Book 2 – you must read book 1 first!!
I was dying for this story after the ending of book one. My battered heart needed answers. And I got plenty in book 2, but I also got plenty more questions. Gah! One thing I know for sure – I FLOVE Liam!! He and Samantha are meant to be – I won’t have it any other way. Loved this story. We got plenty of action, chemistry, betrayal and let’s not forget love. Now I impatiently wait for book 3.
This the second book of this series. Sexiness and suspense will have your mind blown in a good way!!! Samantha Brooks is now a woman with amazing opportunity to work/tour with world renowned singer Harry March. Samantha is hoping Liam will finally come to his senses and realize they belong together. The sexual attraction can no longer be denied but Liam must come to grips with that. The past and truth will emerge. These truths will determine their future together. The plot twists, the cast of amazing characters/sub plots and super sexiness is so worth reading the amazing story
Concerto is the second book in Skye Warren’s North Security series. The first book, Overture, was a five star read for me. It went on my keeper shelf. I loved the chemistry between Liam and his 18-year old ward, Samantha. I enjoyed the second book but I felt like it was mostly filler. Book one ends with Samantha, a musical prodigy, in grave danger. The danger continues throughout all of book two as Samantha goes on tour. There are a variety of new characters introduced–most of them seem to take up page space but don’t advance the story all that much. And there’s still danger lurking when book two comes to a close. Book three is expected later this summer.
In Concerto, the action is nonstop! Liam is still fighting his feelings, his brother is acting different, and Samantha BLOSSOMS. She is on the cusp of realizing her potential. There’s so much going on- a show to perform, secrets to be revealed, some bad guys, and so much tension. Apparently, this will be a THREE book series and is NOT over. I kind of wondered, because of all the action, there had to be more to the story. Well, I already preordered book three.
Oh and I like how at the end she explains that some characters who made appearances had their own books, so I can go back and read them.
This is a great read that kept me riveted. I wanted to know what was going to happen with Samantha and Liam, and if they were going to keep pushing and pulling each other apart. Their tug of war really kept the tension going, and always made me wonder what was going to happen.
I wasn’t sure what was going to happen most of the time, and I thought that was great. I like being kept off balance that way, and Skye Warren is really good at it. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with the rest of the story. I also can’t wait to see the books for the rest of the North brothers, because it’s going to be so good.
It’s always nice to see a book that takes place in Tanglewood, because we get to see bits and pieces of old favorites.
Liam and Samantha’s story just sucks you right into the story. Picking up right where the last book left off this one continues the suspense, the sexiness, and the surprising twist. I loved getting more of their intense journey and can’t wait to get their ending. Yes, this one ends in another cliffhanger and has me screaming because I just have to know how it ends. I am absolutely loving this trilogy!!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
GAHHH the twists and turns continue. I can’t get enough of this series. This book has quite a bit of action in it. Lots of crazy. Lots of little twists and turns that had me on my toes. Definitely didn’t lose interest one time while reading. This is one of those books where there are so many details you can’t be distracted or you’ll miss something huge. Sam and Liam are sizzling! So taboo and a little forbidden. I love that! Only with this book, things are even more challenging for them.
This is a must read serial for me. I can’t wait to see what happens next when everything is revealed! It’s going to be EPIC in true Skye Warren fashion!
Where do I begin with how heart stopping this book is?! The continuing story of Liam and Samantha will hold you enthralled from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down, so I read it in one sitting! This starts with Samantha going on her tour and Liam fighting his feelings for her. He knows it’s wrong, but why does it feel so right. And Samantha has always known she has loved Liam, but how to make him understand that. These two characters are so complex, yet so perfect for each other. I am in awe of this author, as she has made me fall in love with these characters. Now to wait for the final book in this phenomenal series. I don’t know if I can wait that long.
My amazement has just reached the next level. I’m not joking. I got so caught up in Samantha and Liam’s story that I can’t think about anything else. I’m enchanted by Skye Warren’s words, like a fan of classical music is enchanted with the sounds of instruments and I can’t wait for the grand finale to give the author a standing ovation. Concerto is full of suspense, surprising twists and passion pours out of the pages of this incredible book. Sit down comfortably, because you will not be able to stop this amazing read even for a second!
Samantha follows her dream and sets off to prepare for the world tour. Unfortunately, to find herself she must leave Liam behind. Although her heart is bleeding the girl is trying to grow up from a sheltered girl into an independent woman. Liam keeps his distance, trying in the same time to keep Samantha safe. But when the danger emerges from around the corner, Liam will become a human wall to protect his beloved. The secrets come to light. The choices have to be made. Will they manage to find a middle ground that will allow Samantha to fulfill her dreams and stay safe at the same time?
