It’s one thing to Qualify… faced with a year-long journey in space, life in a wondrously alien environment, and many tough life choices, Gwen must decide who or what she will become. Fleet Cadet or Civilian? Friend or lover? Average or extraordinary?
Can she make new friends? Can she trust the old ones, such as Logan Sangre, her sexy high school crush and an Earth special operative?
Time and time again, Gwen’s uncanny ability to come up with the best answer in a crisis saves her life and others. And now, her unique Logos voice makes her an extremely valuable commodity to the Atlanteans — so much so that her enigmatic commanding officer Aeson Kassiopei, who is also the Imperial Prince of Atlantis, has taken an increasingly personal interest in her.
Before the end of the journey, Gwen must convince him that she has what it takes to compete in the deadly Games of the Atlantis Grail.
It’s becoming apparent — the life of her family and all of Earth depends on it.
COMPETE is the second book in The Atlantis Grail series.more
Great pacing, super plot twists and unputdownable, Vera Nazarian is a master story teller.
I enjoyed to main concept if the story but got uncomfortable with the intimacy scenes so stopped reading.
likable characters, must read the story it to the end (4 books)
Can’t wait till the next book is out!
I was amazed with the quantum physics behind some of the scenes in this book. It delighted me especially when she shared it with the reader and the way she shared the information made all the difference in the world (Book)
Not as good as the first book (Why is it that in trilogies the first and third are great, but the second is just blah?)
I’ve loved this series of books, but Compete is my favorite. Vera has a real talent for creating believable and relatable characters. I’m impatiently waiting for Survivor, the last book in the series.
After all of the stress of the 1st book in getting rescued it was interesting how the author thought up another method by which the heroine would need to be tested. Parts seemed a bit contrived and I still really liked the story. The characters are wonderful, and while I was confused as I tried to figure out if the main character was a whimp or if she really was a strong leader because her actions were in constant flux. Still, she had just left half of her family behind and all of her life, so I guess she gets a pass.
As you can tell, I’m critiquing the character, not the writing. That is how believable the characters in the story are. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Wow! I could read these books over and over! They are so informative and imaginative !! This lady must have an amazing imagination !!
I enjoyed reading this book.
The second book in an apocalyptic series about one young woman’s fight to win a competition which will earn her passage on a spaceship leaving Earth before a meteor hits.
The characters are dynamic and believable. The story has action and love interests. This is a fun, engaging book which has you quickly buying the next book to continue the adventure.
