All Doms expect submission. This Master demands more… position as a staff slave—owned by all—she accepts. Getting her needs met without the expectations of a relationship seems like the perfect solution.
Though Ethan enjoys his job as a trainer at a private BDSM club in Miami, he’s itching for a change. When he’s asked to start up some new training programs for The Compound, an ultra-exclusive facility in New York, he jumps at the chance.
Drawn to the strong, quiet submissive assigned to serve as his assistant, he thrills at putting her through her paces within the confines of his course. When an acquaintance lures Talia into a dangerous situation, it’s up to Ethan to rescue her, not only from that man’s clutches, but from her own fears… And if Ethan has to conquer a few of his own along the way…so be it.
Coming Home is Book 3 of The Compound Trilogy. While this is a stand-alone novel, your experience will be enhanced if you read the books in order.

This story starts out slowly and builds in intensity. I wanted to like Talia’s husband but all I could think about was what a poser he was to call himself a dom who knew nothing about the incredible gift he was given by his wife. The connection that Ethan builds with Talia made shivers run thru me as he romanced her in such a powerful and stirring way. He connected with her inner soul and it was beautiful. This story was sweet, inspiring and very sexy.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
I am soooo sad to see this series coming to an end. This whole series has been amazing. This book was written about Master Ethan and Talie. The way they interact with each other is so sweet and touching. Talie has come to the Compound and found a home as a “slave” there, missing the BDSM in her life after her husband passes away in Afghanistan. Master Ethan is looking for something different in life and comes to the Compound as an instructor/Master. They find each other and from there you will have to read and see…….Loved this whole trilogy. This book introduces a new couple however it does have couples from the previous books. It can be read as a stand alone, but I truly suggest reading the whole series, you can not go wrong with a book by this author!
“COMING HOME”, is the story of Master Ethan and his sub Talia. This is a rather a long tale of how their story begins, twists and continues on. Not to give too much away, but one of the twists will make you hold your breath. I did not see it coming and had me wondering if our author was going to bring things to a good or bad ending. Our author has such a way of making you part of the story and taking you along for the up and down ride. I have read each of the three books in this series and each one is better and better and makes you wish this place called the “Compound” was real and you could go there for training, well done Ms Claire Thompson my hats off too you.
We return to the Compound in this book, but you can read it as a standalone without any problems. I haven’t read the other books, but I had no trouble following the story.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish and read this one sitting. The story of Ethan and Talia is wonderful to read. What I enjoyed about this book was how it showed the different types of relationship and as long as there is consent there is no wrong or right way. It all depends on the couple and what works for them. It shows a multitude of different plays, my favorite was the Shibari scene and all the emotions that played part.
It was a beautiful journey.
This was a beautiful love story. Talia had loved her husband but after he was killed she was lost and it soon becomes apparent that their dynamic was flawed in that she didn’t fully submit. Ethan is immediately drawn to Talia and is intuitive to all her emotions and w ants to help her. When Talia goes through a terrifying experience, it is Ethan that knows she is in trouble and ultimately saves her.
It was so nice to see Paul and Alexis again and it was Alexis that helped Talia understand what Ethan was looking for. This is Talia’s journey and it was a remarkable one with a really happy conclusion in every respect.
“Coming Home” is the final book in Claire Thompson’s “The Compound” trilogy. “Coming Home” is a truly wonderful love story set in The Compound, a BDSM haven located in eastern New York, an area that’s either upstate or downstate depending on your perspective if you live in New York.
“Coming Home” features Talia and Ethan, new characters in the trilogy and to the Compound and so, unlike so many trilogies, “Coming Home” can easily be read as a standalone (although reading the first two books at some point is highly recommended because they are excellent).
Talia was introduced to BDSM by her husband, a soldier who subsequently is killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. After a period of time, Talia decides to continue on in the lifestyle and finds The Compound as a place she finds herself at home. After her initial experiences there, she decides to become what The Compound calls “slaves.” She works for the group, in her case predominantly as a massage therapist, but also doing other work, while being unassigned to any master and available to any of them.
Ethan is a master who works out of Miami, but chooses to come to The Compound for a change of pace. When they meet it’s pretty much love at first sight. But the way Talia’s husband trained her, learning to absorb pain but not to fly while experiencing it, is something that Ethan wants Talia to overcome and eventually, together, they do. And while no book is “happily every after” unless it details and describes “ever after,” “Coming Home” has as happy an ending as one could possibly imagine.
