This is the first book in the new Whiskey River Road series and it was absolutely amazing!! I Ioved it from start to finish. Clementine left Boone at the alter seven years ago and left town. She joined the Army, now she’s back at her Kentucky farm, with her friend Ethan, much to her father’s surprise. Boone is still working for her family, and he’s engaged. This story was fantastically written, the storyline flowed smoothly, and you won’t be able to put it down. It’s an amazing 5 star read, one I would honestly recommend to anyone. I can’t wait for the next book!
AMAZING!
A story that keeps you turning the pages and filled with so darn many emotion. The chemistry is sexy and a bit intense with an enjoyable storyline.
“She wanted more and I never wanted to leave this place.”
I couldn’t put it down ! Loved Clem Calhoun; she’s witty, stubborn funny and how mouthy ! From past mistakes, deception, grudge, family feuds, secrets and forgiveness; it’s all about what you’re willing to do for the ones you love. To stay even when you’re not welcome just so you can make amends. Clem made me laugh so hard; I had to read this all the way through to find out what she had hidden up her sleeve. The Calhouns are a strong pig headed loveable bunch. Boone found a family and a woman he won’t ever forget. Let’s see what the next in series will bring !
OMG OMG!! This was an awesome book!! This is the first book I have read by Kelly Moore and I loved it!! This story was about Clem Calhoun leaving Boone Methany at the alter seven years ago and the feud between the Calhouns and the Maynards. Clem joined the Army and grew up. Clem returns home in Kentucky and brings her friend Ethan with her. Her dad comes out the door and picks up his rifle and points at Clem and Ethan and tells her that she and her friend need to leave as he has not forgiven her for leaving. Clem says she is not leaving and her father told her she and Ethan could stay in one of the cottages and Clem sees that it had not been taken care and was in really bad shape. Clem has 2 brothers and a sister. The one brother Bear has a daughter and she is so sweet. One brother does not welcome Clem with open arms. Her sister Ellie has changed so much and Clem is surprised at how much she changed. Boone has been hurt, but, is still at her family home working as he loves her family. Clem finds out that Boone is engaged to be married but, his fiancee’s father Tom Maynard is such an evil man. He has a lot of hate in him towards Clem’s dad. Tom cause’s a lot misery and heart ache for his daughter and the Calhoun family. Boone finds out the real reason why Tom wants him to marry his daughter and Tom makes some threats against the Calhoun family. When bad things start to happen at the Calhoun ranch all of the Calhoun’s stick together to fight the battle between the Calhoun’s and Maynard’s. Want to find out how everything turns out?? Well you really need to read this book to find out. This is a must read book!! I can’t wait until the next book comes out!!
That was beautiful!!!! I hope we don’t have to wait to long for book 2. I need answers asap! Coming Home was an emotional story for me. I had just went through what Clem did and its been hard. But Kelly knows how to the heal the heart with her words. The Calhoun’s are a strong family and will make it. They have proven it so far. I hope Clem and Boone’s story isn’t over.
Cleme and Boone……… Wow what a story. I want to write so much but don’t want to give to much away. The two main characters have such history. But Cleme left Boone at the altar to join the army. Now she’s come back home to make amends. Not only with Boone but with her family.
This book will peak and keep your interest. I laughed so hard and flipped pages faster than my kindle could keep up with at times. Kelly Moore introduced me to some new terms and a different way to look at saran wrap! My only complaint is I want the next one already.
Here we go, Kelly Moore, has sunk her proverbial hooks into me again! With book one in a new series Whiskey Road so far; I love every tortured, frustrating, smexy, swoony plot wisted moment of it!
Oh my, where do I begin?
Clementine left her family ranch to find herself, and escape all the darkness that was closing in around her. Leaving a fiancee at the alter and a stunned, hurt bunch none the wiser as to why.
Years go by, prides still stinging, Clem returns home to mend hearts and fences, what else she finds… well let’s just say it was more than she had ever imagined.
I have a soft spot for every one of these characters! ( even if I did want to yell at a couple of them to get off their high horse <-- Ha!) A masterfully blended drama, with fantastic family humor, great banter, shenanigans, downtimes that made me teary, highlights that made me smile, and goosebump-inducing roller-coaster moments. GAH- its wonder why Clementine, all abs Boone and the rest of Calhoun's, quickly stoled my heart and have me ready for more!
I had read a couple of Kelly’s other books and enjoyed them so I could not wait to give this one a try and it was a pretty good read. This is the first book in the series and I will admit it had me laughing out loud that much my kids thought I had lost the plot. It was a really good book and I will be looking out for the next one.
What a fantastic start to the Whiskey River Road series. I couldn’t read this book fast enough, lol. This is the second chance story about Clem and Boone. Clem bolted seven years ago, on her wedding day, no less. Now she’s back, but Boone isn’t available. He’s dating the neighboring ranch’s owner’s daughter, Margret Maynard. Tom Maynard has an agenda and you won’t believe the lengths he will go to. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say if you love an emotional read that gives you a side of horse racing, you will love this book. I can’t wait for the next book. I need it now, lol.

