Ty Scott has spent most of his life trying to keep his best friend, Declan, strictly in the friend zone. It hasn’t been easy, especially sharing a condo with him for six years. But having an unattainable straight best friend in his life is better than losing that friendship altogether. At 26, Declan Andrews is settled in his life. He’s been a Navy SEAL for seven years, rapidly climbing the ranks … the ranks and doing everything he can to put as much space between him and his childhood. Being locked tightly in the closet is wearing him down, and seeing his best friend shamelessly flirting with a guy in a bar one night snaps something inside of him.
Will staying in the closet end up pushing Declan’s best friend, and the man he’s loved for most of his life, away for good? Will Ty’s sexy secret be too much for Declan to handle? Or will an on-the-job accident stop everything before it starts?
Coming Home is an approximately 72k word, best friends-to-lovers, demisexual romance novel, with a sassy man in lingerie and an HEA. While Coming Home is the second book in the Finding Home Series, it can be read as a standalone novel

Sophomore Effort Arguably Stronger Than Debut. This is number 2 in the series and blatantly labeled as such, but it *can* be read independently of the first book, if you don’t mind major spoilers of what happens in the first book. I was fortunate enough to read that first book as an ARC as well, and Marie is absolutely beginning a pattern – but a pattern which I’ve never seen from any other author. The books are strong, relatable romances featuring a large extended family on at least one side (the connective tissue in the series) that could work no matter the genders of the pairing. But where Marie truly shines is picking up on “less than normal” kinks and sexualities and building strong characters that happen to have them. Very nice to catch up with the couple from the first book and the entire extended family originally introduced there, and devastating to have some secrets hinted at in the first book revealed here. Absolutely looking forward to the next tale in this series and future work from this author.
Ty and Declan
Oh my, this was such a great read. Two best friends, way back to kindergarten, living together.
One is a med one a SEAL, one out and one not. When they finally are honest about their feelings it is on, and when I say on I mean ON.
It’s all so natural, sweet and funny. We get to know some delicious facts!!
“he looked at me like I was rainbow-sprinkle-covered ice cream and he hadn’t eaten in weeks.”
This was more than a wonderful written story, it had the spotlight just on the right things. I love it when there is no unnecessary time spent on things that don’t really matter.
The story is all about Ty and Declan, about their friendship and love and how they explore each other thoroughly, with a lot of steamy sweetness, it’s about Declan work as a SEAL, the danger involved and how it can go wrong, it’s about their circle of friends, family and colleagues.
The way of writing was awesome done, with smoothly flowing sentences.
This read is pleasurable friendly, lovely emotional and endearing, it was so vividly written it made my eyes blurred and my heart swelled several times while reading.
I’m so gonna read the next and the other books from this series!! I have to know more about the other amazing personalities!!
I was routing for these two with the first book and am so glad they have their own story. These two are meant for each other and it is amazing the way they feel for each other. I also like how we learn to trust the family we built.
I listened to the audio version which was well done.
Fabulously fabulous book.
Highly recommended to all.
Five thumbs up
This book was also a great read. Although I prefer the MM books I read to be masculine men, I enjoyed reading how much it turned Declan on. I enjoyed reading how their romance developed after years of friendship and how much they cared and loved one another. I always enjoy reading about a character discovering and learning about his sexuality and sex.
It was a beautiful love story with some hot scenes too and great characters.

Declan & Ty have been friends since they were little boys. Declan is more a part of Ty’s family than his own. Home after a mission, Declan discovers he has romantic feelings for Ty but is afraid of what would happen to their life-long friendship if he pursued those feelings. Ty was terrified to say anything because he believed Dec was straight. Once they both clear the air, their chemistry is off the charts, especially when Declan finds out that Ty likes the feel of lace & silk (MANTIES!!!)
***Warning***
While Dec & Ty are not into age play (specifically ABDL), Ty & Colt from At Home are and their relationship IS discussed (and there is some on page ‘play’ between T&C).

