Everyone treats Phoenix like the baby of the family. Well, she is, but she’s twenty-two now, so she’d appreciate it if her family stopped acting like she’s a thirteen-year-old who needs a curfew. Wanting to escape her family house, she takes a nanny job never realizing how appealing a single dad could be, until Griffin answers the door.
I adored this book! I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
First, I want to say that single parent/nanny romances are one of my absolute favorite tropes, so I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book. Also I enjoy a good age gap romance, and these two characters had about 11 years between them. Once again, we saw quite a bit of the Baileys, but not too much. I think that was mostly due to Phoenix being on the outskirts of her family, especially with her twin across the country.
While Griffin doesn’t completely sound like my type physically (I’m not into long hair for guys), I swooned over him. We didn’t see his past life much, but I loved how he decided to move to give his son Maverick a better life. I would have preferred seeing them bond a little more, but regardless, I loved the relationship Phoenix developed with Maverick while she was his nanny.
Phoenix was someone I wasn’t sure I would like going into this book initially. She seemed like a brat in previous books, but that was just the way her family saw her, as the black sheep. When she found her place in life (with Griffin and Maverick), she flourished. We got to see inside her head and heart, and I absolutely loved her character. She was like me in some aspects (baby of the family, loved to sing, etc.), but her being an extrovert, and wanting to be a star were major differences between us. Overall, I highly recommend this book, and series. I will be impatiently waiting for the final 3 books (and novella) to come out, especially after that cliffhanger of an ending. I need my next fix of this family ASAP!
Piper Rayne has done it AGAIN!! I always wonder how they can beat their last book but somehow they always do. The Bailey’s are one of my favorite families.
Phoenix is one of the youngest Bailey siblings and one of the twin girls. After going to LA to try to start a music career, she’s back in Lake Starlight to regroup and figure out what to do to get back to LA and be a musical success.
Griffin Thorne is a former music producer who has left LA behind to focus on his son Maverick. Griffin is a friend of another one of the Bailey’s, Denver, and decides that Lake Starlight sounds like a great place to start over with Maverick. Griffin is looking for a nanny for Maverick and Phoenix has been trying to get Denver to introduce her to Griffin but he never would.
Griffin and Phoenix meet accidentally and Griffin assumes Phoenix is a nanny while she’s babysitting Rome & Harley’s kids. This leads to Phoenix becoming Maverick’s nanny. I love the interaction and connection between Maverick and Phoenix. She literally is the perfect nanny for him because she semi gets what he’s going through and I just love their interaction. Their scene in the bonus epilogue was the SWEETEST!!!
The more Griffin and Phoenix are around each other, the more sparks fly and they finally decide to kiss and see if they want to see what happens. Not to give anything away but it leads to a great story.
I absolutely loved this story and I love Phoenix. It’s always so great to catch up with all of the Bailey’s and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I received an arc of this and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Once again Piper Rayne impressed me with Confessions of a Naughty Nanny.
I didn’t really think I was going to like Phoenix as much as I did. Over the course of this series she’s shown a few glimpses of promise. But mostly she’s been all attitude. This book however shows a whole new side and a lot more depth to her. I loved seeing her with Griffin’s son Maverick.
And the chemistry with her and Griffin was electric. They fought it but they were such a good match.
I thought the whole older guy/younger girl aspect was well done here and overall it was just a really good story.
That cliffhanger regarding what was supposed to be an obvious couple has me very excited too. I can’t wait for the next book.
I’ve said it a million times: I can’t get enough of this family! And the fact that you continue to get glimpses into the lives of all of them as each story happens is the cherry on top of the sundae!
Griffin Thorne…we’ve heard his name mentioned quite a bit over the past few books. He’s definitely been on my radar and I am NOT disappointed. This guy is amazing! He’s a smart, successful single father with a giving heart and the exact opposite personality you’d expect to find in a music mogul from Los Angeles. This man is charming, sweet, definitely goofy with a great sense of humor, and a real ‘everyday’ guy. He’s amazing.
Phoenix is one of my favorites. She marches to the beat of her own drum, and doesn’t really fit into the Bailey family mold. It should be difficult to stand out in a family of nine, but she has no trouble accomplishing that feat. She’s headstrong, unfiltered, witty, and fun. She’s also strong and passionate, but she struggles with her confidence as of late. A few setbacks have taken their toll on her, but one thing she never lacks is determination.
This is a romance I don’t think either one of them saw coming. But the slow-burning chemistry and attraction is there from the start, and watching these two grow and learn about each other is certainly entertaining. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Lake Starlight without Grandma Dori and the rest of the Bailey brood. Only a few more of these siblings to go! I’m going to be bummed when this series ends, but I can’t wait to get more!
Absolutely loved the newest instalment in the Bailey sibling saga…..yet again Piper Rayne has exceeded my expectations.
