Fifteen years ago, I saw him.Seven years ago, I begged him.Locked in a twisted game of friends, I gave Theo Von Bremen everything. We were reckless. We were dangerous. We were crazy in love. Until he came along. Cade breathed fire into my soul, forever changing my direction. He was my salvation. I was his redemption. He became my mission.I became his Commander. But where does that leave Theo?Exactly … Commander.
But where does that leave Theo?
Exactly where I want him.
On his knees.
Commander in Briefs is the first book in the stand-alone series, Commander in Briefs.

So this was a first read for me of this author and for her debut book it was a really great book. There were some things that didn’t quite make the mark for me but overall I loved the premise of what Anniston was trying to accomplish once she connected with Cade.
The part that I loved was Anniston trying to help out these Veterans that she comes to love and think of as family. I felt that for me this was the story.
Now I am a huge fan of erotic books and many are very dark erotica and in those books it works. Because of what Anniston was trying to accomplish I felt that the sex scenes were greatly out of place in this book and maybe it was the authors way of giving the readers what they usually want. Not only that, it made Theo come off as very childish not as an alpha male and very disrespectful to Ans although sometimes she was just as bad. I also couldn’t figure out what trope this would fall under: military romance, sports romance, romantic mystery, second chance, love triangle. There was a lot packed in here.
While I had a lot of mixed emotions about this one I still enjoyed it and cannot wait to see what’s in store for Cade.
Commander Review
Theo and Ans are a favorite of mine! I have read and reread them multiple times.
Theo is such a jerk but what I love most is Ans gives it RIGHT BACK Their chemistry is off the charts and the banter between all of the characters is phenomenal.
You have to read this book today! Kristy Marie is easily my new favorite one-click author.
This book had a lot going on in it. I enjoyed reading Theo and Anniston’s beginning in Pitcher, and was hoping for a good story to get them to their HEA. But some of the things I disliked about Pitcher were present here too. I have to admit, less than halfway through, I started skimming. There was so much to keep track of, with all the guys she brought in, with the twin brother and the friends who all wanted her and the fighting and flirting with Theo, the detailed sports stuff, the doctor stuff, the vets with PTSD and all their issues, and then the sex ring that they have to put an end to. It was… a lot. Too much.
Parts of it were enjoyable. I liked the suspense toward the end, but it also didn’t feel like it belonged in a sports romance. I liked Cade, and I do want to read his story, but I hope there isn’t quite so much going on. Some of the other characters were interesting, but I also lost track of who they were.
All in all, I will read the next book.
Holy Cow! What I though to expect out of this book was not what came about.
Anniston and Theo’s story continues and I have to say they have such a weird relationship. Definitely different but I can tell you it is entertaining. Their own level of immaturity makes me laugh. Theo isn’t my type of book boyfriend but he is perfect for Anniston.
Anniston, with her big heart of gold wants to take care of everyone. She really finds who she is outside of life with Theo.
I absolutely loved getting in the the heads of each main character with their own POV.
There are unexpected twists that were definitely out of left field when you think things are going normal. Completely catch you off guard.
My thoughts, my emotions were everywhere and the suspense kept me at the edge of my seat to see what happens next. I was completely captivated until the very end.
Some may not care for everything that goes on in this book but I for one fell hard and fast. It’s been awhile since I’ve been addicted to a series like I am with this one.
I highly recommend if you like Second Chances, stubborn tension, weird twists, possible love triangle, and suspense.
In this continuation story of Anniston and Theo, you are in for quite the ride! While Theo & Anniston’s dynamic is something unheard of, it is still wonderful, cute, and of course humorous! The nicknames/name calling they have for one another throughout the entire book has you cracking up left and right!
But wait there is more! This book isn’t just told from one POV, not two POV, but THREE POV and I loved it!
When Anniston finds Cade on the side of the road, my love for her character grew. She is entirely selfless – which she proved throughout the ENTIRE book for all of her six Marines and her favorite PITA. 😉
Anniston isn’t your average character… surrounded on all sides by testosterone, she still shows her affection to these guys to help them grow and become active members of society again. She knows what she needs to do to get any of those guys to do what she wants. She’s the perfect mama hen for some of them!
