’s next with the Bailey clan!!
I really love this book so much
One of the fun things about this series has been the titles. Now this one brings a lot of thoughts to mind. It can come across to begin with as being a fun title. Salacious even. This is a Bailey book and if you’ve read them all we have all come to love the family and the uniqueness.
Phoenix has been front and centre since the first book with Austin and Holly. Back then she was a bratty senior who wanted nothing more than to get out of Lake Starlight and pursue her singing career in LA. We all know that the city of angels has the ability to chew and spit out hundreds of hopefuls every day.
Griffin became one of those side characters I needed to discover how he ticked. The how’s and whys of how he came to be Lake Starlight. His constant battle with the kitchen sink. I had to have answers.
A romance which took a long time to boil over. But when it did, oh boy did it create a mushroom cloud. As is always the way ups and downs happen apace and this couple doesn’t always deal with them in the correct manner. But then in real life who ever really does?
After six books this family have become very dear to me. I feel their pain; I feel their joy. Experiencing the continuing lives of past couples brings the reader much closer to them all. I cannot wait until Kingston gets his story. There are so many unsaid things hiding underneath the calm exterior of this firefighter.
Thank you again, ladies. I cannot wait for the next instalment.
Piper and Rayne have outdone the giggle factor with Confessions of a Naughty Nanny (The Baileys #6). The entire Bailey family have been a joy to follow with each book installment, and getting to discover Phoenix was yet another blast.
From the beginning, Phoenix shared her confessions with us. Oddly, her true goal through this whole thing was to get back to where she needed to be so she could continue to improve her skills and hit the big time.
Griffin Thorne is the successful businessman, single father, and all around good guy that needs a break from the lights, stars, glitter and gold. I would say a move to Alaska would be about as far as you can go to get away from all of that.
The plan was simple, keep it business only. But the end result was anything but that. No matter how hard people try, sometimes nature drives you in a different direction.
Piper Rayne had me pulling for these two from the start. No such thing as a battle not worth fighting when love is involved. These authors put all those pieces on paper, and produced a great story of people learning to recognize what is really important. Nicely done, and worth all the stars I can give.
Y’all….I was so worried about liking Phoenix. She’s always come off as immature and almost ungrateful in the earlier books (although in Denver & Cleo’s she starts showing a different side), but I ended up loving her!! I love that we got to see how she feels as the youngest Bailey, and that she’s way more feeling than she lets everyone know.
I loved how she & Griffin couldn’t stop falling for each other if they tried, and I loved how Maverick brought out Phoenix’s inner mama bear!
This was an amazing addition to the Bailey series! It was impossible to put down.
PS- That epilogue almost killed me! I don’t want to wait until June to see what happens!!
This is the 6th book in this amazing series and is Phoenix, who is the youngest of the Baileys, and Griffin’s story. Griffin is a grumpy music producer who has just moved into town with his 8-year-old son, and he hires Phoenix as his nanny. This is a beautifully written story which is humorous and entertaining throughout. I adore this family and all the shenanigans that go on. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner and cannot wait to read Juno’s story next!
5/5 stars
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is Book #6 in the Baileys Series. This book is about the youngest Bailey, Phoenix and Music Producer Griffin Thorne.
Phoenix is officially my favorite of the Baileys! She may be the youngest but she is fierce and passionate and has a humongous heart! I adored this story SO much. Piper Rayne really know how to write all that I love in a romance. Humor, heat and heartfelt emotion. It is the perfect combination.
Phoenix is back home after spending 2 years in L.A. to try to get her music career going. Once she hears Griffin is living in Lake Starlight she sets her sights on him and is determined to get him to notice her singing and applies for the job as his 8 year old son, Maverick’s nanny. But little does she know he has just left the industry and is settling into Lake Starlight for a new start with his son.
I loved Griffin’s son Maverick and the connection Phoenix made with him right from the beginning. He was angry and grumpy at first having to leave his former life in L.A. But once he settles in to Lake Starlight he quickly opens up and I loved that. And the way Phoenix protects him and goes to bat for him at school I just loved too.
Griffin is such a selfless man. He makes some big sacrifices for the ones he loves and also has a huge heart.
Their was a touch of drama in this story but nothing overly dramatic and of course G’ma Dori was back at it with her meddling ways but the humor she brings to these books and this family is everything!
I love Griffin and Pheonix’s connection. It is a super sweet slow burn with the right about of passion and their connection was immediate but not rushed.
The epilogue was the sweetest and filled me up with so much happiness and even brought a happy tear to my eye.
Juno is next and I absolutely loved that tiny little cliffhanger at the end. CANNOT WAIT!
Note: I received an ARC from the author in exchange of a honest review.
