Salt Lick, Kentucky. Prodigal child Clem Calhoun is home to beg for forgiveness. Because she knows sooner or later, she’ll … sooner or later, she’ll come face-to-face with the ranch hand she dumped at the altar.
Boone Methany has never gotten over being jilted. But despite his pain, his unwavering loyalty to the Calhoun family keeps him under a greedy neighbor’s threat: marry his daughter, or he’ll burn Boone’s adoptive cattle station to the ground. Yet his protective plans are thrown off-kilter when Clem rides back into his life and sparks start to fly.
Sitting across from Boone every week at Sunday dinner has Clem wondering why she ever walked away. And torn between his new fiancé and his former flame, Boone’s mind is at war with his heart.
Trapped beneath layers of secrets, can they confess their true desires?

I’m so looking forward to this serie. The start with Clem and Boone couldn’t be better. Their interaction were sparkling. Missy was also a quite one, that I want to know a little bit more about and of course about her father.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Who here loves a hot cowboy romance?
Yep, that’s what I thought.
Then you are definitely going to want to read “Coming Home.”
This is a second chance love story, with a fude to rival the Hatfield and McCoy’s with a happy for now ending.
Happy Reading:)

Clem left everything behind when she fled the church on her wedding day. She felt trapped and wasn’t ready to settle down with what her current life had to offer. She joined the military, made new friends and grew up. Now the time has come to return home. She knows she’s not getting a warm welcome but maybe she can be a part of her family again. Will they let her back on the ranch and into their lives?
Boone knew that she wasn’t happy but he never thought she’d leave him standing at the altar. He wanted nothing more then to be her husband but instead she crushed his heart. Now he has finally moved on and things are looking up for him. He’s training an amazing horse who has the ability to win the triple crown. The moment she walks into the door all of his old feelings are coming back. He thought he was over her but can you really get over the one who never really left your heart?
Clem knew that she crushed the hearts of her family and Boone but she didn’t see any other way. She loves being back on the ranch and she used to be a skilled horse trainer. Clem wants to start her own business in cybersecurity and work on the ranch. She knows she has a long way to go to heal everyone’s heart but she’s willing to do whatever it takes. Clem is a spitfire and I loved her wild ways. She always comes up with the weirdest names for certain bodyparts and this made me laugh out loud so many times. Even though she ran away I couldn’t help but love her all the same.
Boone is a respectable man who works hard and does what he believes in. When he makes you a promise he’ll hold on to that no matter the costs. Boone is every womans dream and I fell in love with this kind and hardworking cowboy straight away. The chemistry between Clem and Boone is off the charts and you could almost feel it buzzing of the pages. I loved reading about the ranch and the animals. I’ve always lived in the city but stories like Coming Home makes me long for a life in the country.
In Coming Home there’s never a dull moment. Kelly Moore has so many tricks up her sleeve that she kept me on the edge of my seat. Kelly Moore’s writing style is brilliant. Every time I read one of her books I’m thinking she can’t write a better one, but then I pick up her next story and it turns out she manages to outdo herself every time. Whenever I start reading one of her stories it’s hard for me to put it down. I just want to keep on reading until the very last page. Kelly Moore is one of my favorite authors and I highly recommend any book that she has ever written.
What a captivating new book from Kelly Moore. Clem and Boone were high school sweethearts and the day of their wedding, she runs out of fear and insecurities. Now seven years later Clem is home and ready to make amends. Boone has loved only one woman in his life but she left, unfortunately not that she’s back and those feelings have returned, he’s being blackmailed into keeping a promise. Coming Home is a must read filled with so much heart, raw emotion, secrets, blackmail, family, loyalty, heartache, a protective alpha male who will do anything for the family he loved and a smart, kind hearted woman who loves her family, passion, and love. This is a must read readers will fall in love with. I absolutely loved reading this book.

Clem had her whole future mapped out and that including marrying the man she loved Boone. On the day of her wedding day she left them both devastated when she left him and her hometown behind.
Seven years later she realizes that it is time for her return home, but things are not the same and not everyone is happy to see her. Boone has moved forward with his life but is the love they shared just a memory or will this be their second chance?
This story takes you on an adventure filled with suspense, twists and all the feels. Not only are Clem and Boon great characters but the secondary characters draw you in as well. This is a great start to the series, and I am looking forward to the next book.

Coming Home Book 1 Whiskey River Road
By Kelly Moore
5 Stars
“Boone isn’t ready, and I don’t blame him. Just because we’re not married doesn’t mean we love each other less. Actually, I didn’t think I could love him more, but every day I fall for him over and over again. That man keeps me weak in the knees.”
What an amazing terrific story! So many emotions. Absolutely love the characters and the plot.
Very highly recommend!! Absolutely can not wait for the next book in the series!
ARC for honest review with no compensation
Coming Home is book 1 in the new series Whiskey River Road by Kelly Moore and OMG what a way to begin this series!!
Clementine “Clem” Calhoun, former military is returning home to the Kentucky Horse ranch she ran away from 7 years prior and to Boone, the man she left at the altar…she knows there will be no open arms or a welcome home but if she discovered one thing while she was away it was that the family ranch, training racehorses and Boone are where she truly belongs. That is until she finds out that Boone has moved on and is now engaged…
Boone Methany, horse trainer, rancher on the Calhoun spread and now an engaged man never expects to see Clem, the girl who left him literally at the altar on their wedding day but when she returns to the ranch the feelings he buried return to he is determined to move on with his life.
What happens next will have you laughing, crying, exasperated, guessing at the secrets, turning pages to find out what happens next, and an underlying story that looks to play out over the other books in this series! Can’t wait for the next book!!
This is the first book in the Whiskey River Road series. I gotta say, this is the longest book I have read in awhile (over 400 pages!) but it didn’t feel like it. Meet Clementine and Boone, they were in love, engaged, even made it to the wedding day when Clem up and left, ran away. It has been seven years and now Clem is coming home but what in the world is she coming home to? This well written story contains all the details and emotions of Clem’s journey from the past to what she hopes to be her future. Will Boone give her a second chance? Enjoy the roller coaster ride of Clem and Boone. I am anxiously waiting for more to this series.