Cue Theo. Theo, Theo, Theo. He’s quite the character. He’s definitely a hot head and reacts before he thinks. But for being a hot head, he shows me throughout the book that he’s also a responsible adult. While he may fly off the handle at times, he is a smart guy. He just knows what he wants! Ans! She is ALL his and he is all hers, even though he doesn’t think she calls the shots!
While Theo can be temperamental, you can tell he loves that girl with all of his heart. It just would’ve been nice to see more of that sweet and romantic side of him throughout the book, rather than his asshole tendencies.
This book has some humor in it that I did enjoy as well. If you’re looking for a second chance story, with some feel good action, this baseball romance is for you!
It’s official, I’m now addicted to every word Kristy Marie writes. Aniston is just the most amazing heroine and I love her so much. Her take charge, take no prisoner, lady boss personality is my fave.
And holy fast balls Batman the chemistry between her and Theo is steamy AF. I love this series and this crazy cast of characters.
Amazing debut novel Kristy Marie! It’s one you won’t want to put down, loved the mix of Baseball meets Military! The story was awesome! I so loved Anniston she is feisty, strong and badass the Commander! Theo & Anniston have been friends forever, love their banter and they are crazy in love! What can l say about Cade his just adorable and all man and l get all swoony over Cade! All the characters were amazing though! I am looking forward to the next installment of Commander in Briefs!
I absolutely beyond words love this book! Kristy Marie did a phenomenal job with Command! This book was so angsty, it had me on the edge of the chair the entire time.
Theo and Anniston are an amazing read. I love everything about them. Their friends to lovers romance is everything I would want in a book and more. The roller coaster of emotions that is this book had me feeling all kinds of different things. I love these two as individuals and as a couple. Their strong friendship is the perfect start to their couplehood.
Kristy Marie created an amazing group of characters with this book. Not only Anniston and Theo but also all the side characters. Each and every person in the book brought something to the table. Everything about this book was perfect! The writing, the story, the characters, the multiple POVs we got in the book. I’m definitely hooked on Kristy Marie after this book!
What a sexy, somewhat wild love story spanning years! I fell hard for Theo and Ans in Pitcher so I just HAD to see their happily ever after to the end. I kind of dug how this book had a zig-zagging story-line, introducing a lot of characters into Ans and Theo’s life along the way. What I really like is that nothing actually broke Theo and Ans apart. Though there was some extreme tension with a dash of suspense/drama, their relationship evolved from best friends-with-benefits to each other’s everything. They didn’t go through the tell-tale break up and hate each other for a bit phase and it was refreshing. So yes, Theo is a d**k through and through. But honestly, he was perfect for Ans’ own hard-headed bishy nature. LOL. I’m really enjoying this series and will definitely keep reading. 4 stars for Commander!
Very Interesting right from the beginning until the very end. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. There was a lot going on with this one. But it does introduce you to all the different characters. The two main characters in this one are Theo and Anniston. These two have known each other forever. They are perfect for each other. But Anniston wants to give Theo her V card. Once they do that things between them change. They remain friends but Theo realizes that it isn’t enough. But then Anniston rescues Cade who is a Vet. Him and Theo don’t see eye to eye because they both love Anniston but realize that one loves her more than the other. Anniston ends up helping a lot of Vets. Which is how you end up meeting all the different characters. I absolutely loved the storyline. It was funny at times, serious at times, shocking at times and scary at times. Everything you want in a good book. I enjoyed reading this one and cant wait to read more.
This was a great read by a debut author. It was intriguing, and I really loved the characters!
This. Book. Oh my goodness.. Seriously I freaking loved this book so much!! It’s funny, serious, sexy, painful, heartbreaking, warm.. There are so many sides to this book.
