From Abigail Davies comes a laugh out loud, unputdownable, romantic comedy, choked full of hilarious awkward moments. Confession One: I was a klutz.I thought I’d grow out of it, but evidently I didn’t.It’s not fun to look like a fumbling toddler when you’re twenty-six. Confession Two: I had a standing appointment at the local ER.It wasn’t by choice that I knew all the doctors names–it was … wasn’t by choice that I knew all the doctors names–it was necessity.
But that was about to change.
Confession Three: I hated the sun yet I lived in LA where it always shone.
I supposed that was one plus to being sent to New York for the next eight weeks.
That was until I got there.
Arm veins, dimples, and THE sexiest voice known to man were my weakness, and he had every single one of them.
Confession Four: He was my new boss.
I could control myself though, right?
The city of dreams… a klutz’s worst nightmare.
Eight weeks. A klutz. And a drool worthy boss.
What did you get when you crossed a klutz with a GQ model lookalike?
I was about to find out.

FUNNY!!! Abigail Davies had me laughing/crying throughout this entire book. First book I’ve read by her and certainly not the last. This book was dropped in my lap at the perfect time too, I really needed a quick, hilarious read, and it provided.
The characters were so well thought out, Vi, the klutz, was so real, you can just picture everything that happened to that poor girl. Axel, is just the perfect match to her, he overlooks all her klutzy moves. The story line was great too, good vibes throughout the whole book.
Cannot wait to read another of Abilgail’s books!
Omg this book had me laughing so much. Vi is a a proper klutz so when she has to go to work for the bos of the company for 8 weeks what can happen. Her hot boss is beyond hot but from day one Vi has accident after accident. Not only does she have an accident he has to take her to hospital where he has to help with putting on a special brace for her broken collarbone but she had forgottting to put on a bra that day as she was hungover. The confession at the start of each chapter are so funny I feel like i could relate with Vi as I’ve had a few lol. This is a must read book that I didn’t put down from when I started page one until the end. Highly recommended book.
I haven’t laughed while cringing in embarrassment for a character in a long time…then I read this book. First, Violet may be my soul sister, because I, too, have a dominant klutz gene lurking in my DNA. Second, her mishaps are hilarious and Axel’s simple acceptance of her Calamity Jane-esque experiences make for some serious warm and fuzzy feelings.
Violet moves to NY for a temporary position as the assistant to the CEO of her company, Axel Taylor. During their very first meeting, her luck (or lack thereof) is front and center, and not even safety pins can keep her dignity intact. These two manage the art of the slow burn without feeling too slow or drawn out and while maintaining the “what will happen next” suspense. Their relationship blossoms and Violet’s klutziness only helps to solidify Axel’s feelings for her. Once they both get past the misunderstandings (deliberately portrayed as such by a vindictive, petty woman), the promise of their HEA is bright and hopefully ER-visit-free for the foreseeable future. Even if it isn’t, I’m sure there would be some fabulously funny stories behind Violet becoming a frequent flyer with a new Doctor Nick (and yes, I did hear “hi, Doctor Nick!” in my head when he was mentioned; I’m a child of The Simpsons generation, after all).
Overall, this book was fast, fun, and sexy, while still managing to bring emotions into play without seeming forced or just tossed in for sport. I can’t wait to see these two again in Ella’s story!
This is an entertaining story from beginning to end, and the hilarious laugh-out loud moments are never ending. Violet’s shenanigans are hilarious, and even her new boss Axel is amused by her antics. This is a well written flawless story, which had me captivated throughout, and I cannot wait to read more in this amazing series. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all lovers of a great romantic comedy!
It isn’t often that I will re-read a book as fast as I did this one. But when I was told there was new stuff added I just had to take a chance and I am so glad I did. I actually gave the book 5 stars the first time I read it and didn’t think there was any way Awesome Abi could make this any better. I tell you this book needs a warning label that says, “DO NOT DRINK LIQUIDS WHEN READING THIS BOOK!!” I can’t tell you how often I laughed not only at the antics of this walking disaster (she is such a ray of sunshine you can’t help but love her) but at the clips at the beginning of each chapter. Then add Axel. He takes her and her klutziness in stride. Reaches out and keeps her from falling, tripping, walking into things, or just being her. Never misses a beat and doesn’t belittle or make fun of her. They work. Until . . .
It’s a great story and her being a klutz is just the fun part. There of course is some ugly but I don’t think this author can write a book that doesn’t have some kind of drama. But the best part is watching Vi find her thing. Awesome! Awesome and funny as all get out. Yes we need to be exposed to this side of this author more.
Sent from her normal pa job in LA to cover long a staff sickness for 8 weeks, Violet cannot believe her luck when she spots her new temporary boss…Axel Taylor it’s just a shame he’s a grumpy so and so and she is an all time accident prone klutz!!
Broken bones, boobs and fluffy socks… nothing is safe when Violet is around… least of all herself!!
First read by this author… a true rom com if ever I read one… there were a few moments when I howled both in laughter and pain at poor Violet’s antic!!
Keep an eye peeled for the white board scene!!
