I’ve recently been introduced to Ms. Brower’s books and have truly enjoyed them thus far, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to review this one. And it certainly did not disappoint! Samantha is a wallflower. Her brother scares off any potential suitors and she, quite frankly, is secretly glad for it because she has been in love with Jason for years, but he doesn’t see her in that way. Samantha becomes aware of an opportunity to become his wife and she seizes it.
This is a very well-written and entertaining book that holds the reader’s attention and has you turning the pages, eager to see if two people can find their HEA despite the challenges thrown their way. It has great characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. If you are a lover of Regency romance, you definitely do not want to miss this one!

CONFESSIONS OF A HELLION is the seventh book in the Bluestockings Defying Rogues series.
What a fun race to Gretna Green! The trip to the ‘Scottish Las Vegas’ of bridal chapels allows Jason and Samantha time to get to know each other better. I looked it up; it is 318 miles driving from London to Gretna Green, so it would take several days to get there by carriage.
The road to Gretna Green had bumps, carnivals, and one brother plotting to overtake and stop them. This was a sweet story about overcoming obstacles and misunderstandings to get to where they needed to go. In this case, where they needed to go was the preacher’s house!
This may be the last book in the series, but it is the first that I read, and I was not lost at all. It will stand on its own – beautifully. I loved it and would love to read more from this author.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is a pleasant read. Samantha has always loved Lord Asthey but he is friends with her brother making her off limits. He discovers he must marry in order to inherit and she overhears the conversation and plans to finally get him to notice her. What makes this story better than average is the characters. They are both a little quirky. Her brother has his own epiphany but it was a little shallow.
My real problem with this book is that the story ends at 80% and the rest is excerpts from other books. I did not lower my rating for that, I just need to vent that this makes me angry and wish authors would not do this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short Regency romance with great characters, romance and intrigue. She was a wallflower because her brother scared off all who offered for her and she was abridge would become a spinster. She had loved one of her brother’s friends forever but he was unaware of it. Then she overheard him talking to her brother and told him if he didn’t marry in a fortnight he would lose his inheritance. At the ball that night she told him she would marry him. They eloped to Scotlbut her brother and his wife, one of her best friends, followed. There is intrigue, but of course a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy from Booksprout.

Book seven of the Bluestockings Defying Rogues series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Lady Samantha Cain and Jason Thompson, the Earl of Asthey’s story, there is drama, a overprotective brother, and romance. This is my favorite of this series so far. What a perfect romance. The story was not overly long but was packed with a lot of heartfelt emotions and feelings. The story fulfilled every requirement for a historical romance. I was completely satisfied when the ending came. I could not wish for more. It was perfect. The h/H were amazing. Nothing weak or missish about either one of them. They complemented each other perfectly. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. There were no villains just one overprotective brother of the h. An excellent read. Quick and satisfying. I do recommend it.

At the ball that night she proposes to himc and they run off to Gretna Green. But she quickly learns he wants a marriage in name only, no consummation, no children. What will Samantha do? Jason Thompson, the Earl of Asthey, who never plans to marry, finds out at the reading of his grandfather’s Will that he has 6 months to do so or lose his inheritance! Lady Samantha Cain has almost reached the age to be considered a spinster. Although it was her brother not allowing her suitors, she was glad of his interference since her heart belonged to someone else who unfortunately never considered her for a wife. Perhaps now that his inheritance is at risk, would he consider a marriage of convenience? That would solve both their “problems”. She won’t have to even tell him that he loves him! But will her brother step in again and prevent a marriage?
This is a well-written book that holds the reader’s attention, eager to see if two people can find their HEA despite the “bumps along the road”! Grab your copy and enjoy the likable characters as they look ahead to a diminished future unless they make the right choices. Will they discover that they have loved each other all along?
Samantha gets her story told now! This was such a sweet story of unrequited love and a marriage of convenience that is not at all convenient for either Samantha or Jason! I really liked how there was no big obstacle that had to be overcome or a huge misunderstanding or even a deep, dark secret that had to be revealed. This was simply the romance between Jason, a Lord who did not ever plan to marry due to the example his parents had set for that particular institution and Samantha, a Lady well on her way to spinsterhood because of the overly-protective nature of her brother. It was so nice to also see how Marian and Kaitlyn, two friends of Samantha that had their own stories told in prior books, are doing now that they are married.
This was an excellent feel-good historical romance!!

An enjoyable and sweet whirlwind of a marriage of convenience. Unrequited love on both sides for these good characters. I enjoyed they and their friends’ personalities. It was a short romance and I breezed through it. I’d love to see it expanded someday.

This book was such a surprise. The main character doesn’t get to be the belle of the ball with all of the trimmings. Instead she is in love with a confirmed bachelor. Jason, the Earl of Asthey has always been determined to stay single until his grandfather leaves him no choice but to marry and he only has two weeks to find a bride. Luckily for him Samantha volunteers for the position but they must hurry before her brother puts a stop to it. This book is witty, romantic, dramatic and a definite keeper. You just can’t put it down!

Each story I have read from Dawn gets better and better. I read the last book of this series with Samantha’s brother Gregory last year back in September but I remembered who Sam was and was happy to read her story. This was a good day’s read but I had to split this up for a few days with life getting away from me. You will be pleased to read how a headstrong girl finally got the man she loved and what she always wanted in life..
Small recap of what this story is about, hopefully spoiled free
Samantha is a strong opinionated woman, will speak her mind about everything but she keeps her true feelings for one man deep in her heart and never shared with her close friends. She always wanting to get this man’s attention but he finds ways to evade Sam.
Jason of Asthey never knew love, his father was mean, his mother ‘Despised’ him for looking like his father (he thinks she does but he don’t know the real reason why she’s distancing from him). His friends all found love and marriage but he don’t want marriage because he don’t understand love, so he thinks marriage is something for everyone else. His grandfather has past and for 6 months he’s been dreading to see a lawyer about the estate. He’s in luck he can restore his titles estate with money from his grandfather but at a cost of marriage, he needs a wife and he has less then 2 weeks to get married. He needs to find a woman to marry but it’ll be in name only.
Sam hears thins and starts a plan, one Jason will never know until her brother’s ball.
Can Sam love Jason enough for both of them to be happy in a convenience marriage? Will her over protective brother save her from a loveless man? Will Jason ever understand love comes from the heart and will hold tight to that special someone and nothing else matters??
This is a wonderful story with charm, laughs and drama. what a fun delightful plot. Loved the characters.
