Myla Rose McGraw may be twenty, single, and pregnant, but she’s no damsel in distress. She doesn’t need a man. After all, her Grams taught her a thing or two about making lemonade out of life’s lemons. Then she meets Cash Carson. Reeling from a bad breakup, Cash has sworn off love. It led to nothing but pain and misery, and he’s determined to move forward alone. Until a redheaded Southern beauty … redheaded Southern beauty crashes into him. With her shopping cart. At the local Piggly Wiggly.
If love wasn’t for him, why did his heart beat a little faster every time Myla Rose sent that sweet smile his way?
He was no knight, and she didn’t need saving.
But damn if he didn’t want to try anyway.
COMING UP ROSES is a sweet, Southern fairy tale—with a twist.

I loved the book was so happy Cash and Myla Rose were able to get together and he wanted to be a father to her unborn baby.
All the swoon worthy southern charm! Loved the relationship between them and how he was always a southern gentleman! All the characters in the book are made to like, not just the main couple! Can’t wait to read the next book! Love the writing style!
This is the best love story book!! This book speaks to single moms in a awesome way!! LK Farlow did an amazing job.. Plus Mrs Farlow is an awesome person so it’s not surprising her books are just as awesome!!!!! I would recommend this series to anyone!!
I absolutely adored this story. I loved Myla Rose’s attitude and her determination to take care of herself. I loved Cash and all his swooniness when he wasn’t getting in his own way. There was a lightness to this story and a sense of humor. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.
This a sweet insta feel sort of romance with of accidental pregnancy. Both myla and Carson have come out of horrible relationships not expecting to bum into each other literally and feel a connection.
Both leave and cannot stop thinking of one another. Thinking they’ll never see each other again they continue life until Carson goes into a haircut to only be met by the beautiful myla. Every time you think everything is going well something keeps them apart. I kept fighting for them because they seem to fit each other.
This book will keep you on your toes, have you laughing, you’ll fan yourself but by the end you’ll have a massive smile on your face. I took a chance on a free book I recently added to my kindle because sometimes you need to break ARC reads and I’m so glad I did because this is my first book by this author and I know it won’t my last. I have KU’d the other two books in the series and I cannot wait until I dive into them.
3.5 Slow burn Stars
Coming up Roses by L.K. Farlow is my first book from this author. I came across it on Kindle Unlimited and liked the description so said I’d give it a go. It started off slow for me.
Myla Rose McGraw is a strong and sassy woman going it on her own after she gets pregnant and her no good boyfriend wants nothing to do with any of it.
Cash Carson has moved to this town after a very traumatic breakup. After he finds out his long term girlfriend has been cheating in him for half of their relationship, he decided to make a big move to be nearer his family.
This was a sweet read but it was also a very slow burner. Although loads happens within the first few chapters after that it slows right down. I wanted it to be so great but it dragged and left me wanting more. It had some interesting secondary characters that I know go on to get their own books so that might have me reaching for the second in the series.
I loved LK’s Rebel series so I thought I would check out her other books. Coming Up Roses appears to be her debut book and the first in her Southern Roots Series. I really enjoyed it, it was a sweet southern romance. A dash of angst with a whole lot of charm!
Myla Rose was on her own yet again but that wasn’t going to stop her. She was fierce, determined and could do anything she put her mind to. She didn’t need a man in her life, well, until she tried to run one over with her shopping cart.
Cash had just moved to be closer to family after a bad break up. He figured he would lay low and get back on his feet before figuring out the next chapter of his life. But when a woman came crashing into his life, would he be able to stop fate?
Cash and Myla Rose were very cute together, I felt myself smiling a lot. I appreciated Cash’s good nature and how his emotions proved he was human. I also loved the banter of Azalea and Drake! I can’t wait to read their story next!!
I’ve always felt that I was southern in another life, so I loved this story. I loved the close-knit friends. I definitely fell for Cash. Stepping up and not only claiming responsibility, but gifting his love to someone not of his blood. Family isn’t always typical and it can also be the love that we choose. It felt like kismet when 2 people who have gone through so much can find bliss at the other end.