Can you believe we are on book six with The Baileys already! Time flies when you are having fun with this family. I always knew that Phoenix was always struggling to find her place. No matter what it took, she was destined to be famous for singing. Then Griffin came in, and even though it was expected, Phoenix was not prepared for the storm that was to come.
Griffin and Maverick come to Alaska to start a new life. Maverick is not too thrilled, but what eight year old loves to leave his life and friends behind. Phoenix snags the job as a nanny….all well the rest is history!!
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny had my stomach in knots. I mean our heroine is a fireball and speaks her peace. She never holds back. Griffin is ready to settle in the quiet life. But as soon as Phoenix breezed into his life, he was on the ride of his life. Grandma D is still spunky as ever with her sidekick Ethel. I love the Bailey brothers and their better halves. The sisters love fierce. But when they all get together, I cannot help but laugh and have a good ol’ time. This series has been my favorite. Next is a Novella that will have me tickled with pink…or blue. I am excited to see what will happen next with the big cliffy we were left with Juno!! I love the Baileys <3
Oh I have missed this family! its like coming home reading one of their books.
This book features the youngest Bailey, Phoenix and I honestly think she is my favourite. Shes so feisty and has a huge heart of gold.
She is back home after spending time in LA trying to get her music career going. In an attempt to get her singing noticed she applies to be Griffin’s nanny for his 8 year old son, Maverick, not knowing he has left the industry and just wants to have a new start with his son.
I will be honest Maverick stole my heart, the little cutie. He is grumpy and angry about leaving LA but I loved the bond he formed with Phoenix straight away. She becomes instantly protective over him.
This was a great addition to this series, a slow-burn that just made my insides all gooey.
I am excited for the next book, Juno’s after that tiny little cliffhanger! you teases
5 Getting So Much More than a Nanny Stars!!!
I was so excited when this book landed on my kindle. I mean we’re getting Phoenix’s story and I just knew it was going to be a great read. There’s always been something about Phoenix that made a little piece of my heart hurt and with this book, we get to know what really drives her. At times, it’s her own ambition and others it’s trying to prove her family wrong!
If you’ve been reading this series, you know Phoenix is the youngest Bailey along with her identical twin Sedona. And this book is all about Phoenix thinking she’s going to be discovered because famed music producer Griffin Thorne is moving to Lake Starlight and she’s determined to meet him.
Things don’t go exactly as planned and I found myself laughing out loud several times while reading this book thanks to Phoenix pretty much saying what she thinks with no filter. This is both good and bad as I’m sure you can guess…but it also pays off when it comes to Maverick, Griffin’s eight-year old son who Phoenix is nannying for. There’s a sense of comradery between them that Griffin hasn’t seen his son experience before which just reinforces why he moved to Lake Starlight.
What also can’t be denied is the chemistry between Phoenix and Griffin. Given the age difference between them, they definitely needed it to be a slow burn up to when they finally gave in to their desires. The other thing that is patently obvious is Phoenix’s ability to sing. And this brings a new energy to Griffin he thought he’d lost. Watching them develop her talent and her getting opportunities that wouldn’t be available without Griffin, resulted in Phoenix learning what she really wanted isn’t just about being a famous singer!!
And I’m here to reassure you the Bailey family is in full force throughout this book and Grandma Dori has some of the best lines! With every book I fall more and more in love with the Baileys and their entire extended family! And the ending is so romantic and swoonworthy!

Since meeting Phoenix in the first book I thought hers was going to be a special story and I’m happy to say I wasn’t mistaken. The rebel child of the Bailey clan falls faster, harder and twice as much in love as the rest of her siblings to date.
Phoenix has always dreamt of stardom, being a famous singer and while she went to LA and gave it a try, she didn’t have any connections to give her a leg up. As her brother Denver refuses to introduce her to his friend, music producer Griffin Thorne, she decides to takes matters into her own hands when he moves into town.
I’m not going to give any further details to avoid spoiling it for everyone else, but Lord do we see a whole other side of Phoenix since the moment she meets Griffin!
I had a hard time putting this one down for even the shortest break. I was taken by the characters and really enjoyed the way they came together in both their professional and romantic relationships. Griffin is a whole decade older and with a complete different mindset while Phoenix is way too jaded for Lake Starlight, but has the right amount of sass for the single dad and his son, with whom she identifies famously.
COANN is in a nutshell a lovely story that will make you fall in love with the Bailey brat (if you hadn’t already) and her loving men.
4.5 stars
Phoenix will fall before she rise and it’s one heck of a story. Nothing comes easy, Griffin has been burned and he’s now finding his way in Lake Starlight with his son. It’s never to late to restart your life, to find the real you. The Bailey’s support their own but what I love most about them is the support for the outsiders as well. I love the bond between Maverick and Phoenix.
