Everyone treats Phoenix like the baby of the family. Well, she is, but she’s twenty-two now, so she’d appreciate it if her family stopped acting like she’s a thirteen-year-old who needs a curfew. Wanting to escape her family house, she takes a nanny job never realizing how appealing a single dad could be, until Griffin answers the door.
This is the first book in this series I have read. It was easy read and not feel lost since they are all standalones that are connected. I will be going back and reading all about the other siblings and their stories. This family really captured my heart.
Phoenix ix the baby of the family and it seems was mainly raised by the other older siblings along with her twin sister Sedona. Phoenix has always had big dreams and has tried to pursue them but with no luck, so she is back in Lake Starlight and trying to find her footing. She is happy to be with her family but living in Lake Starlight with all its memories was not she wanted her life to be. She concocts a plan that is aided by her grandmother and a few friends. Unfortunately, that plan doesn’t turn out the way she hoped.
Phoenix is brave, somewhat naïve, sweet, adventurous and a little bit reckless. She doesn’t show her emotions. She has shut them down and refuses to show people, even her closest family, how she feels being back in town. She won’t let anyone see how damaged she really is inside, until a certain man and his son walk into her life.
Griffin is hiding from a disappoint and high expectations in his life. He is running away from something that he doesn’t even realize. He has decided to move him and his son from Los Angeles to Alaska to start over. He is dealing with a lot and finding a nanny to help is turning out to be so easy in Lake Starlight, thank goodness is happens across his friend’s sister and she takes the job. Little did he know that would change him and Maverick’s lives forever.
This was a cute book with some great characters. I can’t wait to read all the other siblings’ books.
The Baileys! A close-knit wild family that ya just gotta love!
She wants to prove herself and he wants to just getaway.
Phoenix is the youngest of the Bailey’s but she’s also the one that has always been babied. To the point of her family thinks she has no direction.
Griffin has lost his desire. He just wants to hide out in Alaska, raise his son and leave the big bad world of LA behind.
The combination of these two lost souls brings about humor, sexiness, and fun. Throw a brooding kid in the mix and what you have is the cutest story of finding one’s self, helping one grow and falling in love!
I love the Baileys. They are such a fun family to read about. This one is book 6 is The Baileys series. Each book covers a different sibling so they can be read as standalones. This one is Phoenix’s story. Phoenix is fun loving character. I love Phoenix. She gets herself into trouble but mos of the time she doesn’t mean too. She wants a music career. Griffin is a big time music producer and he’s now in Lake Starlight and he’s looking for a nanny. Being his nanny might just be the chance Phoenix needs to break into the music business. Some of her sibling disprove of what she’s doing. She does rock the nanny job though and thing between her and Griffin from more that boss and nanny. I liked Griffin too. Griffin has a huge heart and does what he thinks in right. These two characters were great together. I was a little nervous for them at some point and I was so rooting for a happy ending.
Another great continuation of the Bailey family. I look forward to every new release within this series.
Phoenix was lost and struggling to find her place. Chasing her dream was not something that she was willing to give up. She may have failed once, but she was still hoping to find a way to be heard. When a top music producer moves into Lake Starlight, it’s the perfect opportunity.
Griffin has just re-located from Los Angeles, to Lake Starlight. He wanted a total change of pace. He gave up his job and wants a new start and a more simple life for his eight year old son. He just needs to find his son a nanny, so that he can concentrate on his own projects.
Phoenix sees her opening and takes it. She may not have any nanny experience, but she is going to get the job. She needs this.
Griffin and Phoenix have chemistry. She’s quite a bit younger, but she’s also a breath of fresh air. Griffin wasn’t looking for a relationship, but when he sees Phoenix win his son over and care for him, his heart opens. The only problem is her dream to become famous. He won’t stand in her way, even if he doesn’t want to let her go.
Catch up with the Bailey’s. They are all living their best lives and building their futures. I cannot wait for Juno and Kingston to get their happily ever afters. I’ll be eagerly awaiting more from the Bailey’s. Phoenix and Griffin were a great addition to the series. I love this family and the way they just accept people as their own. It’s always heart warming and it never fails to bring the sexy too.
More than I expected!
So you might think this story is cliche, but it was so much more. I have to admit that I haven’t read all the Bailey sibling books, so at times – I was a little overwhelmed by all the characters, but Phoenix’s light shone through and Griffin Thorne is just one heck of a man…what a mighty fine man.