A great runaway bride book, about love lost, finding yourself and coming home to rebuild and realizing that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Heartbreaking and emotional…
Coming Home is the first book in the new Whiskey River Road series. This is a wonderful read, heartbreaking and emotional. The characters are well developed and it is the past that made them the people they are today. Would Clem and Boone have had a successful marriage if she had not run away? The story is well written, with drama, sorrow, humour, family, redemption, and love.
I am looking forward to reading more in this new series.

A new series called Whiskey River Road a well written story, this is Boone and Clem’s second chance I enjoyed reading.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Who says you can’t go home again? That’s obviously not true for Clementine (Clem) who performed a runaway bride and left her family behind 7 years ago. Sure, her father pulls a gun on her and her extremely hot ex fiance is getting married. Life on the ranch can be good again, right?
I am never disappointed at how Kelly Moore takes me in one direction and then rips the rug right out from under me. I love it! Every now and then a love story needs to invoke a few tears. Some of her other stories have made me downright ugly cry. Even though Clem and Boone’s story takes some interesting and sometime frustrating turns, it’s definitely worth it!
5 stars!!!
I have been reading Kelly’s books since the beginning and she always amazes me with her stories. Coming Home touch my heart in so many ways. It’s second chance romance which is something I love when done right and Kelly did just that! Chem is back home after leaving Boone at the altar 7 years ago. Boone’s life has a new direction now and Clem is about to find out just how welcome home she is. Can she win her love ones back? All the characters are amazing. This book hooked me from page one and now I’m trying to patiently wait for the next one.
This was a pretty good read. Boone and Clem a good together, they make or could make a temporary. While this doesn’t end with a typical cliffhanger, it’s not the end. What is Tom’s evil plan and how will it play out in subsequent books.
Fabulous!
What an exciting but gut-wrenching story! Clementine makes the heartbreaking decision to leave – leave her home, her life and her fiancé. Boone is at the altar, and she doesn’t show. Clem stays away for seven long years. She joined the military, grew up and now, she’s come back home.
This story is full of heart-wrenching anguish, stubborn people and true love. Clem knows it’s time to come back home to the family ranch and to make amends, as best as she can, with the family she left behind. She knows it’s not going to be easy, her father is a very stubborn and demanding man. It will be difficult to earn everyone’s trust again. Then there is Boone, the man she left at the altar, the man she still loves, but he has moved on.
Intense and full of twists and turns, hurt and desperation, this story grabs your heart and takes you on a wild ride! You can feel Clem’s anguish over her father’s attitude and Boone’s rejection. She just wants to take her place in the family and show them she is an asset to the ranch and the race horses.
You get all the feels with this one and you get to go to the races! I love all the pomp and circumstance of the racetrack, the outfits and the betting. I found this part to be very entertaining. Very well written and attention to detail. A complete joy to read. I loved it!
A splendid work!
I could not put this one down the characters were just splendid when you can love and hate in the same story it shows how in-depth the author has written them. There is a mix of emotions in this story too from humor to pain Kelly Moore is such a gifted author. I cannot praise this work enough and it is a work I highly recommend you will be happy if you have it in your book collection. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Clementine Calhoun shattered the love of her life’s heart and detached herself from her family when she ran from the alter 7 years ago.
Boone Methany finally moved on, after years of trying to recover from the heartbreak and devastation he experienced that fateful day.
Can their relationship rekindle, or is it beyond repair?
Author Kelly Moore has an amazing way to pull you into her story and make you feel the characters’ feelings. I sobbed at parts and literally felt my heart ache for the characters. The way her words flow through this storyline will keep you immersed so deeply that you will have a hard time separating your real life from the family of Whiskey River Road.
This story is absolutely incredible. The characters…gah! All of the characters are so dang perfect! From Clem’s siblings (Bear, Ellie, and Wyatt), niece Missy, her dad and mom, her army buddy/best friend (Ethan), Margret, Margret’s father…geez! Just such a brilliant blend of characters!
While reading Coming Home: Whiskey River Road, Book 1, you will experience love and heartbreak, friendships, horses/horse racing, hard feelings and love of family, conniving and backstabbing…I felt this book so deeply and personally that I struggled to rejoin my “real life” after finishing it. Solid 5 stars from me!
This is a fantastic start to the Whiskey River Road series. I could not put this book down. Who needs to sleep when you are so into a book!! This is the second chance story about Clem and Boone. Clem ran from him years ago but now fate has brought them together again. Will it be love? Is it ever too late to find your true soulmate? Will their pasts, secrets, and the feud between families keep them apart? Get your copy to find out. No spoliers here. The characters pull you in and do not let you go until the last word has been read. I find myself still thinking about this book even now. It is a must have book!!! One for your library! I I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from the author. I can not wait for the next book in the series!!! I would give this one more than 5 stars if I could.