Be still my heart… I can’t count how many times my pulse speeded up during this read. Skye Warren played my feelings like maestro! The bond that connects our heroes is so strong that I felt like crying as soon as there were any complications in their relationship. I fell in love with Liam even more and suffered when he struggled with memories and emotions. His devotion to Samantha is so strong that this man would give up his life for her. And Samantha… It was wonderful to watch this girl start to spread her wings. Finally she learned to stand her ground and she gained confidence to speak her mind. And can we talk about sexiness overload? Because Samantha and Liam’s chemistry is explosive! I couldn’t get enough of their intimate moments and Liam’s dirty mouth.
I’ll start to throw these books in everyone faces, because it’s a sin not to read the North Security series. Concerto only confirmed that this is one of the top series of all time and I’m waiting for Sonata with bated breath. Definitely MUST READ!
After reading Overture, I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this one—especially in terms of the storyline. But Skye Warren continues to astound me with her ability to have you hooked and sucked even deeper into a world she creates for the reader. I got lost in Wonderland. I fell into the rabbit hole and there’s no escaping for me until I get that last book. Until I learn all the other truths still hidden in the story and the fate of these two characters.
“I still feel voiceless without the four hundred grams of wood in my arms. Liam North is the exception. When he touches me, I feel my whole body sing. The notes fill the air even if he steals my breath.”
In Concerto, Liam and Samantha were absolutely sexier, more explosive and intense than ever. The whole book was like the crescendo in a symphonic masterpiece. There were jaw-dropping revelations, heartbreaking scenes, and shocking twists you won’t see coming. Every moment will keep you on the edge of your seat, anxious of what will come next. And by the end of it all, after getting a deeper glimpse of what these two have gone through, you’ll just want them to have that happily ever after they truly deserve.
“I would still be a mindless killing machine if I’d never found her, drowning in bodies and blood. She made me breathe again.”
I’m more than ready for that finale! I definitely can’t wait to read and have Sonata in my hands.
This series is becoming more Entangled
Samantha is finally doing what she has always wanted to do….play her violin and share it with others. The concert begins in Tanglewood and will finish up in New York, but will continue on for 18 months. She’s lonelier than ever without Liam by her side but Josh his brother is her current bodyguard. Liam however, just can’t stay away from her and he eventually shows up with more information about her being in danger.
A few surprises I wasn’t expecting and I look forward to Samantha and Liam’s trilogy conclusion
Concerto by Skye Warren is book 2 in the North Security Series. This book continues Liam North and Samantha Brooks’ story.
In Concerto, the story picks up where Overture left off. We get to see how the pull is between Liam and Samantha; from that we get to see how the push grows and how that pull grows stronger between them. Without giving anything away spoiler wise; this book has tons of action and suspense, huge surprising twists and steamy passion just jump out of the pages from this fantastic book. relationship is steamy and taboo and filled with incredible chemistry. There were moments in the story that were very touching and yet very upsetting, like when Samantha and Liam struggled with themselves and one another. You could feel the emotions that came across the pages of the book.
Liam is filled with demons from his past. He is struggling hard- can he break free from those demons to let go enough to see what’s important? Will he be brave to let go of the past and embrace his present to have his future ? Will Samantha ever get the answers from Liam that she’s seeking? Will they let their past go? Will the past let them go or will the danger continue to seek them until someone pays the price.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ********
This is a beautiful concerto! 4 stars
You must read Overture first, because Concerto is the middle of the story. What a beautifully emotional middle of the story it is! My heart was breaking for both Liam & Samantha. My heart broke for Samantha, because all she wanted was to be loved. My heart broke for Liam, because he felt he can’t truly love her with the sins of his past. But they are meant to be! Samantha did bloom into a beautiful woman in this book. I was also shocked with the twisty turns that happened which kept me turning pages until the end! I can’t wait to see how this trilogy ends in Sonata!
This series may just kill me. Kill me dead…
It picks up where book 1 overture leaves off, Samantha is heading on tour and Liam is letting her go…
This book has angst, love, possession, heat, every-flipping-thing.
The writing is phenomenal!
There’s such an element of intrigue. And age taboo…
And behind all deeply felt love!!!
Seriously everything Skye Warren fights is a go to for me. This is easily topping the list!