This book had heart, sizzle, deception, and some heartbreak. But through it all – the love of family is evident.
If you are a fan of the series – I can’t imagine that you don’t absolutely fall in love with this story. Seeing Phoenix grow back into a confident woman with a loving man & his son by her side – so heartwarming.
It was a quick read and makes me want to start at the beginning!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
I love it when a character surprises me. I’ve been with the Baileys since book 1 and I’ll admit that I was not looking forward to Phoenix’s story. And I’m pretty sure Piper & Rayne intended to write her that way since we essentially know her from when she’s a tween. Even though she was getting older, we couldn’t see much of it in her sibling’s book. At last, Confessions of a Naughty Nanny as arrived and it surprised the heck out of me!
Phoenix has grown so much throughout the series and we don’t really see any of that until her book. I devoured every single moment of this one and it has easily come out as one of my favorites for 2020.
When it comes to Phoenix and her dreams, she’ll stop at nothing to achieve every single one of them. I’ll say that this book made me nervous about what COULD be happening. All of them not boding well for Phoenix at all and painting her as something that I didn’t like. However, that’s where her vulnerabilities came through and we get to see the real side of her. I admired how fierce she was, loyal to a fault and genuinely nice person. I loved her character, true and true.
The slow burn between her and Griffin was everything! Despite their intense connection, they had some complex things to figure out before they could possibly dive into anything.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The Baileys, I love them dearly and absolutely cannot wait for the next sibling’s story!

Piper Rayne
Phoenix Bailey has known since childhood that she was meant to be a star. So when Griffin Thorne, a famous music producer, moves to Lake Starlight, she’s willing to do just about anything to grab his attention . . . including nanny for his 8 year old son.
Griffin Thorne is done with life in the limelight and wants to raise his child with a sense of normalcy rather than the craziness of the music business in LA. After vacationing in the area, he knows that small town life in Lake Starlight is just what he and Maverick need. What he wasn’t counting on was falling for the nanny.
When Griffin hears Phoenix sing as she is prepping for the Founder’s Day parade, he knows she has what it takes to be a star. While he doesn’t want to be back in the business, he knows he can’t walk away without helping her get her shot. But, miscommunications will put everything Phoenix and Griffin have been building in jeopardy when he thinks she’s scammed him and isn’t genuine at all, while all the while she’s been falling for both him and Maverick.
I LOVED this story! I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect from Phoenix, since she is only 22, but immediately fell in love with her character. She and Griffin were really cute together and, even though they tried not too, fell hard and fast! I also really enjoyed watching Phoenix develop her relationship with Griffin’s son, Maverick. She felt very wise and worldy for 22, yet identified with him on a level that was both sweet and heartwarming.
Watching Phoenix and Griffin try to figure out how they can possibly work as a couple if she becomes a rising star in LA and he stays retired from the business in Lake Starlight was heartbreaking at times. It really showed their character depth as they basically had role reversals and had to learn to navigate their new realities and find a way to possibly merge them.
We spend more time with Juno and Kingston, which I was excited for and Grandma Dori was a real pip in this book! She and her friend Ethel simply rocked out a relationship with the young Maverick that was too cute for words.
Along with Griffin and Phoenix figuring out their HEA there are some really wild updates on the rest of the Bailey clan that you will not want to miss. Be sure to download the bonus scene as well because it was totally worth it. 5 stars!
I was so excited to finally get Phoenix’s story. The youngest Bailey and black sheep of the family; she wants to be a singer. After living in LA for two years, she’s back in Lake Starlight a lot less confident and doubting herself. That is until she finds out the famous music producer Griffin Thorne is moving to town. He needs a nanny for his son and she’s determined that he can make her a star. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Griffin’s banter and chemistry. Piper Rayne writes heartwarming stories that grab you from the beginning. I’m loving The Baileys and can’t wait for Juno’s story.
4.5 Stars
I love those Baileys and I can’t wait to devour the book when it comes out. I knew I was going to really enjoy Phoenix’s book, but I didn’t realize how much. I couldn’t put this one down. It might have to do with Griffin being a single dad because single dad romances are my jam. I can’t pass one up. Phoenix really surprised me. Getting to really know her in this book made me fall in love with her. She’s a great character. She experiences what most everyone does self doubt and doesn’t realize how much there is to her then she can imagine. I loved how she works her magic on Maverick and brings that little out of his shell. We get to catch up with the rest of the Bailey clan. I love seeing them enjoying their HEAs. This book has left me wanting what’s coming next for this clan now! This is a must read series. If you haven’t read it yet I highly recommend starting this series!!

