The conclusion to the insanely popular Betrothed Series by critically acclaimed author Penelope Sky. Hades has done everything for the woman he loves. Now it’s time for Sofia to do the same for him.
I never broke the curse…I just changed it.
Now I’m forced into a partnership with Maddox, and since I can’t kill him, I have to tolerate him every day.
So Sofia leaves me.
I’ve sacrificed … me.
I’ve sacrificed everything for her, but it’s never enough. My love for her doesn’t change despite the betrayal. The torture continues.
What am I gonna do?
I have one option. I said no the first time, but I’m not sure I can say no again…

Loved the final part of this series!
This book made me feel so much!
I am sad to leave Sophia and Hades behind but I am glad they’ve got their happy ending! Hopefully they will show up in Damien’s series!
Would highly recommend!
Happy with the way the main character’s came together as they belonged together. Looking forward to the next book in the series even it will focus on different characters that have been introduced.
The fourth book in Penelope Sky’s Bethrothed Series. While this wasn’t my favorite book in the series, I still am glad to have read the ending of Sophia and Hades story. I would recommend to anyone who likes darker romance.
Hades has lost his wife, and gained a business partner in Maddox. Maddox the reason for Sophia leaving. After being raped by him and held captive, she thought is was the best way to protect herself and her baby. Hades is stuck between making Maddox happy to keep him away from Sophia and hating him for being the reason she is gone. But honor stands in the way of him killing him outright. Damien is pushed even further away, because Maddox thinks he’s weak. And even his brother is kept from the situation Everyone seems to get Maddox”s motivation but Hades, until he does! This was an excellent , With a surprising ending!
:
So this was the last book in the Betrothed Series by Penelope Sky and my very first read by her.
To be honest I was hooked from the beginning, Hades and Sofia were both complicated characters, but the chemistry between them was amazing. However, this book was kinda confusing.
It was really understandable the way Hades felt towards Sofia, I mean he did a lot for her but the minute things get rough she’s out of the door. It was selfish in a way but then when you see it in her perspective, it feels the right thing. She was pregnant and she was kidnapped and raped because of Hades.
He was a drug dealer so he had enemies, Maddox was the worst. What infuriated me was the fact that Hades always said that he was invincible, that he was the strongest and the most feared criminal of all. But then Maddox is in the picture and the next thing you know Hades is his little muppet. Like what the hell happened the strongest man?? Emm okay.
So now that Sofia left Hades to protect her baby, she is selfish and unfaithful, and Hades is the broken hearted man who sacrificed his life and freedom to save the woman he loved.
It was rinse and repeat. Literally. Hades blaming Sofia and Sofia blaming Hades, but what they really needed to do was to understand each other.
It turned out Maddox was gay and all what he wanted to do was get Sofia out of the picture to have Hades for himself.
Hades was a coward to me like okay I get it, Maddox threatened to hurt Sofia and his baby if he ever tried to kill him and failed. IF HE FAILED. Hades had countless opportunities to kill Maddox but HE DIDN’T. Like what the hell? But fortunately Sofia was brave enough to do it, but when it happened it was dull. Like you’ve been wanted to be free from Maddox and when it happens you have no reaction?
Hades is a very complicated character. As much as I liked him I hated him equally. He was too proud and stubborn, and the way he treated Damien was so fucking bad. The only reason Sofia was kidnapped was because of HIM but he kept blaming Damien.
I don’t know what to say, I mean I really loved this series but it would’ve been better if there were only two books, because the rest was nonsense.
So the never ending cycle of Hades begins by him being like she left me, it was the right choice for her safety but still she betrayed me.
“She did—for her and Andrew. But she still left me. She still abandoned me. That fucking hurts. She didn’t put space between us while keeping us together. She divorced me. She signed the papers and left.”
Honestly I get his point though. This man has done so much for Sofia and when it’s time for HER to show support she leaves him.
And Sofia, is acting like a sad heartbroken heroin when he isn’t being the same Hades as he was when they were married. Duh, again he did so much for you and you left him. You didn’t just distance yourself from him or took sometime for yourself, YOU DIVORCED HIM. Like he was the one who raped you.
”He used to drop everything for me. Now I wasn’t the most important thing in his life.”
”This break was so clean that it was emotionless. It was hard to believe we’d ever loved each other when he was so indifferent to me.”
Yeah that’s what DIVORCE does to relationships.
But the thing I still don’t understand is why Hades is not killing Maddox. Like he was this powerful guy and now his reasoning for not killing Maddox makes no sense. Basically if he misses while trying to get a shot, Maddox will go and kill Sofia and I understand that. The thing I DONT understand is WHY WOULD HE MISS HE LITERALLY STANDS RIGHT NEXT TO MADDOX DURING HIS WORK HE ONCE WAS A VERY POWERFUL MAN WITH HIS OWN RESOURCES SO WHYYYYYYYY.
He isn’t even letting Damien kill Maddox and is waiting for someone else to do the job. Okay.
Anyway we finally have Sofia confronting Hades about his behavior and I LOVE THE ANSWER HADES GIVES HER
Sofia: “Then why are you so cold?”
Hades “Because we aren’t together anymore. This is how I treat everybody else.”
Sofia”Well, I don’t like it.”
Hades: “Then you shouldn’t have left me.”
