One of the best things about an Ava Harrison book is you never see what’s coming!
This is the story of Willow and Jaxson.
Willow is running for her life. I love how Ms. Harrison doesn’t just come out and who and why she is running, but you can feel the terror and the need to flee that Willow has. You can empathize with her need to get away and start somewhere new and try to find a way to justice. A chance meeting with Jaxson Pierce may be the answer to her dilemma. I admired Willow’s inner strength and her need to better herself and search for the truth.
Jaxson is so misunderstood by his family. I was cheering hard for him. And I swooned over his need to help Willow. I also loved how Willow was able to really “see” Jaxson and the friendship that developed.
The twists and turns in this story kept me turning the pages to see what happens next. Ms. Harrison never fails to surprise me with her bombshells!
If you are looking for a fantastic story of friendship, love and saving yourself, look no further than this story!
Conceal is the perfect mix of romance and suspense…it’s not too dark and not too sweet. There are light hearted moments and plenty of heat, but there’s a thrilling undertone throughout that adds another depth to the story. The plot and character development is awesome!
Jaxson has always been on the outer circle of the Price family, with his secretive side business and a tenuous relationship with his siblings. He’s brash, but not heartless…more sensitive than he first appears. I love how his character evolved after he met Willow, a broken woman with secrets of her own. Their chemistry is off the charts, though their relationship isn’t an easy one.
I thoroughly enjoy reading everything from Ava Harrison, and Conceal is one of my favorites!
This was my first book by Ava Harrison and will NOT be my last!! I absolutely loved this book and will continue to read from Ava!!
And I ran. I Ran So Far Away.

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
She ran away, far from the danger. She landed in New York City without any help. And then she meets Jaxson Price. She doesn’t want to ask for help. She doesn’t want to give him her heart. But we don’t always get what we want.
This is my second Ava Harrison read. I enjoyed it very much! The dedication already had me on my toes. There are a lot of aspects that I liked in this story: the leading heroine, the hero, the constant consumption of food, the messages the story sent… I loved every single part of that.
Jax was loveable from the start, in his misunderstood ways. He was hilarious and heartfelt. He’s a fine MF with his rich people attitude LOL.
Willow was a fighter. She was a mystery wrapped in a person and she made us work hard for her secrets. I’m not going to say that I didn’t like that because I did LOL. When Willow brought the claws out to defend a person’s honor… You’ll understand what I mean when you read it. IT WAS GLORIOUS. She didn’t need a man to rescue her, FACTS.
Jax and Willow’s chemistry was on fire. They were cute together.
I recommend this story to lovers of misfits, strong women and food. There’s lots of food in this story.
If I’ve thought I wanted Grayson… Nevermind, give me Jaxson!!! I loved him, he’s perfect, despite his “Playboy” don’t have a care in the world, resides a perfect “humble” and caring man.
This book was a slow-burn romance but it has a really good paced, it doesn’t get boring at all.
One of the things I like the most is the special friendship that develops between Jaxson and Willow, the way he makes her trust him and the small gestures he has towards her.
Honestly Jaxson was the perfect man, I truly loved him, and I am glad he got to mend his relationship with his siblings, specially Grayson.
As for the narration, what a perfect pair of narrators to bring this story to life that Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber, they truly did a perfect performance and I enjoyed every minute of their narration.
Audio review:
Conceal is a beautiful love story with compelling characters, and reams of suspense swirling through the pages. The writing style is organic, intriguing and sensual. A entertaining and passionate listen.
Dual narration performance by Zachary Webber, Andi Arndt was just perfect. Every emotion was conveyed flawlessly. I loved the performance.
Whew. My heart is racing.
This is one of those stories where you felt like you were looking over your shoulder waiting for the boogeyman to jump out and get you. That suspenseful story where you don’t quite know if you can keep going but you can’t stop either.
Willow is on the run but you aren’t quite sure why until you get into the story. The reveal of her past is sprinkled throughout and adds to the suspense. Jax is an interesting character and it takes you awhile to get to see the real man. The two of them together helped fill voids in each others’ lives. I love how they start with a friendship until it becomes more. They were just perfect together.
