She walked into my life when I was 17. Actually, I walked into hers. I applied for an after-school job at her photography studio. I fell for her at first glance. She was my first love. Actually, she was my first at a lot of things, and when she walked out on me, she broke my heart.I thought it had healed. Then I saw her again and as corny as it sounds, looking into her eyes was like coming home. … coming home. The question is, can old hurts be forgotten, and can old love be rekindled? I don’t know, but sure as hell hope it’s possible.

Who hasn’t had a moment in time where the decision was made to walk away, whether you made it or it was made for you, and the question stays with you your whole life – what if? Max and Olivia met when Max was almost 18 and Olivia was almost 30. Even with the age difference and the potential stigma of being branded a “cougar,” their feelings for each other were too strong for Olivia to ignore. But Olivia broke Max’s heart (and her own) when she walked away. Now she’s back, but can they face their past and reconcile the hurt so they can move on?
There’s a lot of emotional pain to be overcome and questions to be answered. The feelings tug at your heartstrings on every page; the excitement of beginning attraction, the joy of unbridled lust, the contentment of love found, the angst of breaking hearts, and the ache of love lost. All this inside a love story you won’t want to miss. It’s the best 2nd chance OWYM tale that will grab your interest from the beginning and hold your heart until the very end.
I highly recommend this wonderful addition to the Honky Tonk Angels series. The characters and storyline are well-drawn and engaging; holding your attention from start to finish. We get a peek at some of the characters from the series, which only adds to your reading pleasure. It’s a fast-paced, entertaining tale that will bring a lot of enjoyment to your day and well worth the read!
Book seven of the Honky Tonk Angels series. This is a younger man/older woman story of Maxwell Edward Clearman and Olivia Warren, and everything they go through, through the years until they can finally be together. His parents where their worst enemy in everything they did to Olivia and kept hidden from Max. I really enjoyed reading this story. I received a ARC of this story and I am voluntarily reviewing
Coming Home
“You’re home, Livi. Where my heart lives.”- Max
With lines like this, how can you not tear up when reading this story. After 12 years apart, will Max and Olivia(Livi) be able to find their way back to each other? Everyone knows anything is possible in Cotton Creek. All of the stories in this series is a must read. Cotton Creek and it’s inhabitants are full of adventure, love and entertainment. I originally read this story as part of a box set but with it being the holiday season felt it would be the perfect time to reread it.
*I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I would give this more stars if I could! I just adore Cotton Creek, Texas and so wish I could move there. This story is such a fantastic one that the most important thing I would suggest to someone who wants to read it, give yourself time with nothing planned as you will not want to put this down.
My heart just broke for both Max and Olivia. Olivia is a few years shy of 30. Max will be 18 in a few short months. Olivia is a photographer in Cotton Creek. She is struggling in the small town and is trying to make in big. She is booked solid for the next few months and needs an assistant. Max applies for the job. He is a handsome young man and very shy. Both Max and Olivia are attracted to each other but she knows that it isn’t right as he is under age.
This story is a little different than the other Cotton Creek stories. We get the story told from both the present (when Olivia is 40) and from the past from both POVs of the characters.
A word of warning, have tissues ready!!! I teared up near the end several times. This was such an emotional read. I highly recommend this story to anyone if you adore second chance romances. Especially between an older woman and a younger man. Their romance doesn’t start until his actually turns 18 so that may turn off some people.
Great story. Very emotional. I really like Livi, they are so connected and she is very respectful of the age difference. They are just meant to be even though everyone is against them being together, especially her. Ten years later, life brings them full circle, they still have hurdles but regardless of the issues, their love is true together or apart. Author does a great job especially with the blending of the flashbacks, most times I feel like it breaks the flow but not in this case and it’s understandable due to the revelations they provide. I also like that although they are both rightfully emotional, they also show maturity. Very well written plot with lots of feeling and depth. Just love it!! I was provided a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WOW!! A second chance that tops all second chances!! Max and Livi were so lost without each other despite all the achievements both had incurred professionally. This book really does lay it out for the reader that sometimes you do need that one person to fully complete you and give meaning to your life!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Fantastic addition to the HONKY TONK ANGELS SERIES. We finally get the “rest of the story” of Olivia and Max. A very emotional story of an older woman and a younger man. Lots of drama in a fast reading page turner.