I was able to read Pitcher before I read Commander so I had a background knowledge of Ans and Theo before going into this story.. If you don’t know what Pitcher is, it’s a prequel to Commander. It shows a little bit of the before. You don’t have to read Pitcher to read Commander but I recommend it.
Anyway, Theo and Ans are in a rare form of a relationship. Best-friends/f**k buddies/ whatever you want to call it, I love it. Their banter and back and forth had be clutching my stomach from laughing so hard.
Ans is a rare breed of a woman. She takes shit from NOBODY. 300lb bodyguard? Nope. Psycho path wanting to carve her up? Nope. Six marines who have seen and done unthinkable things? Nope. Theo Von Bremen? You bet your ass she isn’t take crap from him either. I love me a heroine that can bring a man to his knees.
Theo. Theo. THEO. My god, that man is a freaking wrecking ball. His wit, sarcasm, and assholiness (is that a word? Oh well..) made me fall head over head for him. The bigger the asshole, the more I love them. I don’t know what that says about me, but I absolutely loved Theo!
We can’t forget about Cade. That gentle giant.. I just wanted to hug him. I can’t wait to read Gorgeous. I want more of his story. There is so much we don’t know.. His war story, which woman was he talking about that killed his men? I loved Cade.
Kristy, you have gained a lifer! I loved this book so much! I can’t wait to read Gorgeous and Drifter! This book deserves al the stars and more!!
Which one does Anniston choose, the boy she loved since teenage years and the best friend; or the man she found on the side of the road almost frozen to death, Cade?
I quite enjoyed the little rivalry between Cade and Theo, it leads to interesting encounters and an enjoyable story.
I love this book and this couple is amazing to read about! Even after a reread I’ve found something new to love. My updated rating is 5
Commander In Briefs by Kristy Marie.
Well this book was different from anything I have read recently, if at all. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book and most of them are good. I will do my best not to spoil anything in this book. There are three main characters in this book who are Theo, Anniston, and Cade. There are also many secondary characters as well. You would think with a book having so many characters there would be confusion. There was not. This author wrote each character beautifully, with their own traits and I never felt like it was too much. It was entertaining for sure.
Theo and Anniston have been best friends since childhood but did not take their relationship further until the end of college. It was one night but it changed everything and not necessarily the way you may be thinking. I too had a lot preconceived ideas when diving into this book. I was mostly and pleasantly wrong, lol.
I admit that it took me a few days to get through this book because there was so much going on. I often had to put my Kindle down just to reflect. My emotions were all over the place. I was often frustrated, disappointed, angry, concerned and even sad. But for all of those negative emotions there was a lot that made me smile. A lot! I laughed a lot as well.
While there are three main characters this is not a love triangle nor a menagé. I admit after reading the blurb that I was worried that it would be a love triangle. I am not a fan of love triangles and I will avoid reading them. After a bit of research I found out that this book would be safe for me to read.
Commander In Briefs is not strictly a romance. While love is the main focus, there are so many other aspects we see. Theo and Aniston’s love for each other was beyond complicated. Add Cade to the mix and the complications get even more angsty. This book also has many secondary characters as I mentioned earlier. I would actually say this book has multi-tropes. There is romance, there is also suspense, second chances, best friends to lovers, post military, and I must add there are several triggers.
So I liked Aniston’s character for the most part. She was definitely not a pushover. I found her intelligent, caring, considerate, very loyal and passionate about helping people. That said, I wasn’t her biggest fan through a lot of the book. As a matter fact I hadn’t decided I liked her until the second half. Unfortunately I can’t explain why without giving anything away. As for Theo he was very possessive, protective, and an over-the-top alpha. SO OVER THE TOP! His love for Aniston was beyond intense. It was hard to tell whether he was obsessed or in love; some of the things he did we’re just crazy! But I can definitely tell you by the last pages of this book I absolutely believe he loved her. This author did a great job of convincing me of that. Theo is definitely a character I won’t forget anytime soon.
