Confession One: I was a self-confessed chatterbox.Words were my best friend. They loved me almost as much as I loved my pajamas and unwashed hair.Confession Two: I hated outside people.I was happiest sitting on my sofa, my favorite show in the background, and my laptop open while I worked.Being my own boss was freaking awesome. So why the heck had I accepted this new teaching job on campus?Going … teaching job on campus?
Going back to the sunny state was the last thing I wanted to do.
It was only meant to be for one day—one talk.
But life had a funny way at throwing you for a loop.
Confession Three: I was the best secret keeper.
It was ironic considering I never stopped talking. But I’d do anything for my best friend.
Until him.
Confession Four: I’d never met anyone like him.
He was different, but not in the way that everyone else viewed him. He made my heart stutter and my breath catch.
But worst of all, he made my words disappear.

Confessions Of A Chatterbox by Abigail Davies is fantastically funny and heart warmingly romantic.
This is my first Abigail Davies read, so I didn’t know what to expect. I just dived in and I absolutely loved it!
Ella is a chatterbox, talking is her thing, she has all the words – until she meets him and her words disappear. JJ plans everything, but meeting Ella wasn’t something he planned.
I loved reading Ella and JJ’s story. Ella sticking up for him at the start, even though he’s stood there wiping up the coffee spill. Reading and learning JJ’s quirks, he’s not the typical alpha male hero that I read. The connection that these two have is lovely to read.
I can’t recommend Confessions Of A Chatterbox enough, it’s got the perfect mix of funny and romance to keep readers reading.
A sexy, moving story about an autistic man who falls in love with the girl that can never stop talking.
JJ was a twenty two year old man living with autism. He goes to college, holds a job and likes his routine. When Ella enters the picture, his life changes.
Ella is back in her hometown of LA for a job as a lecturer at her alma mater. It’s temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent. She’s fun, a little bit nutty, a whole lot obsessively organized and a game changer. She’s been living a life that didn’t really belong to her. Now she’s starting over and may have found where she was always meant to be.
Ella and JJ have a connection. JJ does not usually let people in, but Ella is the exception. The start of their friendship that turns into more is sweet and hot! Ella is left wondering if home is back in NY, or if she has finally found where she belongs.
I am really enjoying this series. The stories are well-written with both levity and emotion. The characters are just incredibly funny, quirky and lovable. I look forward to each new book.
I am conflicted with my thoughts on this book. I can’t seem to wrap my head around how I feel. I am not sure how to put everything into words, but I am going to try.
Overall, this book was good and entertaining. It wasn’t as funny as the first book in this series, but still entertaining. It was sweet. It was a quick, easy read.
Where I am getting conflicted is JJ. I enjoyed the introduction of him in the previous book. However, I don’t remember the author giving his age in the first one. I actually thought he was in high school, not a twenty-two year old college student. So, that alone threw me off.
The main thing is the relationship with JJ and Ella. Now, I am not saying that it can’t happen, because it can. However, the way JJ is written, I find it very unrealistic that a twenty-six year old woman would fall in love with him. His disability gives him more of a child mentality, even though he has a couple of areas where he is more adult. For some reason, I was really bothered by it and found it unrealistic.
I will admit, there were parts of JJ’s personality that complimented Ella’s personality. I am just not a firm believer that those few things can equal love, considering the child part of his personality. Others who have read it have seemed to love it all. So, maybe it’s just me?
I can also admit that finding love in the most unlikely places and people is possible. With that being said, I can say that this is a really cute, often entertaining, romance.
Omg. Book 2 in this series is just amazing. Abigial Davies knows how to get you laughing. And I mean laugh out loud laughing.
JJ has to be one of my most favourite characters ever. His honesty is so endearing.
Ella is just as funny as Vi, her cousin and the main character in Confessions of a Klutz.
I love the chemistry between El and JJ and how she pushed him past his boundaries.
I can’t wait for another book in the series to come along.
Second in the confessions series…
This is Ella’s story… she is Violet’s, the klutz from book 1 chatterbox blue haired cousin. I wouldn’t say this is a standalone because youd need to know and have met Jeremy and Jj from Book 1.
