★Keeping two lovers in sync is hard enough. Three is incredibly complicated.★
Jaxson, Chase, and Emma may have officially bit off more than they can chew. Already running two wildly successful clubs in Washington D.C., they decide to expand, opening Runway West and Black Light West in luxurious Beverly Hills, California. But there is no relaxing for the infamous threesome. With construction … infamous threesome. With construction deadlines looming, staffing decisions to make, and multiple outsiders hitting on her men, Emma feels pressured into keeping a dangerous secret from them–breaking the number one rule of their unique relationship.
Can Jaxson, Chase, and Emma’s complicated love survive all that life is throwing at them, or will the pull of outside influences cause it to fall apart forever?
Author’s Note: Complicated Love takes place in the Black Light world and while the characters have appeared in previous books, it can be read as a standalone and complete story.

If you’ve been captivated with not only the Black Light series, but the triad of Jaxson, Chase and Emma, then you should know this book has brought to light all the questions of jealousy, inadequacies, insecurities, and taking one another for granted that come in a couple relationship. All of these emotions brought not only the storyline but the characters closer to life-like and relatable. Livia Grant had generously interspersed their love, emotions, and scenes throughout the book. I wondered did she realize she had brought an additional voyeur into her work because, yes, I was there every second. What an incredible storyline that I don’t seem to get enough of.
I love this trio. I don’t really know what to say other than that. This story is a complex blend of love, emotional issues, and celebrity and how all these can feed into the worst aspects of the others. Jaxson, Chase, and Emma are the perfect examples of how a good relationship works best when all partners are open and honest with one another. Talking out any problems and keeping no secrets – except those involving really awesome gifts. I love everything Black Light and this book is exactly why.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
This is the Second time reading this great BDSM book and I loved it just as much as I did the first time, some books are worth reading over and over and this is one of them. This book is about the opening of of Black Light West, a BDSM club that the main characters run. They started their first BDSM Club in DC and now they are going to have one in LA. The main part of the plot is how a MMF relationship works in the long term as life happens and how the characters work on their relationship and keep it strong. I think you will love how the story develops, I know I did.
Oh so stressful! I love how the Infamous trio work through all their problems. Emma, Chase and Jax are amazing…..separately and even more so together.
Jaxson, Chase and Emma…I adore these three!
So they’re opening a Runway/Black Light in California and it’s a stressful mess! Short time period, moody assistants, flirty designers, a huge secret and a buttload of home sickness.
This book is amazingly intense. The love between this triad is phenomenal, the kind of love everyone dreams of. There is a HUGE secret that rocks their world and is absolutely perfect, especially towards the end.
Definitely a book to read more than once!
I just can’t get enough of Chase, Emma and Jaxon. They are such deep and engaging characters and the extensive world building of the whole Black Light series makes them seem so real. I feel like I could a lo right into one of the clubs and see them myself- assuming I could afford the fee. This book showed so much depth in their relationships and was so realistic. It had all the feels.
I have to admit that I rarely read ménage romances but I’ve read a couple of Black Light books and was always intrigued by Emma, Chase and Jaxson’s relationship. So I took a chance to finally read their story.
I honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I did but I was pleasantly surprised and completely hooked!
It was easy to connect with characters and all three of them were well developed. The author also did a great job making them and their struggles realistic and relatable. There are many bumps on their road to HEA and you should prepare for an emotional roller coaster but it’s all worth it in the end.
I look forward to read more in Black Light series.
I received a copy of this book from HiddenGems and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Loved it.
Complicated Love picks up Jaxson, Chase and Emma’s story from Infamous Love a few years later. I loved it and wish I had started reading this series sooner. I now have to go back and start the series from the beginning to catch up on all the couples stories. Can’t wait to read them all.
This book picks up Jaxson, Chase and Emma’s story a few years later. They have already opened their clubs Runway and Black Light in DC and are expanding to open two more clubs in California. They are all under an insane amount of pressure to open the club’s on time. Emma is hiding a huge secret from her men. Once revealed the course of their future is changed forever. They have a lot of issues to work out both professionally and personally before they can get on with their HEA. Highly recommend reading this series.
This is my first Black Light novel and now I wish I would have been picking these up sooner. This was hot, passionate, sexy, fun, and couldn’t put it down.
Will Emma’s secret complicate their love
I love the Blacklight series and this book by Livia was phenomenal! Along with the tight deadlines of opening a West Coast Runway and Black Light, Jaxson and Chase know that Emma is keeping a secret from them. What could it be, had me devouring the pages to find out along with her men. Livia details an emotional Emma which Jaxson and Chase struggle to understand. I love Chase’s interactions with Jaxson when Jaxson needs it and how Jaxson proves time and again that he is the dom of the trio. I absolutely loved the ending!!!