Sofia: “You have no idea how hard this has been for me. You have no idea how much I’ve missed you. You have no idea how much I hurt every day that you’re gone.”
Hades: “Then you could’ve stayed.”
Sofia: “You know I couldn’t…”
Hades: “That was your decision, and I respect it. You were doing the right thing for you and Andrew, and I get it. But let’s not forget that you abandoned me to the hellhole where I live. You get to start over with a new life. I don’t. You were a prisoner to Maddox…and now I’ve become his captive.”
Exactly what Sofia deserves. She is such a selfish character omg am I the only one who feels this way?
See now I understand why Hades has resentment towards Sofia but then when I read this
When Maddox took her and all hope was lost, I sacrificed myself in exchange for her freedom. I threw myself on the grenade so she could get away.
But she abandoned me.
I would’ve judged her if she stayed. In fact, I respected her for choosing herself and our son over me. But the darker side of me couldn’t stop hating her for it. I’d sacrificed so much for this relationship, and it made no difference in the end.”
I’m like WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING
IS THIS CONFUSING OR AM I JUST DUMB FOR NOT UNDERSTANDING IDK. Like you are angry with her for leaving but would have judged her if she stayed… what. My brain cells.
Okay so I know I’m supposed to brief up my review but I’m here giving you the LIVE experience of everything I’m reading okay?
So now after Sofia confronted him, says pass by and obviously Sofia being selfish wants to be more selfish and calls Hades screaming
“I told you to kill him, and you refused. If you aren’t going to do anything about it, then I have to move on. Don’t you dare judge me for what I did. If I’d never married you in the first place, I never would’ve been raped. You were supposed to protect me, but being with you has caused me more harm than if I were alone. I don’t regret being with you because I loved you, but I can’t be stupid and expect a future to be any different from the past. I have a son to think about now. And what kind of mother would I be if I didn’t give him the life he deserves?”
Okay yeah blame him for the rape as if he called Maddox and was like “hey you kidnapped my wife might as well get some action with her”
But I do agree with her with the killing Maddox part, I still don’t understand why Hades wouldn’t kill him.
The rest is her just being SEEELLLFFFFIIISSH. Like what did you expect when you were getting in a relationship with the mob or drug dealer? Everything would be happiness and sunshine? NO.
“So, don’t paint me out to be a heartless bitch that turned her back on you.”
Sofia you are. He doesn’t need to do anything.
So anyway they go back and forth again and Sofia kisses him and they have sex. But then Hades leaves the next morning because approximately it was a mistake. Now see the women you loved just fucked you she said she loves you and wants you to stay. So what else do you want Hades
The ending to this wild ride of Sofia and Hades ended. They battled to get this far. And this time it was Sofia battling for Hades. It was actually sad to watch Hades suffer without Sofia. He was broken. But love never fails. I loved how Sofia got justice against Maddox. It was very befitting. Once again, a great, entertaining series by this talented author. Can’t wait for Damien’s love story!
What more can Hades do for Sophia? There is only one. Let her go since she has asked for a divorce!
Life will totally change for both of them. A decision must be made. Do you pine away for the love you lost or do you make up your mind to move on?
If you ever lost someone you deeply love, you will understand all the emotions in this book. With a child about to be born, how can this couple regain the love that could have lasted a lifetime?
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
I enjoyed this ending.
When I started reading Committed, it felt so painful. A couple – Hades and Sophia, who love each other so much but could not be together. I love the two POV because it made it easier to see and understand how they were each suffering quietly.
As usual, Penelope Sky writes about strong female characters. Sophia really showed her strength walking away from a relationship to help herself and her unborn child. Then she fought her in order to have the family and the love of her life back.
Reasons I enjoyed reading this:
Interesting characters, romantic, twists, pager-turner, emotional read
I loved finding out how Hades and Sofia’s story ended. It took me a little more than a day to read this book. I couldn’t put it down! Penelope Sky is one of my favorite authors. If you haven’t read her other works, you need to!!
The wait for Committed was so worth it!
Hades and Sofia are back with the conclusion of their story. More angst, more heartbreak, Commited has it all and then some. It was so perfect and bittersweet and that ending…….tears!
My heart hurt for Hades and Sofia. After everything they had both endured to be together and in the blink of an eye, it’s broken. My heart strings were pulled a lot, on more than one occasion.
When I pick up a Penelope Sky book, I know I’m going to be enamored until the end. I get so invested in every character that she writes, sometimes even the bad guys. Her writing is like no other author I’ve read.
Wow this final chapter of Hades and Sofia is the best. It made me cry and laugh. Finally have their happily ever after. Sofia is such a strong woman having the guts to kill Maddox. Then fighting to get Hades back. I just couldn’t put it down loved it. Can’t what for the next series of Damian. I just feel sorry for him. If only Hades would forgive him. After Hades handed him the business I thought that would happen. Guess will find out in next series if he does. Loved it
finally the conclusion of Hades and Sofia story. This series is been a roller coaster on their relationship. Commited definitly the perfect ending for them. Lot more angst on Penelope other books, I cried, heartbroken, angry, lusting and fall in love with idea of love and soul mates all over again.
Bravo Penelope for your writing always gives me so many emotion
Another great book in the series. Must be read in order. The end of Sofia and Hades is here now.
Can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.