————————–
First-timer with a Piper Rayne book and I loved it. There is so much “yes” with this one!
Yes – to wonderful/ story-line
Yes – to well-developed character’s
Yes – to realistic/ fun dialogue
Yes – to steamy (off-the-charts) scenes
Yes – to a great HEA
Piper Rayne has made me a new fan. An admirer of her writing and Phoenix and Griffin’s story. Of which, I couldn’t get enough of.
Here’s why…
Phoenix Bailey comes from a great family dynamic. One that’s close-knit, but has its share of ups and downs like everyone else’s. She’s the youngest of nine and is often looked at as the screwy one. Especially since her secret dream is to move to LA and become a big singer.
Only real life sets in and she’s forced to make grownup decisions. Will she ever make it as a singer?
Insert Griffin Thorne; single father who needs a change. Being in the music business will do that you. Fast-paced, hustle and bustle in the industry is hell on family life. The answer? A nanny for his son Maverick.
By chance they meet and Griffin hires Phoenix to be his son’s nanny. Sparks fly. Passions flare. Soon Phoenix and Maverick can’t escape the feeling they’ve been harboring. They’re both different in many ways: goals, dreams, etc. Will there goals set them apart or bring them together in the end?
Find out for yourself with this exceptional read. Happy Reading!
Phoenix has always considered herself as the can’t do anything Bailey. She can sing but ends up back in town after trying out that path. She applies for a nanny job for her brother’s best friend who just happens to be a music producer named Griffin. Griffin is in need of a nanny for his son, Maverick. He isn’t technically in the business but when he hears Phoenix sing, he asks her to perform a song. The interaction between Griffin, Phoenix and Maverick is heartwarming and fun to read. This has been a great series.
Growth is the word that I took away from this book. From book 1 we have watched Phoenix go from a bratty teenager to someone who has last her way but Griffin might be just the person to give her back her self-confidence. Phoenix and Giffin had their misses but we all know that a good relationship isn’t complete without a few bumps.
Only three more siblings to go and if the last chapter was anything, Piper Rayne had just upped the matchmaker game.
So, first and foremost: this is a series and yes the previous books are needed before this one, it just makes sense as the timeline just flows from one book to the next. It’s Phoenix’s turn!!! Not gonna lie, I was looking forward to hers the most, as she has been the most unsettled Bailey IMO. After taking a chance in L.A. and that not panning out, Phoenix has just been going from job to job, and getting fired from job to job… even the ones she worked for her various family members. When Griffin Thorne, a music producer and her brother’s friend, is in need of a nanny, Phoenix immediately thinks up a plan that she could possibly use Griffin to get her foot in the music world’s door… until she finds out that he has left that world. Now her plan is to just use the money she makes from this job to fund her next venture to L.A. and to try again. So now she just has to get through the summer, but can she ignore the attraction that she has toward her new boss?
Such a good story!! I loved everything about Phoenix’s story; from the single dad aspect, to the spoiled brat of the family, with loads of drama and steamy naughty bits, this gets 5 stars!
As the ever complicated Bailey dynamics continue to unfold, I have to be honest; I wasn’t overly excited to read this particular Bailey’s story. Glimpses at her from other books had me a bit put off. But, had I skipped this book, I would have been incredibly sorry!
Phoenix surprisingly captured my heart with her tenacity and fearlessness. Every step of the way she fought others preconceived notions about her; never letting her fear of failure derail her dreams, while still being vulnerable and fun loving along the way.
Seeing this unlikely duo come together was a treat indeed and one I simply could not get enough of – not to mention all of the other Lake Star Light happenings! I can’t wait for more.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is Book #6 in the Bailey’s series. Like all books in this series, this can be read as a standalone; however, readers will get a lot more out of this one by reading the previous books first. The reason is because when we are first introduced to Phoenix, in Lessons (Book #1), she is a moody 17 year old, with a chip on her shoulder and a grudge against…everyone. Over the course of the series, we see her through the eyes of her siblings. And though the Baileys are some serious family goals, their view of Phoenix, the baby of the family, has often been less than favorable (sometimes justified).
