Previously, Her Boss
Joshua is back in Honey Grove. As a divorced, single dad, he’s decided that love is the last thing he needs.
Beth is back in Honey Grove after losing her job and getting dumped.
When Josh’s mother, the town’s busy body, arranges for Beth to be his nanny, Josh decides to go along with the plan.
Even though Beth is no longer the lanky girl next door, Josh isn’t looking for a relationship anyway. He can keep her at a distance. Right?
Everything seems to be working out until their relationship deepens and their arrangement isn’t enough anymore.
Too bad her feelings for Josh isn’t Beth’s only secret.
If you love a one-of-a-kind romance with swoon-worthy heroes and toe-curling kisses, you’ll love Coming Home to Honey Grove.

Two troubled souls and lots of angst make up this sweet, clean romance. Some good side characters and the H and h are totally likable people.
One loose end regarding an ex-wife and custody requests, but it’s not vital to the plot that the reader know what the H decides. (Maybe there will be mention of it in one of the other books in the series?)
The narrator is good! She starts out each alternating-view chapter with a higher voice or lower voice to make it easy to guess which POV that chapter is from.
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
Loved the story. It seemed like a lot for Beth to keep her Mom’s secret, but she did her best which caused her to sacrifice her own hopes. Thankfully, in the end, it all worked out. A sweet, clean, enjoyable Read!
This is the first one in the Braxton Brothers series. This is also my first read by Anne-Marie Meyers.
The narratoration was very well done. She brought the story alive by changing her inflection based on which POV she was reading. Her voice was easy to listen to and drew me into the story.
The story was a very sweet romance about a girl in love with the boy next door. Fast forward several years, when she came home after being dumped by her fiance just to find Josh also came home due to a nasty divorce. they go through the awkwardness of becoming reacquainted. Plus, Josh has an adorable little boy that provided the glue for the story. The story moved right along until the secret Beth kept from him threatened to destroy their fragile relationship.
It was definitely a sweet feel-good story with a HEA. Thank you to the author for this audiobook. I am going to look for the next ones on Kindle Unlimited.
An amazing heartwarming second chance friends to more romance. This engaging storyline had me addicted from the first chapter till the last page was turned. I am excited to read more standalones of the Braxton brothers series. This clean standalone romance was fun and entertaining while it touched my heart with angst, trust issues, and love as these two reluctant people tried to stay professional guarding and navigating their growing feelings thru an incredible journey of secrets, interference, working with one another, and matchmaking. The characters were interesting, well developed, and full of undeniable chemistry. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this ARC that had great storytelling thru narration. The narrator has really done a good job thru voice variations that really brings the characters and story to life.
Josh moves back to his childhood home with his son Jordan after Josh’s wife leaves them for Josh’s former work partner. Beth is out of a job and needs a new one to help pay for her mom’s medical bills. When Josh is in need of childcare, Beth is the perfect candidate for the job. Second chance sweet romance. Great story.
As expected from this author, so VERY well done!
The characters, pacing, storyline were all fantastic!
Oh, what a pickle Beth found herself in. Rather than try and work something out she tries to distance herself from whatever it is that may or may not be happening with Josh…. I like that each thinks they are imagining something there and are surprised when someone else points it out.
This was a great sort of second chance love story. Beth and Josh grew up across the street from each other, but never really knew each other wel, Beth was buddies with Josh’s younger brother, Jonathan. Each coming home years later to nurse their broken hearts and bruised self assurance.
I enjoyed the easy flow between the two when they could get out of their own heads and enjoy themselves without second guessing themselves and each other. I don’t know about anybody else, but I can really relate to that! I admit I cried a bit, but it was a very good story.
I received an ARC for this book, and am choosing to share my thoughts on it with others.
Beth and Josh both have issues they are dealing with, and each of them are guarding their hearts because of past relationships. Her Boss is a sweet second chance romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy.
This was a wonderful story. I did enjoy it. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. There were some parts that left me frustrated but that is a good sign that the author is bring out emotions in a reader. Beth was keeping a secret about her Mother (at her Mom’s request). Josh comes home after a divorce with his five year old son Jordan. This story is the re-connection of two people who grew up together as neighbors.
This book is full of angst and heart-felt emotions. This is a clean read that will touch your heart. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. This is a wonderful family that you will want to read.
Joshua Braxton had returned to Honey Grove after a nasty divorce to recover and raise his young son, Jordan. He and Jordan were living in his parent’s garage apartment for now and he was working for his dad’s construction company. But, when his mom announced that she couldn’t watch Jordan like they had planned, Joshua turned to Beth, his childhood friend who lived across the street. She was several years younger than him and she had once pledged her undying love to Josh. Now, Beth was all grown up and nursing emotional hurts of her own. Neither of them were interested in any more romantic interests but the draw between them was hard to resist. Was it possible to have something wonderful? Was it possible to share the secrets they each had to expose their vulnerability?
This was a clean, sweet romance that was a very enjoyable read. The characters were well developed and the story was about healing, trust and learning to love again. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review.
Wonderful story.
I have quite a few books by Anne-Marie Meyer! This is a sweet, clean read.
This is a sweet friends to lovers/second chance romance. Both Josh and Beth have been badly hurt in the past, but they find peace with one another. This is a fun story with a sweet little boy, a meddling mother, a spoiled acquaintance and a sick scared mother that bring humor and frustration to this story. I like the Braxton family and am excited for this new series.
What a beautiful, touching story of love and hope following heartache and also a story of reconnecting with family. The characters are so real that you can feel their happiness and sadness too. I loved the girl next door theme between Josh and Beth after ten years have past and they have both had to move home and move on after their hearts have been broken. I am excited that there are five Braxton brothers because that means there should be four more books in the series! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This wasn’t your typical nanny falls in love with the boss book IMO. Beth had a crush on Joshua years ago. They are both back home for different reasons. Sparks fly between these two but will they be able to be together? A really sweet romance but also a story about family hurts and what problems secrets can create. Looking forward to book 2.
Her Boss is a fun, heart warming romance that captivated me from the first chapter. Josh and Beth were so well portrayed that I could not put the book down. Between Beth’s mom wanting to keep her cancer a secret from everyone and Josh’s mother playing matchmaker, you get a well written plot that will keep you turning the pages to see how this comes out. This is a clean romance that I highly recommend.
Contemporary romance is my favorite genre and Joshua and Beth’s story pulled me in. This was a book I read in one sitting and I’m looking forward to reading more of The Braxton Brothers series. Josh is a single dad that recently went through a divorce. Beth has returned home to take care of her mom, after her boyfriend breaks things off. She’s always had feelings for Josh, but will her promise to her mom come between them?