COMPLICATED LOVE by Livia Grant
The two book series (Infamous Love and Complicated Love) was my introduction to MMF menage, and what an introduction that was! Jaxson, Emma, and Chase are my menage book friends. I love everything about each one of them .. Jaxson, the firm but oh so loving dom, Emma, the naturally beautiful full-figured “glue” that holds this trio together, and Chase, the huge-hearted switch that is the peacemaker of the family. They are the creators/owners of Black Light East and West .. the kinky club we all covet a membership to. If you’ve read Infamous Love and/or any BL books, this book is a must read. Easily 5 stars .. maybe10!
I laughed and I cried and I loved every word In this book. These three characters are special and the insight into their personalities was perfect. It was also great to see Ryder and Khloe and Cash and Samantha as well as several other characters as Runway West/Black Light West is being developed and opened. There was certainly drama and intrigue, but for me it was the insight into the trios personalities that was so compelling especially the vulnerability exposed in Jaxson. This is a beautiful addition to the Black Light series.
It’s a treat to focus again on Jaxson, Chase, and Emma as they prepare for the opening of the new club. The stresses involved put pressure on all three, but in different ways, and this gives insight both into their relationship and into their future. In order to avoid spoilers, I can’t say more about the story, but I can talk about the writing. As always, Livia Grant has written people, rather than characters. I have personal experience of the building trade, and I can say with absolute certainty that, if anything, the stresses are understated too; new builds are nightmarish, something not many people realize. The caring aspect of the relationship is uppermost, there is a surprise for the reader as well as the Doms, and this is definitely a one-sitting read. I finished it wanting more of these three!
3.5 stars for a book that I really liked in parts but wished had been more in others.
I loved the characters Jaxson, Chase and Emma. I loved the uniqueness of their relationship and their history together, and I felt the story line was good.
Omg! What an incredible book! After reading the Black Light Series and finding out about Jaxson, Chase and Emma, I couldn’t wait for this story! And wow, was it worth the wait! The chemistry between these three is so sizzling, it is unreal. The emotions they expressed thru this book felt so real, like I knew them and could actually feel their happiness, distress, love, anger and every other emotion. This series is truly my favorite BDSM style of books. This writer truly knows how to depict the lifestyle and I am in awe of her writing. I am hoping this is not the end of this trio. Absolutely amazing!
Love the characters in this story. If you read any of the Black Light series, you get a glimpse of Jax, Emma, and Chase. This is a continuation of THEIR story.
I think they are my favorite threesome. You get to revisit some of the issues with Emma’s father, Jax’s mother, and the not quite, but almost cliffhanger from Valentine Roulette.
You get a good view into an unconventional loving relationship and the good friendships they developed throughout the series. Secrets are kept and exposed all over the place. New characters are added with the opening of the L.A. Clubs. One of the best scenes I had been waiting for was with Lola. Can’t give more info without having to do a spoiler alert.
And to top it all off, there are No worries, because you still get a fair share of kink and steamy scenes.
If you have enjoyed any of the Black Light series you will probably enjoy this book too.
I don’t think this is going to be a very long review because I honestly can’t say much without giving away the story. I have loved these three people from their very first book and to be able to peek into their lives a few years down the road has been an honor. Jaxon, Chase and Emma are so busy in their lives with the club and the new club they are opening that they have been putting Emma second and it’s taking a toll on the relationship. When Emma keeps a very important secret from the guys and they can’t find her, all hell breaks loose. Add this to deadlines and other issues going on and it leaves them all wondering if their relationship is going to survive. I was totally caught up in this wonderful world that Livia has created. It was so good and I’m so looking forward to more from this trio!!! This will probably become one of my favorites books of this year!!!
This book follows Infamous Love, and we are reunited with Jaxson, Emma, and Chase three years into their D/s relationship. This standalone story is mostly about change. The trio have had huge changes-both positive and stressful-in their personal and professional lives. But at this juncture of their lives, the pressures are enormous and Jaxson, Emma, and Chase are trying to cope as best they can. They are certainly stronger together, and the author has put a lot of consideration into what kinds of issues an MMF couple could experience. What I loved about this book: the interconnection with the Black Light world, and revisiting memorable characters like Khloe and Ryder, who make an appearance in this book. Loved it!
I am voluntarily leaving my opinion of a review copy of this book.
Any reader that is familiar with the Black light series should also be familiar with the triad of Jaxson, Chase, and Emma. This book brings this beloved group back to front and center as everyday stresses, the expanding business, secrets and unexpected insecurities cause the group lots of tense, emotional turmoil and angst. A great read and a terrific addition to this series.