I absolutely loved this book. Some of the pet names are just laugh out loud funny. I loved that this was more than a romantic comedy. It is the first in a series and I can’t wait until the next book comes out.

When clem and her best friend Ethan go to her home town of Kentucky after 7years in the military and after running away from her home and the love of her life on her wedding day. She back to take back everything she lost, but she going to have to fight for it all and fix the trust she broke. I love this story.
Received an ARC of this book. Once again Kelly Moore does not disappoint. Loved this storyline and looking forward to the upcoming books in the series. This book will make you laugh, make you cry, make you mad, and leave you hanging. What more could you ask for in a story? Learned a lot of new words for body parts and discovered a new use for Saran Wrap. It is a must read!!
This new series by Kelly Moore is going to phenomenal. Sure it is only book 1 but I was hooked from the first chapter. We have Clem who was raised on the ranch and a horse trainer. She was in love with Boone whom she was set to marry. On her wedding day, she felt trapped and became a runaway bride. Left her family behind and joined the Army. She comes back to the ranch after 7 years with her best friend Ethan. She tries to fit back in at the ranch. She wants to make amends to her family and to Boone. Boone, the man she still loves and left at the altar. As they both figure out what they want. Her father’s nemesis is trying to get the Calhoun Ranch. He tries any means to get it including hurting the family.
This story had my heart strings. I cried, laughed and got angry at parts. I was very emotional involved in this story which to me is a great story. So.. I recommend adding this book to your collection to read, you won’t regret it!
Excellent! The story was great, the characters were really strong and the book was well-written. Couldn’t ask for better. I couldn’t put it down. Just like life, so many ups and downs. I couldn’t go to bed until I knew the family, and Clem, was safe so I read it straight through to find the HEA. I laughed out loud and I cried…. good job Kelly Moore!!
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review.
What a way to start a new series!!
Absolutely amazing book! I loved Boone & Clem & the entire Calhoun family. I’m so excited to see what happens next.
Wonderful Story & Audible Listen Captivating & Heartfelt!
Coming Home
Whiskey River Road, Book 1
By: Kelly Moore
Narrated by: Sera Sharr
This book not only wowed me but it blew me away, once I started it I did not want to put it down, I needed to know what happened next. Kelly Moore is a gifted author, she creates stories and characters that are realistic and easy to relate to. I love that her books does not just grab your attention it captivates it too and “Coming Home” is no exception. The characters are complex and well developed, Clementine “Clem” Calhoun ran away from her life on the ranch, her family and her fiancé, she joined the army and served for seven years. After hearing that things are not so great on the ranch she decided to head back home, bringing Ethan, her army buddy along with her. There is no welcoming party for her, her father, brother Wyatt and fiancé are still pissed at her for leaving. But she does not back down and I admired her for that. Clem left Boone at the altar almost 8 years ago, she broke his heart and it took him years to finally move on, unable to love another he just settled for a woman who loved him, Margret Maynard, from the neighboring ranch. Boone still lived and worked on the Calhoun Ranch, he purchased a race horse and is training it to be a triple crown winner. Before she left Clem also trained horses, like Boone, she was one of the best trainers. She wants to help train his horse “Whiskey River” but he is not so forgiving and doesn’t let her in. I love the sacrifices he winds up making and how everything plays out in this book, there is a natural and beautiful flow to the story and it contains a whole lot of heart. It is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, some mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, twists and turns that keeps you one your toes, heartfelt moment, heartbreaking ones and a second chance of love. I loved that we see forgiveness in this book, hated that we see evil too but that is life and it shows you what lack of forgiveness and vengeance does to a person, Tom Meynard is the perfect example that. Kelly Moore, thank you for this brilliant story, the great dialogue and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sera Sharr is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. She did an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. The characters sounded just as I pictured them to. She was a natural at handling the great dialogue as well as that country twang. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she captured and projected the characters emotions into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fabulous listen
A very good red. Wonderful characters. Had d to put down. I really loved this book.
Wow! What a way to start a new series. Kelly Moore knows how to pull at the heart strings and draw a reader in from the first page. I Ioved it from start to finish. Clementine left Boone at the alter seven years ago and left town. She joined the Army, now she’s back at her Kentucky farm, with her friend Ethan, much to her father’s surprise. Boone is still working for her family, and he’s engaged. This story was fantastically written and the storyline flowed smoothly. You won’t be able to put it down, I know I couldn’t. I can’t wait for the next book, I need answers! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

This is a great start to a new series but I need the next book so I know what happens. Yes Clem and Boone get their happy for now, but I need to know about the rest of the Calhoun family and if they get to keep the ranch. The characters are all great and the story keeps moving right to the end. The story is funny, sad, steamy and heartwarming.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters and still manage to make romance feel so fresh!
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in a wee bit of drama and you have a good read.