I listened to this story on audio and it was narrated by two powerhouses in Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber. Listening to them perform it, just added to the suspense that much more.
Jaxson is unique. His story is full of mystery, naughtiness, smart@ss remarks and… pain. Pain for all those things that no one wants to recognize. The lost love, the vulnerability, all those thins that came from not want to be seen as a person with flaws.
And maybe for that or maybe not, I couldn’t connect with this book. It was a little hard for me.
I love Ava and all her stories full of feelings and emotions that sometimes we don’t wanna see in ourselves.
But Jaxson is worthy. He always is.
Jackson and Willow’s story was definitely a slow burn with some angst in their. Not the story I was expecting and some parts played out a little to much, but overall Jackson was a sweetheart and Willow the shy heroine found her voice and backbone.
I liked it. 4 stars for me.
This book was everything I expected from Ava and beyond. Jaxson was the black sheep of the family and I was waiting for his story. It was so worth the wait. It was a satisfying read .He was the light tempered, easy to laugh and not the serious one among the siblings. There was definitely a layer to him which he hid from the world. There was so much more to his character than meet the eye . He was trying to get his siblings approval , trying to show them he was responsible and can take care of business. This is a beautiful slow burn romance between Jax and Willow . Willow is going through rough times and there are too many secrets which she hides well . The story is captivating and quite engaging. I loved the slow burn romance between Jax and Willow. Definitely a must read. Deserves all the stars
Conceal by Ava Harrison.
ARC kindly provided by the author.
“The devil came out to play, bargaining lives for a price, sending those to hell who crossed him.”
This story was definitely a build up. It is a slow process that will have you hooked looking forward to what would happen next.
“He’s like the sun. His presence brings me warmth, but if I allow it, it will set me ablaze. Burn me.”
Jaxson Price is an easy-going, extroverted, and determined type of person. One of his goals is to attain the approval of his siblings and for them to see that he can be responsible without being babied or nit-picked. With a past reputation of a party boy, it is hard to change his image from his families eyes, so he is determined to show them that he can be more than what they think of him.
“This is a smirk that is only fit for a god. The worst part about it is that he knows it.”
Willow is a run away that is determined to completely hide her identity and to involve as little people as possible. Her fear is evident, but her determination to lay low is strong.
“She’s otherworldly. She’s like a Greek goddess sent down to Earth to tempt men.”
This was suspenseful with a beautiful romance. There was a lot of twists and turns that it was really hard to stop reading to slow down.
“You were never the damsel in distress. You didn’t need me to storm the castle. You picked up the sword and saved yourself.”
Conceal is the perfect blend of secrets and the slow burn of romance. The suspense was nonstop and will have you eager to read faster to get to the next page. Jaxson is extremely sweet and he will have you falling in love with him. Willow is so strong that you have no choice but to admire her so much. Ava’s writing was easy to read. It was enjoyable. This was off the charts!
This is one slow burning story. The angst and tension are high. The mystery and intrigue keep the pages turning. Jaxson is the good bad boy we hope he’ll be while trying his best to find out what Willow is hiding. Willow has a lot to consider while trying to keep her friends out of danger also. A good story concealing feelings and truths while still displaying heat and love.
Jax really amazed me in this book. I knew he had a heart of gold, but seeing the way he wanted to take care of Willow warmed my heart. I wanted his relationship with Grayson to warm up, to see them still at odds was a little frustrating.
Willow was tough and I admired her tenacity. The conflict she struggled with seemed to go on a little too long. I understand she had trouble trusting people, but she lamented over opening up to someone and sharing her truths longer than necessary. Willow and Jax were great together. They found home with each other and they deserved their happiness
I always enjoy Ava’s writing and love this series she has created with The Price family.
Jaxson is having a hard time trying to prove himself to his family especially his older brother Grayson. Their relationship hasn’t been the same since their Dad passed away.
Jaxson is on a mission to prove to his siblings they can finally trust him and his playboy days are his past.