After moving from LA to new York after college, Ella is asked back by her old college to do a presentation on her business… Ella is a graphic designer, and has made herself an enjoyable and profitable business working for home. After being asked back to the college in a teaching capacity Ella has many decisions to make… firstly her cousin has just moved to NY, secondly her gay boyfriend relies on her to be his ‘cover’ and thirdly her gay boyfriends mom has Alzheimer’s and relies on Ella’s support… but Ella wants more… deciding to put herself first for a change she returns to LA for a semester of teaching to ‘see how things go’. It’s fate that she meets JJ and also fate that JJ and his dad are friends with her cousin Violet… but is it fate when she starts to fall for Jj?
this book was slow to start but I think that gave the reader a much better idea of who Ella was as a person. She was more than just a chatterbox. She was big hearted and caring and a generally likeable character. Her relationship with Jj was beautiful and original and wonderfully crafted and I loved seeing their relationship develop.
I loved that the author wrote a romance staring an autistic lead. I love that their story was realistic and beautiful and I love that the author wrote from experience and from the heart
As someone who has experience of ASD personally it was wonderful to see the matter broached with such care and respect and understanding. I’m a proud momma bear who loves someone special, who happens to be autistic..and it takes knowing ( that ASD ) is such a small, teeny, tiny minuscule part of what makes that person so special to me…so a big big sloppy book pimping snog for a wonderful and original new read and a pretty outstanding author for writing this book.
My only grumble is a teeny tiny one… I needed an epilogue! I want to know more… guess I’m gonna have to wait ( not so patiently ) for Book 3
I absolutely loved everything about this book. This book is funny, sad and it also tells of the problems that arise and that are dealt with with Autism and I love how she has wrote this into a story that they can find love etc like everyone else even though they have this stigma hanging over their heads because what is the norm for them really isn’t the norm for everyone else. I love JJ and Ella and how something just clicked with them straight away they bring the best out of each other and she soon learns his quirks etc and they soon fine they truly are as one. Everything about JJ is real, pure and honest just the way Autistic people are. The author had out done herself with this portrayal. JJ has a real special place in my heart . This story made me laugh, swoon and i felt like i was smiling all the way through.
Book two chatterbox story was amazing being Violets cousin you just know she must be a klutz but of the mouth. Ella story with all her secrets she keeps for her best friend and meant to be boyfriend when she meets JJ her world is turned upside down. El has never had feelings like this and should she as she might get in trouble from the college his dad or Vi. So keeping it a secret is what she does the best. This is a moving yet funny story that will make you think life life to the fullest never judge others and life your own life. I love this series a highly recommended must read.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet read with very relatable characters. I loved how JJ and Ella completely matched each other. They were absolutely perfect for each other and brought out the best in each other. The ending was perfect and had me in happy tears. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
Confessions of a Chatterbox is Amazing!! I was laughing so hard in some parts of this book, its a fantastic Romcom just like the first book in the series.I absolutely loved it..
So we met Ella and JJ in Confessions of a Klutz, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out this book was theirs..
This is not your usual love story, no it’s so much more..
I loved JJ’s character, he shone in this book.
If your after a lighthearted Romcom that will have you in stitches at times, this book is for you .. it deserves more than 5 Stars.
Ok so this series is great, I laugh out loud at so much, this book did have me feeling a little squeamish about the relationship. From the last book I pictured JJ being younger. But once I found out his true age it was smooth sailing for me. Read it you won’t be disappointed.
I really liked Confessions of a Chatterbox. This was a quick, light, sweet read. I loved how JJ and Ella’s quirks fit each other so perfectly. And I loved how JJ’s dad was so understanding. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.
Abigail is a relatively new author to me and I have come to really enjoy her writing!
The characters are just different but also unique in their own way particularly in this story!
When Ella moved to New York after college to live with her best friend, she never expected to be asked to teach at her old college back in LA! When her cousin introduces her to JJ and his Dad and Ella is offered a place to stay, what eventuates Between Ella and JJ is something beautiful! You come to understand things about the characters and I really liked them alot, their friendship was rather extraordinary. I really enjoyed this book and I didn’t want it to end…..there were quite a few laughs, some rather endearing moments and when I finished I sighed…in a happy way.
A really wonderful story!
I don’t even know where to start. First book I have read by Abigail Davies and I loved it! This book left my heart so full! To see Ella and JJ’s relationship bloom and fall in love and that she saw him for the true person he was – she just got him! JJ is not your typical alpha male that you read about but oh how you just love him and all his innocence. He was definitely swoonworthy at times!