Phoenix’s story was definitely the most surprising one so far and I absolutely loved it
Well done ladies
How can they get better each time? Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Talk about a story to pull out all of your emotions. I felt sadness, longing, and so much love and hope. This family is definitely my favorite fictional family to date. Phoenix’s story is going to just blow you away. Griffin is way to sexy for her own good.
That ending WOW! I need the next book right now!
5 Stars in Her Eyes Stars!
Sometimes when a series has a lot of books it’s hard to keep up the momentum. As the book count gets higher, the quality gets lower, nothing being able to beat that first book. But somehow Piper Rayne has the secret to avoiding this because each Bailey series book just gets better and better.
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is Phoenix’s book, and from the glimpses of her in earlier books, I was expecting a rom-com with lots of shenanigans. The baby of the family, she’s been made out to be a bit spoiled and always scheming to get what she wants. But she’s so much more and this book was nothing like what I was expecting.
“Sometimes you have no idea what your future holds, but it’s the people around you who’ll get you through it.”
The Baileys series is centered around family and that is the biggest theme in this book. Griffin is a single-dad moving across the country and trying to reconnect with his son. Phoenix is lost, trying to find her place in the world and ultimately succeed as a singer. He needs a nanny, she needs an “in” in the music industry. And together they find what neither of them realizes they both need.
This is such a fun and sweet story. It’s love and family and discovering where you truly belong. In true Baily fashion, there’s plenty of laughter and smiles, and I couldn’t put it down!
I seriously didn’t think these frikkin Baileys would entertain me let alone get my mind engaged and wanting more this far into them but here we are …. I’m in love with them. All of them.
These ladies are ridiculously talented. WHO IS NOT READING PIPER RAYNE????
Okay, so let me tell you about this story. It’s fun from page one. I mean like good time fun. Like I want to be in their lives kinda fun. I know we say we wish books didn’t end and we just want more of a couple all the time, but Phoenix was #mypeople. I really want to be friends with her LOL SO just read the book. Read any Piper Rayne book. They are all so damn entertaining that I can’t get enough!
My new favorite!
When you think it can’t get any better Piper Rayne write a book that makes you kind of speechless.
The first time I heard, that Phoenix was book six in the Baileys Series I was a bit surprised, because she is one of the youngest in the bunch and also in all of the previous books she was kind of a troublemaker who seemed to be annoyed by everyone and everything. So I was more than curious about her story.
And after the first few pages I was hooked. Phoenix character was so much deeper and I could finally understand her behaviour from before.
And Griffin.. oh my, can I please have my own music producer/ hot single dad? Thanks.
The chemistry between these two was so deep. I had all the feels while reading this one. Butterflies in my stomach while hoping they would finally do what they secretly wanted. I also cried like a baby near the end because this book just takes you through all the feels!
Also this book ends with a big bad cliffhanger, so be prepared for a hell of a ride with this book. You will so not regret it!
The Bailey’s are ones you want to keep reading! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Piper Rayne does it again with the Bailey family and having all the emotions! Phoenix’s story is one you won’t put down. Griffin is just a man you want to get your hands on. These two make you want to pull you hair out at parts on how they deal with their relationship but you will not be disappointed in the end!
Phoenix has always thought of herself as the Bailey who can’t do anything right. The one thing she feels she can do is to sing but after venturing down that path of rejection, she’s back in Lake Starlight. When Phoenix finds out her brother’s friend Griffin, a music producer, is moving into town, she’s bound and determined to get her shot with him. Griffin and Phoenix both get more than they bargained for in this hilarious, emotional and steamy romance!
With every Bailey family book, I fall even more in love with this series! I have to say though, I was a little unsure of Phoenix and her story going into this book, but I really enjoyed it! Phoenix and Griffin (and Maverick) really intrigued me as a couple and their story was one of fun, heartbreak, and healing. Bring on more Lake Starlight!
Phoenix was born to sing but everyone doubted her and that doubt made her doubt herself.
Her brother is friends with a record artist who makes singers stars and win Grammys. All she wanted was for him to hear her demo.
Well Griffin moved from LA to Lake Starlight with his son Maverick
He was out the record deal and needed a nanny. Phoenix got that job but more came about.
The chemistry was off the charts between them.
I loved how the Bailey’s took Maverick in and everyone kept calling him Mav.
Can two people with different dreams be a couple?
Can Phoenix be a singer and be in love all at once?
“You just never know what life has in store for you.”
Y’all I devoured this book! It is the Baileys after all so that is easy to do. Confessions from the Naughty Nanny is Phoenix’s story. The youngest Bailey, the misfit, the black sheep and just like the others she’s so easy to love.
When record producer Griffin moves to Star Landing, Phoenix will do anything to meet him, even scoring a job as his new Nanny.
I loved this easy to read, funny and heart warming book. The Bailey’s are like family to me and with each book I fall more in love with these characters. I just can’t seem to get enough. You definitely need to check this wonderful book out as well as the others in the series.

You guys I am madly in love with the Baileys. This is such a wonderful series. Each new book is unique but also beautifully connects to the others. You don’t have to read all to understand one. Having said that, my next response is you NEED to read them ALL. Wink!
