Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December
By: Jane Suen
5 out of 5 stars
The story Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is the continuing story of Connor Norton. It tells about those he spends time with when he comes home for the holidays. This book is such an emotional one and I found myself with misty eyes at times and a smile on my face at others. It is a story that will pull you in from the very beginning and you won’t want to put down until it is finished. I found myself thinking about the book and characters even after I had read the last page. It is such a joy to read about Connor, Alana, Dottie, and Mary Ann. The author has weaved a story that you feel in both your heart and soul. What do the holidays have in store for the characters? Read this book to find out. This is an amazing tale that you don’t want to miss out on. I highly recommend reading it.
Coming Home is the second book following Flowers in December and this is a wonderful follow up for Book 1. The author gives us the feeling that we are there with all the characters. So many feeling of confusion , hurt , anger , joy, grief, happiness, and more. J. Suen has written 2 books that give us the feeling of being there with Connor, Mary Ann, Alana , Ron , their hopes and dream. A short read for me but I felt as if I could step into the coffee shop for a quick coffee or into Mary Ann’s flower shop to check it out. It’s not for me to quick away anymore of the book but suffice it to say this is book that hits home in more ways then one. I certainly enjoyed it.

In book two its has been 4 months since Conner left for the city with Tom. Its Christmas eve and all Conner wants is to spend time with Tom and just grieve for his mother when he runs into the estranged daughter of his mom’s neighbour, Alana who is back in town to heal the rift between her and Dottie. Mary Ann has it going on right now her floral shop is doing great and she want more but the one she wanted has left her for 4 months and she is moving on . Here is to hope love and second chances .
The characters in the second book are getting better They don’t come off as naïve as they did in the first book . Also other characters are up front and taking charge in this book . Alana is the young girl from next door but she has had a hard past so you can feel it. and Mary Ann actually has a big part in this book also . She is torn between two men , the man Ron who was around for as long as she can remember and the man, Conner who just up and left her . You really see her grow in this book .
The author ties this story in with the wonderfulness of Christmas .I will say I did like this story a lot more then book one . Yes there is a but coming , I just wish the author would evolve the characters more . There is so much more that the author could do with the characters and also the Christmas season . I did like the story line and I do love Christmas . This is a very fast read good for the beach so if you want a fast read check it out .
Coming Home by Jane Suen was a beautiful but emotional book. It’s a great length for a Friday night read! We get to see the continuation (four months later) of the 2 main characters Connor and Mary Ann. This book also introduces new characters to the story and has multiple POVs. Even though it’s set in the winter time around Christmas I feel like it would be great any time of year. Jane Suen has done an outstanding job writing this book!
Coming Home by Jane Suen is the sequel to Flowers in December. The second installment was just as good of read as the first. This book had such a heart warming story. Small towns and going back home are always my favorite reads. I couldn’t put it down. These are some of my favorite characters in a long time, and I hope we get to see more of them in the future. I really like this author and can’t wait to read what this author writes next. I give this book a solid 5 stars.

He has come back to his hometown during the Christmas holiday, after grieving the loss of his mother. Tom, Connor’s mom’s cat, has been helping him during the grieving process. This story picks up four months after the first book (Flowers in December) ends. Our characters go through so many changes from the first book. These characters continue on their journey of life dealing with change, growth, grief, and love. I loved reading more about our characters and meeting others. I have to admit that I am a bit upset with Connor, and his failure to communicate with loved ones. I was happy to read more about these characters!
This novel was really beautiful and sweet i was captivated but that didn’t surprise me the author writes in such a magical way i knew as soon as i started this story i would be completely lost in the words. The journey was so enjoyable i got so caught up in their world i just couldn’t set it down. I love that it has that cozy Christmas feeling while reading it, it do take you on a incredible journey full of love, happiness, sadness and forgiveness. I certainly can’t wait to read more!
COMING HOME The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen

Indecisive people make me twitch. Lie make up your mind. These are life altering decisions here people. Not just where you want to eat. But who could possibly share your life with forever. Conner had me irritated through most of the book. Mary Ann was a little flighty to me. Ron moved too slow. I did like the message Connor tried to get everyone to see. He knew that family was important and that with a little help misunderstandings could be fixed. The author did a great job with bring the lives of the characters together. Shining a spot light on forgiveness.
Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen has us catching up with Connor. He moves back to his hometown after he quits his job after the death of his mother. There so much that happens just after he gets back into town, including reconnecting with a neighbor after a significant amount of time.
Connor still doesn’t seem to have all of his timing in life back but he’s slowly getting there. But as anyone who has lost someone special the first of everything is the hardest and this is Connor’s first Christmas without his Mama.
I’m hoping to see more of Connor and to see if his timing with a young lady improves to the point of being in tune.
I have enjoyed the series so far even if there are some down parts.