A word about the genius of “The Compound” trilogy’s underlying plot. Claire created a multifaceted BDSM utopia, a place where it’s safe and secure, a place where both men and women, dominants and subs, inexperienced and highly experienced, can share their lives. Some are on the group’s staff, some are newbies to the lifestyle, some come back for refresher courses (whether as doms or subs), some are married to one another, etc. In simple terms, there’s a tremendous amount of diversity to be described and explored–and Claire Thompson does so brilliantly throughout the trilogy. Claire has a wonderful way of describing her characters and their psychology and while she highlights the good of the BDSM lifestyle for many of those who participate in it, she’s also vigilant in noting and criticizing the not-so-good and, yes, the very bad and abusive as well when and as it occurs.
I only rarely write reviews and, quite honestly, I tend to be highly skeptical about the vast majority of the many reviews I read. I very much prefer reading really good books than writing about them. Too many reviews read like they’ve been written by publicists or the author or the author’s best friends. I purchased the first two books in The Compound series and I was given the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of “Coming Home.” Integrity and honesty are vitally important to me. I would never deceive anyone about a book I’ve read (or anything else for that matter). The Compound Series is a fascinating and wonderful series and “Coming Home” is a remarkable and highly engaging conclusion to it. Enjoy!
Learning to again
Talia is at the Compound as a house slave after her husband is killed serving his country. She thinks that her will never be involved again and that she can get her kinks by serving others. Ethan is a visiting Dom working to set up a new training program at the Compound. Sparks instantly fly but Talia still holds back. When the past creeps up on Talia she has to prove to herself and to Ethan that she is made of tougher stuff. Love, new training and acceptance are all part of the couples future and it’s a bumpy road to get there but they do. Lovely addition to the Compound series. Can’t wait for more!
Oh no, this is it! This is the last book of the Compound trilogy!
I will dearly miss the people Ms Thompson, the Grande Dame of BDSM, created within the nucleus of that haven. The different stories all pack an emotional punch, relatable characters, and show a deep understanding of the community described.
Although they are “just” stories, I can loose myself in her books for hours of spine tingling delights. I always catch myself slowing down reading at about the halfway point because I don’t want to leave places like the Compound.
Fortunately this author has an abundant cache of stories she is only too happy to distribute among connoisseurs of the genre!
Go on!
Immerse yourself!
I LOVED “Coming Home” by Claire Thompson. She is a great BDSM erotica writer. “Coming Home” is the 3rd in the Compound series, and while it is a standalone M/f erotic romance, your reading will be enhanced by reading the first 2 Compound series. You won’t want to miss all the delicious sex and chemistry in the earlier books. I enjoy books like this with a depth of emotion, magnetic M/f chemistry, & lots of smokin’ hot BDSM sex. In “Coming Home” I found the thrilling BDSM sex, intimately described, extremely detailed, responsibly portrayed. The H/h attraction, chemistry, then love is obvious, palpable and realistic. She is smart, strong, thoughtful and relate-able. He is a sexy, caring, pushy Dom. As they grow through their experiences so does the love and their devotion. Great claiming ceremony with the HEA.
So much fun to return to The Compound and visit all the people there. It’s kind of like Friends except with BDSM. There are two couples there that feature in this book, who were in the previous books. Really nice to see how they’re doing.
This particular story is just plain sweet. I don’t really know why, unless it’s because of how Master Ethan and Talie interact. She is so docile and quiet, and very wounded. He is so calm and thoughtful and kind. They are a perfect couple from first sight. She thinks she can’t ever give her heart away again, so she joins the Compound as a general slave. She still strongly feels the need to serve and submit, yet doesn’t want the emotional intimacy that comes with a relationship. She thinks she is safe from the emotions by making sure she isn’t owned by just one master. Enter Master Ethan. Immediate connection and attraction between both. Let the journey begin.
There are many types of BDSM and relationships, and the one Master Ethan believes in is caring, sharing and emotional connections Just what she doesn’t want.
As always, Claire does an outstanding job of making sure the readers can follow along and understand the whys and ways of BDM just by her story telling.
This is a couple you just want to grab and hug.
Talia had been married and widowed to a soldier. He learned everything he knew from the internet about BDSM. He taught her to always do for him and never for herself. She went to work at the Compound where she caught the eye of Master Ethan and her whole life changed. Great end to the trilogy.
Coming Home was a wonderful read. It is more than just a BDSM book but has some romance and suspense included which really made it an enjoyable book.
Talia was searching for something but she wasnt’ sure exactly what she was missing. She had preconceived ideas about how she should respond when she went to the compound. Her boundries were expanded and she learned new things about herself.
Master Ethan was also searching for something when he left his home in Miami to become a visiting instructor at the compound. The journey for Talia and Ethan was exciting to see unfold.
Although this is a trilogy, it can be read as a stand alone book. However, you will want to get the other books and read them too.