Thank you for such an awesome read and letting some of us in on characteristics of Autism and how they deal and cope with everyday situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Phenomenal story of acceptance of others. I loved Ella and JJ’s story. JJ had a blunt sweetness about him that had my heart melting. Watching him grow with Ella’s influence was so special.
I was laughing one minute and sighing the next. Abigail serves up all kinds of feelings with this book.
A sweet follow up to Vi and Axel. Full of laughs and sweet moments. You don’t want to miss this laugh out loud book
Confessions of a Chatterbox does NOT disappoint! I laughed all the way through the book! Ella’s though process and motor mouth had me cracking up! Watching JJ’s character grow was absolutely heart melting. As an aunt of a nephew on the spectrum this book really warmed my soul and gives hope that there is an Ella out there for every JJ. While this can be a stand alone, I strongly suggest reading book one, because holy flaming cheeseballs its hysterical and gives you a back story on the other characters. I cannot wait for book 3!!!!!
Oh my! I just turned the last page and I had to write this review while my emotions were fresh. What just happened? My mind is spinning and my heart is full after experiencing this read. El and JJ are AMAZING! I love their realness and humanity. Chuckling and shaking my head in disbelief seem to be my go-to response throughout the first part of this book. Ugh then this author’s ups the game by bringing on her heart melting storyline. My chest is full and the message of this book has me waffling between feeling choked up or just all over happy (haha). Plan for the right amount of spicy to be intertwined in this wonderful book (wink wink). I love some of the social topics this story explores while still maintaining its sense of humor and authenticity. I became so invested in this book that the ending snuck up on me. (hmmm finger tapping chin) Who is coming next in the Confession’s Series?! Eek I can’t wait! Happy Reading!
This was a pretty solid follow-up to Vi and Axel’s story. I adored JJ and his unapologetic “this is me” way and the passion with which he lived and loved. While he wasn’t what is considered “normal” to all, he was wonderful and went for what he wanted for himself and others. Ella was a little harder to love at first, but she had me hooked by the third chapter. She essentially put her life on hold for her best friend and was unsure of how to live without worrying about how it would reflect on Chad. While trying to find her own way, completely on her own, she met a unique man and found herself upside down mentally and emotionally over him. Her first meetings with JJ were cute and funny, and their slow burn was sweet and hilarious at the same time. And that ending…WOW. JJ definitely stepped outside his comfort zone to pull that off, and it was fantastic! Overall, this book made me laugh almost as hard as Vi’s did and gave me the HEA I’d expect from this author.
Not only is Abigail Davies a new author to me but this whole storyline was very different to anything I had read before and certainly is a page turner. The characters in this book are very unique and as their story unfolds you will find yourself laughing out loud one moment and crying tears of joy the next. I don’t want to write a review that gives the whole story away because I really believe you need to go into this book with no expectations, you need to get to know characters for yourself so on that note I’m just going to say please take a chance and one click this brilliant read, open your mind to a love story where one partner has autism and only thinks in black and white, right or wrong but that doesn’t mean he feels any less and the love in this book is strong and passionate and to be honest any woman would be extremely lucky to receive this kind of love…….
This author has no fear writing about a subject most would shy away from, she wrote with compassion and I know I came out the other end believing Autism is part of a person it does not define them. This is a funny enjoyable read so once again I’m going to say you need to read this book.
Looking forward to reading more from this very talented author
This is the second book in this awesome series, and is Ella and JJ’s story. Ella is a self confessed chatterbox, who talks to herself to fill the silence around her. JJ is autistic, and what a wonderful character he is. These two cannot deny the attraction between them, and they complete each other. This is a beautifully written flawless story, which is hilarious from beginning to end, and with so many laugh-out loud moments. This is one of the best novels which I have had the pleasure of reading for a long time! I was totally intrigued and hooked throughout this beautiful and unique story, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, who I highly recommend for all readers.
I love this book so much, it is definitely going to be one of my favourite reads of the year.
I enjoyed the first book, but this book is just brilliant. I love Ella and JJ and how they fit as a couple, again my favourite couple by far in a a book.
I love the way that Abigail has managed to capture JJ’s personality and made his quirks part of who he is, as I know this is a part of his autism, but some people don’t know much about it.
Definitely recommend this book it is brilliant