This is Phoenix’s story. She is one half of the youngest twin girls in this orphaned sibling group of nine. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl. She is no wilting flower and she certainly can hold her own against her older siblings. Her feistiness and candor kept me either laughing or peaking through my fingers. Haha. She makes this story SO ENTERTAINING with her quick wit and strong back bone. GO GIRL!
Phoenix’s aspiration is to be a singer. When she finds out a producer whom her brother rescued is coming to town, well lets say some stalking might be in the works.
Enter Griffin with his son Maverick (aka Mav). My funny bone is tickled thinking about the response to his shortened name. Griffin moves to Alaska so he can create a new life for himself and his son. After some manipulation, unbeknownst to him, he hired Phoenix to be his nanny. OMG then things get interesting. I love the way Phoenix cares for Mav. Her connection and understanding of this kid is well done. Ugh my heart feels a little squishy thinking about it.
I am not going to rehash the entire story but it kept me thoroughly engaged and I loved all the mayhem that happened with all the Baileys’. I typically love the older man/younger woman storyline and this one is deliciously perfect under that troupe. Plan for some extreme heat between our two main characters. Yikes fanning myself thinking about it. Yep this is an awesome five star book.
Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
Piper Rayne has become my go to author when I’m in a book funk, this story was simply perfection, I fell in love with the characters right away, I couldn’t put it down.
Phoenix is officially my new favorite Bailey!
We’ve seen her in past books as the spoiled rotten girl who hasn’t found he way. She still has some of those same qualities, but she uses them as a cover. She is actually an insecure girl just trying to fight for her dream. She has grit, determination, and and inner strength that you will come to love in this book. At some points you will want to yell at the other Baileys for treating her like the baby, but as always, Grandma Dori is there to save the day!
Griffin was such a back and forth character who was indecisive about his intensions which is understandable. There’s the age gap, a kid, and the Baileys in general are intimidating. One thing that stayed constant was his love for his kid and him wanting what was best for Phoenix.
This was definitely my favorite Bailey book so far. The journey was amazing. You get to see love, following a dream at all costs, selflessness all around, and a general understanding that you can’t make people do things that they don’t already want to do.
It’s always so much fun getting to catch up with this family and see where everyone is at in their lives. So many secrets are revealed in this book about the family and the cliffhanger for the next book will leave you’re jaw hanging open. And now we wait…

4.5 Stars
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is the sixth book in The Baileys series. This was my first read by Piper Rayne and I’m kicking myself for not starting with the first book in this series. They are all standalones so they can be read out of order, but I would’ve liked to get the full feel of the Bailey family from the start. The good part though, is now I can go back and read all the previous books, so that’s a plus.
Phoenix is the youngest Bailey. Her dream is to become a singer and she’ll stop at nothing to finally get her big break. But she’s also insecure and wonders maybe she’s not a good singer as she thinks she is since nothing came to be when she lived in L.A. for two years. She’s fierce, passionate and has a huge heart. She has grit and so much determination to make her dream happen. I adored Phoenix so much, she was such an enjoyable character.
Griffin has left the life he had in L.A. and moved to Lake Starlight with his son, Maverick to start a new life. He’s looking for a nanny for his son and when he hires Phoenix he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. Little does he know she’s going to flip his world.
Griffin and Phoenix have an immediate connection. It’s a sweet slow burn filled with passion. They were exactly what the other needed. And I can’t say how much I loved the connection Phoenix and Maverick made and how she protected him and was there to listen to anything he wanted to confide in her. I adored all three of these characters.
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny was a very enjoyable read. It had me laughing, swooning and sighing. It had little drama, but it wasn’t dramatic. I loved these characters and the wholesome feeling of family. I can’t wait to read about the other family members in their previous books and I especially can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is the sixth book in the Bailey Siblings series. They are stand alones, but you’ll get a better feel for the family and their dynamics if you read them in order.
This is Phoenix’s story. She’s the youngest of them all. We’ve seen her grow up from the 17 year old high school girl. She’s now twenty-two. She’s back in Lake Starlight after trying out LA and chasing her dream for two years. But she couldn’t get it off the ground. She needs connections. Connections that her brother Denver has. She’ll do just about anything to make it happen too. Including becoming a nanny, with no experience. Of course Grandma Dori helps.
Griffin is that connection. He may be out of the game, but he knows people.
I love how this story played out. I am a little bummed that there was no Buzz Wheel in this book though.
I can’t wait for the next. My heart hurts for Juno.
This was really good! Phoenix is now a grown adult that can vote and drink but her family still feels they need to weigh in on her every move. Can they objectively see her as an independent person making the right decisions all by herself?
I really enjoyed this story but it flew by. I can’t wait for more of the Bailey’s! This can actually be read as a standalone book but is best when you start from the first book, Lessons From a One Night Stand, and read the progression of the family’s story. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