I absolutely loved seeing a new side to Phoenix, especially her vulnerabilities, which is something she allows Griffin to see. I am not sure her family even realizes how vulnerable she is underneath her tough exterior. I did find that I had some trouble relating to Phoenix – and I cannot really put my finger on why that is.
Griffin is…a powerhouse. After an unfavorable review, and feeling like it is time to leave the music world behind, Griffin moves to Lake Starlight with his son. But once he hears Phoenix sing for the first time, she ignites that spark deep within him.
The relationship between Griffin and Phoenix is pretty cliché, but the line between Nanny and “friend” is blurred from the very start, due to Griffin’s friendship with Denver, Phoenix’s brother. There is a natural feeling of rightness between Griffin and Phoenix – even with the 11 year age difference. Now, 11 years isn’t often a big deal – but when the heroine is 22, with little life experience, from small town Alaska, and the hero is a multi-Grammy winning 33 year old divorced music producer and single dad? Well, that seems like an insurmountable chasm. Yet…somehow…these two just fit together.
I definitely enjoyed this one – there is a lot to laugh about, some pull at the heart strings moments, and those elements that are unique to the Bailey clan. Be prepared for a bombshell of an ending. Book #7 cannot get here soon enough!
This is the sixth book in this amazing series and finally we get Phoenix’s story. Neither Phoenix or her story was what I was expecting and I loved it. As a reader I’ve got to see Phoenix grow up and now she’s not only matured but she’s determined to get out of Lake Starlight and make her dreams come true.
Griffin has just moved to Lake Starlight with his son Maverick. His priority is his son and finding someone to keep an eye on him, which leads him to hiring Phoenix. He’s left the hustle and bustle behind and now wants to live a quiet life. He’s no idea how much his new nanny is gonna rock his world.
This is a bit of a slow burn, Griffin and Phoenix have more than a few bumps to deal with along the way and Phoenix has some decisions to make about her future. This book is a fun read, the characters have got some serious chemistry and it was great to finally really get to know who Phoenix is and see how much she’s grown. I can’t wait for more from the Bailey family!
Confessions of a Naughty Nanny is about giving love a second chance! This book will have you falling in love with the Bailey family all over again. If only they really existed, I’d move to Alaska in a heartbeat! I know Piper Rayne loves to mess with my heart, and this was no different. There are moments when I wanted to message them and threaten bodily harm if I didn’t get a happy ending, but I’ve learned to trust the process. As usual, you get all the Bailey clan in this one and it’s always like attending a family reunion! I love the family dynamics and each book just gets better and better. I can’t wait for the next one!
Phoenix and Griffin will capture and melt you heart! I loved this addition the to Bailey family! You find out who the real Phoenix is. I loved how she just nknew how to help Maverick during his tough times. I’m not going to give any spoilers but I will say you need to read this book and every book in the series. They are fantastic! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy.
Phoenix Bailey has finally gotten her day! As an aspiring singer we see that she has struggled in LA and she has come back a little beaten by the difficulty in breaking into stardom. She is trying to find her place among her family and in her world…who is she…what drives her…what does she want…those are all questions that Phoenix has yet to answer. And with all that you see her wit, her sarcasm, her intelligence and brilliance and that little spark of something more that she can’t even name.
Phoenix gave us the wildest ride because she was searching for stardom, but found so much more! And that was the beauty of her evolution, to see her flourish as a nanny when in no way was that going to be her defining quality. She found that she could stand her ground and make
More of herself than she could have ever imagined.
And all of that was done with the help of Maverick and Griffin. Griffin brought out a side of Phoenix that gave me chills in the best possible way because he let her be herself. He gave her the opportunity to grow and to just be, which no one else had let her do. And with that gave her the greatest love of all!
Piper Rayne has endeared us with the Bailey Family! They have given us a family like no other that keeps growing and growing and keeps getting better with each facet of each siblings new piece of the story! The Bailey’s can come over and take over my town any day because I am in for the long haul with them!!
Loved, loved, loved, loved, loved it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series, they are devoured quickly and then I wait patiently for the next. I really don’t have a favorite as I have enjoyed them all but I did enjoy the connection between Phoenix and Griffin from the very beginning.
As with all the other books in this series it is so much better to read them all, in order, so you can fully understand the characters and their dynamics.