I love seeing the Bailey’s together throughout the book. I got teary eyed. I am so happy for this family. Piper and Rayne include real life scenarios and I love that they’re not afraid to do so.
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is the sixth title in the Bailey series featuring Phoenix and Griffin.
Phoenix Bailey is the youngest and least successful of the Bailey siblings. She’s free spirited, passionate and strong, but also kind, caring and compassionate. She’s determined and driven to succeed, but also incredibly vulnerable when it comes to her own worth and value as an individual and musician.
Griffin is determined to leave his old life behind him and reconnect with the person he was prior to becoming a workaholic music producer. He’s a loving single father to Maverick and wants the best for his son.
Maverick is like a fish out of water. After growing up surrounded by the glitz and glamor of L.A., Lake Starlight is quite the change. I loved his interactions with Phoenix and having two young boys of my own I could totally relate to his personality and taciturn attitude.
Griffin and Phoenix’s story is a sexy, emotional, slow-burn romance with a touch of humor. The banter they share is witty, fun and full of humor.
There are quite a few reveals throughout this title and I’m eager for the next installment of The Baileys.
Once again Piper and Rayne are treating us to the magic that is Lake Starlight Alaska. As a huge, huge fan of all things Bailey, I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of their latest book.
“Confessions of a Naughty Nanny” is Phoenix’s story. In the chaotic world of the Bailey family, she is the odd man out. Very different from her other siblings, she’s often times misunderstood. Her dreams of making it big dashed when she fails epically and returns home with her tail between her legs.
For his part, Griffen Thorne relocates to Lake Starlight after leaving the music industry behind. Needing a nanny for his son Maverick, he hires Phoenix. Cue the crazy as their relationship takes off like fireworks in the sky.
Do they or don’t they? Should they or shouldn’t they? Will they or won’t they. These are the questions that kept running through my head as I read. Suffice it to say, they do get their delicious happily ever and yet another Bailey and the love of their life settle down.
TBR this great book and check out the rest of the series if you haven’t already.
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is the sixth book in The Baileys series and features one of the youngest Baileys, Phoenix.
Phoenix is a dreamer, she is determined, passionate and full of sass. Despite being young I absolutely loved her. She tried to make it in LA, but is back in Lake Starlight but things may be looking up when she finds out music producer Griffin Thorne is moving to her little town. She just needs to get him to hear her sing. Griffin is tired of the LA life, he is tired of his career and wants a change. He packs up everything and moves with his eight year old son, Maverick, to Lake Starlight. He needs a nanny to help out and after running into Phoenix she may be the perfect solution.
I loved the connection that Phoenix formed with Maverick. She made him feel comfortable and got him to come out of his shell. They truly formed a beautiful bond in the short amount of time the spent together. Griffin and Phoenix also had a ton of chemistry. They tried to fight it, they knew it wouldn’t be right, but you can only fight it for so long.
I was rooting for Phoenix throughout the entire story. The girl deserves to be in the spotlight! Griffin was able to help, however, it meant putting himself on the line again. There was a little drama, however, Grandma Dori wasn’t going to let things go on for too long before she started knocking some sense into people.
The ending was PERFECT for the entire Bailey family, however, that little cliffhanger has me cursing Piper Rayne! Definitely a MUST READ for any Bailey Family fans!
You know when they say they save the best for last??? Well this is so true for Phoenix’s book! Goodness me!
The youngest sibling in the Bailey family is definitely something else!!
Talk about sizzling tension up the wazoo??!! But Phoenix is vulnerable and so unsure of herself, it makes me love her so much more! What woman doesn’t feel like that in some way at some point in her life?
Can Griffin help Phoenix soar??
This book had everything you could want to make a great story and it made me want to find this town and live there!
The support the Bailey family give each other and those close to them is nothing short of extraordinary and Grandma Dori being the matriarch has her part too!
So flipping amazing, I laughed, shed a few tears and loved everything about this book! So very excited for more of this series and what else is in store from this amazing duo of authors! Each book just gets better and better! Great work ladies!!!
I just love the Baileys! This is the best series and each book keeps getting better.
I confess that Phoenix was a difficult character to know, but reading the book you can she that it is part of her personality and it is great to know her better this time.
Griffin is a great, mature and jadded character and his focus in solely on his son (adorable!) and we undersand why he does it. But Phoenix is the perfect fit for them and they path to a happy ending is filled with good stories, sexy times and wity remarks.
The wonderful thing about the Baileys is that they are characters with souls, we can understand their sorrows and doubts. I don’t want to give any spoiler but the epilogue was so heartful that you will not stop crying with happiness.
You will love them and please read the other books because they are so worth it!A just love the Baileys! This is the best series and each book keeps getting better.
