If you thought that Samantha was pulling the strings, you were wrong! Skye Warren is truly the puppet master behind the heartstrings. Samantha may be a world class musician but Skye Warren is a magician. She weaves her magic through the notes, the interesting tidbits, and creates a Wonderland that blinds the eyes and surrounds the senses.
This rabbithole, Concerto, is a decidedly different and equally as twisted as Alice’s. Enemies and friends…yet never knowing which is which. A love expected and yet not returned. On edge and free to be herself, except she can not without him.
Liam is a catalyst and also a solution. Samantha is struggling to figure out which aspect answers her questions and which rules her heart.
Concerto will amp your need, drive your adrenaline, and halt your body just before crashing you into a concrete wall- all while making your mind race with possibilities. The music is a way to control you (mind, body, and soul). Skye Warren has us exactly where she wants us…at her mercy; poised and waiting for Sonata!

You can’t go wrong with Skye Warren. Everything she writes is just incredibly well done. My favorite by her is Wanderlust.
Concerto is the latest in her Overture series. It’s also now out on Audiobook and is going straight onto my audio wishlist!
Also I’m LOVING these covers. Now I’m just waiting for Sonata to go on Audio.
To say I’m in love with this story is an understatement. This is a must read for all dark romance fans!
I have been dying for this book ever since I finished the first book. And it doesn’t disappoint at all. From the very beginning the angst of as there. Concerto has all the elements of an extraordinary romantic suspense story. Simply gripping. A lot sinful!
Samantha and Liam and their connection had the powerful punch. Samantha is now on her own about to start the first leg of the tour she was asked to join. Liam is doing everything he can to find who’s behind the events that happened in book one.
I feel more In love with these characters and the story. Skye Warren definitely knows how to hooks us and makes us set in the edge of our seats trying to guess what happens next.
I can’t wait for what’s next.
Audible listen. Narrators do a great job. The female narrator fits Samantha really well, and her guy voice is actually decent too. The male narrator has a nice tone to his voice; he fits Liam well. A good listening experience.
Book 2 in this series; it continues the story of Liam and Samantha, so I’d recommend starting with the first book for the best reading experience. Samantha is newly on her own after turning 18; she’s a classical musician, so she’s going on tour. There’s also a strong possibility that she could be in danger; possibly from her own father. For the romance aspect, Samantha is in love with Liam, who used to be her guardian. They have had intimate moments, but Liam insists he’s not the one for her and pushes her away. Interesting story; some of the drama with the other members of the play/concert is a little boring and I didn’t care much for the other characters, but overall I enjoyed the story. The chemistry between Liam and Samantha is sweet and passionate, and I liked their vibe together. Liam is kind of annoying with him giving her mixed signals all the time; he needs therapy, but I appreciate his protective nature towards Samantha. I appreciate that Samantha tends to make smart decisions in regards to her safety, and I like the overall story about who is after Samantha. Also, I like that Liam is in “security”; I’d actually like for there to be more action in this story, but the passionate romance is the main focus. Overall, I’m enjoying this series! Looking forward to reading the next and final book!
Concerto by Skye Warren is book 2 in the North Security trilogy. Liam and Samantha’s story continues on with her going on her world tour and Liam in and out of the picture. I am loving this taboo story line and watching your connection continue to grow! More secrets are revealed while the danger grows! Full of angst, lust, and mystery! The ending will knock your socks off!!!! I can’t wait to dive into the third and final book to see how their story unfolds!!
I don’t have much free time but when I do I reach for a Skye Warren book because she never disappoints. Her language use is like music to me.
Angst, suspense, intrigue and a darn good continued story that only Skye Warren can weave in her methodical way. She keeps you hanging on the edge, tips you over draws you back, then tips you again repeatedly. I will however hang in there for Sonata, because I’m sure she has much more enticing to do especially with Teddy and Grace telling the story.
Review for Audiobook Obsession
Concerto continues where Overture ended and hit the ground running. Samantha has left Liam’s protection to embark on her world tour. Finally on her own, she is growing from the child prodigy to the talented, confident, sexy woman she was always meant to be. But Liam isn’t far, as it is impossible for him to not be near her. They are complete opposites but compliment each other so perfectly with her light balancing his darkness. But Liam is still holding back from opening up completely to Samantha. Will he be able to do that for long when shocking revelations come to light, and danger keeps lurking around every corner? This continues to be a twisty, thrilling, and sexy story brought to life again by the amazing talents of Teddy Hamilton, Grace Grant. They make this story even more breathtaking and exciting. I can’t wait for the conclusion in bk #3, Sonata.
I absolutely loved Overture, so I could not wait to dive into Concerto. Concerto has a bit of a different feel as Samantha is now an adult and she has left Liam’s home so she can be on her own and have her independence.
Samantha heads out on tour with Liam’s brother as her security, where she ends up finding herself in situations that test her in various ways, considering she has been somewhat sheltered. Her safety comes into question at various points as more information about her past and her biological father come to light. There was a lot of mystery and suspense around the other lead of the tour Samantha is working with, as well as some possible loyalty concerns with Josh, Liam’s brother, which added more intrigue to the story.
I loved the back and forth and angsty nature to Liam and Samantha’s relationship. While they have undeniably chemistry, there is obviously so much love and devotion and protectiveness as well…on both sides. I cannot wait to delve into Sonata and see where this journey continues to take me. I love the author’s writing style and I am really enjoying the musical aspect to the story line and all of the musical references really compliment the story.
Concerto – Skye Warren
Well, that’s it, Samantha has left and Joshua North is her security guard. Hmm, how will that work? Liam on the other hand is working on finding out if her bastard father is still alive and where he might be.
Tanglewood, so much happens in Tanglewood! We get to catch up with Damon and Penny, Candy and Ivan and Samantha gets to visit with her friend Bea and hubby Hugo, as well as their new baby girl. So much happens in Tanglewood! The first few performances with take place at the Grand, like I said it’s a home coming for loyal Skye Warren readers!
What we don’t expect to find is a dead man who apparently never died. Someone is giving access to the theatre and Samantha is now in real danger, there is something “they” want and who ever “they” are, they are willing to bribe someone to get them access to Samantha. What does she know? When does she finally figure out she knows more that she has ever remembered?
Again, we have so much going on in this story and the only good thing that might come out of it is Love and possibility of having to give up someone you love to keep their heart safe. Forget about the intrigue, the bribes, the kidnappings and attempted murder. Love is what this trilogy is all about!
This story essentially picks up where Overture left off. The titles of these books are fitting both in theme and tempo. Our heroine, Samantha, having just turned 18, is no longer under the guardianship of our Hero, Liam, as she leaves to begin her first tour as an elite concert violinist. She’s traveling with Josh, Liam’s brother, as her personal security, and it’s the banter between these brothers that provide some of the humor in this angst-filled continuation of the The North Security series. The masterful writing of the author takes us on the push and pull of Liam’s thoughts as he struggles with his “non-guardianship-type” feelings toward Samantha. As 18 year old Samantha sets off on her professional career, she’s also struggling with her mature feelings for Liam and the emotional distance he creates at times. There’s still a looming, unknown danger to her which also adds another layer of complexity. This story ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared to wait on Liam and Samantha’s HEA!
This is the conclusion to The North series. Totally amazing and captivating read. I fell in love with these characters in the first book and even more in this one. Liam cares more than he wants to admit for Samantha. A compelling taboo love story! Liam wants to protect Samantha from the danger lurking. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