I do not overload on holiday stories with a select few I will read thanks to working in retail I get burnt out quick. This is one of the the authors that caught my eye with her holiday magic. This also is a second chance for that magic to happen. You will get a mix in this one that will work its way into the emotions but also warm the soul. As you get their story-Olivia and Max will do the wrapping of the reader giving you a gift to remember.

This story was not what I expected……this is about an older woman and a much younger man. This story was so true to life and totally not what I expected.
Olivia the older woman, who has her own photography business, hires Max, a senior in high school to work for her during the school year. They become such good friends and work so well together that feelings start developing between them. This causes so much angst, heartache and demands to leave Max alone that Olivia decides she needs to leave Cotton Creek in order for Max to move on and become what he was meant to be.
They meet up 12 years later back in Cotton Creek and find that neither has found the “one” to spend their lives with because they could not forget each other. Sometimes love brings you back to where you are supposed to be and shows you that second chances do happen.
Once you start reading it will be hard to put down until you find out how this all resolves itself. Another great book by Ciana Stone! !
I love the Honky Tonk Angels books!!! Olivia walked away from Mac years go because he was only 18 and she wanted him to have a life. Years later she walks into his life again and their journey starts to unfold . Can the pain and heartache that happened in the past be forgotten? Can they move forward and have and HEA? So many questions for which the answers will help them to open their hearts and make them come home. I honestly volunteered to review this arc.
Ciana Stone has captivated me with a beautifully written masterpiece. Coming Home captivated and enthralled me. Falling in love and getting a second chance is beautiful, nothing is better. Hands down my new favorite book.
A Fantastic Holiday Romance .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Coming Home . I really enjoyed reading this second chance romance . It’s a very emotional and beautiful story . It just shows love knows no boundaries especially age . I highly recommend reading this story and enjoying . It’s a fantastic story .
She was an older woman and he was 17. He helped her after school with photography and as things went along they fell in love. But his parents found out and came between them. Now they are back and things are different. Not much different from the here and now. Sad in so many ways and nuturing in others. A great story.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Olivia knew that she had to leave.
Max was only 18 years old.
Even though she loved him, it was the right decision to leave.
Now Olivia is back, and her feelings for Max did not go away.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
She’s his home
Olivia gets a last minute assignment and ends up in Cotton Creek of all places. But when she arrives at her destination, she’s shocked and surprised to discover she’s taking photos of Max…..the one that she let get away
This story focuses on the past and present lives of Max and Livi, which in my opinion is done really well. There is heaps of emotion pouring off the pages, that literally tear your heart from your chest but also a story that will soon engulf you and have you less than eager to put down before finishing
I can attest to the fact that this can be read as a standalone as I have not read any of the Honky Tonk series and I was able to follow the characters quite well I received an advanced copy for which I leave my honest review
When others think they know what is best for you and it makes you miserable. You just have to keep on living and hope the future will be brighter.
Max and Olivia are like a coming of age and into their own place in life together.
Just beautiful.
I have to say that I think this book was really well written. The emotions experienced by Max and Olivia were raw and intense. I just found it to be so sad and painful.
With all of Max’s and Olivia’s successes and accomplishments over the years, they both seemed to lead sad and lonely lives. They were so unhappy.
It was truly a melancholy read for me, even with the HEA. I expected a happy holiday romance. This absolutely was not that book. I can’t say that I enjoyed it, but it did evoke very strong feelings. I need to find a romantic comedy or some other light hearted book to read next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