As for Cade, his character was also hard to read. He had a lot of post-war issues that broke my heart. He was a really good guy and I was rooting for him to heal and be happy. While he and Aniston had a very special and intimate relationship, it was not sexual. Again, I cannot say more without giving away the story.
As I said earlier there is a lot going on in the story; I am impressed how the author gave us a complete story with so many characters. All I can say is you will have to read this for yourself to know what I mean.
I absolutely loved the ending of this book! One of the best happily ever after’s I’ve ever read! I believe that Cade will be having his own story soon enough and I most definitely will be reading that.
That said, if you’re looking for an intriguing, intense and angsty romance featuring many characters and a few different storylines you will absolutely love this book!
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
I read the other two books in this series before I read this one and now I’m hitting myself for waiting so long to read CIB. I loved Ans and Theo! This book is hot and OMG I absolutely loved one scene where a certain someone is flipped off during a certain act but I won’t say anything more 😉 It had me cracking up though. I’m a baseball junkie so that helped me love this book too, but if you’re not into the sport, it’s not a huge portion and won’t ruin the book for you in any way.
I’m really enjoying this series and highly recommend all of them!
Friends from childhood, this couple couldn’t be more perfect together.
I love her and her big heart and everything she is doing to help the ones that need help when everyone else are failing them.
I wanted to smack Teo so many times over his head for being such a stupid guy and come upfront about his feelings from the beginning.
I can’t wait to read the next books and more even to see where their story goes to as I know I’m in for a treat.

Where do I even start?
This is Kristy Marie’s debut novel and I couldn’t be more impressed.
Beautiful and clever writing; it pulls you in from the get-go.
Anniston, Theo, Cade and “company” *wink – no spoilers*: I love these people!
They’ve become more than just characters in a book; they now hold a special place in my heart and will be on the back of my mind for a long time.
Anniston is refreshing; exhilarating. This is a heroine right here: the kind that makes you wish you too were strong, independent, funny, feminine while still hanging with the boys and, last but certainly not least, the kind that makes you want to be a smartass.
The full package. I love it.
Theo pushes all my buttons. The good ones and the bad ones.
I don’t know which ones I prefer and I truly don’t know how he does it.
He can shatter my heart to pieces and put it back together perfectly, like it was never broken to begin with… all in one paragraph.
AND he can turn me on and piss me off at the same time.
How is that even possible?
Well, he’s hot AF. That helps. A LOT.
Additionally, he really is a good guy.
Not that he cares what you think of him.
Sure, 97.8% of the people who know him wish they could just punch that proud (sexy) smirk right off of his face, but don’t let that be the basis for your judgment.
It just comes with the territory. Theo is unapologetic.
Anniston and Theo’s relationship is anything but conventional and I f*cking love it.
(Zero spoilers here either *insert evil smirk*)
It’s different from everything else I’ve ever read, specially what/how is explored in the first couple of chapters. I just wanted to be able to witness it first hand.
If this book ever becomes a movie I think I’ll die.
And audiobook? Please make it happen… I’m first in line to buy it. You know what I mean.
Considere me already there.
And Cade…. a man after my own heart. Kristy can I have him? Please. Early Christmas present maybe?
FINE. I’ll wait. But he’s mine. I called dibs on chapter 2 and fell in love on chapter 3. He’s that good.
Sweet, loving, caring and fiercely loyal. Did I mention hot, sexy, gorgeous…? Yeah, he’s gorgeous.
I’m aware that I’m miles away from being considered good at writing more complex reviews but in this case, I don’t think you need all the info.
Just jump in head first, zero preconceived ideas you might get from reading the blurb.
I had them too. It never felt so good to have the rug pulled from under my feet.
The word “surprised” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
In conclusion, all I wanted to say to you is that you NEED this book in your life; you just don’t know it yet.
And yes, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC but believe me when I tell you that it changes nothing.
I just got to read it before you, that’s all.
My love is unconditional.
I’m ready for anything that Kristy may have in store.
Yes, you can count on me, babe. I’m here for you.
Just got yourself a faithful reader and a fan.
You’re a rockstar.
Thank You.