I loved this one! Sweet, & sexy, and a wonderful demisexual, best-friends to lovers romance!!
This is a somewhat epic second-chance and sexual awakening story with many years passing between book 1 and book 2 in this series. Ty and Declan are in their mid-20s now and Ty has been in love with/fighting his feelings for Delcan most of his life. While Delcan seems settled in his life but is finding the closet rather suffocating. I liked the connection between Declan and Ty and how they both love each other but can’t say, show or act on it. It made for great dialogue and funny moments.
I love Carly’s cheeky approaches to something “kinky” and this story is no exception! I loved Ty sexy secret and felt it added some wonderful heat and sexy, teasing moments between these two, while sort of forcing Delcan into action and bridging the gap between their friendship and more!
I love inclusive stories and various representations and I felt this was a beautiful representation of demisexuality, with a Carly sexy twist that just works! I loved it and look forward to more in this series and more cheeky kink from Carly 😉
Bolton does a fantastic job narrating this story. I felt all the emotions from Bolton’s narration. I loved it! Bolton and Carly are a dream team!!

The relationship between Ty and Declan was adorable and sweet. I loved how they went from best friends to lovers. Plus, Ty in manties was hot and the sex scenes were great. The only thing I didn’t really like was how the author talked about Declan being in the Navy because there were some details that were wrong that jarred me out of the story when I read them. I don’t think those wrong details would matter to the average reader, and I was able to brush them off fairly quickly. I read this story for fluff and kink, and on that front, the author delivered.
Overall Rating: 3 Stars. It was a good story with decent writing. The characters were likable and the sex scenes were great.
I love these characters so much! Ty and Declan have great chemistry and are perfect for eachother. And I loved all the cameos from At Home. I can’t get enough of this series.
Another wonderful story by Carly Marie, narrated by the ever so talented Bolton Hill.
I loved how Ty and Dec switched almost effortlessly from a life-long friendship into their relationship, once Declan decides to stop hiding he’s gay and has been attracted to his best friend for mmost of his life. This book is so sweet with a bit of naughtiness that just adds the right amount of spice to it!
Carly Marie’s Coming Home is the second book in the Finding Home series. It is a contemporary m/m romance with a best friends to lovers theme.
Ty and Declan have been friends for pretty much their whole lives, secretly in love for the last several years. When “straight” Declan comes out to Ty and professes he may be demisexual and in love with him for years, these two decide that falling into a relationship is definitely worth exploring… especially after Ty realizes Declan is drawn to Ty’s love of Lace panties. But of course there will be challenges – like Declan getting deployed.
I love Ty and Declan. Ty is comfortable in his body and has a great attitude. Declan is great and I love how he is full in when it comes to being with Ty , no more hiding in closet – he embraces it and makes no apologies. Their strong friendship just makes their lovestory stronger and hotter. This story is so sweet and yet sexy. It made me smile and I just enjoyed every moment

This was sexy and mildly angsty read. Two childhood friends in love with each other finally find courage to speak up and explore their feelings. I liked both MCs and all the side characters. There was a bit of Colt and Derek in here, and it was so fun watching them interact. I loved Ty’s lacy concoctions, and how growly Declan became after seeing him in them. While Ty was always open about who he loved, Declan was confused because of how much mental damage his own family managed to inflict. But the Scott family took him under their wing, and I think that unconditional love was what helped him to accept this new part of himself albeit slightly later that he should have. But once he did, he never looked back and made sure Ty knew how loved he was.
I loved their interactions – they were tender and romantic but always playful. Both men always had fun with each other and their mutual friends. I loved how Scott family rallied around Ty when Declan got hurt on the job. Declan finally felt like part of their family. I got misty-eyed when it hit him that everyone was there for him. I just wish he’d gotten some closure with his own family. They had a lot to answer for. But as they say if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. So they stayed far away and miserable for not being in Declan’s life. Wonderfully written well-paced passionate romance, and I loved it! I recommend it!
This is a really sweet and sexy story. Ty and Declan have been best friends since childhood, and Ty’s family cares about Declan more than his own family does. When neither man can keep pretending they just want to be friends, and Dec stops trying to live as a straight man, the two become the perfect couple. Declan’s life as a Navy SEAL adds complications to the story, but not because of homophobia. I love how accepting his team is.
The guys spend a lot of time with Ty’s brother Derek and his husband Colt, who are the focus of book one, At Home. I love how open they are about their Daddy Dom/little boy relationship. Their family’s recognition and acceptance is wonderful. While Ty and Dec don’t participate in age play, Ty has his own sexy preference, which Declan is quite fond of. That adds just a bit of spice to their sexy times.
This book is full of family and friendship, and it is an enjoyable read. I feel happy and satisfied with the ending. I look forward to the next book in this series, which will feature characters I like from this book. I can’t wait!