I’ve read a few of LK Farlow’s recent books, but with the upcoming release of the boxset of bonus stories, I knew I needed to read the entire Southern Roots series.
Myla Rose – 20 and pregnant. The baby’s daddy, not interested. She could do this on her own. She didn’t need a man. Then she met Cash.
Everything Cash thought he knew for the last 7 years was a lie. He was done. And then he met Myla.
A sweet and sexy love story that will make your heart expand and your body swoon.
I enjoy a sweet romance as much as the next person and this was one. This is not a clean read and yeah if you don’t like bad language do not engage because there is plenty of it. While the language can be a put off the story is pretty basic if you can get past the attempt at the southern dialect. I know it sounds like I am picking at the story but what can I say. The characters and friends seem like a great group of folks so there’s plenty of fun and support as these two work through their baggage. He’s a sensitive sort so if you can’t handle man tears you wont like him, I found him adorable even if things caused him to be skittish (he redeems himself in the other books back to alpha/protector type of strong man). These two go from 0 – 100 in feels but are horrible at communication which means plenty of chaos and drama, long and drawn out. Which is great for those who are lovers of angst. In case you’re wondering I will be reading more since I do enjoy this author’s work.
Loved that the guy stuck up and defended the woman from her ex. My mind of book.
The story about Cash and Myla Rose was so heartwarming. Second chance loves are the best and always a feel good story.
I felt the characters were young to be dealing with a lot of stuff. The story was ok for a quick read.
The family you choose sometimes means more than blood
I may be working my way backwards but I loved the story of Myla Rose & Cash. So sweet, tender, funny, touching, passionate. He comes to Dogwood thinking his heart’s broken but he meets his true heart. Myla Rose feels like everyone leaves her. Cash is here to stay.
Did not care for it!
Myla Rose has had a rough time of it lately. She’s alone in her home, her grandmother died, she’s pregnant, and her ex-boyfriend denied the baby AND further humiliated her because he’s a jerk. THEN, she meets Cash. A man who runs hot and cold and who finally seems to even out with the hot…until she reads texts from his brother about how to get over his ex (yeah, they’re about how you’d imagine…dumb man advice).
Cash, on the other hand, isn’t having the best time either. His longtime girlfriend wasn’t as exclusive as he was and now she’s his ex, he’s moved to be closer to family and friends, and he keeps putting his foot in his mouth whenever the beautiful and sweet Myla Rose is concerned.
These two somehow manage to get beyond the bumps in their road and make it work, even with interfering ex-boyfriends, moronic brothers, and friends who mean well. I adored how Cash finally pulled himself together to prove that he and Myla Rose are worth a great HEA and I loved that Myla Rose didn’t just roll over and accept that Cash was sorry; she made CERTAIN before handing her heart and life back to him!
This book was heavy on the entertainment, humor, feelings, and great friends. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to see a strong woman prove that she doesn’t NEED the man, but she’s happy to have a better life with him.
It was a pleasure reading this book
I only read about 1/3 of this one … but when it came to not holding the father of her child responsible for fathering said child? That was just the first thing that I rolled my eyes over. Hello? Paternity test? Other characters were cliches. I didn’t have the patience to continue. Didn’t ring true – didn’t even come close.
Coming Up Roses is the debut novel from LK Farlow and I found the story of Cash Carson and Myla Rose McGraw to be a cute, sweet, fast read. Told in dual POV, which is my favorite way to read a story.
Cash and Mayla Rose are both reeling after their failed relationships and are still trying to pull their hearts out of the ringer they were placed in. I liked the chemistry these two had from the start and that neither was willing to just jump right into another relationship. They both had to work for it and learn to trust the opposite sex all over again. I loved the secondary characters as well, AzzyJo, Seraphine, Simon and Drake. Wish I had friends like that when I went through the same problem as Mayla Rose.
My two drawbacks on this story is the use of the words ‘kay and darlin’ on all most every page and I was hoping for some drama between Cash and Taylor. I mean if Cash was a real southerner there is no way he would allow Taylor to speak to Mayla Rose the way he did. Nope…not buying that.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and looking forward to more from LK Farlow.
Happily ever after. The best kind of read.
