The fifth book in the Callaway Family series a well written second chance story that held my interest until the end. Becca Callaway left her hometown because of something that happened to her, in leaving she left Josh Thompson the only man she loved behind. She has now come back, after ten years away. Can they get a second chance, and what happens when he finds out what really happened back then? In all this time only one other person knew why she left. The story was well worth reading. Kaithlin Shepherd’s Coming Home is Book 5 in her outstanding Calloway Family series. Much more than a small town romance, a brother’s best friend romance… this novel evokes every emotion and is not just a beautiful love story, but a story of healing, family and second chances. Josh and Becca share a past full of young love, trauma and heartbreak, and when she returns to town years later, secrets that always find a way to come out finally do. You can read this novel as a standalone, but if you have read the series, your love for this family will connect you to this story even more. Josh and Becca’s story is brilliantly-written, thought-provoking, and at heart a romance that will heat up your winter’s night while speaking to your soul. Ms Shepherd is always a must-read author, and Coming Home is no exception.

This is book five in The Callaway Family Series and it is Becca and Josh’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Becca has been in love with Josh for year’s but he only sees her as his best friend’s sister but will it ever change. Josh is so in love with Becca but he has to love her from afar because not only is she his best friend’s sister but Josh has a difficult home life as his dad is a violent drink and Josh has to protect his brother’s even if it means that Josh is the one taking the beatings and also he doesn’t want Becca anywhere near his father. Becca and Josh start to see each other in secret but then something horrific happens to Becca and she leaves without explaining leaving Josh heartbroken and devastated not knowing what he had done wrong. Becca had to leave because if the truth was revealed there would be so much trouble all around and she couldn’t do that even though it left her broken and traumatised and she never stopped loving Josh regardless of how much time passed. Becca is back in her hometown after being away for year’s but will it be a second chance for Becca and Josh once all the secrets are revealed or has too much time passed by for them to have a future together. Omg this book was so emotional and had me in tears so many times with everything that has happened and all the pain that they went through and what they lost but I still couldn’t put this book down as the storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention right throughout until the last page and you had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. Kaithlin Shepherd is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader’s attention and on the edge of their seats and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

The book is a good, and enjoyable small town western romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is told in two parts 14 years in the past, and then in the present. The past is when Josh is between 20 -22 and Becca was 16-18. The story picks up 12 years later in the present when Becca is in her early 30’s and Josh is heading closer to his 40’s. The story was a good conclusion to the series.

This story was told in two parts, 14 years before and then in the present. The past was from age 16-18 for Becca and Josh was 20-22. The story then picks up 12 years later and Josh is heading close to 40 and Becca is in her early 30’s. The first part of the book was painful for me to read. Josh is the oldest Thompson boy and he has three brothers, Chase (youngest), Owen and Jack. His mom left them years ago and Josh tries to protect his brothers from his fathers mean, drunk temper.
The second part of the story starts when Becca comes home and she has to face Josh for the first time in 10+ years. It is a story about facing the past and that the secrets must come out. Becca sufferered so much and when the truth comes out it made me shed a few tears. It was a great conclusion to a series I have loved.