I highly recommend!
Skye Warren
This is the second book in the North Security Series. The story continue where the first book ended. This story is beautifully written. The stoyline is intriguing, suspenseful, action packed, filled with danger, drama, and twists and turns. I love the chemistry between Samantha and Liam. Now, I can’t wait for Sonata, the last book in the Series.
This book is the second part of the story of Liam and Samantha. This was full of action and angst, as well as lust. The new characters introduced in this book are interesting and make me think there’ll be more books in this series. The book ends on a cliffhanger, on a high… I wanted to keep reading, so it felt too short. However, it’s a wonderful story with beautiful people, places, music, and sex and lust, so I can’t wait to read the conclusion of the story in Sonata.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Concerto is the second book in Skye Warren North Security Series. You must read Overture first or your going to be so lost. This book picks up wee Overture leaves off. With Samantha ready to go on a world tour. Liam too is working extra hard to keep her protected and safe. Samantha has always been super sheltered and is trying her hardest to grow up into a independent woman. Liam for his part is keeping his distance all while trying to keep her safe. However no matter how much he tries to distance himself he and Samantha, weather they are taboo or not, have some smoking heart chemistry and moments. This though doesn’t stop Samantha from finding herself and having to leave Liam. However it is not long before secrets start to unravel and danger will rear its head and you will be thrown into a story so intense that you will love every single second of it. I loved both of these books so much. Skye Warren has written a must read duet that your going to be sorry if you don’t pick it up and read it. I devoured this book since I had been waiting a little bit for it. It is so amazing I can not recommend it enough.

Skye Warren literally did it to me AGAIN.
The more I step into the world that Samantha and Liam live in, the more emotional and distraught I become. But not in a bad way, no! Skye Warren has a talent in taking what could’ve been simple forbidden love and manipulating and crafting it into something TWISTY and EXHILARATING.
Overture was an amazing read that went above and beyond my expectations when coming in for the first time. Concerto has completely FLOORED me. The complexities and intricacies of each relationship, dynamic, plot point were thrilling to experience and uncover.
I fell in love with Liam and Samantha in book 1, but Concerto brought the depth and growth that both of these characters need to succeed in love and life. Concerto will leave you on the edge of your seat! I cannot wait for Sonata!!
Thank you for the arc!
5 Stars!
This story is the continuation from Samantha and Liam’s story in Overature. But, Concerto is so much more that just Samantha and Liam’s story as Skye so expertly weaves in the other characters and their stories in this book. I could feel the intense emotions of the books characters so much so that I wanted to savor this book slowly and make it last. However this is just not possible as the story is so compelling. I’m anxiously but also tensely awaiting for the finale in Sonata!
This is so much more than I could have imagined. Overture and Concerto are two masterpieces in a row.
I really found myself loving every word, every scene. Beautiful writing, haunting even, especially when exposing the keen poetry of music and violin performances, or the bittersweet tragedy of impossible love.
How can a writer manage to make an intimate scene both lustful and sacred?
I’ve been vibrating with sensual energy all throughout the pages. Atmospheric, this second part is intensely felt, almost electrified with tension and hidden threat and, oh yes, a forbidden bond between guardian and protégé.
This continuation to Overture boasts mysterious secrets, dazzling musical performances, torn hearts and delicious passion. Luxurious to read.
Liam and Samantha hover between separation and magnetic pull. I felt like a live wire between them. This extremely complex, ambiguous relationship beats with a torn heart and darkly alluring sensuality. Sometimes, a chapter ended with a breathtaking resonance.
The theme of this novel, beyond anything else, is love denied when it is the true catalyst to healing and freedom. Liam is a tortured spirit, darkened by his inhumane roots about which we start to discover more, and Samantha is an orphan who still clings to a needy daughter’s hopes. The interactions between them are precious.
I also enjoyed myself so much with the appearance of Bea and Hugo and their domestic bliss, the savvy Candy and imposing Ivan, and the very meaningful town of Tanglewood.
I’m so satisfied with this story. The power of music touches me every time Samantha plays, and the details of the tour are sophisticated and mesmerizing. A dangerous game of cat and mouse is going on, which would make me fidget and read avidly, with wide-eyed curiosity. This couple is just as entrancing as the suspense plot. He’s like a dragon and a knight combined in one dark warrior. She’s blooming like the strongest flower. I loved how much she grows in this second book, and those shocking last pages full of heartbreak and sacrifice. Stunning.
I am panting for the next masterpiece.