I truly loved the scenarios between Violet and Axel and found myself reading this book well into the early hours because it was just too hard to stop!
My only slight grumble was the abruptness of the ending…. I love an epilogue…and would have really enjoyed just a bit more…BUT from what I have gathered this is going to be followed by a second book!! HUZZAH BRING IT ON!!
This book is one hilarious read and I’m really not sure why this author hasn’t crossed my radar before now because Abigail Davies is a very talented rom com author and I need more from her.
Vi is someone most of us can relate to as at some point in our life’s we have all been that klutz, she is witty, eccentric and kinda strange ( in the nicest way) and she has been shipped off to the NYC office where she causes mayhem for her new boss Axel………
This book is jam packed with laugh out loud or should I say snort out loud spit you tea out moments (take my warning seriously do not eat or drink whilst reading this hilarious book). I loved the characters who are so different but so perfect together and I loved the storyline, I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the last line. I can’t wait for more in the Confessions Series and more from Abigail Davies.
What a great book. It was an easy read the words just flowed. It was entertaining and made me laugh out lot. Great way to spend an afternoon.
4.5 Cranky Stars
I thought for certain I would be distracted by the number of times she fell and ran into walls but actually I found myself laughing more. This girl had a sense of humor on her and two left feet to boot. I mean she epically crashed on that dance floor. Move over Elaine there is a new spastic dancer in town.
Violet never grew out the klutz stage sadly. As a grown adult she has had more ER visits than a boxer I’m assuming. She is sent to New York to assist the head of the company there as his PA. She wasn’t expecting the overly sexy very serious Mr. Taylor to distract her and make matters worse. When she has the epic dance floor crash he comes to her aid and let’s just say it’s from there sparks fly. He becomes kind of a knight in shining armor to her accident prone princess.
Axel Taylor never expected the girl who ripped her skirt on day one and a mouth with no filter be someone he needs in his life. He is appalled at how much one person can be so brash and clumsy. She teaches him a lot about himself including that sometimes you fall for the least likely person you expect. He really doesn’t have time for emotional entanglements, but he will go to any length to protect Violet from herself.
I laughed so hard at one scene in fact I’m still laughing. The money in my coin purse and let’s not forget the disco stick!!! I adored Violet I truly did. I could kind of relate to her. The randomness that runs through my head and tripping over air except I’ve become an expert at catching myself before doing harm. I hated Della I kind of hope she gets hers one day. Axel won me over slowly. First I kind of didn’t like him much but then the way he repeatedly showed up to catch her won my heart over. I love her best friend and the connections in this book are awesome. This is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read what’s next.
Davis strikes romantic comedy gold with this one.
Confessions of a Klutz is a fun, lighthearted romance that’ll have you diving into your reading device as you witness a klutz on your journey to success.
Davies wows her readers with Violet. Admittedly a klutz since birth, there is absolutely nothing her doctors haven’t seen her do. From simple trips to broken arms, Violet is a klutz that you will come to know and love without doubt. Davies uproots this klutz and thrusts her into the heart of New York and the heart of temptation with her hot boss, Alex Taylor. I’m not sure if he falls for her because she’s cute or because she keeps him entertained but either way Davis strikes romantic comedy gold with this one.
Although Violet is a complete cluster at times, she still is a relatable, fun, interesting character full of life and all the hardships that come with it. As Violet’s work life implodes, Davies shows us a different side to her character establishing the depth that was needed to really engage the reader. My only thought was that I wished this book was longer! Although this is a short, quick read, Davies hits all the checks in the romance category causing me to be a fan of Confessions of a Klutz.
Confessions of a Klutz by Abigail Davies is Book One in the Confessions Series. This is the story of Axel and Violet ‘Vi’.
Vi is a klutz but she doesn’t let that stop her from doing what she wants. Vi is used to being hurt physically and gets board at most of her jobs. Now working as a assistant for a company she is asked to take a 8 week position at another location to help out during a shortage they have. This leads her to meet Axel the owner of the company and be his assistant. Axel is cold to her at first but she keeps having accidents that he has to help her with and they start to go past their attraction to fulfillment of it. But the job is over soon and when she gets back home she thinks she was betrayed by Axel but can he work to get her back? This was my first book by this author. Ms. Davis’s writing brought me into the story really quickly and I enjoyed it. If there was any to find that put me down some was I wish Axel was more alpha and wouldn’t have let Vi go so easily at first. But overall enjoyed their story and will look for more of this author’s books.
Wow, so usually I stay away from the romantic comedies. But this one is a must read! I laughed so hard, so many times. There are no words, just read it!
I enjoyed this book. Violet is a klutz and she owns it. She is also just a little bit childish and admits that she doesn’t like adulting. Axel is your typical alpha business man. There is enough story to keep you interested and Vi and Axel have chemistry. There are lots of laugh out loud moments and just a few cringe worthy situations.
What a great romcom. Vi and Axel were great. Axel just needs a PA to help…in stumbles Vi. From the start this book had me hooked. This is the first book ive read by this author but will be reading more soon!