This story picks up a few months after Flowers in December end, and takes us further into Conners journey after his mom’s passing. He is trying to honor his mom’s memory by going back home. There is hope, forgiveness, new and old friends. This is a sweet story and I loved it even more than the first one. The author does a great job pulling you into the story and making you feel all the emotions the characters are experiencing right along with them. Even though this is a short quick read it’s definitely full of emotion and an all around wonderful book. I highly recommend this book.

Coming Home : The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen. I highly recommend reading the first book as this book picks up four months after the end of book one. This is the continuation of the first book and we find Connor still trying to come to terms with the passing of his mother. He’s going through the process trying to find a way to move forward and how to mend broken bridges.my emotions were all over the place and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I finished. Find out what happens next I highly recommend reading this Book. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
Coming Home is the second book in Jane Suen’s Flowers in December series! I was delighted to meet up with Connor, Tom (the orange tabby of Connor’s diseased mother) … and Mary Ann! Is it going to be the second chance for Connor who is still grieving his mother … The writer has given us a story filled with hope and healing and forgiveness … it is also a story of possibility of a Christmas miracle! I read the story when the holiday season was long gone and the writer’s words took me back to the holiday season when everyone hopes for something special (and someone special)! And you should read the first book before you jump into this one; you will enjoy the ride much more! The writer gives us also the delight of meeting Ron and Norma and Alana again … Close your eyes and you will wonder down the streets of the town with them while getting lost in your imagination! (I pictured the small town in California that I lived in for some years when picturing the small town that the writer has brought us to!) I wonder what will come next …

Before you read this, you must read book one, Flowers in December.
This was a quick read but so much was packed into this story. This book picks up 4 months after the first at Christmas time, but doesn’t need to be read as a holiday read at all.
I don’t want to say anything about this book that may become a spoiler of sorts but this is a must read. It didn’t go the way I thought it was going to and that was surprising.
Can’t wait for more from this author .
Great book! Read a few by this author and she never ceases to amaze me and keep me drawn into a book! This is a book of love that will bring you joy and make you smile and maybe even cry. The plot and description was amazing and so good. You won’t be sorry reading this book.

This is book two in the Flowers in December series. This is a heartwarming story about love and forgiveness. Sometimes you have to leave home to realize that home is the only place you want to be. Connor Norton has returned home for the first Christmas without his mom. It’s a rough one but his neighbours and friends are there for him. In the spirit of giving, he in turn helps his neighbour and her estranged daughter. This is a story of a few lives intertwining during a magical season and how love and forgiveness affects them all. A wonderful Christmas story with a deeper meaning.
Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December is written by Jane Suen. It is a fitting follow on from Flowers in December, and another great and riveting story.
Coming Home is a magical story of Connor and Mary Ann, Alana and Dottie. Loss, sadness, hopelessness all feature in their story. But love is a funny little creature. You find it the oddest of places, when you least expect it. Each character has there load to carry, and the author pens it out intriguingly and smartly. A great story to disappear into, with a cast that is easy to like, frustrating at times, always giving more to their audience. A quality story that just kept getting better. 4 stars.

I have to say that this second book was really quite the follow up. I like the opportunity to see how Connor dealt with the grief of losing his mom. This book also gave us an oppertunity to see into the lives of a few others in the community. The author really did a fine job of tying in all the characters.
I can’t help but feel like this was a window in a way into my own grief that I still feel. I really can relate to Connor. The flash backs really helped to add to the book. I also was very intrigued to learn more about Dottie and her daughter Alana. I was so glad they were able to look past their differences. I like the cliff hanger as to Connor and Mary Ann. The author has a great way of grabbing the reader from the beginning and keeping you glued to the pages wanting more. I look forward to reading more from this author in future.
Coming Home by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This is such a sweet book. Jane Suen can always make me smile or get a quick book fix. This story had about five characters to follow, each with their own story and hardship.
Mary Ann is seeing Ron after Conner leaves and doesn’t speak to her for four months, so she has moved on. Connor is back in town and wants to see Mary Ann desperately and possibly rekindle their relationship, but he doesn’t see that being possible with the way he left things. Ron is interested in Mary Ann and spends a lovely Christmas with her. Dottie was a friend of Connor’s mother and is like family to him, and is estranged from her daughter. Alana is Dottie’s daughter, she wants nothing to do with her mother until this year, when things change and put life in perspective. You will have to read the book to see what comes of everyone.
Great short read. The characters were easy to love or hate and their stories easy to relate to. I really felt for Dottie and Alana’s situation because it all seems so unreal and terrible what they went through. I am on the fence about Mary Ann and Connor or Mary Ann and Ron. I do think it really sucks how Connor left it with Mary Ann, but I can understand his state of mind. If they would just talk it all out things could maybe become more clear and forgiveness could start. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a nice sweet story, with a hint of romance.