Until he meets Willow, the one women who avoids him and doesn’t fall at his every word. She’s beautiful, intriguing and is hiding something. Something he needs to come to light but first he must gain her trust.
Willow’s secrets took a bit longer than expected to be revealed. They build a strong friendship and with that friendship, trust!
Conceal is the perfect name for this story. So much is concealed within the pages and the characters. Willow is broken because of her past. She is running from that past and finds and old friend to hide with. Willow’s story brings the story suspense and so many emotions. Jaxson is just as broken, but because of broken relationships within his family. Willow and Jaxson heal as they grow closer together. I love this kind of romance. I think the bonds are so much stronger. We see that through Jaxson’s over protectiveness of Willow. As we get to know the person Jaxson has concealed, he becomes a loveable hero. I was com[;etely drawn into their story and I could not stop listening.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are a great narrating team. Andi brings life to Willow. I felt every emotion and struggle of Willow’s through Andi’s narration. Zachary has the perfect voice for Jaxson. Rugged and strong, Zachary creates Jaxson exactly as I imagined him. It felt as if Ava Harrison wrote these characters specifically for these narrators. I cannot get enough of these narrators.
Ava Harrison scores with this perfect blend of romance suspense and enjoyed every second of it.
Willow and Jaxon are fantastic. From their very first meeting to watching them become more, I was captivated by their tentative friendship which slowly simmers into romance territory. Jax never seems to fit in with his family and Willow is on the run from something yet together these two just fit. My swoon-o-meter was broken by Jaxon and how carefully he cared for Willow. But I loved, loved, LOVED that Willow ultimately takes control of her life and saves herself!
Not only do we get a fantastic new romance, but we also get glimpses of past characters and an epilogue that left my heart so full. Definitely a must read book.
Once again Ava knows exactly what her audio fans want to hear and her casting is perfect. Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber flawlessly bring Willow and Jaxon’s story to life. You just can’t go wrong with this narrating duo and an Ava Harrison novel.
I’m fairly new to Ava Harrison’s work. I liked the bit of mystery and the shock factor we get to learn about Willow. For me though overall, the story was just ok, but it just dragged way to much to get to the point. I think I might have wanted more of a intro of Willow and Jaxon, because I just think these two lacked chemistry.
Zachary and Andi did a good job of narrating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Willow a wife on the run. Maggie along time best friend that takes Willow in and asks no questions.
A chance meeting with Jaxson Price at a gas station and poker game. The background is set
for a suspense filled and angst read. The book takes you on Willow’s journey from childhood to
present day. She is running but it takes half the book to find out what she is running from.
The chemistry and trust that builds between Willow and Jax keeps you turning pages. Jax is the
guy everyone comes to for help and Willow turns to Jax to help her. The story takes twists and
turns and draws you in so you keep on hoping Willow will overcome her fear. Of course listening
to Andi Arndt and that sexy voice of Zachary Webber is a wonderful plus.
Absolutely loved it. Such a great book I couldn’t put it down
So Jax is misunderstood in the family. He is good for hacking and finding out information for everyone but when it comes to trusting him with the family business, everyone questions whether or not he can do it. He is out to prove his siblings wrong. He didn’t expect to have Willow in his life. They met during a poker game and there was instant chemistry. Willow is hesitant given why she’s running. She was being used and finally got away. She is terrified for her life and is always looking over her shoulder. She doesn’t really have anywhere to turn or anyone to trust.. Her friend Maggie helps her out but meeting Jaxson has her wondering whether or not love is real. They start out as friends and then it’s Jaxson being a tour guide for Willow around NYC. While Jax is proving himself at work, Willow is trying to come to terms with what she did and how to survive. Jax grows a lot in this book but I have to give Willow credit with opening Grayson’s eyes with how great Jax is. Willow finally opens up and her story is one sad one. She was just a pawn in a game and don’t worry justice is served. The ride that these two endure is just sweet and romantic. Jax is very protective of Willow but don’t worry she can take care of herself. The ending is super sweet. I loved reading this book and watching the characters grow into their own. Oh and fall in love with each other..