This one was good. Not as good as book 1 as it needed to set up things for the grand finale. I have a lot of hopes for book 3.
In Concerto Samantha is growing up and going her own way after becoming an adult. There will be more angst there – there will be less time together of those two but when they are heat is off the charts.
I can’t wait for book 3 as this one had left me on toes!
A beautiful continuation in this story that alphas so much pain, confusion, love ,determination and survival. You will be feeling all the emotions with these characters throughout the entire book and even though this book will give you a happy for now feeling, you will still be begging for more.
AOB – Concerto (North Security #2) by Skye Warren – 29 September 2019
I was desperate to see where book 2 would take Samantha and Liam. Concerto follows on directly from Overture as Samantha leaves Liam to go on her worldwide tour. Following the attempt on Samanthas’s life, Liam ensures she has adequate protection in the form of his brother Josh. However, when the threat to Samantha increases Liam is unable to stay away. Not quite as taboo as book 1, seeing as though Liam is no longer Samantha’s legal guardian, but Liam and Samantha have more to worry about than just their unbelievable chemistry. Lots of plot twists, sexy time and family drama that drew me in from the get-go. I’m so looking forward to seeing what the conclusion brings in book 3. Still loving the narration – Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant do an admiral job.

This is book two in this series and to get all of Liam and Samantha’s story you must first read book one, Overture. If you are a fan of the forbidden romance trope I don’t think that you can not enjoy this series. The complex combination of long fought desires, angst, steamy passion, drama, tension, suspense, danger, humor and intense emotions quickly pull you back into this couple’s story. I like both these characters. Both have emotional baggage and their complicated history adds another big burden on to the already epic sized pile. The story does make some progress with this book but not as much progress as I would have liked. We do get some questions answered, Samantha matures a bit more and Liam shares some of the darkness of his past with her. In the end though the push-pull, cycle of surrender to desire and guilt is still very much in effect. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I am concerned about this couple realistically finding happiness. Liam loves Samantha. The love he feels for her is intense, deep and in many ways profound. He is consumed by it and tormented by it. Samantha loves him but does she love him enough. If I consider her actions in this book, I’m left wondering if she does. Liam is tragically broken. Her love has to be strong and powerful enough to accept his flaws because love is not the cure all to fix him. His scars are too deep and the damage too extreme. Do prepare yourself for the cliffhanger because there is another one to be survived before things wrap up in book three. The narrators again did a stellar job of bringing every nuance to life in this taught, emotional romance.
!ystery, secrets, danger still surrounds Samantha. Can it get anymore steamier between Liam and Samantha? Samantha loves Liam, but does Liam know how to love? Is he confusing his protecting her all these years for love? Can he learn to distinguish the difference, since he himself grew up without love? Is there a mole in North Security? Who is it? Liam’ s brother Josh, Elijah or others? Could it be any of performers in the concert , stagehands, or managers? His brother, Josh, is supposed to be protecting Samantha , but how did her father get past security into her dressing room? Who helped him? As Liam said, anyone can be bought! No one can be trusted. What is the the secret that she hides deep in her mind, but doesn’t remember, that people want her dead? Skye Warren had me at the edge of my seat with the twists I didn’t expect. The addition of new characters on the tour brought another dimension to this story. Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton narration showed all the emotions of the different characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I can’t wait to listen to the next installment. #audiobookobessionreviewteam
Book two of the series and not stand alone. Violin prodigy has grown up and leaves the best, but the danger follows. The hero of the story is tortured soul who can’t help but fall for her. Strangely enthralling story with a dash of heat.
